Hi Hicky.
Really glad your biopsy results came back clear.
Pity you've still got a little bladder infection. Perhaps the doc will give you some more anti-biotics for it?

Dull mild and dry here. Thought I'd have a go at fixing my petrol hedgetrimmer, but it seemed to be working fine. It's only when I'm on a job that it lets me down. You can't really fix something that's working.

Glad you got some work done in the garden and got a seat in the gazebo.
I'll have a watch of the Nikki video later.

Not sure if you know that the Kelsae onion originally comes from Kelso? (my nearest town, 7 miles away)
"Kelsae" is how you pronounce the town, in the Borders dialect.

Enjoyed The Voice, but pity the girl with no shoes didn't get through.
Now watching the film 'Riddick'.

so pleased your biopsy came back clear, at least you no longer have that concern in the back of your mind now. I know you have to keep the fluids well up if you have cystitus, but I know it is common, so hopefully it will clear soon.

You probably already know this, but I can see the home remedy treatment sites all seem to recommend drinking lots of fluid in general, and cucumber juice, lemon juice, and spinach seems to be recomended.

http://www.natural-homeremedie...emedies-cystitis.htm

http://www.home-remedies-for-y...remedy/Cystitis.html

That is good you are getting things done in the garden, I bet your gazebo is nice now to sit in.

Thanks so much for the Nikkie video,I will specifically look at this link as I do like Nikki. I did start to watch the 1st show, but watched it for a while, and saw lots of people entering the house but after watcihng for about half hour there was still no sign of Nikki, and I haven't had chance to watch it since.

Emptybox

what a pity your petrol hedge trimmer keeps giving up just when you need it. That is interesting about the name of the onion coming from by you. I too was disppointed the shoeless girl didn't get through on The Voice.

I bet with this nice weather you will start being busy with your gardens.

In case you are interested, this week is gardening week in Aldi, although I don't think you would look good in their pink gardening gloves.

https://www.aldi.co.uk/special...3Apopular&page=1

Busy day yesterday as I had mum all day, 7 carers had the day off to go together to see the rugby in Cardiff. Lucky the weather was nice, so I took mum out in her wheelchair all along the seafront and to the harbour, and round town, we even had ice cream on the sea front. I thought the carers had tickets to actually go and see the rugby, but their idea of seeing the rugby was from within the pub!  Their fave game though is one versus England, so a lot of Welsh go into Cardiff to watch this match, even though it was being played in Twickenham.    My fave carer said she was only going for the vodka!

Going to peg my washing out now as it is such a nice day, already took dog out for a walk.

Have a good day both, hope the sun is shining where you are.  xx

M

Evening All.

went out for brekkie, only had bacon, egg, sausage, mushrooms, black pudding, beans, hash brown, toast and tea.

What a lovely day here, it reached 16C and sunny in the end, no wind either.

Didn't do a lot, opened the gazebo and brushed some leaves up.

Watched some BB Canada, interesting.Tried the new shower head for the bath, it's fantastic, didn't realise you could fit these adapters into mixer taps, the shower head and pipe just clips into the adapter, so easy.

Made a Lamp roast, a boned half shoulder with roasties, carrots, cabbage and gravy, yummy, I did the meat & gravy, O/H did the veg.

Hicky

Hi Mollie.
Dull here today but mild. Don't think I've had sunshine for a few days now.

Thanks for the Aldi link. Don't think they have a rechargeable hedge cutter?
Aldi is about 20 miles from me, as opposed to 7 for Lidl, so I'd have to make a special journey. But I would do that if I knew they had something I wanted.

Lucky that you had nice weather for your day looking after Mum yesterday. I'm sure it was easier, being able to get out and about.
Funny your carers all trooping off to Cardiff, even though they were going to watch the game in a pub?

Hi Hicky.
Glad that you had a nice sunny day.

Is that all you had for breakfast? You must still be starving?   At least your lamb roast may have taken the edge off?
Good that your new shower is a success.

Going to watch The Story of Cats on ITV1 then Doctor Thorne.
Am recording Beowulf to watch later.

Good for you going out for,...  brekkie out and hen enjoying a nice roast for dinner later.

Glad you had nice weather, we did too. The carer was able to take mum out for a walk and I took the dog out. Also got plenty of washing dried outside today and over the weekend. Glad you are pleased with your shower attachment, handy you have the walk in shower too. Did you manage to get your hair cut today and also out in your garden?

Thanks for the Canada BB, I have been catching up with it. Good to see Nikki on it. I am on episode 4, could you let me know when the next one goes online please?

Emptybox

shame Aldi don't have a rechargable hedge cutter for you. Did you get to do a bit of gardening today?

I had lift with son when he went to college, missed my bus home, so treated myself to a nice jumper in the sale, I call it my ice cream jumper as the colours look like an ice cream.

My long day looking after mum tomorrow, as i have to catch bus, then wait for son to finish drama so I can get lift home later. So don't get home until nearly 10pm.

Good job I caught up with washing today.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

A lovely day here, about 12C but with the sun out all day of course it seems warmer.

Didn't get my hair cut, got my toe nails done though at the clinic thingie.

I am a bit confused with the Canada Vids, after Episode 4, i watched 5A, then 5B, the 6, then 7 now on 8, but there's loads in the listing, i zip through using the time bar on the screen and click in intervals of 5mm and see what is on, have seen a lot of Nikki, if she isn't on i zip along, Episode 9 for me next.

I've seen the second eviction.

That was good being able to get your washing done and carer taking your Mum out.

Cleaned the outside of the BBQ, just the inside to do now.

Will try and get the gardener next week, am expecting some deliveries, plants, patio heater, only waiting for 10 deliveries over the next 10 weeks.

Hicky

Evening.
Very misty and foggy this morning. Brightened up this afternoon, with some sunshine.

Didn't work because of the fog, but went into town to pick up my prescription and buy a few things.
Bought a new cross-cut shredder that can cope with credit cards and staples as well as paper. It can't cope with  CDs seemingly, but then I don't need to shred any CDs.

Glad you are pleased with your new 'ice cream' jumper Mollie. Somehow I doubt it's plain vanilla flavour?
As you say, good job you got doggie walked and washing done today, if it's your busy day tomorrow.

Hi Hicky.
I need my hair and beard pruned as well, but I do mine myself. I'm waiting for the warmer weather.
At least you got your pedicure.

Hope you can get the gardener for next week, and all your deliveries arrive when they should.

Watched Davina then the X-Files tonight.

emptybox

Evening Emptybox.

Another lovely day here, 10C, did some work in the garden.

Went to Costco for some food to have on the BBQ, sausages, steak, beef burgers, salmon burgers, lamp chops, got another

Got a bit set of lights for the gazebo, ready made up with 9mm heavy duty cable, moulded construction complete with 24 big 15W lamps and 12 spare lamps, length 14.8 meters.

My Asparagus plants came, also the 2 threaded half inch pipe adapters for the tree feed tank and a jar opener, 7 more items to come, the adapters from Hong Kong came anyway, by air mail.

Went to the doctors this morning, they are having a walk-in 2 weeks from 8.30 till 10am, so O/H took me when she finished work just after 8am, it's 5 miles away, had to wait in a queue but got seen in the end, he said my bladder was fine, sorted tablets for Arthritis, and inhaler, for my dizzy spells he gave me another prescription for the tablets, not much more i can do, he checked BP, said it was fine.

Got the Hospital friday so they can check on the Hip, it's 12 months since they replaced it.

We have 2 of those shredders, O/H uses one for paper with our name or address on and i have one in the summerhouse for making shredded material for composting, mine does CD's but never used it for that.

Will plant the 10 new Asparagus roots tomorrow, that will make the whole of 1 raised bed just for Asparagus.

Thats not good, being laid off because of fog, but at least you got into town.

Hicky

Hi Hicky..
Glad you had nice weather. I could certainly do with some up here so i could get the season started properly. It's early yet though, I usually don't start grass cutting till April, but because of the mild winter I won't have that luxury this year.

Looks like you got a lot of nice BBQ grub?
Those lights will light up your gazebo a treat.
Glad some of your items come anyway. You should have plenty of asparagus either this year or next, after you've got the bed planted.

That's lucky that you could just get a walk-in appointment with the doc, and there's nothing to worry about with your bladder or BP.
Pity you've still got to take the tablets for dizziness.
Hope they think your hip has come on fine, when you go to the hospital on Friday.

I already had a strip cut shredder, but I thought a cross cut one would be more secure. Plus a lot of stuff comes with staples in it, and the strip cut one can't shred those, so you had to spend time getting the staples out first.

Surprised there is no post from me for 3 days now, either I forgot to press "Reply" again, or was too exhausted to post. I get real tired the days I have to catch the bus to look after mum.

Hicky

Pleased to hear the doc's visit gave you the all clear. Gosh a whole year since you had that op. Hope your check up goes well. I bet your gazebo will look lovely with the lights. You will have to post us a photo so we can see it.

Emptybox

let's hope you get some good weather so you don't get too behind garden wise. It was lovely here today. Yes we too have a shredder, hope you are pleased with your new one.

We are going to see OH's family in North Wales tommorrow, and staying for 2 nights, so I won't be around for a few days. Daughter has been busy making little niece an Easter bonnet for playschool. It has to be made out of recycled stuff, so daughter has been busy paper mashing newspapers, and cutting up old birthday cards.

Luckily I managed to book mum's fave carer to look after her, so she will be spoilt and taken out and about over the weekend.

Can't find anything of interest to watch on tv tonight.

Will have to look and see if I can work out what episode comes next on Canadian BB.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Emptybox.

Another rather nice day, only 9C but sunny all day.

Built up the new Patio Heater, ordered the gas for it, comes tomorrow.

Had our 1st BBQ, sausages, fillet steak and burgers.

They have all been cutting their grass around here, and just seen the tractor cutter doing the school grounds.

Had another letter from the hospital, from the top Urology person, they are going to discuss the results of my tests at a MDT (whatever that is) and they will arrange to see me in clinic after this, oh, so this may not be the end of it, not sure what they can do, but we'll see.

Talking about the shredder, we never throw anything away with our name, address or any type of ID.

Hospital in the morning, probably need an xray as well.

Hope Mollie isn't too stressed.

Hicky

Evening both.
Another dull damp day here. Did get a bit of sunshine late afternoon, but not enough to dry the grass off. Reasonably mild though.

Thanks for the Lidl info Mollie. Looks like that sale is on Easter Monday, so I might be able to call in on the off-chance they have the hedgecutter.

Enjoy your visit to North Wales. Hopefully you'll be able to recharge your batteries, after getting tired out looking after your Mum.

Hicky. Glad you had a nice day, and was able to enjoy the first BBQ of the season.
Don't think the Council here starts cutting grass till April.

Good luck for tomorrow. Wonder what will come out of the Urologist's discussions?

Enjoyed 'Ugly House to Lovely House', then the F1 challenge between Guy Martin and David Coulthard.

emptybox

Hi guys.
Yet another dull damp day here.
No fair you guys getting all the sunshine. I need some to dry the grass up.
Hopefully next week?............

Watching Sport Relief.
Really great to see Frank Spencer (Michael Crawford) again.
Thought it might be a bit cringe worthy, but they did it just right.
Gemma Arterton as 'Jessica' was spot on.

Hope you had a good Hospital visit Hicky, and managed to get some food while you were there?

emptybox

Evening Emptybox.

Just cloud all day, about 8C though.

'I'm sure i posted last night, strange. hospital went fine, just got an XRay, they said it was still ok after 12 months, I asked for an XRay, they said take a picture of the XRay, which i did, will show you when i put it on the Puter.

Had Brekkie in the gazebo this morning, bacon, egg, sausage, mushrooms, watched F1 then my lad and his gang came, i got him to install the Gazebo lights, which he did, then we tested them, fine.

Just had baked spuds, spaghetti and Duck breast.

Been watching some BB Canada live, also saw the third eviction on video, Episode 8.

Watched some of Sport Relief, saw Frank Spencer, it was good.

Hicky

Hi Hicky.
Another dull day here, and cold as well.

Glad your appointment went well, and the X-Ray showed all was well.

I had a cooked brekkie as well, although not in my gazebo.
That's good that your lad was able to fix up the lights for you.

No Voice tonight because of the rugby. So watched the film 'The Day After Tomorrow', now 'Kick-Ass 2'.

emptybox

Evening Emptybox.

not too bad a day here, 10C with light wind.

Went for a Sunday lunch at the local, had a beef roast dinner, very nice too.

Just watched F1 this afternoon, didn't do much else, had a steak for tea with onions and mushrooms.

Watched the Voice, only spotted it looking through the programs.

At least we are in Spring now, starting today.

Hicky

Hi Hicky.
Not bad day here either. Even a little sunshine for a change.
Just hoping for dry weather next week, as quite a few places will want the grass started before Easter.

Glad you enjoyed your roast dinner at the pub.
Enjoyed The Voice as well, although I was disappointed that the violin girl (Charlie Blue?) didn't get through.

More problems with my car. The front passenger brake is sticking on, getting very hot. I expect it needs a new caliper?
I'm hoping it carries on until I can get it MoT'd in 5 weeks or so, but I might have to get it done earlier. I guess I can always use the van?

Hope Mollie is having a good time in North Wales.

emptybox

Hi Hicky.
That's some serious hardware you've got installed there.
Useful for setting off airport scanners, I would think.

Not bad day here. Quite a lot of sunshine.
Got quite a few grass cutting jobs done. Not used to the hard work.
Hopefully it'll stay nice tomorrow to let me get on, as the forecast for later in the week doesn't seem as good.
Had another phone call tonight from someone wanting their grass done.

Watching Davina again; this time in the Costa Rican rain forrest.

emptybox

Evening Emptybox.

Not sure if it does set off the alarm in the airport, it depends on what material (metal) it is, can't be helped anyway.

Not very warm, sunny later in the day, was hoping the gardener was coming but he must have been too busy.

Need to get all the covers off the trees and spray the compost then add 1" of manure, it's too much for me to do really.

Hope Mollie is enjoying her Break, do her good, she deserves it.

Hicky

Evening All.

Not much happening here, gardener didn't come.

Sun didn't come out either, spread the rest of the slate out in the back, got a few buckets of slate in case a section gets too worn.

Lots of lovely buds coming on some of the fruit trees, a few for the first time as well.

Some of the flower clusters will be like in 5's or more, have to see what the best way to protect certain fruit is.

Hicky

Hi Hicky.
Pity your gardener couldn't come, but at least you got the slate spread.
Glad the buds are coming on well.

Not bad day here, dull but dry. Got another few jobs done. The moss is quite high in a lot of lawns, so can't cut them very close. Just taking the top off.
Hopefully I can get some more done tomorrow or Thursday, then I can take the long weekend off over Easter.

Very bad about the attacks in Belgium. Don't know what the answer is?

Watched Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners. I think I like that programme, because although my house isn't spotless, I know it'll never be as bad as the houses in the programme.
Then I watched the new BBC1 drama 'The A Word' about an autistic youngster.

emptybox

Evening Emptybox.

Heard from the gardener, he had injured his back the other day, if he's ok he will come tomorrow.

I ordered the roofing for the garage, getting galv corrugated sheet with fixings, my worker relative can come in April to sort it for me.

It was only 9C today, no sun though which makes it seem colder, didn't do much, watched some BB Canada live and watched the next video of the HOH, have to use different browsers, strange.

Had scrambled egg for brekkie, cheese on toast for midday, fresh Salmon with baked spud and cheese sauce for tea.

More buds emerging now, very exciting, another week or 2 will show what flowers will emerge.

The Plum Tree that was covered in Plums last year is laden with flowers all ready with more flowers opening each day, that means the picking period is extended, will have to protect from the birds and wasps earlier this year, but i have got all the insect nets as well as the bird netting.

Hicky

Hi Hicky.
Dull here and positively cold. Got one job done anyway.

Pity about your gardener Hicky. I have sympathy for him. Hope he's OK for tomorrow.
That's good that you'll have help to fit the new garage roof, when the stuff comes.
Sounds like you could  have a bumper plum crop this year, if the summer obliges with good weather.

Had fish, chips and peas for supper. Battered cod. I like battered cod.
Watched Horizon, and now 24hrs in A&E.

Presume you've seen the dialog from Olly?

emptybox

Evening Emptybox.

Just seen the message for Olly, hadn't noticed there was one, hope Molly is back on her feet soon.

Not a very nice day here, 9C but damp and miserable.

Gardener still off, so i'll have to wait.

Going to my lads for brekkie Sunday, then they are coming here for lunch.

Have asked the men working on a couple of local house to reseal the roof ridge tiles and the gully, it needs doing, they have just done a house and a bungalow by me.

I've ordered another hose reel as the last one was used for my tree feed, i need a hose reel to take water from the rain water tanks, i've got 400 litres of rain water i keep in case it's needed, the auto watering system uses mains water, i haven't turned that all on yet this year.

It looks like i'll have some fruit on trees that didn't fruit last year as well.

Hoping the new Raspberry canes will do well this year.

Had a nice brekkie, some speciality mushrooms, some of my bacon & 2 fried eggs, for tea i had a Fray Bentos Steak and Kidney pie that was in a tin, very nice it was.

Hicky

Hi Hicky.
Yes I hope Mollie feels better soon.

Dull and windy today. Didn't go out as I can probably leave the rest of my places till after Easter.

Hope you have a nice Sunday with your lad and family.
That was handy that you could get the people working on local houses to fix your roof.

Watched Medical Mysteries on 5, then Line of Duty on BBC2, then Bear Grylls on +1. Now watching a recording of Digging for Britain.

emptybox

Evening Emptybox.

Happy Birthday Mollie

A beautiful day here, 14C with sun all day and hardly any wind.

Just did some watering from the rainwater tanks as i haven't set the auto system up yet, probably in another week.

Have got some thick Asparagus Spears coming up, lots of buds opening now.

Am expecting the garage roofing material tomorrow, with a little luck.

I watched Medical Mysteries, wow, there's some strange stuff out there.

O/H doing a bit of shopping in the morning so need to list what i want, got loads in the freezer so just need snacks really, have a snack at 1pm, something i've never had till 12 months ago, but it's nice.

Hope Mollie is feeling a bit better now, thats rotten being i'll.

Hicky

Evening All.

Not so good today, warm enough at 12C but dd wet this afternoon.

Didn't really do much, my roofing sheets for the garage came, also my hose reel came, and O/H brought an extension lead home for the gazebo.

It looks like the Rhubarb is sprouting as well, another week and i will know which trees have flowers on.

Hope Mollie is feeling better.

Watching the Voice now, I see 2 singers dropped out.

Hicky

Hi Hicky.
Dull and drizzly this morning and heavy rain this afternoon.

Glad your roofing sheets came, and your hose reel.
That's great that your asparagus and rhubarb are coming up well.

Enjoyed The Voice but didn't realise 2 had dropped out (missed the beginning).
TBH the only one I paid much attention to was Cody. My favourites were violin girl and no shoes girl (they may have other names?), and they're already out.

Now watching the film The Heat with Sandra Bullock.
Have recorded Shakespeare's Tomb to watch later.

Hope Mollie is recovering?

I've missed you. xx

Thanks for the birthday wishes. My birthday and weekend away were a let down, too ill to do anything. Now I am so glad to be back and sane again though...had a real dose of the flu, and it was blooming awful!! But I am on the mend, didn't eat a thing for 6 days, and had to stay in bed...now I have to eat little and often and try and mend myself. All the family have had it, OH caught it from work initially, I still have a real bad cough.

Hicky

wow that piccie of your hip is impressive. Glad your hospital visit went well. Things improved so much for you after that op, didnt they?  Sounds like your garden is coming on well, and it will be nice now the light nights are with us.

Emptybox

sorry your car is playing up again, let's hope the MOT does't break the bank. Looks like your busy period has definitely started now with requests for grass cuts coming in.

Don't forget to have a peak in Lidl's tomorrow to see if the hedge cuttter suits.

I am having to recommence my jobs a little at a time, amazing how the energy goes out of the window with flu, no food and persistent cough. Lucky OH is well now and off work till Tuesday to help and I am keeping out of mum's way until well, but I have a great team of carers who have been looking after her well and taking her out and about.

Am watching the Queen programme now, then bed, I am still needing a lot more sleep than normal.

Goodnight both xx

Evening Both.

Had a great day, at my lads for brekkie then they came her for a 4pm Roast, had Turkey and Lamb leg.

Only pottered about in the garden, put some hose on the water butt hose reel.

Just been watching TV, saw the boat races.

Glad your on the mend Mollie, that was awful for you, it's not good not eating for 6 days, wow.

At least your mum is being looked after.

I said to the Surgeon that the op was a miracle, how they did an op like that through a small slit in my hip i don't know.

Looking forward to these light nights, fantastic, i can see more buds every day, shoots showing through from the Raspberry plants as well.

Hicky

Welcome back Mollie, and Happy Easter to you.
So glad that you are slowly getting better.
What bad luck to get a bad dose of flu, just when you were trying to have a break, and for it to continue over your Birthday.

And bad that your whole family had it.
Good job the carers were able to take the strain with your Mum.
Yes better to limit contact, as it would not be good if she caught it.
You'll have to take it slowly to build up your strength again.

Sunshine and showers here today.
Just did the normal Sunday things. Went for the papers and went to the supermarket this afternoon.
Don't think Scotland takes as much notice of Easter as England? Certainly everything seemed open as usual today.

I'm hoping to pop into Lidl tomorrow, to see if they've got anything.
I see Aldi are doing a garden sale the same day as well, but that's in a different town unfortunately.
Also hoping to pot up my tomato plants tomorrow.

Watched Our Queen at 90 as well, now watching the thing about Coronation Street, even though I never watch Coronation Street.

emptybox

Good Afternoon Emptybox.

A bit windy here, dry today so far though, not very warm about 8C, brightening up a bit now, not really nice enough to do much outside, will wait for the wind to go.

Having another Roast tonight with the rest of the Leg of Lamb, it was half price in Sainsbury's so we couldn't resist.

Took a picture of the Plum tree Lizzy in the garden, laden again with flowers so  could get another good crop, strange it in flower so early, no other tree is in full flower yet.

Also took a picture of the 2 young Fig trees in the Summerhouse, will put them out in May into their big pots.

Right, i'll get the pictures from Twitter, it's easier to send them there so i can get a link.

Plum Tree Lizzy in Flower

Plum Tree Lizzy in Flower all Ready

Young Fig trees in Summerhouse
Young Fig Tree's in Summerhouse

Hicky

Hi Hicky.
Not bad day here, I think storm Katie passed us by?
Nice sunny afternoon, and no wind.

That little plum tree looks great with all the blossom on it. The figs look healthy as well.
Enjoy your roast lamb tonight.

Actually went to both Lidl and Aldi today, which meant going to one town then on to another. However unfortunately neither had any cordless hedgecutters.
The Aldi is just a small one as well, despite being in a bigger town.
However I did buy a couple of things for my computer in Currys, so the trip wasn't wasted. A USB mouse and a Homeplug starter kit. One of the wi-fi adapters was playing up, and this TP Link homeplug kit was only ÂĢ20 so I thought I'd give it a try. Seems to work fine and is faster than the wi-fi, so I may get another one for my other PC at some time.

Think I'm going to watch Guy Martin in a bit, then Maigret on ITV, and I'll record The Island with Bear Grylls.

Hope you are still recovering Mollie, and taking it easy?

emptybox

both

Hicky

wow, that sure is a lot of pretty blossom and so early in the season. Your figs look they are coming on well too. Hope you enjoy your bargain roast.

Emptybox

what a pity you couldn't get what you wanted from Lidl or Aldi, I blame the fact people are on Easter hols so must of already bought them all up before you got there! Good job you got some stuff from Currys so your drive wasn't entirely wasted.

at you watching the Corrie show even though you don't watch Corrie. I saw that a while ago, and found it interesting, but I would of course, as I am a Corrie fan.

Still feeling tired as the damn cough kept me awake till nearly 1am, but am eating a lot better now. Just a matter of time now with the cough and getting my strength back. Managed to take dog out with OH, and sat around a lot more than normal watching tv though.

If not too tired I too will watch Maigret.

Goodnight both xxx
