Hicky

fish and chips taste so nice when you eat them from fresh on the prom don't they?

That is some years ago you worked in Birmingham isn't it? I think they still have a car factory there now. And sounds like they certainly have a lot more food places there now than when you were there.

Thank goodness you don't have long to wait until that op now, let's hope you have no more blockages in the meantime.

That will be so convenient once the counil have sorted that drop kerb for you.

Emptybox

glad the weather has been ok for you and you are managing to get a bit of work done. Good job at least your eye appointment was free after all the money you have been shelling out for your van.

In the end I was not bothered who won BB, but I did thnk Jade was one of the main HM's so it was a shame she was not in the final.

Happy to say that we actually made it away for one night.
All went well, I rang the carers about 6 times as had to tell them about mum's anti biotics. She was not too good Wednesday morning, but at least the cough seems bit better now.
Our hotel in Birmingham was lovely, the sort I like, not fancy and trendy but old fashioned, bit shabby furntiture, but that was in character because the main building dated from the 1700, used to be highway inn. So it was around when you were there too Hicky.   It had a plaque outside saying Tolkien had stayed there. Here it is...

http://www.ploughandharrowhotel.co.uk/

Mum's sisters met us at the hotel and were very pleased to see us, gave me a bracelet for mum as she likes her sparkles.  OH also met a freind he used to work with, who travelled half hour each way to meet in the bar for an hour, so that was nice, OH's course was boring so he was glad we went with him the night before. Me and daughter went round the museum whilst he was there, very good, one display was treasures from around AD700.
History of B'ham exjibition showed what child evacuees had in their little suitcases, they would only take around 5 things, I remember how both of my parents had been evacuated to Wales in the war as children. Mum said no one told you where you were going, parents didn't even know, you were just packed off on a train with a gas mask and little case.

Were you evacuated from Liverpool during the war Hicky?

Carers took mum out a walk and looked after her as well as ever whilst I was away. Thank goodness she didn't have a breahtless attack again.

Gosh I am missing not having BB to watch. Just watching something about talent shows on C5 now, thank goodness celeb Bb is on next month. HOpe they dont' tell us everyone who is on before launch night.

Have a good evening both xx

M

Hi both.

Very wet and windy overnight and first thing.

It dried up for the afternoon, but stayed very windy.

Got a big hedgecutting job done this afternoon.

It was a conifer hedge so I didn't think my rechargeable one would be able to handle it.

My petrol one seems to be running slow since I 'repaired' it. Think it's not getting enough fuel through? It did the job, but think I'll still end up having to buy another one eventually.

Yes, I didn't mind Chloe winning. But as you say Mollie, I wish Jade had been there in contention.

Glad you enjoyed your time in Brum. Somehow I thought you were there for more than the one night? Nice looking Hotel though.

Glad your Mum was OK with her carers.

The museum sounds interesting. I'd have liked to see those treasures from AD700. I'm interested in the Saxon period.

(and I also like Tolkien)

Hi Hicky.

That's expensive for the kerb?

They should really build those into the pavement in the first place, outside residential properties.

You might still need the catheter for a few days after your op, until things settle down, so your flushing techniques might come in handy yet.

I watched '20 moments that rocked talent shows' as well Mollie.

Started to watch the following programme 'Lip-synch Battle', but thought it was pretty lame. And as it was American, I didn't know who the people were anyway, so I just watched some recordings.

emptybox

Evening Both.

Mollie, it wasn't a car factory in Birmingham i was working in, it was a Lucas Factory making and re-doing Dynamo's etc. that was prior to me getting called up.

I am going to keep flushing the catheter, every 3 days should do it.

Glad you enjoyed your stay in Birmingham, worked and stayed around there many times over the years.

Thats a nice hotel, lovely for your hubby seeing a friend there.

I wasn't an evacuee, we had an air-raid shelter over the road but when the air-raid siren went sometimes we hid under the stairs.

I think i had a gas mask, dreadful things to wear.

Yes, roll on CBB.

Emptybox, it's been a nice day here, my lad and his lot came after their little ones had been for swimming lessons.

Pity your petrol hedge cutter is playing up, a blow if you have to replace it.

I'll be glad when the council do the pavement, it will look good.

I will have a catheter after the Op, but can't wait to get rid of it.

Hicky

Hi Hicky.

Glad it was a nice day with you, and your family came over.

Still windy here but mostly dry with a bit of sun.

Got four places cut. More than usual on a Saturday, but because the van will be in dock on Tuesday again, I needed to get them done. Still need to get a full day in on Monday to keep on top of it though, so hope the weather is good.

I think I can do most hedges with my rechargeable hedgecutter, but I still need the petrol one for conifer hedges and holly etc. Also the rechargeable one will only keep going for 45 mins at a time, so not good for long sections, unless I can get another battery for it.

(or perhaps I'll just buy another one from Lidl, and have 2 of them )

Struggled to find much to watch tonight. Ended up viewing the comedy film 'The Watch' on CH4. It had Ben Stiller in it, but was pretty silly.

emptybox

Good afternoon both

Hicky

is it your pre-op tomorrow? Not sure what it involves? Don't think you stay at the hospital long for it though? I hope all goes well at the pre-op ready for Thursday. Do you have to stay in for the op, and if so, how long for? Yes indeed I bet you will be so relieved when you finally get rid of that catheter. At least you know how to flush yourself now if you have to keep it in for awhile. Let's hope you don't need it for too long post op though.

Oh yes, I have heard of Lucas in Birmingham. My parents told me they too remembered the air raid sirens and having to go into the shelter, sometimes the middle of the night.

Good luck for the pre op and the op, and let us know how you are as soon as you get chance. I always read here, even on the occasions it is too late for me to post.

Emptybox

shame the hedgecutter played up despite your fix it job. Hope the weather has been good for you today, as you are hoping to get some work done. Nuisance you will be van-less again.

Yes I too am struggling to find some decent tv now BB has finished. But they never tend to put much on during the main summer holiday period. I am sure BB used to be on in July though?

Had lovely weather all over the weekend here.

Been out most of the weekend as weather so good, either with family shopping or walking doggie or walking mum in wheelchair. Lucky she had a good weekend, not so weepy.
Saturday was the seaside carnival and me and OH went to see it and mum and the carer joined us. Mum was happily munching a bright green ice cream cone that the carer had got her when we saw her.   I took over later and she ate another ice cream cone.
And yeaterday mum was down the family pub with a carer and her family, the carer showed me a photo of mum happily holding her baby sister, then they took her to Gregs for a pasty and ice cream on seafront, then I took over and took her for another ice cream.   I am getting a bit fed up of ice cream, so had a latte instead.

It was raining here this morning, cleared a bit now, but still a bit cloudy, hope my washing dries ok. Tv does not look promising again tonight.

Any idea when the new CBB starts?

Have a good day both. xx

hope Hicky gets on ok.

M

Hi Mollie.

It's been raining this afternoon here, so although I got a couple of jobs done this morning, I haven't got everything I needed to get done.

It'll just have to get fitted it once I get my van back again.

Just about to unload my equipment out of the van, ready for me to take it down to the garage first thing tomorrow.

Glad you had nice weather at the weekend. Wasn't bad here either.

Lucky that your Mum was feeling OK. Sounds like she might overdose on all that ice-cream though?

CBB seemingly starts on Saturday August 22nd

*according to this article, so more than a month away.

(* NB don't click if you don't want to hear rumours about who might go in )

Good luck with your pre-op stuff tomorrow Hicky (not sure what that entails?)

Hopefully it's just to check that you are fit enough for the op on Thursday?

Under The Dome at 10pm CH4, I always watch. Not sure what else though?

Evening Both.:+))))))))))))

A pretty windy cloudy day here.

My new water butt came for the Gazebo, thats fitted.

A friend from the D.G spy forum cam to see the garden, she came to see it at my last house a couple of years ago.

she was impressed, she liked the Bungalow as well.

Emptybox, I couldn't find anything to watch, saw a Undercover Boss, and  watched some Master Chef programs.

Hope you got a good days work in with your van being in the garage tomorrow.

Mollie, Yes, Pre-Op Tuesday, not sure how long it will take, the Pre-Op for the last Op was over 3 Hrs, not expecting that.

Yes, the Op Thursday lasts about an hour but i'm expected to be in Hospital for a few days at least, it mat depend on how it goes and how my body reacts.

I'll keep you in touch with what is happening.

glad your mum had a nice time in the pub with the carer, that was nice for her.

Emptybox, Just read your latest post, pity about that rain,

That sounds like a good start date for CBB.

No, don't really want to hear about who may or may not go in, i don't see the point really.

Hicky

Hi Hicky.

Hope you got on OK at the pre-op?

That was nice of your DS friend. I think I remember you saying about her coming to see your previous place.

Dull and dry here. About 15 degrees. Not too bad.

Took the van down at 8am and walked back. Waiting for their phone call now. Hope they get it all done today.

ETA Just found out I'm not getting the van back till tomorrow morning.

Been doing some housework; dusting, hoovering etc.

Should do some ironing now.

Evening Emptybox.

Pre-Op went OK, O/H waited with me, she fell asleep a few times, i was there for 1Âū hrs, seeing various nurses only took 10 minutes.

They take swabs, blood, urine, test everything, ask tone of questions.

My ECG is still valid from the last Op so that was OK.

19C here, mostly dull though.

Pity you didn't get your van back.

At least you got some housework done.

Hicky

both

Emptybox

thanks for the CBB date lucky we have this on this summer, as tv is bad at the moment. Didn't click on it, as don't want to see who is going in, I look forward to launch night too much for that.

What a nuisance your van is not ready.

At least you had chance to do your house jobs and ironing though.

Hicky

glad the pre op went ok. at your OH falling asleep, not a lot else to do I guess whilst you are waiting in these places.

How nice you have a friend from a forum who comes to visit to see your garden.

Let's hope you get on well after the op, so don't need to stay in too long.

OH had to go to Birmingham for a meeting again, he took the train this time, takes around 2 and half hours on the train. Good job he often gets to work from home one day a week.

Mum weepy again tonight, she has an eye infection so rang docs for ointment to collect tomorrow.

Just ate a white magnum, yummy!

been showery here today.

I am soo bored with tv right now.

Managed to find an amusing show last night called "Lookalikes". Did anyone else watch it?

Guess you will be busy tomorrow packing your bag for hospital Hicky.

Good night both xx

M

Hi Mollie and Hicky.

Glad your pre-op went well Hicky, but there seemed to a lot of waiting about.

Not surprised your OH found it tedious.

Mollie, pity your Mum now has an eye infection, along with all her other problems.

I watched that Lookalikes prog as well. They were mostly quite good, especially the 'Ricky Gervais' one.

emptybox

both

Emptybox

hope you get your van back today and it is ok, especially after all the money you have had to spend on it.

Working today?

Raining again today but has just eased off.

Good because I have to get bus to my mums, am meeting another agency, a charity one to see if they can do a bit of companionship for my mum to free up some Saturdays for me. The agency I have now will still do the main care, but they said they can't even offer me a few extra hours for a Saturday.

HOpe Hicky is all organised for his hospital trip tomorrow. Do they do the op tommorrow Hicky, or do you have to go in the day before?

time to do a bit of paperwork now as I wont be home till later tonight.

wonder if there is any good tv on tonight?

have a good day both xx

couldn't get on this site this morning but ok now.

M

Evening both.

Not a lot going on today, bosses daughter didn't arrive, darn it.

But they are so busy.

Went out to West Kirby for a chippy tea in a little eating place within a chippy, very nice.

Mollie, as you say, hope it goes well so i can get home after the Op.

Your O/H getting the train, 2Â― hrs is quite a journey.

Sorry to hear your Mum has an eye infection, thats nasty, wonder what she rubbed into it?

I didn't watch lookalikes, don't like them, they never look like them to me.

Partly packed, finish off in the morning.

They do the Op the same day you go in, within a couple of hours, they have 2 intakes, 7am 1st then 11am, i'm with the late ones.

Emptybox, Hope you get your van back OK, it's expensive keeping things on the raod these days.

But i see fuel is down.

It was cloudy all day, it said it would be sunny at 6pm, it was right.

Had a little rain this morning, nothing much.

I can't watch TV at night these days, maybe things will change after the Op.

I have to eat before 7am in the morning, but i'm usually watching TV before 6am anyway.

Hicky

Hi both.

Not too bad day here. Mostly cloudy, but some sun this afternoon.

Got the van back at 10.20am.

MoT more than expected. Just ÂĢ14 shy of ÂĢ1000. Absolutely ridiculous.

They needed to do a lot of work, according to the job sheet anyway.

Just hope it gets a more lenient one next year, or it'll almost not be worth keeping it on the road.

As you say Hicky, fuel is a bit cheaper. Filled up with diesel, and diesel is now cheaper than petrol. First time in a long long while.

Got two big jobs done, so not too far behind now.

Will need to do a lot of grass cutting to pay for that MoT though.

Best of luck with your op tomorrow Hicky. Hope you get home soon after it.

And hope your telly watching schedule becomes more normal afterwards.

Pity the boss's daughter didn't turn up.

Hi Mollie.

Hope you got your paperwork done.

And hope you have some luck with these charity carers, and they can offer some weekend companionship for your Mum, to allow you some more time for yourself.

No idea what's on the box tonight. Will just have to take pot luck, I guess.

emptybox

Good afternoon Emptybox

my goodness, you van was soo expensive!

As you say if it carries on costing you this much, it would hardly be worth keeping it on the road.

Yes I am sure you will certainly have to get a lot of work completed now just to break even. Hope the weather holds for you to get that done.

Was not a good night's tv again last night, hope for better tonight.

I had luck with the carers in that they have someone to cover Saturday afternoons, so that will help a lot. They can start weekend after next.

By now Hicky should be recovering from his op. Let's hope he is ok and does not have to stay in long.

Think I will have a try to hang my washing out, looks a bit cloudy though.

M

Hi guys.

Glad you are through the operation Hicky.

Roll on your recovery.

Hi Mollie.

That's good news about your weekend carer.

Hope you got your washing dry.

Not bad day here. Mostly sunny, but with a couple of spitty showers.

Got four places done.

My strimmer is still very temperamental to start.

Watched a bit of Celebrity Masterchef. Hadn't realised Rylan was in it, or I might have watched it sooner.

Now watching a prog about paula Radcliffe.

Good morning Hicky

that doesn't sound very pleasant.

So I hope things have calmed down a bit today.

HOpefully when you are home and rid of a catheter and rid of all that pain, it will all be worth it.

Are you eating ok now? HOpe the food is alright for you.

Have you managed to master your tablet now?

Hope you feel better soon.

M

Good morning Emptybox

That is good you managed to get 4 places done, I know you need good weather just to put back some of the van's expense now.

Hope it is better there today than it is here, been raining quite heavy all morning so far.

Let's hope they are right and tomorrow is going to be better because I have asked the carers to take mum to the Seaside festival.

OH working from home, so we are going for an evening shop in town when he has finished. It is good when he works from home as he loses around 3 hours a day travelling.

How is Rylan doing on that cooking show?

Hope there is something decent to watch on tv tonight.

Have a good day .x

M

Evening guys.

That's great news that they've already taken the catheter out Hicky (if that's what you mean by "tubes"?).

Hope your bladder does well, and you are allowed home tomorrow.

You'll have to take it very easy though. And I think you can expect some blood in the urine for a couple of days?

Does the hospital not provide food then? Or is it just not to your liking?

Dodging showers today. There were some very heavy ones, but luckily they were moving around, so was able to do what I needed to.

Hope the weather is better for you tomorrow Mollie, and your Mum enjoys the seaside festival with her carers.

Nice that your OH is working from home.

Watched some of the athletics and some of the Masterchef final.

Rylan got to the final three, and did very well, doing Heston Bluementhal style dishes (very adventurous).

But Kimberly Wyatt (ex Pussycat Dolls) won.

Good Evening Both .

From home at last. treated myself to a nice soup and chicken curry with rice delivered.

I watched the whole operation in the Theatre on a monitor 1 foot from my face.

They found a bladder stone that was 1.5cm across with stones attached all over it.

They crushed the stones, must have taken half an hour then they started the operation, a bvig job, they had to chop off dozens of pieces of prostrate to make a hole through the middle then cauterise the edges of the hole all the way through, that took another half hour.

Emptybox, the tubes were from 2 3 litre bags of flushing liquid, the pipes were  about 1cm across, they joined further down the pipe, that pipe went to a port on the catheter, another pipe the same size went to the fluid bag from the irrigation system, the catheter was about 9mm across.

It wasn't very comfortable.

I couldn't sleep the first night as i had a feeling i wanted the Loo all night.

I had to stay on my back as well because of all the pipes, i can't sleep on my back so it was a long night.

The food is mainly awful, the sandwiches are ok. the rest is cold, the toast was inedible. O/H took me food in.

I had some sleep last night as they had taken all the pipes, catheter etc out, but 1 feller was snoring very load, that didn't help.

I've got to get control of my bladder now as all the muscles are not doing much.

I have a sheet with about 10 exercises to do to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles.

But it's better than the state i was in.

It will take a while to get back to normal, if thats possible.

Mollie, Yes, Rylan did well in Masterchef, don't like him in BBBots though.

I liked Kimberly, what a girl.

O/H said text me when you want me to pick you up, i texted her at 11.50 and said i/m leaving the ward.

Got down stairs to the front and waited in the foyer, no seats, waited 10 minutes, no sign, rang her, it went to voice mail, strange. went ouside as couldn't stand any longer, sat on a seat in the cold as i only had a short sleeve jumper on, no shirt or anything. Still no sign, half an hour passed and i got a text from her saying she just looked at the phone and saw the text asd missed call. she came and picked me up.

She said she didn't know how she didn't get the messages as she had the phone in her hand.

Later she was checking the phone and checked the ring tone, she had changed it weeks before and forgot, she had been listening to a music program on the tv, when i messaged her and rang she though the sound was from the TV never thought it was the phone.

Hicky

both xx

Hicky

so pleased to hear you are back home now.

And not before time if the food was that bad!

Fancy it being so bad your OH had to take food in. Ridiculous because ill people need good nutrious food to aid their recovery. I was lucky that the food was lovely when I was in hospital. I know some hospitals don't cook it fresh on site, but the hospital I was in had their own kitchens so it was cooked fresh on the premises and we had a choice of menu.

I reckon you deserved that take away when you got back.

I hope you soon feel well again. Your body should feel a lot better for it now those stones have been given the heave ho.

You will need to take it easy for a little while now.

Bet you will be glad to be at last getting some sleep in your own bed again.

That is the trouble, hospitals are so noisy, it is hard to get any sleep.

Good luck doing all your exercises, it will be worth it in the end.

Bet your OH felt bad for not realising you were waiting for her.

Hope Emptybox had a good day weather wise so he got some jobs done.

At last we got some sunshine here today.

We went to Costco again, we love the free food samples there.

In the afternoon we wheeled mum and walked the dog around some stalls down the seafront as it was the seaside festival.

Bedtime for me.

HOpe you are comfy enough to sleep ok tonight Hicky.

M

Hi both.

Glad you are back home Hicky. But as you say, it'll take a while to get back to normal. Hope those pelvic floor exercises help.

Sounds like it was a bigger operation than first thought. With all those bladder stones.

Not sure I would have wanted to watch it?

Having all those tubes certainly sounds very uncomfortable, along with that nasty feeling. Not surprised you couldn't sleep for the first night..

I had that feeling of needing to go to the loo after my cystoscopy, for an hour or so.

Also get a similar, but milder feeling some days, due to this condition. Very annoying.

Funny you had that mix up with your OH and the phone calls. Lucky you didn't have to wait longer in the cold.

Hi Mollie. Glad you had enough sunshine to enjoy your seafront walk.

I think Costco hope you buy some stuff, rather than just going in for the free samples?

Was a very wet morning here, but some sunshine this afternoon.

I was hoping to cut my own grass but it was too wet, but I did some tidying in my garden, once the sun came out.

Watched the film Despicable Me this evening. I hadn't seen it before.

emptybox

Morning Both.

Mollie, the food would have been all right i suppose if it wasn't mainly cold.

The toast, we couldn't even cut it, heaven knows what it was.

The best food on the menu you can't have as it's for HP patients, High Protein, a breakfast of Bacon and Scrambled egg would have been nice but i wasn't allowed it as it was HP, along with all sorts, you fill out the menu lists but they just tell you whats left that you can have.

They used to make their own toast on the ward till there was a fire then it was stopped.

Got some sleep last night but kept getting up to pass water before i got an urgent need, got some sleep in between though, great without pipes or catheter, thats the main think, i felt free.

will have to do the exercises

O/H felt a bit soft not recognising her phone telling her she had a text and a phone call.

In was panicking outside the hospital getting colder all the time and carrying 3 bags, was hoping i didn't get the urge to go or that would have been not nice, i was wearing a pad but it never nice.

I'll have to wear a pad as i don't know what control i have over things.

I have been going to the loo without the bladder telling me so i can have some control.

I always look for the free food samples, they must be soft to think you are going to buy what they are advertising.

Emptybox, Yes, i suppose the operation time was almost doubled, they couldn't ignore the massive stone in the bladder.

It's strange really because when the bloke attending me while i had a catheter to test if it could be removed he was scanning for the water and kept moving around the outside of the bladder, the stone must have been getting in the way, but he didn't have a screen so he wouldn't have seen it.

i bet if they had done an ultrasound it would have shown up.

I was happy to watch the Op as i had nothing else to do, ha ha.

I was watching as they crushed pieces off the stone, also as they chopped bits off the prostrate, they were floating around in the irrigation fluid as it passed through the bladder, we are talking about a lot of fluid, it was collecting the blood as well and the irrigation carried on for many hours and overnight as well. probably 30 litres after i left the theatre.

Hicky

both x

Hicky

ridiculous offering you cold food in hospital and I should of thought HP food would of been good for you after undergoing an op. Good job you are home now so can eat what you fancy.

Yes I am sure you are so glad to be rid of pipes/catheters, hopefully after doing the exercises for awhile they will help get things working well again.

Good job they did discover the stone so you have seen with your own eyes that it has gone. 30 litres that is a lot.

Hope you can sleep ok and aren't interrupted too often with loo visits tonight. Are you still waking real early?

Emptybox

glad you got a bit of sun meaning you could get your garden tidied.

How are you feeling overall in yourself now? I know you get the odd niggles from your condtion?

I think when we get long standing health problems we tend to adjust to little problems, eg I know my limitations with my neck/throat, I cant' turn my head far, so had to gradually adjust, and I have to watch I don't get muscle discomfort due to my rib cage being moved, so I sit a bit different. But overall in the years since I was ill, I have managed to ease my problems by adjusting posture..

what another grotty day it was today!

flippen rain nearly all day, got soaked taking dog out, got wet coming home from mums, so am now wearing my 3rd pair of trousers.

Son was asked to be an extra this morning, so it got filmed today. He was there for a few hours, but it will only be a brief appearance, better than nothing though. And it will be on bbc.

Anyone watch Joanna Lumley? I think she was great on this tv series doing Siberia and Russia. A very attractive lady for her age, and what a lovely voice. they like their vodka in Russia, serve it in wine size glasses on the train too.

I'd love to go to Moscow.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Hi Mollie and Hicky.

Dry and sunny this morning, but rain by 5pm.

Got my grass cut this morning anyway.

Supermarket this afternoon.

Very bad that you didn't get good hot food in hospital Hicky. As Mollie says, that is important for recovery.

Glad you are managing to get some sleep now.

Might take a while to get full control of the bladder?

All you can do is persevere with the exercises I suppose.

Strange that they didn't know you had stones in the bladder beforehand, with all the tests you had.

Hi Mollie.

Well done on your son getting that extra role.

Can't remember if you said what it was in previously?

Yes, I can imagine that you'd have to make a few adjustments after your big health scare.

I'm mostly fine now, but as you say I have a few niggles some days.

The tablets can sometimes make me feel a bit dizzy, and I sometimes feel I need to go to the toilet more often than normal, and just occasionally I lose my appetite for a day or two (rare).

And I seem to  dream more than I used to, and still don't quite have the same quality of sleep as before. But I'm coping.

It's not really summer weather at all, is it? And set to get worse next week (for me anyway).

Watched that new Agatha Christie thing on BBC1 tonight, with David Walliams.

I don't like him, but it was quite good, despite him.

emptybox

Good Morning Both.

Had brekkie out yesterday and bought some more hosepipe so i can link the manure tank to the water supply.

Also got some more canes for the garden, and some feed for the Blueberry bush.

We also bought 12 metres of imitation grass to cover the area in front of the garage as it's just concrete now and i can't deck it.

Went out for a roast dinner for tea and it was dreadful, very disappointing.

The meat was tough and grisly, the gravy was ok.

Had a reasonable sleep, woke about every 2 hours for a wee, it didn't tell me too but i just seemed to wake, i was passing a litre during the night when i had the catheter in before i went to hospital so i assumed i would need to do the same, i was right.

It's still a bit bloody but it seems it's to be expected, still a bit uncomfortable after you wee as well, but that should go.

Still got a pad on as i don't really know what control i have yet but the signs seem good.

Just waiting for O/H she had to go to work this morning to fill in for someone that has gone on holiday, she should be in at 8.30 with some Hash Browns as i,ve ran out, oh, she might be a bit later as she's picking some meats up for the week.

We usually get Brisket, chops, pork, lamp boned shoulder, Ribeye steaks and anything on offer.

Weather doesn't look to good for the first half of the week, cloud, wind and rain, also cool.

Mollie, yes, i was up at 5.30, i suppose i don't want to miss the best part of the day, and with being old i want to appreciate early mornings.

they do like their vodka in Russia, and if you watch the video's of the car and wagon drivers they seem to be under something as they all seem to crash nearly every month, never seen such bad driving, they don't seem to look before a manoeuvre so the accident rate is out of this world, it's as if none opf them have ever driven before and they all have sun glasses on, they just go flat out and turn at will, it's frightening.

Emptybox, they didn't know i can stones in the Bladder because they didn't do an Ultrascan, it would have shown up.

It's a wonder the feller doing the bladder volume scan didn't realise something because he was all over the place looking for the wee, i think the stone was interfering with the scan.

Strange you are dreaming more, i seem to be dreaming less.

I don't like David Walliams either, thought him a disgrace on BGT.

Hicky

Hi Hicky.

Raining here, so no chance of work.

It's cold too. I've had to put my thicker (10.5 tog) duvet on my bed, because I was needing the electric blanket to keep warm when I had the summer duvet on.

You expect at this time of year to be a bit too hot in bed, and wanting to open the window. Think I had literally two nights like that in June, but nothing since.

Glad you seem to be getting some control of your waterworks, even though you've still got a bit of discomfort yet.

That's still getting up quite often during the night. Do you think that'll improve through time?

Mind you, I'm getting up 2 or 3 times during the night now, which is a bit annoying.

Yes I seem to be getting quite vivid dreams most nights. It may just be because I'm having to get up more that I remember them?

If I have a nasty dream that often means that I'm not going to feel too good the next day. Luckily most of the dreams are reasonably pleasant.

Pity your Dinner out was disappointing.

Had to look up to see what exactly Hash Browns were. Heard the name a lot, but never had them.

I see they're just potato?

My Uncle sometimes makes potato scones for Breakfast, when I'm there. Not too keen.

Didn't see the Joanna Lumley prog. Must have chosen to watch something else.

Good afternoon both

Hicky

glad you got brekkie out, but a pity the roast dinner was a let down, and just when you could of done with a good meal. Did you go somewhere you haven't been before or was it a one off bad one somewhere you normally enjoy going to?

I know it must be so frustrating being woken every couple of hours for a wee, but when you think you only had this big op a few days ago, you are doing well, even managing to get out and about. So some discomfort, bit of bleeding and use of a pad is probably all to be expected at this early stage.

HOpe you enjoyed your hash browns, I always have one of these with my cooked brekkie in the cafe on Sundays.

At least it is light at 5.30am this time of year, so you can appreciate a long day.

I have seen a few gardens with that immitation grass, very clever it is, it looks so realistic.

Yes it does sound like they should of done a scan for you, they sometimes try to cut back on these things and can end up making things more complicated, like doing the bladder scan must of been for you. If they had bothered to X ray my chest when I went into A and E, they would of picked up years ago, I did not have asthma, that it was a blockage in my throat. I went into A and E twice and tried telling them it was not my chest but my throat that was bothering me. All they did was refer me to an asthma nurse! (until it eventually killed me, that is!).

no wonder you need to put your warm quilt back on, it is cold here too and I have my winter sweater on again. Last night daughter wore her hat in bed. I knew i never believed them when they said we had globabl warming, just an excuse to try and tax us more I reckon. I read somewhere the ice in north pole had grown 40%, not got less!

I am glad it is rare for you to lose your appetite now, because I know how unwell you felt before. But annoying having to get up in the night. I suppose it is hard to know if it is the tablets or getting up making you dream more. If you have a bad dream, you can train yourself to wake from them. I don't have them too often, usually if I have eaten too close to bedtime, but sometimes I can manage to interrupt them now and force my eyes open.

Thnk you would like hash browns, you can get them frozen. Some have onion added to the potato.

Bit drier today than yesterday, but dog just got a quick walk today before drizzle started.

Not nice enough to dry my washing outside which really annoys me as it is mid summer.

Mum being dropped off by taxi soon, so must get some jobs done.

Have a good day.

wonder what we will find to watch on tv tonight?

M

Evening Both.

An uneventful day, fed the plants in-between showers, cooked a chicken, moved a hinge on a door as it was making a noise.

Also did a bit of work on the swing doors as they are catching, so complicated but love them.

Emptybox, I've had to put the heating back on, not good for July.

I have a small duvet, i am so hot in bed that i only need a thin one.

I've got a window open, problem is you hear outside in the front.

I seem to be waking at night for a wee, but i didn't have the urge, just wanted to go in my own time which makes life easier.

I passed a Litre during the night, that was the same when i had the catheter in.

I think most of it is what my body has stored during the day, my ankles hold some water of course but during the night it comes back out.

I used to dream at one time but i found if i didn't like the dream i could stop it.

I love Hash Browns, usually have a couple in the morning, with maybe sausage, bacon toast.

Mollie, the restaurant is one of the usual ones we go to, they were just finishing the afternoon rush and waiting for the tea time rush so it seemed to be a bad time.

I knew i had stones in my kidneys but they didn't seem concerned, they weren't bothered that i had a bladder stone but it took up extra theatre time of course.

They should have checked you out better than they did, they seem to know best, not, they should always listen to the patient but they don't.

Hicky

Raining again today, and freezing cold overnight.

Hi Hicky.

Sounds like you are regaining control of your waterworks.

1 litre overnight is surely a lot though?

I think the bad dreams tell me that I'm feeling below par. They're not the cause of me feeling unwell.

I usually wake up in the middle of them anyway.

Mollie. You went through an awful time, being misdiagnosed with asthma.

Modern medicine is fantastic in certain area, but it doesn't know nearly as much as the public often think that it does. And it doesn't even know nearly as much as doctors think it does.

Far too much guesswork involved in diagnosis and treatment.

I think there might be some 'climate change' going on in the world. But anyone trying to preach about 'global warming' in the UK would just get laughed down.

Watched Food Unwrapped last night, then the thing on BBC2 about the Bloomsbury set 'Life in Squares'. Not particularly good.

Not sure about tonight?

Evening Emptybox.

A rather wet miserable day here, stayed in almost all day.

Just eating and drinking, just going to bed.

Water works seems to be getting better, still stings at the end of the flow though.

Colour is getting better, not so red.

Dentist tomorrow for a check, need work on my front teeth though.

No idea what is happening with the climate but it sure isn't summer.

Hicky

both

Hicky

glad to hear the wateworks are improving and it is also not so red now. Shame the weather kept you in today, let's hope it improves soon.

Hope your dentist visit goes ok.

I also have to take son to dentist tomorrow for small filling that came out.

Sounds like you need to go at a different time to your usual resteraunt to get the food at its best. We too find if we go to Toby and it is quiet, the veg are a bit dried out, so prefer to go when it is fairly popular.

Emptybox

Did the bad weather mean you didn't manage to get any work done today?

bet you need your electric blanket again tonight.

Yes a lot of diagnosis is a matter of opinion, and they don't listen to the patient enough, let's face it we know our own bodies the best. I always had a feeling over the 10 years I never had asthma because i never got the tightness in the chest, wish I had not believed the professionals and googled more. I took 10 years of steroid inhalers for nothing! What a waste of nhs money when a simple x ray would of shown no asthma and a scan would of shown the real problem.

Like you HIcky a simple scan would of been cheaper than wasted theatre time. I bet you too Emptybox sometimes feel confused about your condition and as to how long you need to take the medication for? Always hard to know if the medication is causing other problems or not.

Yes Emptybox I agree we have climate change but I think the earth's climate has always changed over the years. Don't think humans can change climate as much as they suggest we can, the earth is such a powerful force on its own. But I know we can cause some problems through pollution, eg we had a lot of smog in big cities before smokelss zones came into force.

Awful tv yet again.

Guess they have just put rubbish on because they think this time of year we are all out and about enjoying the hot balmy summer night weather! Fat chance of that!

Think I will treat myself to a few mags when I go shopping tomorrow.
