Beautiful day here, but i think we should make the most of it over the next couple of days, as it's set to get colder midweek.

A day of domestic chores for me. Cleaning, hoovering and ironing.

I'm now watching the programme on BBC2 about human origins. 'The Incredible Human Journey' with Alice Roberts. Just what I'm interested in again.

ETA: I wrote this an hour ago before the Alice Roberts programme, and thought I'd posted it, but came back and found I hadn't, so the programme is now over.
But it was really good, and of course Alice is a beautiful redhead, so that didn't hurt.

We already have one of the 5.8Mhz transmitters that we use for the bedroom which receives the Sky+ signal from downstairs, but you can select up to 8 channels on them so a second one shouldn't be a problem, i've got a few spare TV's and if one of these isn't big enough i'll get another one.
Not sure what size I need if it's going to be at the side of the Monitor.

A scorcher today. Too hot for working really.
I bit the bullet and bought a new blade for my mower - £18.
It's cutting much better now, although I'll probably hit another stone tomorrow, but at least i can keep the old one as a spare.

A shame about Susan Boyle, but she was a fragile person, and the stress was too much for her.
Whoever hyped her up as the guaranteed winner has a lot to answer for.

I'm watching the Time Team special on Stonehenge, tonight on CH4.

and i too really missed all the great places we have to visit over here. No sites of historic interest to visit over there, beaches and BBQ's can get very boring.

Played football an hour ago, was hard in the heat, but everyone was walking around more or less haha. Legs are aching already, think I'll need the Radox tomorrow.

Daughter is a nightmare to advise about heatstroke and sunblock She should wear a baseball hat as she also is fair haired and yes it's naturally fair

I was in one way but not in others. My work room was a nightmare coming true It took me most of the day to find everything

He misses out great Cod & chips that we get here as well.

yes a lovely day here today too, seems hot already.
Oh yes, some of the things you mention that your lad want, is just the same things I missed.

I remember the 1st Christmas day we were in Oz, we met up with a lot of other Brit families, and had a BBQ while the kids all played in the pool in their back yard (they always call their garden a "yard"), and all we did was moan that it was not like Christmas in Oz, and we wished we were home in the cold, eating roast, with sprouts etc, and watching good tv. The tv shows were bad there too. And no proper fish and chip shops.
your lad is going to have a great time home again, to appreciate it all.

Just reading the paper, it seems there isn't any furniture in the house when they go in, just a few boxes/crates, no beds either, think they have to earn/win them some how.
