Evening both.
Pouring with rain all day here. Won't be surprised if there is local flooding.
About a month's rain in a day. A quite cold day as well.
Wasn't very windy though.

My back is just about back to normal tonight. Can hardly feel it at all. Perhaps because I've been able to rest it for a few days due to the weather?
Didn't do much, but I got my invoices written and printed out.
Still got quite a few outstanding from last month, which is frustrating.

Had a worrying message on my phone. It said someone had tried to access my Google account from Canada, and they advised me to change my password. So I went into my Google account and did that. Then I had to go round all my devices logging in with the new password.
No idea how someone in Canada would get hold of my password?
I'll have to keep an eye to see if it happens again.

Pity you got the gales Hicky and Mollie, and got some damage. Hicky with the vine, and Mollie with your beloved swing chair.
Glad you enjoyed your hotpot Hicky, even if OH wasn't so keen. What a boring brekkie.
Oh yes, I forgot your boss had once been your apprentice.

Pity it was colder for you Mollie, but at least you didn't get all the rain.
I watched Alex Polizzi as well. Particularly as it was on Orkney, and I've always wanted to visit there. Perhaps I could stay in their B&B?

Quite a good twist on BB to have the People's Housemate, and have him split the HMs up. Better than their usual launch night twists anyway.

Evening Mollie.

Weather a bit better today, 15c with sunny spells, wind about 20 mph falling during the day.

Didn't do a lot, put a 'T' piece in the water pipe coming into the greenhouse so i can have a pipe each side and put a tap in each.

Too windy to put the sheet back up on the vine, will fix it at the top 4x2 next time.

Just having the rest of the hotpot, very tasty, only started with 250g of mince as well, the Jersey spuds are rather nice.

I had fastened the cover over the swingchair by putting tie wraps around the swivel point, it held it in the middle but \o/\h wanted it off, it would need drilling and bolting if you wanted it stable so i took it off as it kept the sun off her too much.

I noticed Alex but didn't look what the show was.

I agree, knew they wouldn't vote the girls in and 1 feller was hard to understand so thought he wouldn't go in.

I recorded Rylan so i can skip him and the adverts, recorded Love island as well, was going to watch it but skipping is best.

oh dear, hope you don't get flooding with all that rain.

Maybe the weather did you a favour in that it enabled you to rest your back, so it is much improved. Glad to hear it anyway.

That is very annoying to think someone has got hold of your PW, let's hope it is all ok now.

That would be a nice idea to give yourself a little break in that B and B. It looked a lovely place and in really nice location. You could ask them all about filming with Alex too.

I agree, I really enjoyed BB and the twist that split them up. I thought the guy did well and it was the best idea to split them up.

Hicky

glad your weather improved, the awful winds died down here too but we did get rain this afternoon.

Hopefully the wind will die down for you by tomorrow to fix your vine sheet.

Yes it is rather awkward to decide how to fix the shade on the swingchair. I sometimes like to be in the sun, but other times I like a bit of shade if it is very hot. So OH has to turn these round things to adjust it, but they tend to be a bit stiff. But he usually gets it done correctly. Wish weather would improve as I am missing my sun chair afternoons.

Did a bit of shopping this afternoon, pegged out a couple of washes before I went, and of course it got soaked by the time I got back!

With it being election day tomorrow, I am looking forward to following my fave trend on twitter, that I see is already trending at number 2, and it is "Dogs at polling stations"!     I have seen some photos of dogs posted today anticipating their important day tomorrow, by having a bath, and some trying their outfits on! I posted a pic of our dog outside the polling statiion last time. If it is wet, she will wear her red coat , but when it is cold, she wears her pink jumper. She is an older lady dog now with arthritus in her legs, and can only walk short distances, and very slowly, so we have to protect her from the elements.

Looking forward to BB tonight, watching GP show now, then A and E. Wish BB was on at 9 instead of 10.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening both.
Dry and sunny here today, but very windy. You must have sent your wind up here Mollie.
I was right about the flooding. The road to the village stayed flooded all day, I even had to come the long way home at 5pm, and that was after a day of sunshine.

Got quite a few jobs done, but I'm still behind because of the rain, so hope the forecast is wrong about more rain to come.

Glad you got the better weather Hicky, but pity it was still too windy to fix your vine cover.

Haven't seen anything about a Google breach, so my password must have been leaked somehow, unless it was just a mistake?
I have my suspicions about the update app on my phone. It had a security update a week before, and I just wonder if it leaked the details of my Google account. Might be paranoid, but the phone was made in China, and they have a reputation of adding malware into their phones.
As I say, I'll just have to be careful and keep alert.
Google didn't allow the person in, because if you try to log in from a strange device they send a code to your phone as extra security. But it's still worrying.

Pity your washing got soaked Mollie.
Do you still push your dog around in a pushchair? What with that and her pink jumper, she'd definitely be worth a picture at the polling station.

BB OK. Not sure who I like yet. I think the Chanelle one might turn out quite nice, and the Ellie one as well?

emptybox

Evening Both.

A strange day again, 18c with rain showers and sun showers, still windy at 21 mph.

Just fitted another shelf in the greenhouse, picked some Asparagus and gave my neighbour a load.

The new Toaster came, O/H was fed up with the other one browning at different degrees, this one is a Dualit, expensive but you can replace the timer and the elements, https://www.amazon.co.uk/Duali...496943814&sr=1-4

Have ordered a Sandwich rack now as well. tried the toaster, fantastic.

Made some sweet & sour sauce to finish off some chicken wings bits O/H did the other day, but i put too much thickener in it, oh dear, still ate it though.

Mollie, still too windy to tackle the vine cover, still on floor.

If we need shade we can just move to either the gazebo of another bench, we have plenty.

With BB on at 10pm it means i can watch Love Island at 9pm, watched GP's earlier.

Emptybox, Bad news about the flooding, Land Rover needed again, glad you got some jobs done anyway.

Are you sure the message was real, how do you know it wasn't fake? there's a lot of fake messages and emails sent out about various stuff being logged in etc, you have to be so careful, did you do a search to see if it was real or not.

Liking the HM's, it will take some time to sort out the good from the bad.

Hicky

Emptybox

hope the flooding has gone now, else you will have to buy a canoe soon to get to the village. Shame you are behind at work as you had been doing so well early in the season this year. The forecast does seem to be promising better weather soon.

Yes I think as Hicky says, the phone stuff may of just been fake or just a mistake, let's hope so.

Hicky

I bet your neighbour was pleased to see you laden with asparagus for her. Your new toaster looks lovely, I reckon it is worth spending on a good toaster as they get used so much and there is nothing like a good piece of toast to start the morning. I love sweet and sour sauce, I bet yours was delicious.

Shame it was still too windy to tackle your vine cover, hopefully the wind will clear soon.

That is good the timing means you can fit in Love Island before BB, I have recorded BB tonight as I wanted to watch Gogglebox and the alternative election night on C4 is quite funny.

Took the doggie to the polls and posted it on my twitter dogsatpollingstations . I love looking at all the doggie pics on that. Yes she is still using her pushchair Emptybox as if we walk out, she stops when she is tired because of arthritus and she is heavy to carry all the way home. We didn't have to use the jumper or jacket though as the rain stopped. It was pouring down all morning though.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening both.
Heavy rain again today, so no work done. It cleared at about 4pm, but everything was too wet by then.
But, as you say Mollie, they seem to be forcasting a return to Summer next week.

I just saw your doggie pic Mollie, and also noticed you'd posted one last month, which I'd missed.
I presume the Welsh on there is the Welsh for "Polling Station"? I'll not attempt to pronounce it.
Glad the rain stopped to allow you to get out anyway.

The flooding has subsided here, even though we'd had more rain today. It's a bit that always floods, and they don't seem to be able to do anything about it.
Last night I drove up to the flood, even though the sign said the road was closed, and there were some cyclists contemplating whether they would go through.
There was a car coming the other way, and he came through the water, but it looked like it was very high, so I didn't want to take the chance of damaging the engine, so I turned back and went the longer alternative route.
The alternative route comes out just the other side of the flood, and by the time I had got round I met the cyclists again (about 10 of them) who had only just got through the water. They gave me a cheery wave anyway, so i don't think any of them drowned?

I didn't click any links in the Google email but went straight to my Google account, and looked at recent activity, which showed a sign in attempt from Canada. Could be a mistake, but still worrying. But as I said, they were blocked from getting any access.

Hi Hicky. That's some toaster. Hope it works well.
Pity the wind was still high, and stopped you replacing the vine cover, but bet your neighbour was grateful for the asparagus.
Pity you made your sauce too thick.

Didn't watch BB tonight as I turned straight to the election show.
Looks like Theresa May took the wrong decision to hold the election. Perhaps she was badly advised?
TBH I wouldn't be sad if she had to resign, as I think she's a bad leader. But she'll probably hang on by her fingertips.
Also looks like the SNP vote is down, so that's good news for me.
Just worried about how the financial markets will react.

Evening Both.

A bit better today, 17c sunny spells and light winds.

Put more shelves up in the greenhouse, managed to get the plastic sheet up over the vine raised bed again.

Been finding a few spider mites on certain leaves and some more greenfly.

There's always some insect trying to eat a leaf or a shoot.

Mollie, I'll have to stop cutting the Asparagus soon, i think mid June.

The toaster is great, mind you, you have to remember it doesn't pop up, the sandwich toaster came, O/H tried to get some Toastie bags but they had ran out.

I'll have to record Love Island tonight as they both start at 9pm.

Emptybox, Yes, you sure did right by not clicking email links, but you even have to check all web sites these days.

Yes, silly me putting too much cornflour in, but wasn't sure how to thin in as it didn't have any water in it to start with.

The neighbour enjoys my Asparagus and she gets Salmon in to have with it.

I think i'm going to have an awful lot of Raspberries soon, the bed is snooing with them.

Those gales sure thinned the apples out, i'm getting ready to spray them with the treatment for most creatures that attack my trees.

Yes Mrs May had 2 reasons to call the election, 1, was to get a better majority, 2, was so the next election wouldn't fall at a bad time in 2020, so she got 1 out of 2, but with Labour promising everyone the moon it consumed the extra seats she needed, so Labour have screwed the lot up now, they had no chance of gaining power and have now messed up Brexit altogether i assume.

I see the SNP lost about 21 seats, they are fed up with her thats for sure.

sorry it was yet another work day lost for the rain. At least your back has had chance to have a good rest whilst you wait for the weather to improve.

Glad you saw my scruffy twitter doggie pics...., yes that is Welsh for polling station (not that I understand Welsh, but it is my OH;'s first language). Does the polling stations up there say it in Scottish too? Or just English?

Hope the flood clears soon, good job the cyclists got through it problem free, and good job you chose the longer route round.

Yes looks like it is good news for you in that SNP's second referendum will not happen now. I too am glad it looks like Scotland will stay in the UK now. In Wales it has never been an issue thankfully.

Hicky

thats good the weather was good enough to do your cover again. It is a constant battle for you controlling those pesky insects on your produce!

Bet your neighbour enjoyed her asparagus and salmon.

What are you going to do with all your raspberries when you get them? Give them away or can you use them all yourselves? I like them with mascapone cheese.

Shame the gales thinned your apples down, let's hope that is the end of the gales for awhile now.

I think it was Theresa May herself, rather than Corbyn who screwed everything up with her sheer arrogance thinking she could get a huge majority if she called an unecessary election . She just wasted time and money calling it.

Plus I see trouble ahead now with May's coalition proposals. The knives will be out for her from her own party.

Glad to see Corbyn at least bought all the young voters out, even if he didn't win.

Wonder who will leave the BB house tonight? I see it is vote to save this time. I feel we dont really know the HM's enough  yet to decide. I too watched the C4 election show last night, it was quite funny, and caught up later with BB.

Enjoy the eviction show. xxx

M

Hi both.
A bit damp to start with, but a largely dry but windy day with a bit of sunshine.
Got a few jobs done. Didn't have an early start though, as I stayed up late/early watching the election.
Back still a little sore when standing still, but OK when I'm walking now.

In Scotland they are called polling places rather than polling stations for some reason. In the Highlands and Islands they might have that in Gaelic as well, not too sure, but not around here.

Hicky, glad you got some shelves up in the greenhouse and got the sheet back over your vines.
Pity you are getting a problem with bugs now though. Good idea to spray the apples against them.
Can't believe you paid all that for the toaster, and it doesn't even pop the toast up?

As long as the FTSE doesn't go down too much, I think the election result suits me.
Obviously happy that the SNP vote is down as it should put the idea of another Independence vote on the back burner. And, as I didn't support Brexit, I'm quite pleased that the Tories will have difficulty now going for the "hard" brexit that they otherwise might have.
I think the worst thing that could happen is the Government's Queen's speech being rejected, and we have to go for another election.
Might happen though.

Pity that Mandy went on BB. I would rather that Imran and his stupid 'flat Earth' ideas had been booted out.

Evening Both.

A strange day here, some sun later on, rain and cloud mainly, warm at 18c.

have planted a few tomato seeds, probably too late but something to do.

If i did ave a big crop of Raspberries i would make some jam, the berries freeze well so can be stored.

I had a cup full today, they are the early ones from the the canes i pruned from last autumns crop, if you cut the fruiting part of Joan J you get a summer crop next year while the main crop comes from the new canes that grow, all the other 12 canes are summer fruiting.

It was only the smaller apples that fell, they would have come off anyway.

May isn't having a coalition with the DUP just an understanding, they probably said they wouldn't vote against the government, that's all May needed.

She did blow it, but Labour come out with their normal string of fantasy stuff, if you offer people tons of stuff for free and act like Robin hood you will get followers, people will always vote for a free meal, it would never work but he doesn't care, he wanted to take votes away from May and he did, but he has now left us in a bigger mess than if he had said nothing.

I was sorry to see Mandy go, Tom was too scared to send Imran home.

Emptybox,  I stayed up till 2am for the election, there's always something to watch on TV.

The toaster has a timer so it turns off when the time is up, it has a super lifter thing so you can lift the toast while it's running to see how it is, i like it, have ordered the toastie bags to go with the new toastie rack fitting.

Yes, the SNP lost 21 seats, they won't be pleased, but when you listen to them, it's so funny, they tell you how pleased they are.

If we had another election Labour would get in with all the fantasy idea's, the country could never pay for them, we haven't got out of the mess of when the last Labour government was in, don't the public understand that all the fiscal policies was to tidy the mess Labour left us in.

Yes, Tom took the easy Option, don't like him, he's playing a clever game, he's not doing the will of the people at all.

Hicky

Hi Hicky.
Similar day here. Wet to start with and then sunshine late afternoon.
I would have worked if it had been dry in the morning, but it wasn't.

Should think it's a bit late for tomato seeds, as they won't be ready in time to get a good crop ripened, but you should get a few tomatoes at least.
That's good that you can get summer and autumn crops from the same rasps.

I see May has fired her advisers (or they resigned ). Not sure if she'll survive for long? I think she's an intelligent woman, but an incompetent leader who listened to the wrong people.

Yes, the SNP won the most seats in Scotland, but they only got 37% of the vote, which of course would mean they would lose a referendum if it was held tomorrow.
Of course things could change again, but for now Nicola knows she can't call for another one.

Watched BB. Sukhvinder really is an angry woman.
Also watched Doctor Who.

emptybox

Evening Emptybox.

A rather strange day, was worried it was going to rain, we did have a couple of short showers, some sun lots of cloud, windy as well, 18c with 20 mph wind but 40 mph gusts at 6pm, it's bad out now, have had to screw some plastic plates to hold the bottom of the plastic sheet over the vine.

Was going to spray the apple trees and the plum etc but too windy and didn't want it to rain and can't spray if its full sun, so that was out., looking at forecast it might have to wait till Tuesday.

Want to get some watering stuff for the greenhouse but the website i use is hopeless will have to ring them, half the stuff isn't on the site and they have changed the codes so it's impossible.

Yes, it is late for the seeds but in the greenhouse though i might have a longer season.

The summer crop from these raspberries is smaller, size wise, if it doesn't work out i'll scrap the 2 season idea.

It's going to be a struggle for May, will have to see how it goes.

So wonder what Nicola is talking about now, she's pretty redundant isn't she.

Yes, Sukhvinder is strange, so is Imran, can't see them staying in long the way they are carrying on.

glad you got a dry day to get some work done Friday. Probably not a bad thing as your back had been off, that it was wet yesterday morning so you took a day off. Did you work today? Hope the back is ok today.

I agree Theresa May is certainly imcompetent. And now I also think she is so power crazy, that she is willing to put the Good Friday agreement in jeopody, because our government can't be neutral on Ireland if they have a cosy alignment with DUP, just to get her the majority she craves. This is going to bring nothing but trouble I think, but she won't last, surely?

And you may be disappointed if she does as she plans, as one of DUP demands already are that Nigel Farage works on the brexit, so that would not mean a soft brexit, I wouldn't think?

http://metro.co.uk/2017/06/11/...egotiations-6701540/

But I agree with you it is good news in that Nicola Sturgeon has lost power, that would be awful if Scotland did split from the rest of UK.

Gosh you are right, Suk is certainly one very angry person, shame she is still there and Mandy went. Makes you wonder how her hubby puts up with her?

Hicky

I see you are still getting the bad winds. It was very windy here too this morning, even more  windy here than on the seafront with my mum. OH reckons the wind blows from down between the valleys, so we get it very windy. (we live in a valley). Let's hope the plastic plates do their job and hold the cover in place.

HOpe your raspberries do come on ok.

Gosh yes you can't spray in all that windy weather, you don't want it blowing back in your face,  let's hope the weather settles down soon.

Yes I should think you are right, Tom was too scared to send Imram home, can you imagine how much Tom would of been on the end of Imran's wife's real wrath if he had? she sure has one fiery temper!

You didn't tell us what you had to eat today?

I don't think people only voted for Corbyn for the give aways, (although it did help, as the average worker is finding it harder to make ends meet now more than ever), but I think overall they found him honest, trustworthy and a good leader,  who instead of just running down the opposition like others did to him, he lead a positive campaign with a clear manifesto. Anyone earning over ÂĢ80k should pay more tax to help our nhs and education in my opinion. And Corbyn is  the first leader who has ever aknowldeged how hard it is for young people now. Personally I admire him, and the fact he has won a peace prize, and more than ever now, don't regret changing my vote to labour this time round. May now has  got what is coming to her for calling an unecessary election, unfortunately she is also responsible for now bringing unstability to all the country.

Dry today so caught up with loads and loads of washing, as I got behind on the wet days. Then looked after mum.

The burden on mum's lovely carers goes from bad to worse. Agency are struggling to get staff,...awful wages, awful hours in this industry, so the carers are just exhausted trying to keep up with the workload. I got to mum's at 2.30pm today ready to take her out with the rest of the family down the seafront in her wheelchair, and they had put mum's PJ's on and put her to bed! They thought it was the bedtime call so had put her to bed, instead of just doing her toilet call! So they had to get her in the hoist and get her up again. She was crying all the time as it is horrible for her when they move her in the hoist. The girls have been working 12 hours a day, often no weekend off as so many carers have left, plus doing around 16 calls a day, so got confused, and didn't realise it was still early afternoon. The girls gave me a hug and apologised and I told them not to worry, she will be ok. And luckily I did manage to calm mum down when we took her out and she ate food in her wheelchair. She always calms down when I take her to the park and the fair and she can hear the children.

Looking forward to unwinding watching BB now. I think I heard somewhere they are doing CBB straight after this BB? That would be nice. I don't have any faves yet as I dont' really know them enough.

I was thinking our political views here this time are as varied as our HM views ...eg

Emptybox - Brexit in

Me - Brexit out

Hicky - Brexit out

Hicky -  conservative

Emptybox - conservative (but anti Nicola vote)

me - labour.

did you notice there is a new series set in Scotland starting tonight on itv called the Loch?  The scenery looks beautiful, is it filmed anywhere near you?

I am watching this, and recording BB.

Forogot to say, that is interesting how your polling stations are called "Polling Place" and some in Gaelic. Are your police, called police there? They are Heddlu here and were the Garda when we lived in Ireland. (they still are).

M

Evening Mollie and Hicky.
Must have forgotten to post yesterday. Never mind, I'm posting early today.

Cloudy and windy today, with hints of sunshine, but also a couple of blustery showers. Got some work done anyway.

Pity it's been windy for you as well Hicky (on Sunday anyway).  Hope it didn't blow the covers off your vines again?
Pity the site where you buy your watering gear is rubbish. Can you source it elsewhere?

Hi Mollie, I agree with you about the deal with the DUP, could well put the NI peace process at risk.
My brother has to go to Ireland both North and South for business often, and he definitely wouldn't want to see a resurgence of the troubles.
Plus he's also worried about Brexit, because if there were trade barriers between NI and the Republic his company would have to change the way they do business.
He's the chief for Scotland and (all) Ireland, so it could make his job more difficult.

Glad it was dry yesterday to take your Mum out with the family.
Bit of a palaver with the carers putting her to bed early. But as you say, if they are doing all this work and with strange shift patterns, they may lose track of time.
Not sure how I feel about Corbyn? He comes over well in interviews, but don't think he'd be a good PM.

Didn't watch that programme The Loch, although I saw it in the schedule. Filmed around Loch Ness I think, so a long way from me.
The Scottish Police are just called "Police", at least that's what it says on their jackets, but in Scots dialect that's "polis"
Scots dialect being the dialect of English spoken in Scotland, as opposed to Gaelic, which is the native celtic language spoken in the Highlands and Western Isles. But even then, only by a small percentage.
They have bi-lingual road signs in that area, but not in most of Scotland.
All the signage around the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh is also bi-lingual, but that's mostly for show.

"Alba" being the Gaelic name for Scotland (pronounced roughly AL-uh-puh)

I see Arthur has left/been kicked out of the BB house. Guess we'll find out why tonight?
Couldn't make up my mind about him. He was quite funny at times, but was deliberately winding the others up.

Evening Both.

A cloudy day here, 16c with winds dropping from 20 to 7.

Didn't do much, wanted to spray the trees but can't in this wind and rain threat.

O/H went to get me some more pairs of sandals, she didn't realise that the last ones she bought were not the same, 1 pair didn't have an adjustable strap behind the heel so my toes were in an uncomfortable position, the pair before split under the sole, these latest seem ok as they have 2 adjusters on the heel strap, plus the normal toe adjuster and ankle strap.

Picked some Leaves up, been blown off the Oak tree.

Watched my recording of Love Island, good stuff. they all look like beauty queens, with bodies to die for, of course thats not why i watch, i watch so i can appreciate what i've missed.

Am going to order the parts i need for the water system in the greenhouse, i have found 4mm mini valves that have a knurled top so you can cut down the flow or turn it off.

I also found some of the spray heads that i can buy for ÂĢ10 for 50, i've probably got 50 or more in use, but you can clean them inside very easy, http://www.waterirrigation.co....mist-jet-28-l-h.html

They might be selling them off as Hydrosure have closed down some years ago.

Mollie, That link has 3 known no-no's, Could, Reportedly & A Source, it just all made up to see papers, i wouldn't think it had any facts in it or they would say, like most of the papers, trying to score points and make trouble.

It would have been interesting to see what Sukh would be like if Imran left, which would have been better than Mandy, bad choice, he has his own agenda.

Yes, the clamps i put on the raised bed cover worked a treat, it does mean i have to undo a side to get at the vines etc.

Yesterday i had tomato and bacon with toast, O/H made a roast for dinner.

Today i had a cheese burger with onions, tomato sauce and mustard.

For tea i cooked a piece of belly pork.

Normally Labour just borrow, we still haven't paid back from their last term in office, so this time he offered the moon and people love a free ride so they voted for him, they had nothing to lose he was giving them someone else's money, Robin Hood is the word.

All the fuss about stopping the fuel payment, are they stupid, she was going to stop it for the rich, which i agree, they sure don't need ÂĢ100.

Yes, the carers sure have a rough time, nobody wants to do it for the money, but what can be done.

Emptybox, I rang the watering company and tole them if i want to find something on their site i have to google the part, it also turns up some amazing prices as well, i told him that as well.

Yes, Arthur gone, don't know if he walked or not.

With a massive arrow like that it seems pointless put 'WAY IN'.

Hicky

Evening Everyone, wherever you are.

A strange day today, mainly cloud a touch of sun, light winds and dry, 17c and 6mph.

Didn't do much, not a lot to do really, sprayed the trees then i did one of the neighbours apple trees, will have to prune his plum tree when the fruits are off.

O/H made a roast lamb dinner which should be good haven't had it yet.

I've put canes to support the stuff in the greenhouse, have add a thin section of trellis for the cucumber plants as they like things to get hold of, don't we all.

i have ordered the 4mm vari flow micro valve, hope it works as yet get 50 for a special price, basically half price.

Then i worked out that if i fit the valve on the trees i don't need the spray head as all it's doing is controlling the amount of water goes into the saucer, so if i can control the flow with putting a control tap in the line i can take the spray head out so i don't need to buy any.

Will start setting up the greenhouse watering system, if these taps work ok i can get it all done and turn the taps off.

22c tomorrow with maybe some sun, more sun Thursday.

Hicky

That is interesting about the Scots dialect and Gaelic, I expect there is a lot of history where that is concerned. Funny enough there was news out today that our Welsh Assembly is now going to be known as Welsh Parliment, so our name now matches yours closer.

http://www.dailypost.co.uk/new...named-welsh-13179660

Glad you managed to get some work done. Has the wind died down? And how is your back now?

That is interesting about your brother's job, he will be well aware of Irish politics then. As you know we lived there for awhile when OH worked there and kids went to school there. When we went to register the kiddies for school, the only thing they asked us was what religion the kiddies were. Oh heck I thought, hope my answer is the correct one. I naivelly hadn't been expecting them to ask that as it was just the local infants school. So I said they were Christened C of E. They said that's good, so when do you want them to start? I later found out the Catholic kids went to a lot larger school a bit further away.

I think Theresa May and her MP supporters are  a disgrace putting the Good Friday at risk, which it is now just to keep themselves in power. I just saw an intereview on C4 with a Sinn Fein MP. Sinn Fein MP's have now come over to London to discuss this, and their MP said it was unnaceptable for conservatives to do any deal at all with DUP. She clearly said it was against the peace agreement and it was legally challengable. In addition there was questions to be answered about Arlene. (forget last name).

Regarding the Nigel and DUP article...., by coincidence they asked Nigel about this on lbc. He laughed when they said about him being Lord of Brexit, and said no way would he go with DUP/conservatives. In fact he felt the conservatives were the party completely aiming to water down brexit, he said they had appointed around 20 remainer MP's (one to a high postion who was an extreme remainer, can't remember the name) and only 7 who were brexiteers. He also reminded them Theresa May was a remainer. He said he thought labour were more brexit than conservatives, and they had clearly stated they were for brexit and wanted out of the single market, so he was more likely to work with them. How are we supposed to keep up with all this?

Hicky

glad to see your food menu back again. You always have such a variety of food. We have baked beans, jacket potato, cheese and fishfingers as the kitchen was so hot to have the oven on too long.

Gosh that Hydrosure stuff was cheap!  sounds like you are going to make good use of it for your watering system. That's nice of you to see to your neighbour's apple and plum trees.

Well how odd they never told us why Arthur left. As you say Emptybox, he wasn't that bad, sometimes he was funny. How very odd. Aaaww Ralp was sweet how he said he'd miss him.

Really warm today and at last OH got the swing chair out of the garage as the awful winds has gone. So managed to find a little time to swing today. Promising hotter again tomorrow.

HOpefully your covers will be ok now the winds have gone Hicky.

Anyone watch the drama on itv at 9 last night called "Fearless"? Looks like it could be quite interesting.

Time to get the washing in, all dried nicely at last.

Shame I have to wait till 10 to watch BB.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening both.
Not bad day here. At least the wind calmed down and it was quite warm. Not very sunny though. Got a lot done anyway. Still a wee bit behind, so could do with a period of good weather.

Hope you have good luck with your new sandals Hicky.
I've got a good Clarkes pair. Doesn't have any adjusters apart from the buckle, but they are a good fit anyway.
Glad you got a good bargain for your watering parts.
That was good of you, spraying your neighbour's tree as well as your own.

Hi Mollie. That's interesting that the Welsh Assembly is going to be called a Parliament. Wouldn't want to be outdone by the Scots?
Sounds like it was much warmer for you than it was up here, if your kitchen was too hot. Glad you got some swing chair time.

Interesting about the religious Schools in Ireland (presume that was the Republic?)
My brother was saying yesterday that on occasion his satnav mistakenly has taken into the areas in Belfast where they still have those big paramilitary style murals on the gables, and he gets a bit nervous and gets out of there as quick as possible.
Interesting if Sinn Fein think there might be a legal challenge to the DUP deal. I was reading today that the 7 Sinn Fein MPs are considering taking their seats in Westminster for the first time, if there is a chance of defeating Theresa May's Queens speech, and getting Jeremy Corbyn into power.

As to Arthur, Aisleyne says she has spoken to him, and he left because he felt like he was being bullied and isolated.
https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvand...er-isolated-bullied/
I think she just messaged him on Twitter, but whether she messaged the correct Arthur is unknown, because there are some fake 'Arthur Fulford' twitters out there.

Didn't see that Fearless prog Mollie.

emptybox

Evening Both.

Not a bad day really, 23c sunny most of the time, slight wind.

Was getting hair cut at 12.30 so went out for brekkie at 11.30.

My 4mm micro taps came that i ordered yesterday, have fitted a few to test in the morning when the system comes on.

I pulled up the radishes that bolted, waste of space, not to worry.

Found a raspberry beetle nibbling one of the fruit, i could spray them but you can't eat the fruit for a week.

I'll just find the beetles if i can, they aren't that small anyway.

The peas are doing ok, the first flush is out, long as well, just got to fatten up now., toms are coming ok.

Got a lot of gooseberries as well, tried some a while back, very sour, thought they would be as they have some time to go yet.

Mollie,  I don't need the cheap spray jets now as i have the 4mm adjustable taps, the spray heads in the tubs was just to control the water flow because without a spray head the water would really pour out, so i hope these taps work.

I took some of the fasteners holding the bottom of the plastic sheet on the vines, i put 1 back each side as i need some humidity in the plastic.

I've been on the swing quite a bot, now the cover is off it can stay out in the weather.

This Love Island is crazy, wow, with them adding girls then fellers it really messes with their minds, great fun.

Emptybox, Glad you got a lot done, it's so hard to get consistent good weather.

These new sandals are fine, without the heal adjustment they are too hard to wear, took the last pair that failed to a charity shop.

Yes, the amount of fake accounts on twitter is crazy, so unless you know them then you could be following anyone, if she wanted an interview then you arrange to meet, otherwise you are probably being taken for a ride.

Hicky

Emptybox

hope the weather held for you today to get some work done. Yes it was Dublin suberbs we lived in. Lovely place South of Dublin close to Dun Laoghaire from where we used to get the fast ferry back to North Wales to see OH's family.  Sounds like your brother travels a lot to Ireland? Yes I can imagine your brother being selective in as to which areas he chose to stay or leave whilst in the North. My OH and son had 2 visits out to Ireland last year. One to South by ferry from North Wales and one by flight to Belfast. They did the Game of Throne tours, both tours toured large areas of Ireland, and they too noticed those paramilitary murals in some areas. That same Sinn Fein MP on C4 news yesterday said they would not be taking their seats, but would be giving their point of view as to the DUP/conservatives and taking legal advice about it.

Interesting about Ais/twitter and Arthur, wonder if it was the real Arthur. Talking of twitter, are you following the real Ais? Because if you are, did you see her tweeting today offerring accomodation to victims of the London fire? It looked to me like it was her real account.

The London fire is horrific, isn't it?    How can this be allowed to happen in 21st UK? I fear money making and corruption may be the answer though, as warnings were made about this. I reckon many landlords cut back on safety for cost cutting. On a personal scale, one of our past LL's skipped a gas inspection and I later found it was supposed to be illegal, then our last LL;s house was full of mould, we had ruined furnitire, mouldy clothes and when we complained she gave us notice to quit! So unfair. She then painted over it, and our old next door neighbours told us the mould came back for the next tenants, so they too left, now the next lot are in.

Hicky

how very dare those darn beetles nick your raspberries, hope you can spot them and control them. That's good your peas and toms are coming along nicely. Do you make pies with your gooseberries, daughter saw some nice ones in tesco today, but I am not sure how you'd eat them? Hope you can work your water system out ok, I know you usually do. Glad you too still enjoy using the swing chair.

Can't we tempt you Emptybox into getting one? They are so relaxing. They might be reduced soon too, and the shade bit is very useful if it is very hot.

That's a nice treat to go out for brekkie Hicky. Where did you go?

We went to Toby carvary as we had 20% off. I had a massive plate of all types of veg and 2 yorkshire puds for ÂĢ4.59 less 20%.

It was sweltering hot today, so that was why I didn't feel like cooking for all the family so we went to toby.We all enjoyed it.

The pets both look exhausted today and spend a lot of time crashed out when it as hot as this.

Looking forward to BB tonight.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Hi both.
Another cloudy dry day. Maybe a bit warmer than yesterday, but not hot by any means.
Got a lot done again.
Hoped to get caught up by the weekend, but someone phoned up needing an extra job done by Friday lunchtime, so I might not fit it all in.

Glad your taps came Hicky, and a haircut was a good excuse for a brekkie.
Hadn't heard of raspberry beetles? Hope they don't eat too many before you can pick them.
Yes, gooseberries are sour until they turn a paler colour.

Yes Mollie that's Aisleyne's real twitter account (you can tell by the blue tick).
She's just had some tenants move out of one her flats, and the new ones don't move in till July, so it's free for a couple of weeks.
Not sure if anyone will take her up on it?

Not sure how old that tower block was, and whether it had fire retardant materials built in? If it's an old one not sure what could have done to make it safer?
I suppose that's some sort of justice for you, that your old LL keeps losing tenants over her mouldy house.

My brother goes to Ireland every second or third week, so he's very familiar with the flights etc.
Don't think I'd have much use for a swing chair? I've already got a garden chair but I never use it. I tried to sit out for about 5 minutes once, but got bored.
Pity it was so hot that you were forced to go out for a meal.

Nice to see Nicola and Marnie back in the BB house, but we could have done without that awful GC.

emptybox

Evening Both.

A strange day, lots of cloud some sunny spells, rain threatened all day with the dark clouds, some wind as well, but 23c.

Fitted most of the new taps to the Tree tubs so i'll check them in the morning when the system come on.

Have taken all the radishes out that went to seed, some more raspberries ready to pick as well.

Have stopped cutting the Asparagus, had a meal of them this morning with some sausages, just had a half rack of pork ribs.

Going to make out my shopping list but as O/H is off this week we are going to a big Sainsbury's in Ellesmere Port.

Mollie, One thing about the raspberry beetle is that it's big enough to see, the one i caught was half way through munching a raspberry, but haven't seen any more yet, i should spray them but then i can't pick the fruits.

Not sure what to do with the gooseberries, i have 3 different types so they should be ready at different times, i'll probably make a crumble.

I went for brekkie at Flavours in Hoylake, a 7" brekkie, a lot is only a few quid, not sure it's on the website. http://www.flavourshoylake.co.uk

Emptybox, That was good, getting a lot done, when they ring up for extra they don't realise you have to try and fit it in.

I don't think the London Tower Block would have burnt like that without the cladding, it's a concrete building isn't it?

But if you put a cladding on the surface with a gap behind and the cladding isn't inflammable then you have a problem when it is subject to intense heat from a fire in one flat.

It seems that it has insulation properties using a flammable material, but the cladding is also made from a mixture of material, one being Aluminium, which in strip form etc and subject to heat, if it loses its covering and exposed to Oxygen then goes up with a very bright white light which what it looked like t me, and when reading about certain cladding materials it is only fit for and should be used for single story building so that fire can't race upwards.

It certainly looks like the wrong cladding was used, what a disaster, heads will roll.

Enjoying BB & Love Island, all hell seems to be breaking loose on both.

Hicky

Evening Hicky.
Similar day here. Cloudy and windy and quite cold when the sun wasn't out. Also a couple of sharp showers. And at 5.30pm we had torrential rain. Luckily I'd just got into the van to come home, so didn't get wet, but it was pelting down and the roads were quickly covered with surface water.

Got a lot done again. Grass and hedge cutting and a big strimming job (the extra one).

Glad you got your taps fitted, and enjoyed the last of your asparagus.
Heard something about cladding on that tower block. Was that put on for insulation? Very surprising it all went up so easily, if it started in one flat.
They say 200 may have died.

BB OK. Can't stand Gemma Collins though.

emptybox

Evening Emptybox.

Not a bad day really, it was over 20c today, some cloud, some sun, some wind.

Tried some of the new adjustable 4mm taps, they work fine, just a few more to fit, went for the groceries this morning, got all i need anyway, O/H kept shouting out, do you want this, no, i said, anyway, we were a bit late as O/H missed the exit on the motorway so had to go another 6 mile to turn round.

The filters came for the fridge, also the toasty bags, will have to try them.

Have been installing more of the watering system into the greenhouse, i'm having 2 nozzles for each corner section, 2 for each side section so it will have 20 in all, of course i'll never need them but it means i can supply a water feed to any plants around the whole greenhouse.

O/H bought me a chicken kebab on a skewer which i heated in the oven and had with Lime & Chilli Chutney.

I wonder who will go tonight on BB, with vote to save, there's only Raph the public would save isn't there.

I'll have to record Love Island as they are both on together.

Yes, the cladding was put on mainly so that people in other high flats saw what looked like a better picture than the original finish, just happened that they used the wrong cladding, probably meant for single story use.

I think all the cladding comes with insulation, which of course would burn if subject to a flame.

Not a fan of Jemma, she gets in everything.

that's good you managed to get a lot done. Is the mower holding up ok now? And how is your back. Good job you managed to avoid the torrential rain. We didn't have rain, but it was a bit cloudy.

Hicky

Sounds like your watering system in your greenhouse is keeping you busy. But  I bet all your plants will do well with it.

I think we have some of those toasty bags somwehre in a cupboard that we had forgotten about. You'll have to let me know how you get on with them.

Nice of your OH to buy you a chicken kebab, bet you enjoyed that.

Yes that London fire is all about big business flat management and the government saving money. I heard a fire expect say to save money not only had the government closed many firestations, and got rid of firemen, but had cut back 50% on fire inspections in London. A disgrace.

Not a bad day weather wise, but still windy. Still it got my washing dried well.

Not keen on the storyline of the 3 going back in BB. Glad they are leaving today.

Still glad to have BB on each night to watch though.

Goodnight both xxx

Evening both.
Cloudy and windy and quite cool today (about 12 degrees), but at least it didn't rain.
Just wish the warmer weather would venture northwards.
Got plenty done though.

Hi Hicky, glad you got some of the taps fitted, and your filters and toasty bags came.
Pity you had an unplanned detour on your shopping trip.

Back mostly OK now thanks Mollie, but still sometimes sore when standing. The mower has been working OK. The key is not to hit any stones with the blade, which is always a danger when I'm doing so many different lawns. I'm also checking that the blade is tight every now and again.

The problem seems to have been that this cladding meant the whole block went up in a matter of minutes, so the fire service had no time to get it under control.
But yes, you'd think there would be some sort of fire inspection for tower blocks?

So both Suhkvinder and Imran out. Don't think I'll miss them.
I liked seeing Nicola and Marnie in there Mollie, but not Gemma.

Evening Both.

A scorcher today, couldn't do too much so uncovered the vine to route the growth out of harms way.

Picked a few more raspberries, O/H started cleaning all the Gazebo and BBQ.

Just had some sausages and fillet steak and onions.

Greenhouse veg growing as if it's on steroids., too hot to work inside the greenhouse.

The Kiwi Berry vine had tons of flowers this year so hoping i will get some fruit this year.

Mollie, The toaster bags are fine, most should last 100 uses each, i can put mine in the toastie maker i bought for the new toaster, i tried one last night with cheese and tomato, i think you need to keep the food away from the side bread so it can seal.

I think closing some firestations was just for economics, having a building full of firemen on duty 24/7 costs a fortune so it was obvious something had to happen, I don't think it put people at risk or they wouldn't have done it.

If you need more fire fighters they come from another station, same with appliances, they just shuttle them up to cover all areas.

I don't know who cut back what on fire inspections, don't even know if they need to carry out changes that are needed, sure this is a grey area.

Was surprised Imran was voted out, even more surprised Sukhvinder followed suit, but like a bad tooth, better out than in.

Emptybox, You haven't had your share of the nice weather, hope today Saturday is good for you.

Glad your back has been ok, and the mower is behaving.

Surely the cladding would have been advised by the supplier, there seems to be quite a few types, but it needs to be the type used for high rise flats, the stuff used certainly doesn't seem fit for the job.

Yes, don't think too many will miss Sukhvinder, they might miss Imran though, certainly and odd couple, just married aren't they but have a 20 yr old daughter, i couldn't believe they are married, more like 2 strangers.

Hicky

Emptybox

glad the back is nearly better now. Try and make sure you dont' over do it yet.

Yes it must be difficult trying to avoid stones with the mower. Let's hope it has no more mishaps now.

Hopefully you should of got it a bit warmer up there too today.

It was sunny here, but luckily a nice breeze on the coast.

Yes won't miss those 2 who left BB, although I didn't exect those 2 to go.

Hicky

that's good your veg are coming on so well in the greenhouse, yes I bet it was sweltering in there with the sunshine today.

Yes I bet cheese and tomato would work well in the toast bags, as should cheese and onion.

I feel the same Hicky, can't believe those BB pair are married and have been married for so long! So weird a relationship.

Just watching BB now, gosh these HM's are brilliant at arguing, but they seemed to struggle when it came down to naming what continent the BB house is in!

Even though the sun was real strong here today, luckily we got a sea breeze, so was able to stick mum's sun hat on her and take her long walk down the seafront, the fairground and round the harbour. She was crying when I got to the flat as the girls used the hoist to put her in the wheelchiar, but stopped as I wheeled her outside, so I was able to stay out ages, which is good , as when she grizzles, it stresses me out, and I have to grab the wine as soon as I get home when that happens. She munched on her marmite/cream cheese sandwich fingers, so at least I knew she was eating whilst we walked.

Me and family had Dominos buy one get one free for tea, as I was too tired to cook in a sweltering kitchen after getting home from mums. I saw on their wall that Dominoes in Luton was the 1st UK one to open back in 1985.But the 1st one opened in the states in the 60's.

Aren't these light days lovely? Gosh it hardly got dark at all last night.

Still real light and it is 9.30pm. I think scotland gets it even lighter than we do, don't you emptybox?

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening both.
At last a lovely sunny warm day. A little wind, but I don't mind that if it's warm. Didn't look at the temp, but think it was in the low 20s. A big difference to yesterday.

Tidied my own garden. Strimmed, mowed and pruned. It needed it as the grass hasn't been cut for 3 weeks. A gardener's own garden is always the last to be done.
If anything it was too hot in the greenhouse. The tomatoes seem to love it, but I've been growing an avocado (just for fun), and it was actually wilting in the heat, so I had to take it outside where it seemed to perk up.

That's clever of you getting your OH to clean the gazebo and BBQ Hicky. I thought that was your domain?
Glad you are enjoying your toasties.
Think they used the wrong cladding on the building, so instead of being fire retardant it actually accelerated the blaze. Someones head will roll I would imagine.

Hi Mollie. Glad you got a bit of a breeze today, to relieve the heat. And you were able to take your Mum out without resorting to the wine.
Yes in the summer it's stays lighter later the further north you go. On a bright night like tonight I can still just about see the colours in the garden now at 10.45pm.
Of course, the opposite is true in the winter, and it gets dark quicker.

Watched BB earlier. Thought Kayleigh and Chanelle were as bad as each other in that row, but probably right that Kayleigh was ejected, as she wouldn't stop threatening.
Yes Mollie, I was surprised Nicola didn't know she was in Europe.

Evening Both.

What a scorcher, here anyway, low 20'sc but just dun and no wind.

Didn't do much, brekkie via BBQ, tea via BBQ as well.

Finished fitting the mini taps, fitted spray heads were missing.

Had q number of messages from sons quite a bit this morning and a skype session with those 2 in Oz, that was nice.

The 2 Fig trees i pruned in the winter are growing like mad, each branch is now a tree, side branches everywhere.

Picked more raspberries, will make some jam when i have enough.

Mollie, They seem to be losing more from BB than they are evicting, wonder what this will change.

Why does the chair lift stress your mother so much, is it painful for her?

Sunset 9.45 here, sunrise is 04.43.

Emptybox, At least you got some work done in your own garden, as you say, usually last to get attention.

I must admit, O/H is a fantastic cleaner, never seen anyone so good, I am hopeless.

Yes, Kayleigh sure lost it, you can't act like that on BB.

Wonder who will be next out, mind you with 2 out that should be still in this will change evictions surely.

I think it will be brekkie in the Gazebo tomorrow as well, 24c, even hotter than today, wow.

glad to see summer has arrived up there now. That's good your tomatoes are doing well and your advocardot perked up outside.

Gosh still light up there at 10.45, wonder what time it gets light in the mornings?  I am guessing about 3.30? As I think it is around 4.45 here now.

Yes Kayleigh and Chanelle's behaviour was awful last night. Kayleigh deserved to be thrown out, can't believe how threatening she got and would not stop it! I do have to at how funny the awful language sounds though, when the BB voice reads out all that swearing in a posh voice!

Hicky

Good idea to eat via BBQ today as it was just too hot!

That's nice how you can talk to son so far away now via Skype.

Sounds like you will be due some nice figs soon.

Handy to have your OH being so good at cleaning, gives you more time to see to your garden produce. With 5 of us my house is always is need of a clean, lucky for me OH never minds helping.

I think mum gets upset with the hoist because she can't understand what is going on, she can't communicate at all now.

The heat here is awful! I must admit I will be glad to see the back of it ,as our house is sweltering. The sun is on the back of the house in the afternoon so the kitchen and lounge are boiling! The pets just lie around snoozing all day at the moment, bless them, not nice wearing a fur coat in this weather!

Yes Emptybox, shame on these big businesses putting profit before safety, even when the fire resistant cladding cost only a small amount more, they wouldn't use it. I heard it is banned in the US and Germany in flats over around 4 storeys high.

Time for BB ...enjoy the show. I am enjoying having it back again, but must admit there is noone who I like very much apart for Ralpo.

Wonder how many weeks they will run the show for this time?

As you say Hicky, HM's certainly seem to be leaving quickly this time round!

Goodnight both xxx

Evening both.
Another warm sunny day here, and with no wind it got hotter, about 24 degrees.
Going to be hot in the house tonight.
I think tomorrow will be hot as well, and then it cools down a bit.

That's nice that you got some messages from Australia Hicky.
Your BBQ was working overtime today.
Yes better to leave the cleaning to the experts.
Glad your figs are growing well.

Hi Mollie. Yes, I think it starts to get light here about 3 am around the time of the longest day.
It is a bit cringey when BB reads out the HMs bad language.
Sounds like the heat is dreadful there. It's just pleasant up here at the moment. But I don't like it when the house warms up to the extent that it's hard to sleep.

emptybox

Evening Both.

Another scorcher, 25c and sunny, no wind, had to keep going inside as it's a little cooler there.

Have doubled the watering times as they need more this weather, if that doesn't do the trick i can convert to twice a day instead.

Not long till the peas will be ready, they are long enough just need to fill out.

Toms not far off either. cucumber and peppers growing like crazy in the greenhouse.

Had brekkie in the gazebo off the BBQ, also tea as well.

Mollie, yes, crazy, we can chat away for as long as you want on Skype, we have their picture full screen and our picture in the corner so we can see what they see, and it's free.

I've been cleaning the oven shelves and sides using the standard oven cleaning kit, a bit messy, why she didn't call the experts in i have no idea, but we have the BBQ so we can cook anything.

I have a feeling that the cladding wasn't considered a risk as it was on the outside of a building, under normal circumstances you would say, well, how is it going to catch alight on the outside.

But of course, that wasn't the case.

Probably someone misunderstood exactly what the cladding was made of and the risks, or someone ordered the wrong cladding and noone noticed.

Emptybox, Yes, it was nice to talk to my lad in Oz on Skype, the other lads just messaged me.

I didn't realise what i had got into when O/H asked if we had an oven cleaning kit, of course i had one in the garage.

It's going to be hard to sleep again tonight, too humid.

Hicky

Hi Hicky.
Warm again today, up to 24, but cloud at times. It's cooled down a lot this evening though, so should be a more comfortable night.
Got a couple of jobs done.

I suppose it's only fair Hicky, your OH cleans out the gazebo, so you clean the oven.
Glad all your veg is coming on well.
My toms are coming on well, but have only just produced their second or third truss, so a lot of growing to do yet.

Yes, I've heard that Skype is good, although I've never had any reaaon to use it myself.
Hope your increase of watering times keep your plants from drying out.

BB on late tonight. That won't suit Mollie.

you are right, I did have a good moan when I switched C5 on at 10, and had to wait another half hour!

That's good you got your jobs done again, I assume you have caught up now and are up to date?

Hicky

I am not suprised you needed to double the watering time in this heat!

Yes oven cleaning is a horrible messy job, hope you have done it by now.

Skype is great for you with your lad being the other side of the world especially as it is free.

How are the wedding arrangements going? Are your flights booked yet?

Yes Hicky it certainly was difficult to sleep last night, I didn't go upstairs till after midnight, and got up again by 4am, and it was quite light by then. I really hate this heat/humidity and it seems to be no end in sight! My bedroom is on the 3rd floor in this house, like an attic room and it is sweltering!

I enjoyed BB last night, the laughs so far during this series have been few, but I thought the gnome task was really funny last night. I thought that older guy was not nice to Rebecca, so rude, no wonder she was upset.

Hope we like the new HM's when we get them.

Have a good day, I am off to get some washing out, then will have a frozen jublee to cool down.

M

Evening Both.

A hot day 26c with no wind, wow.

My waterworks seems to be ok, it seems i got rid of that infection. waiting for a letter from the consultant, was referred back to him because of the prostate blood veins on the surface.

Didn't do a lot really, put more of the greenhouse pipework together, thats complete now, have just made the 16 short 4mm pieces with the new vari flow taps on, didn't realise the 50 i bought would be the exact number, don't have 1 over even, wow.

Might be able to use the greenhouse system if i go out and fit these 16 droppers, i have turned all the taps off.

Just looked at the temperature for tomorrow and it's hotter than today, less sun and more breeze, that will do me.

Picked more raspberries, added to the freezer bag.

Saw a ripe cherry as well, peas need a week, the toms are growing like mad outside, about 4 trusses, always stop them at 6 or you overload the poor plant.

Emptybox, Your toms seems to be behind, my original one outside is bigger than me, it was a grafted one from a garden centre.

You could use Skype to chat with your relations, they just load it then you do then you call their call sign, then you turn on the video, i think you can be in most places in the world, it doesn't have to be outside the country though.

This extreme heat will mean the trees/plants need more water, i have an emergency override on the computers so i can turn it on any time and give an extra 10 minutes, well, thats what i have it set as.

Mollie, The oven cleaner is a kit, if a company does it it's about ÂĢ80, we use the kit, it comes with a plastic bottle of chemical and a heavy duty zip clear plastic bag with a pair of blue rubber gloves, the bag is big enough for any size of oven parts, i did the 2 shelves then the next day did the 2 side sections that the shelves slide into.

I did a test to check were the elements were in the oven, but it's a Fan oven so it doesn't have elements in the sides or bottom or top, the element is at the back around the fan. i wanted to protect the bottom of the oven from drips etc but i was concerned about an underside element, have ordered big non stick material to put down, i had some in but it was too small.

I don't know about wedding arrangements etc or travel, i don't get involved.

I'm hot and i'm on the ground floor so no wonder you are roasting.

In my computer room now it's 25.8c and we have windows open all over the place, just checked forecast, it's 25c outside.

Yes, the gnome task was funny, Joe was nasty to Rebecca, it hurts more when others can hear what he said.

At least i can watch Love Island then BB tonight.

Hicky

Hi both.
Not bad day here. Started cool but with strong sunshine this afternoon it ended up a warm evening. Last night was much more comfortable for me.
High of about 20 degrees today, which is plenty really.

It was very light this evening, and I was in the garden at 11pm and could still see my way around.
There were a lot of bats wheeling round the outside of the house. Don't think they've taken up residence again. Couldn't see them going in anywhere, and there are no signs or sounds in the house. But they must be staying somewhere local.

Hi Mollie. I am mostly up to date workwise, but there are a lot of hedges to cut right around now.
That was a short night's sleep for you? Hopefully there won't be too many more very hot nights.
Hope you enjoyed your "frozen jublee", whatever that might be?

Hi Hicky. Glad your waterworks are in control. Hope the consultant doesn't think you need anything more done.
That was lucky, buying just the right amount of taps.
I think my tomatoes are just about on their usual schedule. I don't usually have any toms ready to pick till the beginning of August. They're growing like mad in the warm weather anyway.
My brother isn't interested in Skyping me. We just have a traditional weekly landline phone call. (we both get free weekend calls)
The other relative I speak to (my Uncle) doesn't even have the internet or a mobile phone anyway.

Yes I was on Rebecca's side on that arguement, although she was a bit too shouty in tonight's prog.
You saw the new housemates on BOTS. Not very promising looking really.
