Evening Mollie and Hicky.
Started off with rain today, but that quickly cleared and we had a sunny afternoon. Still quite windy at times though.
Got a couple of hedges cut and some lawns as well.

Hicky. Pity your shallots and garlic were smaller then expected.
The Laksa soup sounds great.
That's real dedication putting an edge on that kitchen knife.

Mollie. Glad the infection seems to be coming under control, but still sounds very nasty though. Especially as it is putting you off your food.
Yes, I'm looking forward to CBB. I've seen a list of those going in, but it's still changing I think, with some drawing out at the last minute.

Watched Location Location with Kirstie and Phil, then 'The Accused' on 5, about the background to a real trial.
Then I watched a couple of episodes of Game of Thrones on my Amazon box.

Evening Mollie.

Not bad here today, 18c cloud and sunny spells, was expecting rain but none came.

Hung up all the onions now, threw the shallots away, not big enough.

Had Mac & Cheese on toast for brekkie, just finished of the Laksa soup, another 2 bowls, also put the Belly Pork in the oven, will have some of that later.

The Kiwi Berries are still growing so pleased about that, a lot as well, not ready till September sometime.

Problem is when you find the ripening times for fruit there is so much difference, some plums say September and i've already had them.

No the pears would have needed another month at least to ripen.

Glad the meds are working, that saves a lot of problems.

So looking forward to the CBB launch tonight, can't wait.

I've seen the house, wow, fantastic.

that is good you got some lawns and hedges done.

I forgot about "The Accused". was it good?

Hicky

shame you had to bin the shallots, but glad your kiwi berries are doing better.

It must be hard to work out when the produce is ready to be picked, as with our varying weather, it all develops at a different rate.

That's unusual to have mac and cheese on toast for brekkie, I bet you enjoyed it though.

Have asked doc to change my tablets as they were giving me such a bad stomach. She has, but says the new ones might not work, so have to watch it. Just taken one, so hope it is ok, as my leg is swelling again.

Looking forward to CBB tonight,

Thanks for the link, the house looks lovely, nice and simple but a nice appealing clean design.

Enjoy the show, I love launch night.

M

Hi both.
Got an hour's work in and the heavens opened and I got soaked, and had to go home and change.
It brightened up later, so I got another job done, but has been raining again tonight.

Pity you didn't get on with the antibiotics Mollie. Hope the new ones work on your leg. Not good if it's swelling again.
The Accused was quite good. You didn't actually see inside the courtroom, but saw all the interviews with lawyers etc.
I couldn't work out if the guy was guilty or not, but the jury found him guilty of the fraud charges, and he got 2 years in prison.

Hi Hicky. Yes the CBB house looks great. Better than the civilian version.
Pity you had to throw the shallots out. Not quite sure what you use shallots for anyway?

So they've brought back the silly Launch Night secret mission. And as usual it's fallen flat.
An interesting mix of HMs Not sure if I'm going to like anyone yet.

how annoying you got a soaking. Good job you at least managed to get a bit of work done though. It has been raining on and off all day here today too.

The Accused sounds like it was quite interesting.

I am still enjoying my Question Jury. They seem to put an outgoing character in each week, one who annoys the others but entertains us.

Getting on much better with the new meds, it is not making me feel sick ,but tastes real strong, so I just hope they work now and get rid of it. The one that upset me was the pencilin based one. My leg still not right, but no worse. I watched a tv show last night and a man had cellultitus and was in hospital on a drip. Then I remembered that was what the doc said I had. So I looked it up on the nhs site, was shocked to see how nasty it is, and how it can spread. So I am taking it easy until the swelling goes down now.

Wonder if Hicky got in the garden today, or if he too had rain?

I really enjoyed launch night, I agree, the task was just plain stupid as he couldn't even hear above the row of all those people shouting. We dont' need a task really on opening night, especially as all those celebs were interesting. Looking forward to this series.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Both.

Not a bad day, 21c but cloud and sunny spells, was expecting rain but none.

Just had fried toms, pepper from the greenhouse and scrambled egg with fried bacon and toast.

Just had Cauliflower cheese, just made a curry, might have it tomorrow, i had yesterdays chicken and a Rendang curry kit to make it.

Gave 3 cucumbers to a neighbour who has grand daughter that likes to eat them.

Thinned out more of the Asian Pears as they are becoming too heavy when there are so many on each branch, took about 20 off.

Have ordered a tree paint from the USA, couldn't find it over here, i wanted Exterior white Latex Paint, got it from Ebay, 1 pint is ÂĢ25 delivery ÂĢ50, it protects from all suns, even the sun, insects, rot.

The Brown Turkey fig tree has got so many baby figs on it, usually 1 per leaf, any that grow bigger than a pea will have to come off before spring as they won't grow.

Mollie, Is Mac n Cheese unusual for brekkie, i eat anything any-time, depends what i have in, which is everything.

Hope they stop your leg swelling, you can do without that.

That clown Paul Danan pressed the Fire Alarm instead of the DR push.

Emptybox, Yes, Shallots are strange, they aren't an onion either, some recipe's call for Shallots instead of onions they have a different flavour as well, pity they didn't work out, probably failed because i enclosed the raised bed in plastic for the vine.

What a pathetic secret mission, totally pointless, heads should roll over that mess.

Hicky

Evening guys.
Not bad day. Not much sun but dry and calm up until 4pm when the rain started and I got rained off. Still I got a couple of jobs done before that.

Good that your new meds are better Mollie. There was someone on GPs Behind Closed Doors who'd had cellulitis in their hand, after a cat bite had caused an infection.

Hicky. Nice meals today, with produce from your greenhouse.
My toms are still all green; bit disappointing.
You certainly are getting a lot of cucumbers?
Haven't heard of painting trees white? Perhaps it's an American thing?

Wish Shaun had chosen the Trishia Paytas person for his killer nom. Think she's going to be annoying.
Liking Sarah Harding, Amelia Lilly, Helen Lederer and even Jemma Lucy at the moment (although she has a reputation for being trouble).

emptybox

Evening Emptybox.

A mixed bag of weather today, 19c but a few rain showers, some sun as well, 15 wind.

Put more stuff on the compost heap, told the neighbour i have enough grass for now, still got 2 bin bags full waiting to go on the heap, when i get all the stuff i have on the heap i will just cover it and let it rot, it should be turned every week or so but no chance of that.

O/H brought me brekkie in from work, she should be off but had to swap with someone, but i like the sausage Mac-muffin and a brekkie wrap, just had some curry and rice.Just had some of the swiss roll O/H brought back from her sisters yesterday, very tasty.

My toms are turning red, are you feeding every week with Tomorite, and removing leaves under the first truss and any leaves that are shading the tomato's.

This is the colour test i failed in the Military Police: http://www.colour-blindness.co...-colour-test-plates/

The Ishihara test, i have tried some of these with my O/H and she can see them all, i can't even see the ones i should be able to see if i was red/green confused, i can't see anything on the test ones at all, which is pretty serious, i knew i was pretty bad, but not this bad.

this explains about the tree paint: http://ivorganics.com

This is what i bought: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/IV-O...p2047675.c100623.m-1

Well, CBB should be interesting, wait till they settle in, after a couple of days.

Hope Mollie is OK and the infection is contained.

PS: got the shopping list to do, also need extra as have visitors Saturday, 3 grand children of one of my lads from his first wife, 1 lad of 19, 2 girls, 1 14, the other 16, i think.

good you got a few jobs done.

I saw that lady on GP show who had the same as me, then on Loose Women Andrea said she'd had it too. Getting bit better now, the meds taste awful, so daughter got me some Worthers to suck.

Hicky

glad you got a special brekkie treat.

thanks for the colour test, will have to get my boys to try it, and let you know, as they are red/green blind.

I too hadn't heard about tree paint so thanks for the links.

Sounds like you are in for a busy time Saturday, good job you got extra food in.

Am really enjoying CBB,

enjoy the show xxx

M

Hi Hicky.
Showery here, with little bursts of sunshine in between.
Got a small job done, but even then I had to sit in the van for a while and wait for it to stop raining.

That was good of your OH, bringing you brekkie from work.
Hope you enjoy your family visit on Saturday, and get good weather. I was going to say "so the little ones can play outside", but then I read your post again, and saw that your grandkids aren't so little at all.

I'm feeding with Tomorite, but I haven't removed any leaves. I'll maybe try that.
Having said that, I didn't remove leaves in previous years and I've usually had ripe tomatoes by the beginning of August.
I think it's just that I've hardly had any sun up here lately.

Thanks for those colour vision tests. I can see all of them, so my colour vision must be normal. I guess you can hardly distinguish any colours? That must make certain things difficult for you
So how do you know your tomatoes are red?
Shaun mentioned that test on BB, when he said he wasn't able to be a helicopter pilot because of the result.

Watched some of the tree paint video. Not much chance of trees getting sunburn up here.

Enjoying CBB so far. I think Marissa is the best looking, but I haven't worked out if she's likeable yet.

Hi Mollie. Glad you are getting a bit better.
Pity the meds don't taste good. Are they not tablets that you swallow?
It'll be interesting to see if your lads can see the patterns they are supposed to, if they have red/green colour blindness.

Evening Both.

Not too bad a day, cooler at 17c but no rain and sunny spells.

Went shopping to the far away Sainsbury's, got loads of stuff, had to get stuff in for the grand children, they want a curry anyway, have got rice on now, going to freeze it as it's nicer after it's been frozen as it separates the grains somehow, had brekkie while i was there as well.

Just had Salmon and fried Potato with some of my pickled cucumber.

The gardener called round, had been next door for hours, he came to get a cucumber and see how my garden was doing, pretty impressed anyway, he was amazed to see the grapes and the Kiwi Berries with all the berries hanging down from the overhead support system.

No eviction tonight, no live show either, glad anyway of that.

Mollie, No wonder i failed the colour test, i have a feeling they had an easier test before the Ishihara one which probably showed some problems, but after the second test, that was it, no way back, thought i had got out of the army, no, back to the Royal Signals, the first on the front line giving communications from the front to the Generals sitting by the fire.

Expensive tree paint, haven't told O/H she might collapse.

Emptybox, this rain sure messes your schedules up doesn't it?

The grandchildren are pretty old now, 12.14.19 is getting on a bit, O/H asked one how hot she likes her curry, she said between mild and hot, bless.

At the other house we used to all be very close, we used to cook, bake make fudge and toffee, and they had to help as much as they could, so we have even got cup cake mixes in case they fancy making some cakes with ready made icing as well, but we have thin link sausages in case they want a BBQ with burgers.

Because the mass of colour on the tomato's is constant, i probably don't see what others see, i can see the difference between how they start and how they should be, the bigger the mass of a single colour the easier i can see it, shades of most colours seem like a range of greys.

O/H often says, look at all those beautiful colours on the flowers over there, i can't see them at all at a distance, very frustrating really.

Sometimes i had problems in the dark seeing the traffic light, i knew the red was at the top but from a distance if only 1 light was on i couldn't tell which it was till i got nearer, then i could see the light unit which was fine.

Yes, Shaun said thats what stopped him being a helicopter pilot.

It seems there are other benefits from using the paint, i will be able to see the trunk a lot easier.

Enjoying CBB anyway, thats important, to me.

Hicky

oh dear at the weather meaning you didn't get much done today. August's weather here too has not been summer like. Yes like us, I am sure your tomatoes would welcome a bit more sun now.

Oh I didn't notice Shaun say about the colour blind thing, that is interesting.

Yes they are tablets you swallow, but even so you can still taste them and they leave a lingering taste inbetween.

Hicky

glad to see you are well stocked for your visitors. HOpe you have a lovely day with them, and the weather is ok if they fancy a bBQ. That is nice, in that you have cup cakes too.

I am not surprised the gardner was impressed with your produce growth.

Shame the colour test did not get you out of the army.

Sounds like it is best you keep the paint price secret from the OH then.

Weather improved today, only one shower, but still cloudy.

Enjoyed CBB today, looks like we are in for a good series.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Hi guys.
Cloudy windy and drizzly today. Not much good for work.

Hicky. Hope the curry is the right mix of mild and hot for the grand children.
Salmon, potato and pickled cucumber sounds good.
Not surprised the gardener was impressed with your produce.

Yes I could lmagine traffic lights could be a problem for you.
I think that test is probably the same one my cousin took when he tried to get into the Airforce. When he was told he couldn't be a pilot he gave up the whole idea.

Hi Mollie. How is your leg now?
CBB has been quite good so far. Really enjoyed hearing Amelia and Sarah singing the Girls Aloud song yesterday.
And the gunge task was good today.

emptybox

Evening Both.

What a day, i decided to make the curry in advance, made the rice last night and froze it, it was Rendang with chicken, thigh fillet, and chopped onions, wow, they all loved it, we had some fudge for them and some cup cakes, with Costco stopping the cookie frozen dough stuff and Sainsbury's having no frozen cookie do either it was a blow.

They have talked into making more fudge and treacle toffee like i used to do at the other house.

We had a fantastic time catching up on lost time, the Lad plays for Tranmere Rovers still, and the girls are lovely, they are 12 & 14, they all look so different now, don't they grow up quick?

Took them for a wander around the garden, they liked that as well.

Mollie, I think the girls will be regular visitors, they aren't at home at the mo as their house is being renovated.

I had bought a couple of bags of toffee Popcorn, they liked that, i used to get the popcorn seeds from Costco and make my own, it was microwave stuff, they loved it.

I used to make different toffee, fudge, treacle toffee, and cinder toffee, thats hard to get right though.

Had no rain at all today, happy about that.

Loving CBB.

A new program starts Monday C5 10pm "Make or Break" it's a challenge to Love Island.

Emptybox, I was hoping they would like the Rendang, though Madras might be too hot for the girls, can't remember what curry i used to make them, they love the chip shop curry as well, and i always have that in. the 600g of chicken thigh fillets was just enough, although one of the girls later asked if there was any left, no, if i had known they would love it i could have made more.

Yes, that colour test is used now for all the jobs that need a good colour vision, many people have no idea how bad they are.

Hicky

shame it was not good enough for work. How are you standng work wise now? Behind or ok?

Leg a lot better than it was thanks, but still looks a bit pink around the scab bit, So not 100% yet, but I still have some meds to take yet.

Hope your back is still ok and you are symptom free.

I reckon you enjoyed your Saturday night sphag bol treat tonight?

Yes I too thought the Sarah/Amelia song was lovely, I like both of these 2.

And as you say, the gunge task was funny.

Hicky

so glad the visitors all enjoyed themselves and loved your curry. Shame about the dough, but good job you have the fudge and cup cakes, so they certainly didn't go short. Yes I bet they liked your garden as it has so many interesting things to see. That wil be nice for you if the girls are regular visitors. Where are they staying if their house is being done up?  Yes microwave popcorn is lovely, my daughter often does that for us. I remember how you used to make sweets.

Yes it must be so upsetting and a shock for people like Emptybox;s cousin who are turned down for a job, for something like a simple colour blind test, when they might of not even been aware they had a problem.

Went to Costco today and got some lovely food samples. The curry flavour pasta was my fave. We also went to M and S, I bought a German style rye loaf there, as I love their rye bread. Anyone else tried it?

Looking forward to CBB, but I think it is real bad how they are even giving up on CBB by shoving that too out to an unpopular time of 10.30pm!

Goodnight both xxx

Evening.
Sunshine and some heavy showers here today.
Got some strimming done in my own garden, which was needing some attention.
I also removed some of the shading leaves from my tomato plants, so we'll see if that helps any ripen.

Glad your curry went down well Hicky. And they have talked you into making some more fudge and treacle.

Mollie, I'm not too far behind workwise, as long as I can get plenty done next week. But I think the weather is still going to be changeable. Could really do with a dry spell to get on with grass cutting and hedging now.
Glad your leg is getting better. Hopefully by the time you've finished your course of antibiotics it'll be back to near normal.
My health is not bad at the mo. No real symptoms and back only giving twinges every now and then.
No I don't think I've ever tried a rye bread loaf?

Been watching the athletics as well as CBB. Last night I was dodging back and forth to make sure I caught Mo Farah winning gold, so tonight the late time of BB suited me as I could watch the athletics first.

Evening Both.

Not too nice today, dull some rain, very little sun, 17c thats all.

Didn't do much, was sharpening some shears for the gardener, whoever had them in bits last put the washer that should have been under the spring washer under the bolt head, very bad as the spring washer was grinding through the blade so the becomes loose and doesn't cut any more.

Watched TV for most of the time, had a BBQ for brekkie and the BBQ went up in flames, something must have dropped alight onto the lower drip tray and up it went, turned the burners off but it made no difference, closed the lid, it just had to burn itself out, hope it hasn't done much damage.

O/H made a Lamb Roast dinner, that was rather nice.

I made up another lot of Pork Rib spice as she had got me a pack of ribs, they are sorted and put in the freezer.

Mollie, The girls are staying with her mums brothers family, not sure where the lad is staying, probably with a mate.

When i was working in Germany at the weekend they couldn't get fresh rolls or bread and they used to serve us a dark coloured solid bread, not sure what it was, but when you buttered it there was no give, it was solid, i got used to it though.

They may put it out later either because of the language or because they don't get enough watching in prime time.

Emptybox, I've list the ingredients that i am short, i do have some of it. just need to get to a shop now, can't believe how much stuff i used to make, i used to take it to work and give everyone samples now i remember.

CBB on at 9pm tonight, will have to keep an eye open.

Yes, you tomato's don't need all the leaves, the lower ones can come off, also, any branches with some good tomato's and flowers at the end of the truss, cut these flowers off as they are holding back the rest of the truss.

Stop all plants at 5 or 6 trusses and make sure it doesn't regrow.

good to hear you are not too far behind work wise. Hope you do get some ok weather for next weeks work. Pleased to hear you are healthy now.

Hicky

good job you were able to sharpen those shears for the gardener.

at your BBQ going up in flames, hope there is no damage.

Bet you enjoyed your lamb roast today, even nicer if someone else makes it for you.

Yes that sounds like rye bread, its dark in colour and quite heavy. Very tasty though.

I remember you taking sweets to work, and you used to make a lot of variety. But of course growing your own fruit/veg that you do now is the healthier option.

Having to record CBB tonight as finding Diana so intreresting. The only night I could of done with it being on later, it isn't!

Went to Ikea today, kids had meatbalss and I had meatballs with no meat. ... with mash and peas.

Enjoy CBB.

Evening.
Raining most of today.
Got a soaking when I went to the supermarket and had to unload my trolley into the van.

Pity you had a flaming BBQ Hicky. Hope it hasn't caused any damage.
That was good of you sharpening some of the gardener's tools.
Yes, I've taken off most of the flowers on the tomatoes that aren't going to come to anything, and I cut the growing tips off when they got to 5 trusses.
I have some large toms on the lower trusses, but they are still resolutely green. They might come yet?

Hi Mollie. I saw that Diana prog, but stuck to the athletics prior to CBB.
Hope you enjoyed your balls with mash and peas?

Pity the weather was so bad yesterday and you got a soaking. Hope it was better today.

Let's hope those nice large tomatoes do turn red. I seem to remember, they took awhile last time, didn't they?

Yes the veggie balls in Ikea are delicious.

Hope the weather was ok for Hicky to get in the garden. Wonder what unusual brekkie he had today?

A nice day here today, not much sun, but warm enough to get my washing dry, all 5 loads.

Glad to see CBB is on at 9 today.

Will watch the Adopt a Pet show on C4 before CBB.

Enjoy the show. xxx

Hi Mollie.
Woke up to sunshine, so I was fooled into thinking it was going to be a good day, but it very quickly turned cloudy. I got most of a job done, but got rained off by some of the heaviest rain I've seen.
Had to sit in the van till it eased a bit, because I didn't even want to drive in it.
Really sick of all these showers now.

Got a dentist's check up tomorrow morning, so I'll only have the afternoon to work.

Yes last year the toms were a bit late as well, but I think I'd had one or two by now? The year before (2015) I ate my first one at the end of July.
There's time yet though.
Glad you could get your washing dried.

Interesting CBB episode. Not sure if I feel sorry for Sarah or not, but Jemma was showing her not so nice side towards her.

Evening Both.

This has just been posted, it's yesterdays, it wasn't posted, strange.

So todays will follow.

Quite a miserable day here, little sun, mainly cloud, slight wind, 17c.

Made some more cucumber pickle, used 4 cucumbers the rest of the shallots and i had the spices and vinegar.

Just had some spiced pork ribs and 2 Somosa's, had sausages, fried tomato and egg for brekkie.

Have taken the insect netting off the apples as the moths stop breeding at end of July, hopefully.

Have planted a few cuttings from the grape vine, i was wondering if i could grow one in the greenhouse, although it's a bit small, but everything is movable.

The paint came from the states, it arrived at 8.30 this morning, good job i get up at 8am, it has a bag of powder with a vial of oils, but all the instructions are to make up the whole tin, it makes a pint when you add the water but i think that too much for me, it says any over can be frozen for up to 2 years, i've got to get some smallish paint brushes now.

Mollie, The grindstone will be very handy, also the wire wheel i fitted, took the course stone off, have wanted one for years.

Haven't checked the BBQ yet, will have to look at that.

I did enjoy the treacle toffee, looking forward to making that, the girls liked the fudge best

Evening Both.

Not sure why the last post didn't go.

Had a bacon batch for brekkie, just made a Spag Tag, yummy.

Just did a bit of piling up on the compost heap, added some more shredded card and some shredded leaves, watered the heap and covered with a tarpaulin.

No sun today, cloud and slight rain at times this afternoon.

Gave my neighbour a jar of spicy pickle, hope she likes this new recipe.

O/H got all the ingredients on the list i gave her so can start cooking goodies now,

I'm considering having a vine in the greenhouse, if i use my spare tub with the water tank internal i think that would be fine, i can arrange supports fairly easy because i can fix hangers to the structure very easy and run vine cord across for support.

Mollie, It's eviction Tuesday today, but it's vote to save so anyone could go., the most uninteresting i suppose.

Emptybox, I have Tomato's on every truss, some higher than me, the bottom ones are turning red ok so i think they will all be fine, there is a big Oak tree just the other side of a fence, on the West side, it's takes quite a lot of sun from the raised beds if the sun is out at that particular time.

Sarah is very sensitive isn't she, heavens, she should have stayed at home.

Hicky

Emptybox

shame your work got rained off, but good job you had nearly finished by then.

Yes I can understand why you are fed up of all the showers. Very annoying especially when you have work to do.

HOpe you got on ok at the dentist.

I do feel sorry for Sarah, there are some nasty HM's in there, Paul and that Jemma are just horrible. Sam and Jordan are annoying and childish. I am hoping Sarah will get more confident by sticking to the nice HM's,like Sandi.  I think Paul hurt her because she thought he was friendly with her after they like had chats about their problems. But he turned on her.

Hicky

I was wondering where you were, but you weren't any where really, it was just another lost post, that got found later!

Let's hope the insects keep away now you have taken your nets off.

That would be nice if you could have a grape vine. I am sure you will find a way to make it work with all your garden experience.

I bet your neighbour will enjoy the pickle.

Strange to have an eviction night on a Tuesday. Wonder if Emma will do it?

Our docs closed recently and we were transferred to a big surgery. I am not impressed. We used to get same day appointments any time we rang, no problem. But today I rang the docs surgery we have been tranferred to at 8.45 as I finish my meds today and doc has said she was not sure they would work, so thought it best to have my leg checked. Receptiionist refused to give me appointment, "if you dont' ring at 8, you can't have one" she said. I will just have to keep trying to ring tomorrow at 8 she said. I rang after 8 because last time I tried at 8, I gave up after 15 attempts as by 8.20 it was still constantly engaged. "You can book a routine one but it is 4 weeks ahead" she said. I told her my meds finish today and she said "if you dont have symptoms, you dont' need any". Even though I said I had a skin infection that was still there, and doc has said meds might not work, it was still "no, nothing availiable. Try to keep ringing at 8am tomorrow"...probably meaning with any luck you will go away!   Sometimes I think this method is being introduced all over the country as a ploy to get people to pay to move towards seeing a GP private, as you can see someone straight away then.

Weather not bad here today, dry but cloudy all day, just a bit of drizzle tonight.

Looking forward to CBB tonight, not a lot on tv till then though.

Wonder who'll go? hope it is Chad as he is so boring, but I can't see a male being the first to go.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening both.

Went to the dentist this morning. Unfortunately he recommended that I need a crown on a back tooth (top left). He says it is starting to crumble, and if he tried to fill it again it wouldn't last long.
I haven't had any trouble with the tooth, but I thought I'd better go with his recommendation, even though the crown will be ÂĢ430 (private).
I've been with him for years and he's always given good treatment and advice, so I trust him, even so I'll be annoyed if this crown is any trouble, because as I said, I've had zero problems with this tooth, although it has a very large filling in it that was done 10 years ago.

It needs two appointment, the first one of an hour where they file the tooth down and take impressions, and fit a temporary crown. And then the second one two weeks later where they fit the proper crown. The first appointment isn't for 6 weeks, so I've a bit of time to save up for it.

Turned out to be a lovely sunny afternoon, so at least I could get on with my work today, after the dentist appointment.
When I went to the dentist at 10am the temp in my van was only 9 degrees, but by mid afternoon it was 23 degrees. Went back to being chilly this evening though.

Pity you forgot to send yesterday's post Hicky.
Hope you've judged the correct time to take the insect netting off, and those pesky moths aren't still mating. Also hope your grape cuttings thrive.
That paint sounds rather complicated, if you have to mix it up yourself?
Glad it looks like you'll have a good tomato crop. Too early to say for mine, but I might get a glut in September, you never know.

Doesn't sound like a very good Doctor's surgery Mollie. I thought the doctors would be paid more the more patients they see, but maybe it doesn't work that way? I think it's a general thing though that they are trying to stop people going to see them.
At my surgery you are supposed to ring at 8 am as well, for an emergency appointment. But they don't seem to stick rigidly to that, as I rang up one day at about 10am, and was seen that afternoon.
If your leg is still bad I guess you'll just have to persevere in trying to get an appointment.

Pity Marissa went, as she was the most attractive one in there, although I still can't decide if I like her.
Didn't watch much of the eviction show as i was watching the athletics and forgot to turn over. But glad Sarah stayed and got a good reception.
I agree paul and Jemma have shown themselves up, and even Amelia wasn't really sticking up for Sarah when she was speaking to the others.

Good Evening Both.

Dropped a sample into the docs, called in the bank as i need another account for hmrc money, got a call from surgery, have appointment tomorrow afternoon, as sample had a lot of blood in it, still waiting for the hospital appointment which never came with the urologist man.

Had brekkie out while which was good, had to make an appointment for the bank next Tuesday.

Took another couple of vine cuttings, trying to grow a new vine, if it doesn't work i'll just buy one, not really a problem.

3 of the baby fig trees i propagated are doing very well.

Just made another pan of Laksa soup, had 2 bowls, tons left for tomorrow, i put jumbo prawns in this time.

Mollie, Thats how my surgery works, ring at 8am, tried that, when i got through all the appointments had gone, so i went in the surgery at 8am and waited to get an appointment, i got one for 10.30am so went to get food.

Not happy Marissa went, she is lovely, Shaun giving her the killer nom sealed it probably.

No, they never vote a feller out first, like you, would have preferred Chad.

Thats awful to be treated like that and you can't even talk to a doctor about the problem, crazy.

If you need urgent help you can go to the walk in centre or A&E, you have to wait but you will be seen, you could wait 4 hrs so need plenty of time in hand, bt if you can't see a doc it's the only way out.

Emptybox, The problem with a large filling, you can't do another one as the grinding to clean it out would destroy it, so expensive, thats a lot of lawn cutting.

Thats a long tome to wait for the tooth to be sorted, you should have asked if you could cut their grass to pay for it.

I was thinking of leaving the tree painting toll the leaves come off to make it easier.

It doesn't go down that low at night, it has been down to 12c, but normally about 15c.

I might have forgot to post by going off to find a link, or maybe didn't find it but never came back.

The tomato's seem to be turning colour each day so i'm hopeful that all the trusses will turn, got so many trusses laden at the mo.

Yes, annoyed Marissa went, also Paul can be very nasty, he's like a little dog that gets it's teeth in you and won't let go.

Sarah is ok but needs to get some balls, she's too timid to be in there.

Oh dear about the dentist. and these crowns are so expensive, I know because I too had to have one awhile back. But if the crown is the answer to keep a working tooth, that is for the best. As Hicky says these big fillings can be a problem after some time.

Good job the appointment isn't for awhile as you say.

That is lucky you at last got some decent weather.

Oh dear at you missing some of CBB, but as you say, it is good Sarah stayed.

Hicky

Sorry to hear the sample had blood in it. Hope your appointment can sort some meds out to clear it up. Maybe you should chase up the hospital appointment too when you go tomorrow?

Good for you having brekkie out. Bet you enjoyed that.

Glad your fig trees are doing well.

That was a good idea to turn up at the surgery to make sure you got an appointment. Yes, no wonder A and E is so busy as some feel it is the only way to see a doc. When I rang again today at 8, it took me 17 times to get through, but when they answered at 8.04am they said all appointments had gone. But when I said I wasn't sure if I needed more meds, they said the doc would ring me back. Which she did, but of  course she said she needed to see my leg. So asked me to go in at 10.30. So why they didn't just give me an appointment in the 1st place, I don't know, it wasted docs time ringing me first. She said it was a lot better, but gave me meds for another 5 days.

Enjoy CBB.

I see they have shoved BBOT to another channel tonight, that 5*, looks like they are giving up on that show.

Goodnight both xxx

Hi Mollie and Hicky.
Another nice day here. Sunny but a bit windy. Not as warm as yesterday. It did touch 20 degrees at one point, but was mostly around 17.
Got a couple of big jobs done plus another small one.

A parcel came at 2pm. Luckily I got a text to say to expect it between 1.50 and 2.50pm, so I finished one job and came home just in time to sign for it, so only had to wait for 10 minutes.
It wasn't anything exciting. Just a freebie from my Vodafone top-up points. I was told that the points were running out, so I had to chose something, so chose to get one of those mobile power banks for charging your mobile phone. Pretty rubbish and I'll probably never use it, but there wasn't much choice.
But hey....it was free.

Hicky. Why do you need a separate account for HMRC payments?
That's bad that you're still having waterworks problems. I thought that had been sorted out. Hope you get a consultant's appointment soon.

Yes, I suppose getting a crown will give the tooth the best chance of surviving long term. And as it's one of my main chewing teeth I need to keep it.
Very expensive though for what it is. Think it would only be half that if it was an NHS dentist, but when my one went private only I decided to stick with him, rather than trying to find an NHS one.
I suppose I've been lucky in not needing much treatment over the years.

Hi Mollie. Have you had any problem with your crown? Does it just feel like a normal tooth?
Glad you finally got an appointment today, and the doc was pleased with your progress.
Think they've moved BOTS because of the football?
I see Jemma was picking a fight with Sarah again tonight.

Evening Both.

Cool today, 16c sunny spells this afternoon, dry with 10 wind.

Not done a lot today, had a bacon & egg roll for brekkie, then because i had the docs at 3pm, on antibio's in case, then O/H fancied Fish & chips so went to small chippy/eating place thats open all day in West Kirby, i had a mixed seafood dish of battered squid rings, battered fish pieces, breaded prawns and salt & pepper squid pieces with a salad, very nice it was.

Have all i need for the sweet making now, could start in the morning.

Have ordered all sorts of fixings for inside the greenhouse, am working on what to do in  the winter to allow for the vine.

Mollie, The doc is going to send a letter to see about what happened to my appointment, i knew i would have blood loss, the one who did the cystoscopy said so, something to do with the surface blood vessels of the prostate.

Hope these meds sort your leg, what a lot of bother for you to get seen.

I noticed Bots was not on C5 just happened to pass 5* and noticed, that that i watch Bots, he is an idiot, they should call it the Meme show.

Emptybox, If i don't have a separate account for hmrc the money will get used up if it's in one of the other accounts, it will make it easier to keep track as i'll have to pay them once a year buit can pay in from the joint account that was paying hmrc every week, it's just tidier.

I've been waiting for a new appointment with the consultant since the 6th March, no sign of one, thought i may have to wait 3 months, it's now 6.

I see the noms for tomorrow are the same as Tuesday, minus Marissa who went of course, wonder who will go now.

Hicky

Hi Hicky.
Another nice sunny day here. Into the 20's mid afternoon.
Allowed me to get on with my work again.

Pity you are back on the antibiotics. But better to be safe I suppose.
Ah, so they think the blood might be from what's left of your prostate?

At least you got a meal out. I always find squid very disappointing. Very rubbery and very little flavour? Love prawns though.
Yes I suppose a separate account might make it easier? I just operate with the one current account for business and personal, even though I know I should really separate them.

I hope Sarah stays. I know she can be a bit miserable, but a lot of the others seem to be ganging up on her.
No idea why Paul went off on one to her? Nothing she said justified that.
My guess is that Karthik may go.

That's great you had a couple of nice days on the trot, all helps you get on work wise and that was a good parcel delivery system, as they closely gave you the time. I wish they would all use this method to save us wasting our days hanging around. And of course, even if you might not use it, if it is free, you have to go for it.

I think it is real hard to get an NHS dentist now, we haven't got one here either, so my crown was expensive too. I must of had it done some 8 years now, and touch wood, I have had no problems at all. Like you it was a big tooth that I use a lot, and yes it just feels like a normal tooth. So don't worry, the worst bit is just rather annoying when you have to wait with a gap for it to be fitted. It felt a bit uncomfy/sensitive for a short while, but not painfull. But you soon get used to the crown.

I am with you and so hope Sarah stays. Paul was awful with her and that Jemma made me mad smirking when she got Paul to go off on one at Sarah. Sarah did not mean anything, she was just chatting to the others, and mentioned he had had meds, didn't even say what they were. I feel sorry for Sarah, I think at times she is socially awkward in a large group, and I think the others see her as a threat, as she is the most well known one, so work on her awkwardness to gang up against her. Nasty lot!

HIcky

Let's hope the antibiotics sort you out again. Do you have to have a test to see if the meds clear it when you finish them? Or is the doc not even sure if it is an infection, if you think you should expect some bleeding? That's good the doc is going to chase up your hospital appointment.

Glad to hear you had a nice fish meal out after as a treat. But squid, I shudder to think of eating that!

Did you manage to start your sweets today? Which ones are you making?  I know you said the kiddies liked the fudge.

Not a nice day here today. Raining on and off all day, had to carry the dog half way back home on her walk, as now she is old, she walks slow and it started to drizzle.

My friend came to visit yesterday, so my routine changed and I forgot to post. I made her fave cheese and tomatoes on toast and she had a slice of the orange cheese cake my daughter made. So it was nice to have a bit of company.

Looking forward to CBB tonight. On early this time, gosh they are really swopping and changing time wise, aren't they?

Daughter made me veggie sausages, mash, carrots and peas for tea. The rest of the family have normal sausages.

Think we'll enjoy some popcorn whist we watch CBB. (the one you put in your microwave).

Enjoy the show. xxx

Evening Both.

Just cloud today, no rain, no sun, 18c with 7-13 wind.

Made a portion of Treacle toffee but it looks as though it didn't work, don't think i boiled it long enough but thought i could smell burning after 18 minutes, couldn't really tell the temperature because on the thermometer they have banned mercury and i can't see the liquid they use now, O/H said it's red but i can't see it and she was having 40 winks, i tested it in the cold water and it seemed fine, i will reboil tomorrow if i can get it out of the tray.

I have taken out the 2 tier staging from the greenhouse and taken it to bits, it takes up too much room and i have one the same size but single tier, they were free anyway.

My shopping arrived as usual so i'm fine now.

Had bacon and tomato rolls for brekkie as i'd ordered 2 rolls.

Just had a curry from the freezer, it was one of the madras ones, it had some potato in it but i boiled a small portion of rice.

The Kiwi Berry vine seems ok, pity it doesn't want to grow were i want it to, think i will have to look close at it in the winter, it is so dense with branches now i can't do anything, also it's full of fruit.

Emptybox, The lady who did the cystoscopy last time said the blood vessels were on the surface, that where they had carved it out, she said it would bleed if i did any strenuous work, it usually bleeds a couple of times a month, not as bad as \Monday and Tuesday though, but she said she would refer me back to the consultant, that was March 6th.

Karthik is fave to go tonight, or Chad, Paul was upset because Sarah said he was taking pills which he told her in confidence, he has a drink problem same as Sarah and trying to fight it.

Mollie, He gave me the Antibiotics as a precaution, i don't know if i have an infection, i think he was assuming that if blood gets in the urine then urine will get in the blood.

Yes started the sweets, pity i started with the Treacle Toffee, i said to O/H the treacle toffee didn't set, she said it didn't set at the other place either.

That was nice, having a friend for company, ooh cheese and Tomato on toast and cake, she's be back again next week.

That meal you daughter made you sounds nice, i used to get the popcorn seed packets from Costco, a big box of packs for a few pound, not sure if they still do them, the granddaughters loved them, well one of them did.

I've got mini Cadbury chocolate bars to watch CBB with.

CBB on at 8.30 till 10pm, then Make or Break, i watch that as well.

Just thought, think i have a pack of the stuff to make prawn crackers, will check on that.

Hicky

Evening both.
Not very nice day here, so my little run of good weather seems to be over.
Started with rain and finished with rain, and it was cloudy and windy inbetween.
Got a few jobs done between the rain, but I'll have to work tomorrow to keep up.

Nice that your friend came to visit Mollie.
Yes they keep swapping the times of CBB around. Tomorrow night it is on 5star at 9pm then repeated on 5 at 10.30pm. Very strange.
Did you forget the pushchair for your dog? You could have sprinted home with the dog in that.

Good to hear you haven't had any problems with the crown. Yes I'm not looking forward to having a temporary one for a fortnight, as you are supposed to try to eat on the other side, and try not to dislodge it when flossing. Sounds a pain.

Hi Hicky. Pity your treacle toffee didn't work out this time. Yes, I remember you having trouble with it before. At least all your shopping came.
Strange if the blood vessels still haven't healed after your TURP op. I would have thought they would cauterise them at the time to stop them bleeding?

Paul was told a false version of what sarah had said about the meds. Brandi implied that Sarah had said he was on pills because of trying not to drink, but Sarah had actually said that she thought Paul had been given a med because he couldn't sleep.
And anyway he couldn't have thought that anything he had told Sarah in the House would be confidential, as BB could easily have aired it.

Glad Sarah and Chad have stayed, and we got rid of Karthik and Trisha walked out soon after the eviction. So it was all win tonight. Just a pity we couldn't have got rid of Jemma as well.
Karthik came over well in his interview with Emma, but then was completely obnoxious on BOTS.

Evening Emptybox.

A cppl day here, slight rain, no sun just cloud 17c with 15 wind.

Had another go with the Treacle Toffee, reboiled it this morning, i boiled it to the 140c as stated, had the same problem, it was hard enough to crack when hit but very sticky so couldn't handle it, did a bit of thinking and did some checking, the temperate for biled sweets and nut crunch is over 150c, so i reboiled it all again and using my little thermal probe i got it to just over 150 and it's fine, not sticky at all, it does say keep away from humidity as it will go more sticky, the only problem with it being brittle is that you have to suck it instead of chewing it, but you couldn't really chew it was if stuck to your teeth, now i know what the problem was years ago.

I'll look at Fudge Monday i think, even that is hard to do, time and temperature are so critical, i have ordered a digital toffee thermometer for the future but it might not come till the end of the month.

Something has eaten the flower heads off the top of the Sunflowers, one massive head about 15cm wide had all it's seeds taken and opened, but on the other sunflowers, some 8ft high have the whole head missing, that could be the squirrel.

The onions and the garlic are drying well, hanging in bunches in the Gazebo.

Those pears that caused a branch to break are now ripe, glad i didn't throw them, the ones on the tree are massive, same as some of the apples on various trees.

I think the blood vessels have grown after the op was finished, they did seal all vessels as part of the op, the one doing the cystoscopy said, it's got a good blood supply anyway.

Oh, didn't realise Paul was told a false version, messages passed on seldom are the correct.

Yes, Trisha didn't like the way some of them celebrated when Karthik left, she thought it was disrespectful and it showed what they would do when she left so she walked out.

Thought Sarah would be OK, wasn't sure about Chad.

Hicky

Emptybox

shame the good weather broke for you yesterday, hope it improved today, and hope you enjoyed your sphag bol.

Yes unfortunately I didn't take the doggie pram yesterday when it rained, I don't tend to take it when it is a short walk, but of course even on a short walk, you can get quite wet if it starts to rain.

Yes it is a nuisance when you have the temporary crown, but it is not for long, and of course the proper crown is so much better when you get it.

Hicky

glad you worked out the treacle toffee problem in the end. Good luck with the fudge Monday, making sweets is complicated.

Wonder what got at the sunflower heads? How annoying.

Good job you kept the pears now they are ok after all.

Let's hope these blood vessels don't give you much problem.

I've been watching "Make or Break" too, gosh can't understand why some of these couples stay together with all the cheating and distrust!

Glad to see the back of Trish , felt sorry for Karthick in that he could of stayed.

Sarah/Chad thing is confusing.   Is she supposed to have a boyfriend or not? She said something about breaking up with a guy in Manchester before she went in the house. So does she not want to get with Chad because she doesn't want a relationship in the house, so may get hurt, or is it because she just broke up with a bf on the outside?

I think she may end up getting hurt there, as she does seem vulnerable.

Me and family went to Costco, they all like going there, it is the free food samples that does it. They have a lot on Saturday afternoons.

Enjoyed CBB tonight. Shame it is not on for much longer though.

Goodnight both xxx

Hi both.
Heavy rain here this morning.
It did dry up this afternoon, but i thought everything was too wet to do any work.

That's good that you've cracked the treacle Hicky (so to speak).
I'm sure you won't fudge the fudge when you try it.
Pity something has been eating your sunflowers.
At least your pears have been salvaged.

Hi Mollie.
Karthik was enthusiastic, but not sure he brought much to the House?
Not sure about Sarah and Chad? Don't think she had anything serious on the outside? But maybe she'd had a few dates with someone?
Didn't watch that Make or Break thing, watched the athletics instead.
Pity Mo farah missed out on a second gold, but the men's relay team came up trumps tonight.

emptybox

Evening Both.

Not a bad day, hardly and wind 18c with sunny spells, no rain.

Gave my neighbour 3 cucumbers, had 8 ready to be picked, gave her some treacle toffee as her O/H likes it.

Found a recipe for microwave chocolate fudge, we;;, it didn't turn out too good, it said condensed milk and i used evaporated milk, it said 375g and i put 170g in, it said dark chocolate 375g i had small milk choc bars of 32.5g so put 11 bars in, it didn't turn out as i expected it was too soft, it let me cut it into squares ok but will redo in the morning.

Been trimming the roots of the hanging onions as they are dry and ready to be stored, will try and plait them first, unless that doesn't work.

The rest of my Amazon stuff came, just different fixings for in the greenhouse.

Trying to work out were and how i would need the supports, i have the materials now with taking the staging to bits as it was pretty big., but not sure how high to run the cordon, the laterals will grow up from that.

Mollie, With the big sunflower head the seeds had been taken out and the husk removed, thought it could be a bird but thinking back the mess that was mad means it must have been the squirrel, and the plants with the whole head removed must have been the squirrel, don't know where the heads have gone.

The blood vessels have been ok since Tuesday but it usually occurs a couple of times a month anyway.

Yes, Make or Break, wow, they sure need advice, some should never have been together, but you can never see the problem yourself and noone listens to others.

I think Sarah is just scared of a relationship in the house, she probably knows they seldom last, a bit like holiday romances, but not usually with so many people watching, not sure about her BF, we don't know the truth.

O/H doesn't go to Costco on a Saturday as it's so busy.

Emptybox, That weather were you are is certainly costing you a lot of missed work, pity you can't blame anyone.

If i can't salvage this fudge i'll have to dump it, but i'll have a go, if i remember right years ago i always used to reboil any failed toffee or fudge, the Honeycomb/Cinder toffee causes problems but i used to redo that if it didn't work, the problem is getting it to the correct temperature without burning it.

Hicky

hope it was a bit drier today than yesterday for you. I know you need a good dry spell to get your work done now, so let's hope it is ok for you next week.

Sounds like you are enjoying your tv sport, I don't watch the sport, as I am not sporty, I hated it at school...sweating does nothing for your make up! So the most sport I do now  is walk the dog.

Hicky

let' s hope you can rescue the fudge.

I bet your neigbhour was pleased with the toffee and cucumber. (not to be eaten together though).

How did the onion plaiting go? I'd love a photo if you manage that.

So you think a squirrel got the sunflowers then. It would be great for you to have one of those night time cameras to see what is getting at your stuff ?

Glad the blood vessels have been ok since Tuesday. If it happens a couple of times a month, do they need to treat it, or do you think it is ok just to leave it and monitor it?

I don't usually like romance stuff but I do like to see Sarah and Chad together. But as you say HIcky, Sarah is probably scared of jumping into a relationship in the house.

Went to Asda this morning, then got the washing out, bought the washing back in as it drizzled, then put it out again as it went sunny.

Looked after mum this afternoon, lucky the weather was really nice, so took her round the fair, and we watched the rides, then to an outdoor pub where there was a singer, and round the seafront market, which was nice. Mum was eating her sandwiches as we went. Daughter had made me tea when I got back, so a good job I had managed to resist the hot donuts in the fair.

Looking forward to CBB tonight, I see Rylan is on 5* after. It's so confusing what time and what channel CBB stuff is on lately.

Enjoy the show.

Evening both.
Not too bad weather here. Not very sunny, but at least there was no rain.
Got my own grass cut.

You must have a lot of cucumber plants Hicky, to get that many from them?
Pity your fudge didn't turn out too good, but if you don't follow the recipe.......
Glad your Amazon stuff came anyway. That's good for a Sunday.

Mollie. Glad you got the good weather to take your Mum to the fair, but pity your washing had to dodge the drizzle earlier.
I was never any good at sport at school, because the games teacher always had us out playing rugby, rain or shine, and I was useless at that.
We only got to do athletics and high jump, javelin etc in the week before the school sports day. I would happily have done that all year (not that I was any good at that either )

Watched CBB but didn't realise there was a BOTS on 5* so missed that. Didn't think they had BOTS on a Sunday?
I think the Chad and Sarah thing is quite sweet, though whether it'll go anywhere is another matter.

Evening Both.

A strange day, 19c but cloud all day with 12 wind.

I had a go at redoing the fudge i added sugar but it didn't set again, so i redid it to 116c, well it's now Fudge Toffee because i had to break it using a big knife and hitting that with my cleaver.

While i was waiting for it to cool i made 5 small pots of Cucumber & Onion Pickle, got to use them somehow.

Also reground the blade of the second kitchen knife the small ones, so handy, it's now single edge like the other, they stay sharper longer.

Have ordered a new Freeview Humax Freeview recorder a FVP-4000T 500gb Freeview Play HD TV Recorder, it will record 4 programs at once.

My one is playing up and can't cope any longer, it also keeps freezing the channel so i have to turn the power off on the back.

Had beans on toast for brekkie with a steak pie for tea.

Got the bank in the morning and my hair cut Wed 12.30, will have brekkie out first.

Mollie, I was going to try the plait but the stems are all different sizes so i gathered them and tied them together so i can hang them in the garage, got some for the neighbour.

The only problem with leaving the blood vessels is that they could bleed and not stop, but i would like to hear what the consultant thought.

That was nice, going to the fair and a pub, you are both spoilt i can see.

I don't think i could have resisted the doughnuts.

Yes, CBB changing channels is a pain.

Emptybox, I have 3 cucumber plants, only because 2 came in the joint tum and one was on it's own, they grow so fast in the greenhouse, used 2 for the pickle today, gave neighbour 3 yesterday, there is 3 left to pick, i have to keep picking them to give the plant a chance to grow more, got quite a few Peppers as well, 2 types, loads of tomato's as well, about 20 ready to be picked now.

My 3 baby Figs are doing great in the greenhouse, have got them hooked to a miniature watering system that checks the water in the soil and opens a valve if it is dry, the feed pipe is about 2mm OD so you can imagine the size of the bore, it connect to my normal 4mm ID spray system, which then connects to the 13mm pipe and has the rotary mini tap with flow control.

I didn't think they had Bots on a Sunday, saw it scanning around, may have recorded it.

Got your own grass cut, do you send yourself an invoice.

Hicky
