Evening both.
Nice warm day here. Not very sunny though.
I got a load of towels dry on the line.

Did some tidying up in my own garden, and had another go at the mower, without success.
I got the cover off the valves to see if they were sticking, but they seemed fine to me. Sprayed some WD40 on them just in case. But it didn't help the starting problem.
I got the idea that the problem might be the valves from googling. But I'm running out of ideas now.
I see B&Q online has a very similar mower (MacAllister badge, but same Honda engine) for ÂĢ340, so at least I know that's the most I would have to pay if I bought a new one.

Hicky. Yes Visas for your trip will be a headache. You'll need one for the USA I suppose? Will you need others?
That's great that you are sleeping properly again now.
I can usually remember a few Birthdays anyway. Brother SiL Uncle Nephews etc.
Well done getting those curtains fitted. Bet your OH has been on at you for ages to do it?

Mollie. Elvises again? At least one of them was a good singer anyway.
No the Motorhomers didn't come anywhere near me, although I've been to the places they went to, many years ago. (Before the Skye bridge was built)
Pity there's so many roads closed that'll make you OH's journey difficult. It seems to be an increasing problem.
Tooth fine for my spag bol. It's the handful of nuts that I eat after supper that I've got to be careful with.

Watched X-Factor, then a Sci-fi film on Channel 4.

emptybox

Evening Mollie.

Not much going on today, warm at 18c mainly cloudy slight sunny spell, 13 wind.

Didn't do much, didn't go our for brekkie as she brought a cooked chicken home as she works later hours Sunday so doesn't get in till about 11am.

She gave me half of the chicken so i made a curry for tea.

Gave my neighbour a couple more apples off the tree, Scrumptious, nice as well.

Yes, thats an idea, i could put a reminder in the phone, good thinking.

That was nice going to the Elvis show in the Theatre, and grub after can't be bad.

No trains and the roads closed, you couldn't make it up, crazy, hope they all get back ok and safe.

I agree some have done some sort of dancing, nothing like Strictly though, but at least they can remember some steps but if you didn't have some celebs or people we recognise it wouldn't be so interesting, i don't want to see the clowns like they show on X-Factor early stages.

I like Simon the Chef, i watch him every Sunday Morning on Sunday Brunch.

September seems to be passing rather quick, wow, nearly October all ready.

Hicky

both xx

Hicky

we posted the same time again, so yours appeared after I submitted mine.

That is handy your OH bringing home a cooked chicken for you to enjoy.

Gosh you are right, I don't know why but September seems to be shooting by compared to the summer months. That long holiday of a lifetime is just round the corner for you now.

Yes I like Simon he is a great cook.

Good luck sorting the visas, can you complete them online? But if you can, make sure it is the official site and not one of those agents ripping you off. (like they do for the free EU health card!). What a nuisance about the different luggage allowance, hard to sort as you are going away for so long and for a wedding needing special clothes and for hot weather, then cold in New York.

That was good you managed to sort the curtains out, shame you coudlnt have blinds but they can be very expensive.

Emptybox

glad to hear you got the good weather and washing dry and garden done. Shame about that mower though, especially as mowers suitable for you are so expensive to replace too. Keep an eye open for offers in case they have any. I like John Lewis as they often match prices and great customer service if you have a problem, most things there have 2 -3 years guarantee too included.

Yes watch those nuts as the crown is temporary, some of them are real hard to chew. My fave are cashews at the moment.

The Elvis festival is only once a year and is growing in popularity. We went back today to see the radio wales show broadcast from a big tent in the car park on seafront this morning. Lots of singers singing Elvis. But is was free which made it even better.

OH gone to get kids from Newport, ridiclous how they have cut Wales tunnels off today for road and rail. Been traffic queues all day!

Looking forward to X factor tonight and Victoria. How cute is Victoria's new puppy? Victoria is so pretty isn't she ?

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening folks.
Cloudy but quite warm day here. High of 18 degrees. Raining heavily this evening though.

Hi Hicky. Yes September was gone in a flash.
Handy of OH, giving you half of the chicken.

Hi Mollie. Going back for second helpings of Elvis? At least you didn't need to pay.
I never thought of John Lewis. Didn't realise they sold lawn mowers. Just had a look. They are more expensive than B&Q, but as you say, worth keeping an eye on in case they have a bargain later.
Hope your OH navigates the traffic problems OK.

Watched X Factor then Victoria. As you say it's a great prog, and Jenna Coleman is great.

Evening Both.

Another damp rather miserable day, 15c but some drizzle and heavy cloud, hardly any wind 6.

Didn't do much, o/h was going to her mums but her sister was coming down as well so she dropped me off at the garden centre so i could order my compost delivery and get brekkie there.

She rang me just as i had finished and she was outside waiting, they said they would deliver today, also got delivered an extension for the greenhouse.

we decided to ring and sort out the travel insurance for us both, took some time but had to be don'r i used the one i had when i went to Turkey, cost us ÂĢ1200 but that fully comp and seems fine.

O/H is making a roast for dinner, not sure what as i was in the garden, nearly ready anyway.

Mollie, I even overslept this morning, didn't wake till 8.45.

Yes, it seems we need various visa's, such a pain, probably start tomorrow sorting them out.

Yes, the curtains had to wait for the shingles to more or less go as it wasn't comfortable drilling etc.

We got horizontal blinds for 3 rooms, vertical for the double doors, the kitchen and bathroom have pull up special blinds with clear and dark sections that you can take right up or leave down and have them clear of black with them being double skin, very clever.

I have bought the luggage weighing thing so at least we will know the weights.

Emptybox, I saw you mention B&Q, for business purposes i wouldn't think that was the place to buy equipment, with the problem of getting parts and repairs for B&Q equipment being no existent i would have thought a decent garden equipment centre would be the best bet.

With half a chicken i can get 3 meals (curry) i'm not so keen on chicken otherwise, although i can eat the legs and wings, but the breast is too boring.

Hicky

Hi guys.

Just a quick post from me as my landline phone and broadband have gone dead again, and I'm writing this on my mobile phone, which is annoying.

Rang EE and they give the usual story that it could take between 2 and 4 business day to fix, but who knows.

One good thing is that I have discovered I now have a 4g signal at the house, so at least I won't have to get in the van to hunt a signal, before I can post.

Wet here as well so no work done.

You could be right Hicky, about the Mac Allister mowers from B&Q. Might be harder to get drive cables and such for them. I'll need to look into that.

That's interesting that you are extending the greenhouse. Very expensive travel insurance. But I suppose it's a necessity? Can't you get your son to chip in, as he's paying for the rest of the trip?

Evening Emptybox.

Not a lot going on today, O/H went to her sisters.

The apples on the Sunset section of an apple tree are ripe so might have to take them off to store.

It wasn't a greenhouse extension, i omitted the word Lead as it was an extension lead to get power into the greenhouse.

I rang the gardener but he never answers his mobile as he says it was in the car or somewhere, but i left a message, i need a hole digging for the new vine by the greenhouse.

Thats bad news about your landline has gone down, good job you have the 4G.

The travel insurance for me when i went to Turkey in 2014 was ÂĢ500 just for me so it's not bad for both of us, thats got the extra's in as well, plus we are insured from yesterday fully comp.

We wouldn't ask my lad for any money towards the insurance as it's costing him a lot anyway.

Even on the Figs that have just grown late summer, hundreds of them but of course will have to bin them all, probably half a bucket full, but i have noticed 2 small nicks in some of them which means a squirrel has been testing, same as it does on other fruit, it must be testing for how soft or sweet it is.

will be doing the Visa's tomorrow.

Hicky

both

Hicky

Good luck doing the visas, glad you got the insurance sorted. Yes that is the trouble insurance is always so expensive once you reach retirement age, especially if you are going to USA. Did you have to declare all your medical problems? I had the same thoughts as Emptybox about aksing your lad to chip in. I know he has been good booking and paying for everything but he probably hadn't realised how much you'd have to fork out for insurance.

What a nice luxery for you to be able to oversleep at last, and to be feeling well enough to sort your curtains out at last. Your blinds sound lovely, don't think I have seen any like that.

Emptybox

sorry your landline/broadband has gone off again. Let's hope it gets fixed soon. Thak goodness you have your 4g in the house now though.

Good luck with your lawn mower hunting, let's hope you do see a good clearance sale somewhere.

Was so tired today because hospital visit yesterday was a long day due to things going wrong..

Firstly, OH asked me to pick up his hearing aid as it was ready to collect, but when we walked there (a long walk down all these corridors), it was ready but I was told I'd have to get a number and sit in the queue so they could show me how to fit it. So we sat awhile, then I realised I wouldn't get time to get my tests done as there were so many in front of me if I didn't leave it. So I dashed off for my tests.
They took the blood test first, but then when they checked the forms, they said the doc hadn't sent correct paperwork so the blood test would be rejected. They said they didn't chase paperwork up for patients, but I didn't want to go all over there and have it done again for nothing, so I had to phone my GP surgery whilst there, then wait for my doc to ring me back whilst i was in the clinic. She did ring me back later,  then she had to speak to the hospital staff on my phone and turns out after they checked with someone else, she had done the form  right.
Then off to x ray and after waiting in x ray dept, when it was my turn next, the alarms started going off and turns out the machines all broke. So all the patients had to wait for ages, then they gave up on the broken machines and walked us somewhere else to do the x rays dressed in these horrible hospital gowns. They said I'd need to see my doc in around 10 days for results but there is a 4 week wait for our docs appointments. So fat chance of that!

After all that, I rushed off and did then just made it back on time to collect OH's hearing aid 5 minutes before they closed!  We must of walked miles in that hospital car park and corridors.
Daughter came with me and son drove, so that was a good help as I was stressed, at least daughter was there to help fasten gown and hold my stuff.

Had to go shopping today and the tesco till broke just as we got to it, so another annoyance too. At least mum has been fine and eaten welll today though.

Watching Bake Off, yum pudding today, then Dr Foster, I am enjoying that show too.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Hi both.
Phone back on already. I got a call on my mobile at around 1pm from the Openreach engineer to say it was fixed. Sounds like it was a fault in the exchange. Probably same fault that has knocked it out a few times, so they probably knew exactly what was wrong.

Nice day here, up to 18 degrees and a bit of sunshine this morning. Cloudy this afternoon. Got a couple of jobs done anyway.

Yes the 4g will be very handy, although you only get it standing at the upstairs landing window, so I can't really surf the web in comfort. But at least i now have an alternative internet connection for when the phone goes down.
Plus it's 20 Mb/s download and 5 Mb/s upload, compared to the measly 4.5 Mb/s download and 0.3 Mb/s upload that I get through the landline.
Mobile data is more expensive though.

Previously I only got a 2g connection at the house, which is no good for the internet. The EE mobile signal went off for a few hours a couple of weeks ago, so that must have been when they upgraded the mast on the hill a few miles away.

Hicky. That was a very important word to leave out "lead". Made all the difference to the meaning. I thought you must be adding extra sections to the greenhouse.
I very rarely answer my mobile when working, because I never hear it if I'm using a power tool. Just luckily the engineer rang today when I was raking up hedge clippings, so i heard the ring.
Yes, I suppose your lad is being very generous already with your round the world trip (more or less).
Squirrels at your figs now?I suppose if you have to throw them away anyway, it doesn't really matter?

Mollie. That was a very hectic day at the hospital. But at least you got the tests done eventually. Hope you don't have to wait too long for the results.
Sounds like the hospital is in chaos really, with mix ups over blood test forms, and X-Ray machines not working.
And then you broke the Tesco till as well?
Glad your Mum is eating well still.

Still haven't given up hope of fixing (or getting fixed) this mower. But it has me completely stumped at the moment. And I managed to break a bit of it yesterday, trying to see if it had a proper spark.

Having a bit of trouble with the temporary crown. I find if I bite down on hard food with it I get a little twinge, so I've been eating on the other side. Hopefully the proper crown will be OK for eating on, or it defeats the purpose of it.
Probably just the temporary one isn't a perfect fit, and isn't glued down all that securely, as they have to be able to get it off easily?

Watched Bake Off then Bear Grylls.

Evening Both.

An interesting day, went out for brekkie so we could get on with a ESTA to get in the US, what a rigmarole, sorted in the end.

The gardener had rang and said he could come this afternoon, so got things ready, we got the new vine planted, he dug a hole which filled a wheelbarrow then put back some good soil with IJ3 and manure with Bone Meal, passed the vine base through the hole under the greenhouse so most of the root-ball is outside.

Been out for Tea, had Ribeye with Peppercorn sauce and Fries, very tasty as well.

Just going to watch Strictly Take 2, then This Farming Life.

Mollie, Yes, for the insurance you have to declare every little detail, they miss nothing.

With the holiday costing an absolute fortune i couldn't ask for money.

This blind is similar to what we have in kitchen and bathroom, but you can wind it up out of the way during the day if you want as it has the cord at the side like a roller blind, and when it's down you can have it solid closed or have every other bar showing light through.

https://www.manomano.co.uk/cat...-plain-taupe-4565324

That is only an example, not the actual one.

Yes, it is heaven to have no pain in bed again, it's all but gone back to normal, just a remnant to go now.

Sorry to hear about the awful problems you had regarding O/H's hearing and your tests, not a good day.

Emptybox, So glad they sorted the broadband out so quick, as you say, they probably checked the same area as last time.

That 4G is a good speed, great.

I do wish i could have got a bigger greenhouse, as they sure can't be too big, to be honest if i had thought about it a bit more i might have been able to move a few trees to get the 10ft by 6ft in.

Yes, i find teeth marks in almost everything that edible, even tomato's, it's like they are testing for softness or sweetness not sure, but there is fallen toms under the plants in the raised beds, i leave some so they won't pinch those on the plant.

I would mention about the temporary crown problem as the next one will be made the same, it could mean you have a nerve that either shouldn't be there or it should be isolated, i would ring and check as it will be too late when they fit the next one as it won't come out.

Hicky

both

Emptybox

thank goodness your phone was not off for long, not ideal if you have to stand by landing window to get a signal!

That's good it was so mild and you got a few jobs done. Sorry you are still struggling with the mower though and broke a bit off. Hope you either succeed fixing it soon, or find a bargain replacement.

Don't worry if you are having a bit of trouble with the temporary crown. I did too as time went on and was real worried the proper one would give me jip. But as you say, the tempoary ones can feel uncomfy as they are only temporary so are not very stable, and feel sensitive when they move around a little. As Hicky says, speak to the dentist though if you are concerned and need to check.

Hicky

that's good you got the visas sorted, I am sure you were in real need of a brekkie out with that to sort out though. Sounds like it was a busy afternoon for you and the gardner, so tea out was deserved too.

Your blinds look real good, so handy you can adjust them to suit the weather. What a shame you couldn't of got a bigger greenhouse as you have so much produce on the go.

Yes as Emptybox says if the squirrels have got the figs, doesn't matter as they were being thrown and the squirrels will be gone soon for winter. They are very hungry at the moment, as I am sure we would be if we knew we would have to live off our fat reserves with no food all winter. Good idea to leave the produce you don't want hanging around in order to protect the stuff still to be picked.

We keep getting slugs coming into the kitchen on the floor at night, the kids just pick them up in a tissue and put them back out in the garden.

So glad you are feeling yourself again now.   That was a long time to feel so uncomfy.

Not a bad morning here, so took dog a walk early as the forecasters got it right and heavy rain arrived by afternoon.

I made coly cheese, and veg for tea. I love coly cheese.

watching that comedy Moving on itv then Doc Martin, with corrie inbetween.

Evening both.
Quite a nice day here. Mostly cloudy but quite warm.
Got some hedge cutting, strimming and mowing done.

Hicky. That's good that you had the gardener to help you.
Interesting that the roots of the vine are planted outside the greenhouse?
That's good that you've got your US visa thing sorted.
Two meals out today.

I had wondered if I've got a nerve in that tooth exposed. I'll certainly mention it to the dentist when I see him, just in case he has to do something else before they fit the crown proper. If I get any more problems I will ring them up.
I wasn't having any problems with the tooth before, and went for a crown on the dentist's recommendation, so I shall be extremely annoyed if it ends up giving me pain and problems.

Mollie. Thanks for the reassurance about the crown. I didn't have any problems for the first couple of days, but then I bit a bit of chocolate and got a bit of pain, and since then it's been sensitive to hot and cold liquids and felt a bit numb.
Hopefully it'll be OK in the end though.
Good that you got your dog walk in before the rain.

Watched Location on CH4 then 'How to Stay Young' on BBC1, then I watched the first couple of episodes of 'Star Trek: Discovery' on Netflix.

emptybox

Evening Both.

A much better day here, sun all day really, 18c with light winds 4>7.

Just had bacon and tomato on toast for brekkie, just had 2 burgers with onions, mustard and tomato sauce, heaven.

Didn't do a lot, sent some apples and cucumber with o/h for her mum, the sunset apples are ripe now as well.

Having trouble understanding the baggage rules for different countries, they all seem to be different.

We have been granted the ETA to visit Australia as well.

Mollie, The gardener did a good job, the roots are mainly outside the greenhouse as i pass the rootball under the bottom frame of the greenhouse to him outside so it is at an angle coming into the greenhouse so i needn't of bought the polycarbonate sheets to replace the glass, nut they will do if a pane gets broken.

The squirrels test everything, i find to marks in fruit about 1.5cm apart, depends on the size of the creature, they just eat anything, am wondering if it was them that took all the Blueberries.

I'm always finding slugs of various sizes, usually in the kitchen.

I usually have 1 coly cheese, the one you get from Sainsbury's.

Will have to make a shopping list but o/h is off tomorrow so we will either have to go out to get it or she would have to get it Saturday morning.

I like 'Taskmaster', pretty stupid but funny.

Emptybox, It seems the advice that you get about the vines for the greenhouse, because of watering problems it is best to have the roots outside.

Yes i agree about the tooth problem but i have a feeling the final one is in production and i think you should let him know about the way it feels now in case adjustments have to be made, it will be too late next time you go won't it.

Hicky

both

Emptybox

yes as Hicky says, might be best to contact the dentist to see what he says about this discomfort, as the new one is being made now. The dentist might say it is normal. As I said I got this after awhile because the temp crown moved.

That's good you got the hedge cutting, strimming and mowing done, hope it  was fine for you today too, as I know how busy you are right now.

Hicky

I bet your OH's mum will be pleased with the produce you sent her.

That is good you are pleased with your gardner's work. No wonder he is hard to get hold of if he is so good.

HOpe you got your shopping list sorted out ok.

Lovely day here today, so got lots of washing done, then my friend was coming nealby, so she asked to call in. Made her her usual cheese and tomatoes on toast to go with her coffee as she enjoys it so much.
Then had to catch up on paperwork, then made a roast dinner for family. Daughter has a cold, so she couldnt' help as she didn't want to spread her germs around. I had cauly cheese and I did the family (and dog) chicken with the veg. I made their fave roasties to go with the mash, carrots and peas.

As it was so nice weather wise, I even managed to get a quick sit down on the swingchair, which is nice to do this time of year.

Just watched Supervet, he is amazing what work he does.

Watching the Manchester school now.

Cough seems to be easing, thank goodness.

Hope you are feeling fit and well again now Hicky.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening.
A nice warm dry day with quite a lot of sunshine. It's good that we all got nice days.
More hedge cutting and mowing work.

Hicky. Those baggage rules sound a nightmare. At least you have the Aussie visa sorted as well.
Ah I see, it makes sense for the vine roots to be outside the greenhouse to give it more room.
That wouldn't work in my greenhouse, as it's on concrete slabs.

Mollie. Glad that you got a nice day for your friend's visit.
Pity your daughter has a cold, but at least your own cough is easing.

Just been reading up on temporary crowns, and it seems pain when biting can mean they aren't fitted properly, and can actually cause an infection in the nerve, which could result in root canal treatment being needed. So I might decide to phone the dentist up. I'll see what it's like tomorrow.
Haven't had any problems with it during the day today, but it's feeling a bit sore tonight.

Watched the Invictus Games on BBC1 then a prog on BBC2 about someone travelling through Russia, then watched Celebrity Juice on ITV2 because Sarah Harding was on it.

emptybox

Evening Both.

A strange day really, yesterday the forecast said sun after 9am, the forecast today had changed to rain spells anytime with sunny spells.

Put my shopping away, then decided to run the cable for the greenhouse power, with the sunhouse/mancave having Acrylic glass i can cut it with scissors and with not using the 2 polycarbonate sheets i had allowed to get the vine through the side i used one to let the cable through the corner of the side end top section by swapping the glass for the poly sheet and cutting a small slot for the cable, so thats sorted.

For brekkie a had a square sausage meat on toast with and egg on toast, for tea had a ribeye steak with baby closed mushrooms, micro chips all fried in real butter.

Been watching my recording of F1 practice from Malaya, had to record as crazy times live.

My new usb flash drive arrived, i have some somewhere but it's only a 16gb from SanDisk, i got it to copy all the holiday docs onto so i can transfer to O/H's Lappy to take with us., she she has a copy of docs, i have and her sister has a copy.

Get my Flu jab tomorrow, has to be done.

Mollie,  The gardener is the one i had when i moved in and he stayed with me through the whole process of sorting out the garden and putting down the weed matting over the whole area, it was a massive job.

No wonder friends ask if they can call in, to get their usual cheese and tomato's on toast.

Sorry to hear Daughters still got a cold, 2017 and we still get them, pity she couldn't help making the roast dinner.

Glad your cough is easing, it can be so worrying.

Emptybox, Glad you could get some jobs done.

Why have all the airlines got different baggage rules, crazy, got to look further into it.

I saw travelling through Russia, so big, so cold and so secure, what are they hiding?

Hicky

both

Emptybox

glad you too got the good weather and got some more work done.

Hope your tooth is ok and the irritation isn't infected.

How did Sarah Harding get on on Celeb Juice? I like her.

Hicky

well done sorting your greenhouse power out.

I think frying in butter is the best type of frying, so no wonder you enjoyed your meal.

Good idea to get all your holiday documents sorted in plenty of time before you go.

Hope the flu jab goes ok, does it make you feel ill after? Hope not.

Yes it is most inconenient how you have to work your way around all these different luggage allowances for different air lines.

Probably won't be around all weekend as we are going to see mum's sisters in Birmingham early tomorrow morning and staying overnight, OH and son are doing a few jobs round the house for them. My private carers will have mum.

Tired now (as usual!)...been busy sorting my bag for weekend, then went to mum's to sort her shopping etc, then took dog a walk, then had to go to asda with son and OH to do food shop.

Cough easing but still woke me a couple of times last night, then a nose bleed again woke me! Lucky it wasn't a bad one but enough for me to have to pinch my nose and wipe the blood onto a tissue.

Should see you all again late Sunday when we get back.

Have a nice weekend. xxx

M

Evening guys.
Another nice day here, sunny and warm. Been raining heavily tonight though.
Got a couple of big grass cutting jobs done with the spare mower. Had to put the height up a little, so as not to make a mess, but that's OK at this time of the year.

Tooth may be settling down a bit? Doesn't seem so sensitive today. Haven't tried chewing on it again yet though.
I'm going to see how it does over the weekend before I decide whether to call the dentist on Monday. My appointment to fit the crown is on Thursday afternoon.

It's actually been my knee giving me gyp today. Think it's a ligament or tendon that I've strained? It hurts if I try to bend the knee more than about 45 degrees.

Hicky. That's good that you got the wiring done for the greenhouse and sunhouse. Glad your USB stick came, so you can store your travel documents.
Square sausage? That's a traditional Scottish brekkie.
Good luck for your flu jab.

Mollie. Enjoy your trip to Birmingham.
Sarah did as well as you can do on Celeb Juice. Seemed happy and joined in the silly games.
Not nice having a nose bleed, especially in bed.

Watched Larry and George Lamb cycling, then 'A Celebrity Taste of Britain' now watching Anthea Turner In Therapy (all on CH 5).

emptybox

Evening Both.

A bit of a miserable day here, rain showers, sun spells, cool at 14c max hardly any wind.

Went out for brekkie as O/H wanted to book a Sunday Lunch tomorrow midday so best brekkie out today, then went for Jab, get one every year, never had a problem, asked doc about jabs for holiday, she said ring a nurse monday, she was running early so i was out well before i should have gone in.

Watched my Fi recordings, Lewis on Pole again.

Had a few stuffed olives before, it's a jar i got from Costco, a 2kg jar of big lovely olives with other baby goodies as well, like silver onion, 30mm baby thingies like cucumbers.

Just had a cheese Pizza for tea, very tasty.

Mollie, We usually use a butter type spread but it's only 50& butter so i buy real butter and slice into slabs, cut into quarters and layer between sheets of greaseproof put in a plastic container with lid and freeze, i get the salted butter as it lasts longer.

Never had a problem with the jab, my mother couldn't cope with it.

Have a good weekend away, hope it gives you a break from the normal weekend.

Emptybox, Bad news about your knee, assuming it's not Arthritis it must be when you were kneeling possibly.

This is the square sausage, you get 4 in a box, so i freeze the other 3, they do take a bit of cooking, they need 17 minutes for grill or pan, at one time i used to take the skin off big sausages because they are round so hard to cook in pan, when i took the skin off i would flatten the inside so it cooked better.

Edit: forgot to post pic of the square sausage pack.

Hi Hicky.
Bit of a showery day here, but I got my van washed and my grass cut, in between the showers.

Hope you enjoy your Sunday lunch out tomorrow.
Good idea to arrange your Holiday jabs while getting the flu one. Hope it doesn't give you any problems this year.
Have never tried square sausage myself.
That's good news about Hamilton.

Don't think I hurt my knee kneeling. Think I must have twisted it or something, but I can't remember an incident.
Been having some toothache today, so i think I'll have to call the dentist on Monday.
Funny thing is it seems to have lost the sensitivity to cold and hot drinks, but decided to have toothache for some stupid reason.

X factor OK, but there was a couple of good singers that they didn't put through, and a few average ones that they did. Wouldn't be surprised if the good ones turn up as wild cards.

Evening Emptybox.

Another rather miserable day here, not cold or wet 17c lots of cloud, no real sun, winds 6 <14.

Had an early 2 egg on toast brekkie with going for roast at 1pm,

Watched f1 warm-up from about 7,30 although i had it all recorded, this recorder is great it even asks if i want to record the follow-up program as well.

Had a lovely beef roast, very pleased with it, it had a refurb and we had a ÂĢ5 off coupon from the last time we went.

Took the last staging out of the greenhouse and took it to bits, it will give me the Aly sections i need for the vine framework to support the horizontal cords.

I should have really pruned the Asian pear tree, they are all small because of the load, i threw 50 away weeks ago, another 50 fell off this weekend, no-one really likes them because they have little taste, they say they taste of strawberries, well the makers do.

One of the sunset apples fell off before, i had it, very nice, will have to take them all off tomorrow in case they all fall, if apples fall off a tree you can't store them.

I think you get more than your share of wet weather, now you wash the van between showers, sounds funny.

I haven't found out what jabs i need for abroad, hope to check tomorrow.

Thats not good having toothache you sure need to tell them, something isn't right.

The problem with X-Factor is all the others that pretend they know whats going on, only one judge should have the say, not 4, crazy, Simon knows the score, he should control it all, noone else, the others should just say what they think not vote.

Hicky

Hi Hicky.
A windy rainy day here. It cleared up a bit late afternoon, but much colder than of late.
I suppose it is October.
Just went to the supermarket as usual.

Glad you enjoyed your Sunday roast.
A pear that tastes of strawberry? Good if it were true.
Well done taking the staging out of the greenhouse and figuring out a way to reuse it for your vine.

Toothache again tonight. I'll definitely phone the dentist in the morning, though not sure there's much he could do in the short term. Probably mean more appointments and even more expense.

Watched X Factor. Again they seem to get rid of some of the better singers.
Simon knows a lot about business, but not sure he knows much about singing?

Evening Emptybox.

A dry windy day today, could be worse i suppose, nights getting dark so early now.

Been sorting out bank cards for abroad also applied for what jabs needed, had to fill in a request form.

Made up some more parts for the vine support system.

Stored the apples from the Sunset tree as they are ripe, will have to take them all off the Red Falstaff this week as well as they are ripe.

Another 50 fell off the Asian pear tree, a small tree and i have thrown 150 pears, i should have thinned them earlier i suppose, my fault, i had one today, they are so juicy.

I have ordered a brush scraper thing for outside the back door as i think slugs getting in under my shoes.

Have ordered magnet hooks to hang some keys on.

Have ordered the greenhouse Louvre and auto opener.

Had bacon and toms for brekkie, on toast, had shrimps during the day with chicken wings for tea.

It just seems to have leapt into Autumn, the leaves of some trees are falling very fast.

Hope you phoned the dentist, you do need it sorted.

I think X-Factor has had it, don't think it can carry on like this.

Hope Molly enjoyed her time away.

Emtptybox

Sorry to hear about your tooth, hope you managed to contact the dentist about it as toothache is just horrid.

I agree, what are they thinking, getting rid of some of those good singers on X factor? Yes maybe the plan is to shuffle them around and bring some back later as wild cards, but who knows?

How is your knee today?

And has your lawn mower behaved?

Hicky

There is a lot for you to sort for this big holiday, so a good job you are tackling it well beforehand. What and where do you need injections for? Hope you were ok after your flu jab.

Shame you had to throw the pears, but even you are learning as you go along I guess.

I have started spraying white vinegar on the kitchen floor and that seems to be putting off the slugs from coming in. Hope you can control yours. Wonder why there are so many around this year?

Yes autumn seems to of suddenly arrived now the leaves have changed colour and are dropping off quickly.

Square sausages, I think my daughter would like those.. I'll go for your cheese pizza though. Was it a Sainsburyes one?

Had a mixed weekend.

We started off fine, set off early enough, then stopped for morning cofee and our sandwiches after a short drive. Then when it was time to leave OH couldn't start the car! We waited for awhile so he could try a few times, in the end he said he'd have to call the AA, and he had let his membership lapse. When guy came out (he went to wrong service station originally), he said the battery was flat and would need replacing. OH hasn't replaced it since we had the car. and we've had it for around 7 years. This is the 1st time the car had let us down. As we weren't AA members we had to pay full cost call out and quick membership so it came to ÂĢ200! OH regretted leaving his jump leads in son's car! We went to Halfords and they ordered a battery for us, but when OH went back to collect it a couple of hours later, it was too small! So it was late when we got to spend time with aunts, so OH and son couldn't finish aunt's job, (she wanted cupboard moving), but they managed to finish it on the Sunday. But we did go to the pub for tea with them, which was very nice. Next morning we went to Toby for brekkie, which wa snice. OH and son fixed her cupboard, then we came home and had an easy journey back.

Busy day today sorting out mum with carers, as they have been turning up late a lot at night and having to cut her calls short. Then her bus was an hour late this morning, so had to speak to day centre manager about that. She apologised and assured me they would make sure she got home on time to get her tea, which they did.

Then this afternoon went with son to hospital physio. Physio was really good, he moved son's legs all around and got him walking and doing certain exercises and has located the weak muscle problem (originated from a broken knee years ago) and given him a specific exercise to work on it and an appointment to go back next week.

Not a bad day weather wise, managed to get washing dry and dog out for a walk.

Looking forward to watching Corrie then Liar.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening both.
Very windy here today, but at least it stayed dry.
Had a load of heating oil delivered this morning.
Cost was about the same as in February when I last ordered, although it had gone down in between, so perhaps I should have ordered a few weeks ago.
Haven't had the central heating on yet, but it's getting colder again.

Phoned the dentist first thing and got an appointment for 4pm.
He didn't really know why I was getting the toothache, but thinks the crown might have come a bit loose.
He took off the temporary crown and reseated it. He also put something he called "varnish" on it, which he said should make it less sensitive.
I'm going back on Thursday, but he'll only fit the permanent crown if things have settled down.
Fingers crossed, but I haven't had any toothache this evening anyway.

Hicky. Yes you'll have to inform your bank that you will be going abroad or they might reject your cards when you try to buy something in Australia or the US.
Pity you had to chuck away all those pears.
There are a lot of leaves here as well. My back lawn was covered before I cut it on Saturday.
Hope all the things you ordered come.

Mollie. That wasn't a good start to your journey.
Surprised the flat battery let you start off at all, but I suppose it must have been on it's last legs then. I think you can only expect 4 or 5 years from a battery, but some do go on much longer. The battery in my old van was 10 or 11 before I replaced it.
I'm with the AA but they are expensive. There are cheaper ones like Green Flag I think.

I think my knee is slowly improving. But it does better on days I'm not working.
I'm still using the spare mower. Have given up on the other one at the moment, but I'll have another shot at fixing it when I get time.

What a job sorting all these carers and day centres are?
Pity your son is still having trouble from a broken knee all these years later. Hope the physio exercises help.

Watched Jamie Oliver then Superfoods then 'The Human Body' on BBC2.

emptybox

Evening Both.

Not a lot to report, cooler here, 13c sunny spells, wind at 19 dying down during the day to 11.

O/H brought my meds from the pharmacy, and dropped the itinerary form in to see if any jabs needed for the trip, on the web it says Singapore has the mosquito which carries everything but your luggage.

Have just ordered meals for delivery, chicken and sweetcorn soup and Beef & Tomato with 1/2 & 1/2.

O/H took her car in for a service and mot so i went with her as she was going to walk home and she thought it would be a good idea if had some walking practice, i had a 2 minutes rest after walking for 25 minutes and was only 5 minutes from home then so was very pleased.

I weighed the raspberries in the freezer, 1.3kg so i'll check if i need more sugar.

Meals just arrived but they are so hot i can leave them a while.

Mollie, I don't get after-effects from the Flu jab, lucky me.

My garden has the slate chipping floor so the baby slugs can move around and stick to the soles of my shoes as they have soles that can even trap the slate so slugs will stick in the grooves, the scraper brush comes Friday.

Yes, square sausages and Pizza all Sainsbury's.

Just remembered, O/H was just going to come home from work when one of the male staff told her to try some new sausages, on the packet it says Hot Dog sausages by Sainsbury's, they are big but fantastic, they take 18 minute to cook but worth it, you get 6 in a packet.

These are the ones: https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/w...rys-hot-dogs-x6-600g

Sorry to hear about the problems with the car, you are supposed to replace the battery after so long but no one will tell you when, i had the same problem once and the driver said, like all batteries, they stop holding a charge after a certain length of time, so you only know they have gone when it packs up.

Emptybox, So thats the secret with the tooth, Varnish, well i hope it stays calm for you.

At least you have oil for the Winter, thats the main thing, my heating has been on for weeks, but it's set to the temperatures i used last year, great system.

Going to start this lovely Soup, yummy, the tubs so big i could use it for washing in.

Hicky

Hi Hicky.
Dry here today but windy and cold. The morning wasn't too bad, but I needed my padded gillet and woolly hat this afternoon, and even then I was cold.
Hedge cutting, strimming, mowing and tree pruning today, plus I had to dig out a big shrub for someone.

No toothache again today, so hopefully I'll be able to get the crown proper fitted on Thursday after all. I think the nerve in that tooth must be particularly sensitive. But at least I know there's no infection or anything, and it was the temporary crown that was at fault.
Not sure what the 'varnish' is, but it had an unpleasant taste.

Can you get jabs against malaria? You'll probably need to sleep with nets over you when you are in Singapore or any mosquito region.
That's good that you can walk further. Do you think you'll need to do a lot of walking when you are away?

Those sausages look good. I like sausages but rarely get them as they don't keep long in the fridge, but I might try freezing them.
Glad you enjoyed your take-away supper.

Pity lovely Julia got kicked off the Bakeoff. But she hasn't been doing very well this last couple of weeks.

emptybox

Good Evening Emptybox.

13c today to start, cloud and strong winds all day, rained just before.

Had a piece of fish for brekkie, did it in a bag to avoid the stink, had 2 poached eggs and toast with it.

Didn't do much, the boot scraper brush came so fitted that.did a bit more tidying in the greenhouse, set the greenhouse heater up in my shed to test it.

Took some apples off the Red Falstaff tree, just the ones that wanted to come off, will leave the rest for a bit.

Am making out a little note book with the info needed while i am away, user names and passwords.

Collected a few buckets of leaves from the fig trees, i use the helping hand to save bending down, i will dry them and make ground leaves for the garden.

Been watching Tipping Point, can't believe how thick people are, don't they realise that when they press the button to drop the token that determines how it reacts at the bottom and whether it goes flat or stands up which can then ride over an existing one.

Some press at the wrong time all the way through, haven't they watched the show or can't they see what the problem is, i notice the host Ben Shepherd never tells them what they are doing wrong, but with ÂĢ10,000 at stake he wouldn't be allowed to.

At least you could get some work done when wrapped up.

Glad you had no more toothache, i wonder why teeth have nerves?

I am waiting to hear what the jabs are i may need from the surgery, when i was in Singapore last time we never had nets at night.

I hope we don't have to walk far as i really can't unless we stop while i get my breath back, o/h picked her car up and checked the distance we walked last night, it was 1.3 miles, quite a distance for me.

I always freeze sausages, i first divide into portions and put in small bags to freeze.

I saw Bake off, pity she went but you have to turn out the goods.

Just watching Antiques Road trip, love that.

Hope Mollie ok after her rather harassing weekend.

Hicky

both xx

Emptybox

sounds like you had a busy day work wise and it is really cooling down there.

Glad the tooth is not infected. Hope the crown fitting goes ok. As I have said the same happened to me but all was well when the propery crown was fitted.

My kids had that varnish put on their large double teeth when they came through to help protect their teeth I was told. So looks like it is quite widely used.

That is good the knee is improving, hopefully it will be back to normal soon.

Hicky

you did very well doing a long walk with just a short rest. You have improved well after your recent shingles then.Hopefully you won't need to walk further than that at a time, as 1.3 miles is a fair walk.

I bet my kids would enjoy those posh hot dogs.

Yes that was definately the case with our car battery, OH had no idea it was a broken battery till it packed up completely! We now have a new one so hopefully it will last well. Cost about ÂĢ125 so hope it will.

Good idea to make a notebook with all you need ready for when you go away. On a big trip like this, planning beforehand is so important.

We didn't have nets when we were in Singapore either. But their hotels were very clean and modern, and I dont remember seeing any insects at all. We did wear repelent when going out though.

Took son to hospital again yesterday and they fitted special insoles into his shoes that they said should help the pain. Then he has to go back to physio again on Monday. Today went with him to Cardiff as he didn't know where he had to go for a Uni visit, then went to Primark and got a few things whilst I was there.

Looking forward to the new Apprentice tonight, hope we have some entertaining apprentices and tasks.

have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening both.
Not very nice day here, cloudy and drizzly, but at least the wind wasn't as strong.
Got a mowing job done this morning, but it was too wet this afternoon to do any more.

Hicky. Glad your boot scraper came.
Good idea to write stuff down in the notebook for the trip as it'll be complicated.
That's good that you can use the tool to pick up leaves, without too much bending.

Yes, I've wondered why teeth have nerves, as they really only give grief and don't seem to give any advantage. I suppose they tell you if you've broken a tooth or done some damage to it?

Oh I thought you had to sleep covered in nets in places where there were mosquitoes, to stop you getting bitten? Maybe not.

Mollie. It seems to be common that the temporary crowns give people problems. You'd think they'd find a better way to fix them on.
When the dentist took off the temporary one to re-seat it he just used brute force to get it off. I thought it might be a more sophisticated technique.
I hope he uses the varnish on the crown proper, as it seems to make the tooth less sensitive. Not sure how long it lasts for?

The battery on my van is 5 years old, so I'm aware it could pack up. I bought one of these little gadgets that you plug into the 12v socket every now and again and it checks the voltage, to make sure the battery is charging properly.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/voltage_digital_panel_meter

Your son seems to be having big problems with his knee. luckily mine is still improving.
The Apprentice was good. Not sure who to look out for yet.

emptybox

Evening Both.

Cool today again, 13c but a cold wind early on, mainly cloud this morning, just a brief glimpse of the sun.

I had an interesting brekkie, a tin of new potato's sliced and fried with bacon sliced up and fried with microwave beans, when cooked all put into 1 frying pan and mixed up, when on plate coated in brown sauce, tasty.

My greenhouse Louvre window came, also the auto opener came.

Been cutting down some of the tomato plants that are finished so i can get the raised beds clear and ready for winter.

My new kitchen knife has been dispatched, it's only a 13cm utility knife but it's made from 67 layers of material, interesting from Procook.

This one https://www.procook.co.uk/prod...1342&fo_s=gplauk

O/H made a chicken roast dinner this afternoon, saves me cooking anyway.

Mollie, My legs ached a bit today, strange they didn't ache yesterday.

My notebook is almost finished, a bit more to go in.

We didn't have nets and we were in open rooms, we didn't even have glass windows and the walls didn't even reach the roof, the last foot was open.

Watched the Apprentice, some dense ones again, don't know how these people manage in their normal life.

Emptybox, O/H had a call from her surgery about the jabs for abroad, she needs a 20 minute appointment, they wouldn't say why as the secretary doesn't get told, not heard form mine.

I don't know why they did away with the voltage meter on the dashboard, it told you so much and they assumed that the battery red light on the dash would replace it, rubbish, the led only tells you that the battery isn't being charged., like when the belt breaks.

I'm going to have to pick up a lot of leaves, from all my trees and the big Oak that is overhanging, i need to find a way of getting that pruned as it shades my raised beds dreadful.

Hicky

Hi Hicky.
A nice mostly sunny day here, and quite warm in the sun.
Got a bit of work done this morning, but I had my dental appointment this afternoon.

Have now got the crown proper fitted to my tooth. Seems OK so far, but haven't tried to chew with it yet. Will give it a couple of days to settle down first.
Feels very different to the temporary one, but looks nice.

That was an interesting brekkie.
My tomatoes are starting to die off, but there's still a lot of toms on them yet.
Dug the rest of my potatoes today. Kept a few as seed for next year, and the rest should provide quite a few meals.

That looks like a special knife. Bit pricey though?
Glad your greenhouse stuff arrived.
Perhaps Singapore isn't in the region where mosquitoes are dangerous?
I presume you'll need the same injections as your OH. Funny she's got an appointment and you haven't yet.

Yes, it would be useful if cars had a voltage meter built in, but I guess they think it would just be something else to distract drivers
You'll maybe need to pay a tree surgeon to prune the big oak tree, presuming you are allowed to?

Watched Supervet the 'Russia with Simon Reeve'.

emptybox

Evening Emptybox.

Not too bad today, 13c and sunny spells, light 10 wind.

Had Salmon, fried with butter and some of my spices, with 2 fried eggs and some toast.

Decided to fit the greenhouse Louvre and opener, sorted, no real problem.

Finished cutting down the outside tomato plants and pulled them up, the big grafted one had some 2m roots, it travelled until it hit the end of the raised bed.

Still got a Big Boy tomato plant in the greenhouse which seems happy enough for now.

Just had Mac N Cheese as o/h brought it, i didn't ask.

My shopping came, thats sorted for a week.

I rang the surgery to see why they haven't rang, just as i thought, there was a note asking for me to book an appointment with the nurse, now booked for the 18th.

Glad you haven't got any pain so far from the new crown, hope it stays like that.

Yes, the utility knif is rather special, just felt like trying one out.

I've got 2 utility knives, both have been reground to single bevel but one has broken inside the handle, it's one that the tang goes right through the handle to the end and it's broken an inch inside the handle, heaven knows how you could ever break a steel tang inside the handle and thats not broken, it's a Good Housekeeping one.

The neighbour got some of the Oak tree pruned in the winter but when i had someone pruning it the neighbours hubby was shouting at us so have to be careful, the tree is on land fenced off but think it's the schools, or they are renting it all, but some big branches are hanging over me and over the school playing fields but it makes me lose so much sun, at a certain time of day it blocks the raised beds and greenhouse.

F1 is on this weekend again, from Japan but only highlights on C4.

Hicky

Emptybox

Glad you got good weather and you have your new crown fitted now. Hopefully all will be well with it now.

Hope you enjoy your home grown tomatoes and potatoes.

Did you get much work done today, it was a lovely day here today, hopefully good for you too.

Hicky

well done sorting out your greenhouse louvre ok.

Good job you rang the surgery else you wouldn't of known you needed an appointment. Is this to do with your injections?

Your knife looks like it is going to be a really good one.

Nusiance if the branches are blocking your sunlight, what a cheek shouting at you to be careful, as you are entitled to chop branches hanging over on your land.

How are your leg aches today? Hope they are feeling better.

Have been having a stressful time the last 2 days with mum's care and timings etc, so been busy with endless phone calls. They changed the bus route and drivers without notice, meaning mum did not have time to eat her tea at the end of the day, and my carers were hanging around an hour longer for the bus to collect her in the mornings. So I had to get them to reluctantly change the bus times back again, as the agency couldn't change the care times. (they are overworked already!).

Luckily I had a nice night out last night, a presentation night to do with son's drama. So had a rush to get ready. I had cooked but didn't have time to eat myself (I chose to style my hair and do my make up instead at tea time), so I had only eaten a piece of toast all day. I then drank a mini bottle of wine in the car (for my nerves from stressful day and nerves going out!) and then there was a free glass of wine at the do, and I drank another mini bottle on the way home, I had bought 3 for ÂĢ5 from the little shop.  So slept well last night.

Watching Corrie then Gogglebox tonight.

have a good evening both xxx

M

Hi both.
White frost on the grass first thing, but turned into a not bad day.
Got quite a few jobs done, but the grass was very wet all day.
Went into the place I usually buy mowers to see if they had any bargains, or any demonstrator models for sale, but everything was still full price. I see they are charging ÂĢ500 for the model that I bought last (the one that I can't get to go). I bought it at a discount for ÂĢ400 15 months ago.

Hicky. Glad you got the greenhouse louvre and opener fitted. Yes outside toms can have long roots.
That's good that you've now got the appointment for your jabs.
As Mollie says, you are entitled to cut off any branches of the oak tree that overhang your boundary, but not any of the others (without permission).

The crown isn't giving any pain, but does seem to still be a bit sensitive. Hopefully it'll settle down properly soon, but if not I guess I can live with it, or change to a sensodyne toothpaste.

Mollie. Sorry to hear you've have a stressful few days, with the arrangements for your Mum's care. Silly of them to change the transport without notice.
Drinking on an empty stomach? No wonder you slept well.

Watched Larry and George Lamb, then 'A Celebrity Taste of Italy'.

Good Evening Both.

Not a very nice day, cloud, rain and some wind, not cold but enough to stop me being enthusiastic.

Did very little, a bit more tidying up in the greenhouse while it was dry.14c though.

Made a spiced chicken batch for brekkie, not very good, not enough spice.

Had shrimps midday on toast.

Watched Lewis get Pole in Japan, looking forward to Strictly soon.

Watching Red Dwarf XI, things are that bad.

Mollie, Yes, they told o/h Tuesday when she took the form in that the nurse would ring, well they didn't, it is for the holiday ones, going to ask if i can get the shingles one as well.

The knife is fantastic, and with getting the chopping boards i get the free ÂĢ48 kitchen knife as well.

Legs have been ok today, mind you i haven;t done anything.

Why would they change the bus route and drivers, what a mess, the poor carers.

Thats not good, cook a meal then don't have time to eat, glad the drinks made up for it, and getting you some sleep, well needed.

Emptybox, Frost on the grass, i hear on the forecast that some places North could have some frost.

Maybe it's too early to get the mowers cheap, wait a month or so.

Not sure why the tooth should be sensitive, aren't the nerves dead, what is it sensitive too, sensodyne toothpaste, are you serious.

Hicky

both

Emptybox

Hope the senstivity dies down, it should do fairly quickly. Mine too was sensitive for some time as all this messing about with a crown does disturb the nerve and causes it to feel uncomfy for awhile. Yes that sensitive toothepaste should help.

Hicky...I dont think the nerves are dead in the case of a crown, they are only dead if they do a route filling or extractrion.

Shame you can't locate a cheapo mower yet, hopefully they will surface soon.

Gosh frost already, hopefully a frost means dry weather though. Still mild here, car showed 20 degrees today, so still in my t shirt, but do wear my cardy later in the day.

Hicky

glad your legs were ok today.

Good idea to get the shingles jab as well incase you are vulnerable to it now you have just had it. You certainly don't want that again!

Been busy sorting mum things out, my private carer reckons mum is not getting her full time allowance as carers are coming late/leaving early, so we will have to sort that out. Usual problem, overworked carers and underpaid so alwasy rushing. But my mum should not be rushed else she can get sore skin, or not enough food, so we need to sort it.

Been to costco today, lots of nice free food samples.

OH likes their cooked chickens, much bigger than the ones you get in supermarkets for the price. The dog too enjoys sharing it.

Watched x factor and some of the dancing.

Good night both xxx

M

Evening both.
No frost this morning and a fairly mild day.
Didn't do much outside. Was trying to fix a computer operating system that was refusing to boot. Didn't have much success.

Hicky. No the nerve in the tooth is very much alive. As Mollie says it only dies if they've done root canal surgery or taken the tooth out. It's sensitive to cold drinks or if I suck in cold air.
Don't think this crown is going to be a success though, as I'm still getting pain if I bite or chew on anything hard. Think that means the underlying tooth is cracked, and the only solution for that is extraction unfortunately.
But as I've just paid ÂĢ400 for the crown, I'm in no hurry for the tooth to be taken out. So unless I get tothache again I'm not going to contact the dentist just yet. But will definitely tell him the next time i see him.
It may settle down yet, but I think that's unlikely now.
They did X rays before doing the crown, so I know there's no decay anyway, but maybe they don't show up hairline cracks?

Pity your spicy chicken thing wasn't spicy enough for you.
I'd heard there was a new series of Red Dwarf coming, but on some minor channel?
Good idea to get the shingles injection as well as the holiday jabs.

Mollie. Pity the care for your Mum is proving problematic again.
Glad you got to enjoy the Costco free food samples.
You're lucky to still be getting 20 degrees. About 14 at best here.
X Factor was quite good.

Evening Both.

A rather Dull Sunday here, 14c but cloud all day, with light winds it said 13 but it was a lot less.

Went out for brekkie as o/h wanted to see if the garden centre dress shop had one,had a standard brekkie and got bacon ribs to tea and 2 ham shanks for dinner tomorrow.

Just had the bacon ribs with cabbage thin sliced and steamed.

Fitted another section of my framework, the entrance end is finished now, easy to take the glass out and then you can drill the aluminium frame with the holes needed to line up with the holes i drilled in the struts i made from the side bars of the staging i dismantled.

Watched the F1 race in Japan, Lewis won again.

Mollie, I don't know if they will give me the shingles jab but i will ask when i am there.

The problem with the carers isn't going to go away, as you say, underpaid and overworked, seems to be so many groups suffering the same.

I'm going to be going to Costco again soon as i forgot to get the big containers of dried milk for the coffee, we get 4 at a time, and don't have much left.

The twin packs of Chickens in the fridge section are good, big chickens and dead cheap, they are probably the ones they cook for sale as well.

I have started taking the Glucosamine moring and night as when o/h only took 1 she had her aches come back in her legs, we are pretty sure we used to take 1500mg in the tablets but they have changed to 750 with the rest being Chondruitin, the larger tablets seem to be just on sale in the US, not sure why.

I enjoyed the dancing, Strictly is very popular.

Emptybox, The strange thing is, normally to get pain in a tooth when eating it means something is loose or you have an infection, as you say, don't think it will clear up or last long, but after paying all that, don't know what the answer is, why didn't they just do a normal filling?

I don't normally eat chicken, i find it boring, i can eat it in curry all right as it gives it some taste.

Red Dwarf was good, it's wasn't taken just in one place, it was part out in the public, very funny.

Hicky

both xxx

Emptybox

try and give your tooth time to settle down without getting too worried yet. Remember most of your tooth has been drilled away and the nervea disturbed through that and also through only having a temporary crown for so long. Mine felt sensitive for awhile, but it did go away in the end. Let's hope it does settle down in the end.

Shame you didn't have much success fixing your computer.

Yes X factor was good, not sure about the 6 chair thing that we have to watch next though ? That always seems very harsh.

Hicky

sounds like you have been busy fitting your framework.

Nice that you made it out for brekkie though.

Good job you checked the glucosamine so you could get the dose right.

I too enjoyed the dancing.

Wow, how good and different did Ruth look with long blond hair? Poor Ruth, she is not a dancer, so struggles and just keeps getting low scores, but at least she is enjoying it.

Tonight Sheriden Smith is on singing from the show we saw her in, (Funny Girl), and she was fabulous in it.

Then X factor followed by my fave Victoria.

Yes as you say Hicky, the care system is not going to change any time soon, it is in chaous. Me and OH met with my private carer and mum this morning for brekkie to try and sort out how we are going to approach the problems we are having. We don't want to get any of them sacked but we think we have worked out what started our problems again this time. The agency have added a call before mum's which is a problem call and runs over time, making carers late for mum, so they are taking short cuts with mum. I will have to ring agency manager.

Even warmer here today, back to t shirt again. Had nice walk and sit on seafront, lots of people eating/drinking outdoors, and on the beach. Then sat on swingchair at home awhile and OH cut the grass.

X factor time, enjoy.
