Hi Hicky.

Very misty start, but got some jobs done this afternoon.

Ah yes, I guess it would make sense to get Aussie citizenship, if you are coming and going a lot.

Hope you enjoy the new Hudl tablet.

I'll need to get a new tablet before long, this Motorola Xoom is a bit long in the tooth now, and quite slow.

Glad you got the back off the watch OK.

sorry not been around for a few days, been busy sorting mum out, adding to which my internet has been playing up, it has driven OH round the bend trying to sort it. Even direct linking (not wireless) to modem wouldn't work. Turns out it was something to do with the mobile connection I had installed on my lappy, so son has removed it and fingers crossed it is ok now.

Emptybox

so glad you are feeling more yourself again now. Hope the scan date comes soon. My OH had a scan today, he had a bad pain a few weeks ago, doc thought it was kidney stone, the pain went fairly quickly, so hope scan result is ok for him too. Hopefully in your case the anti-biotics will solve your problem, you are so much better than you were, so it looks like the anti-biotics are doing the job. I expect the doc will advise you about this after the scan will he ?

I like your furry boots Scottish facts.

Gosh your passport came quickly.

Hicky

not sure if I would fancy the bread with oil/vinegar either, I'll stick to my nice Anchor butter.

Yes you can take Oz residence and keep British, we did that. No way would i have taken the Oz one if I couldn't keep my UK one. And you are right, it is much easier to travel in and out of Oz/New Zealand with both passports.

What a nuisance your buyer's solicitor is holding stuff up. 4 weeks seems such a long time to go away when you are buying. Is it a young family buying?

Managed to sort a carer out earlier last night so I could go to son's drama thing. It was in the lovely newish theatre in Cardiff and he sang "This is the moment" with the rest of his group and we saw the premier of a bbc short film he had a non speaking part in. He was only on for seconds, but he was gone all day for filming, he said it was filmed around 20 times and took 2 hours for just that short shot.

Watching 24 hours in Custody, disturbing, but interesting.

goodnight both x

hope you are still sleeping well now Emptybox

M

Hi Mollie.

It's a nuisance when your internet connection is playing up, hope it's fixed now.

Sorry to hear your OH needed a scan as well. Hope the results don't show anything serious.

Wow. That's quite a thing for your son to be in a BBC film, even for a few seconds.

Glad you were able to arrange a carer for your Mum.

Not sure if the antibiotics will provide a cure for me. I had a wee wobble this morning, and didn't feel so good, although I seem to be alright again this evening. Maybe just a wobble, or maybe the illness coming back?

Not expecting the scan to find much, although you never know?

I finish the course of antibiotics tomorrow, so i guess I'll see what happens after that.

Enjoyed Grantchester on ITV, then Under The Dome on 5.

Evening Both.

Had a busy day, been to Solicitor to sign docs, buyers came at 2pm to see the property again.

They still love the house.

We tried to get a date out of them which is what our solicitor asked us to do.

He could get any sense out of their solicitor at all, the the buyers had said they had been trying to contact him.

They did say they wanted to sign and they had delayed the holiday by 1 week.

So at the moment we are going for the 24th October, this would be fine for us.

My Tesco Hudl2 came today, we had a card through the door saying we had missed the post, i thought it was the Tablet, but they came later with it.

I have set it up to go on the web, got the email sorted and posted on DS, i got onto here as well, but will only use the tablet when i have to.

Good for ÂĢ120 have ordered the 32GB micro SD card as well.

It is one of these http://www.tesco.com/direct/hudl/

I have bought the leather case to keep it in and the cable to plug into the TV if needed.

Mollie, Sorry to hear you had comms problems again.

The bread and vinegar is very tasty,

Strange how they can film for hours just to get a few seconds film

Although i have probably already answered your question i will just say that the Hudl2 is a Tablet, a mini computer for when i have to move out as i will have to store all my stuff.

Emptybox, Hope you scan helps in diagnosing what is up.

When you say you had a wobble, not exactly sure what you mean, do you mean a wobble as in balance failure.

O/H has gone out with the girls from work so i made a Rendang Lamb curry, yummy.

Work tomorrow, 19 working days to go, i think, 9 weeks to hand over to the bosses daughter, who i may add is a mechanical engineer.

Had an email saying it was from the HMRC this morning, couldn't find anything wrong with it but as it was saying i was due to get ÂĢ307 rebate i checked on the web and on the HMRC site, that more or less said it would be fake.

I forwarded it to HMRC phishing dept.

Hicky

Hi Hicky.

Glad you've got a provisional date for your move. 24th is not long away at all.

Nice day here, so got quite a lot done.

By a "wee wobble" I just meant that I didn't feel very good yesterday morning ( a bit of digestive disturbance), but I've felt OK since, so keeping my fingers crossed that I keep feeling OK.

That Hudl2 looks very good specs wise, and gets good reviews as well.

Not long to go till your retirement either.

Ah so it's the boss's daughter who's going to be your replacement?

We're getting more and more of these fake phishing type emails.

It's got so you can't trust any of them without checking up.

Watched The Apprentice. Nobody really stood out yet. I noticed two Irish girls, cos I like the accent. Didn't like the girl who was the project manager though.

emptybox

Hicky

finger crossed your house completion is all ready for 24th, as that is not too far away now. Hope you enjoy using your Hudl2. That is interesting that the boss's daughter is taking over. Wonder if she is the right person for the job, or just that she happened to be the boss's daughter?

Emptybox

sorry to hear you had a wee wobble, let's hope you don't get any more, and carry on improving.

I too enjoyed watching the Apprentice.

been very busy lately looking after mum.

the mental health team from the hospital arranged for me to go on a dementia course for carers, did 1st one yesterday, it is a 4 week course. Very interesting in that I now understand better some of the things she does.

took her to docs today and she said the x ray showed a curvature to spine from arthritis, so that is why her back is achy. She has given her some codemol. Is that the same as you take Hicky? Doc said it can make them drosey, so won't give too many.  Mental health nurse came to visit me this afternoon to advise about meds etc.

Nearly time to take mum home, just off to dry some of her washing.

not much on tv when I get back,

have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening both.

Emptybox, Still hopeful for the 24th, O/H has ordered the kitchen so thats sorted.

They have given us 3D pictures of the cupboards and kitchen appliances, a parts list and all the dimensions, also a plan view with all details.

Pretty good really.

Also organised the removals to storage.

My ball bearings arrived, have screwed them onto the 600mm square deck section, also fixed the pulling brackets, got to get some rope now.

Couldn't go for brekkie this morning as i had to wait for the post, i had it redelivered, bad move.

The Hudl2 seems great, got all my forums on it, twitter, all the apps are available.

The bosses daughter has worked at our place for a few years now, she's a Mechanical Engineer and now works full time here on site, she has a computer, we are all linked to out central server so we can work on the same files etc.

My retirement doesn't seem far off now, 18 work days i think.

I get quite a few fake emails at work, just store them.

I was showing the bosses daughter how i do some of the invoicing and entering a new order, she was taking notes, there is a lot to show her though.

But of course she has all her own work to do as well.

I love watching the Apprentice, it will get better when there are less of them.

Some seem pretty hopeless.

Mollie, Yes, hoping the 24th will be ok for handover,

I think the bosses daughter will do her best to take over, might have a few problems as some of the things i have to do are hard to put into writing.

But i can't stay for ever which is what they would like.

I thought you would be very busy with your mum, i don't take codemol, i take Dihydrocodeine & Paracetamol for the pain, not sure how good it is.

Not much on TV in the week, just pick something out at the time.

Had the rest of my lamb curry this afternoon, then had some soup and buttered rolls, yummy

Am going to get the freezers and fridge picked up, got to get rid of all the food, bother, might have to dump it all.

Hicky

Evening all.

Wet here today, so no work done.

Been off the antibiotics since Tuesday, but was feeling a bit iffy today, so may have to go back on them for longer. Or may just be that the gut bacteria are recolonising and causing temporary problems? Time will tell.

Still haven't got a date for my scan.

That dementia course sounds like it'll be a help to you Mollie. Is it a once a week thing?

Pity your Mum has the problem with her back. As if she didn't have enough to deal with already.

Hi Hicky.

What a pity that you may have to throw out food. Perhaps you can donate some? Not sure where though?

Are those ball bearings to allow you to take some of the decking to your new place? Or is it the sections that your tubs sit on?

I expect it will be quite difficult to explain all the things you do at work to the bosses daughter. You'll have to show her all the forums you visit.

Enjoyed watching that new ITV series 'The Great Fire'.

emptybox

Evening Emptybox.

Been out for tea, my lads Birthday, this one is 37.

I had a few shared starters, then the main meal was a type of Lobster Spaghetti, never really found the lobster, but the cheese was nice, could only eat half as there was so much.

Have been told the money has been handed over to the holding account, our solicitor couldn't  get hold of the seller solicitor as he was on a course.

Not sure whether you should have stopped taking the anti-bio's, stopping and starting isn't good is it?

I am going to try and give away as much food as possible, it's finding people that have the freezer room.

I have fitted the ball bearing units onto the 600 sq decking board, had to oil them, 2 of the 20 were broken,

I fixed the pulling hooks onto the wood, 4 screws each, got the rope from B&Q, 5 metres of 25mm, made a loop at each end and put 6 knots in it.

Fixed it onto the the hooks, tried it by dragging a smaller tub onto it and dragged it into the gazebo just to try it.

Will have to put deck planks down to pull the pots along the slate.

I've got some time to show the bosses daughter what i do, thats not too bad.

The packing boxes are coming Tuesday, the freezers and fridge go Tuesday i think.

All the lighting in the new place will be LED, don't really want anything else.

O/H said i can have ÂĢ5k for the garden, that covers everything though.

Hicky

Hi all.

Things are moving fast Hicky, if the money has been paid and you've got packing boxes coming and freezers etc being picked up.

Presumably you're still going to be staying with one of your lads in the meantime?

When do you get the keys to your new place?

You'll make full use of that ÂĢ5k allowance in the new garden I'm sure.

Glad you enjoyed your meal out for your lad's birthday.

Sunny day here but very windy.

Unfortunately I'm back ill again. Had two very bad nights on Thursday and last night. Almost no sleep and a splitting headache all last night.

It wasn't my choice to come off ABs Hicky; the course finished and I needed to make an appointment with the doc to get another prescription. I'd hoped I wouldn't need it, but obviously I do.

Not feeling too bad today. Headache is away for now thank goodness.

I saw the doc yesterday and he gave me another month's course of the ABs, plus he's referring me to a urologist, as it's obviously going to be a long haul.

Got the date for the scan, but it's not till the 12th of November. I'll probably not see the urologist till after that.

I was supposed to be going down for a visit with my Uncle and Aunt in Norfolk in a week or so, but that's very much in doubt now, unless I'm feeling much better by then. Wouldn't want to take ill down there and not feel up to driving back.

Watched some of the Stand Up to Cancer stuff on CH4 last night, but didn't think much of it.

emptybox

Hicky

gosh, can't believe how quickly things have happened for your house purchase now. You are going to be busy, and what a lot of life changes all at once, with you giving up work too. A good time to finish work though with a new home to settle into and ÂĢ5k to decide how to spend in your garden.

Good luck explaining your work to the boss's daughter.

That was nice for you to go out for your lad's birthday.

Emptybox

very sorry to hear you turned ill again as soon as you stopped the meds. Hopefully once they get into your system again, you will feel better. Good job the doc has referred you to a specialist to check you out. Shame you are still waiting for the scan. When I took mum for her X ray, the receptionist was talking to a patient and I heard her say "yes if you pay private, you can have an appointment tomorrow!". Doesn't seem fair, does it? Wonder how much private would be for you? But hopefully you should hear soon from NHS as you have been waiting for awhile.

Yes I guess it would be wise to postpone your visit to your relatives until you are over this, otherwise you might be worrying over being ill whilst there.

We too went out for tea last night, but can't see us being able to take mum much longer, she got restless and fidgety, and wanted to wonder off, then was in tears with panic. This was when I was halfway through my meal, so ended up with stomach ache from stress. Am seeing mental health nurse again on Thursday as mum's had got worse and she will probably increase meds. I know I have to expect this, it is a progressive illness.

The care agency rang me this morning whilst I was shopping and told me the carer was worried about mum as she was sweaty and clammy, and thought she needed a doctor. This is not the 1st time this happened, luckily the mental health nurse told me it was part of the condition of dementia, so I had to tell them it was normal for her. Apparently she has lost control of the part of the brain that controls temperature.

X factor tonight, good, I am looking forward to unwinding tonight with some chocs.

Hope you sleep better tonight Emptybox.

X factor

M

Hi Mollie.

Sorry to hear your Mum has got worse and needs more medication, but I suppose that's to be expected.

Never thought about dementia affecting temperature regulation?

Haven't thought about going private? I suppose it would speed up waiting for scans, and seeing a specialist etc, but doubt the advice would be different in the long run.

I really hope I get some sleep tonight as well, as that is one of the worst aspects.

Feeling not too bad as I sit here now, and just about to go for a bath, then have my spag bol, but dreading bedtime.

Looking forward to Dr Who and X-Factor.

emptybox

Evening Both.

The packing cases came today, made a few up.

Went to the recycle place, all the pans are no good for Induction Hobs.

Filled the car up with as much stuff as possible, took all the stuff out of the freezers that are no good, went through the cutlery drawers and sorted them.

My lad and his Mrs coming tomorrow to help pack stuff.

I'll make sticky labels at work so we know where we filled the boxes.

Emptybox, O/H was saying now that she is going to try and stay in the local Travel Lodge, she didn't think it would work with the children.

The Sellers Solicitor was on a course Friday so he couldn't be contacted, we were told that the sellers had signed before they went on holiday, we hope to hear early next week.

Sorry to hear you didn't sleep, the headaches are even more worrying though.

I see, didn't realise you had finished the course of the tablets.

Thats a long wait to get the scan, cutbacks i suppose.

Yes, you can't really chance getting ill while at your relations place.

Mollie, Yes, things moving fast now, the way O/H wanted it, she wants to get out as soon as possible.

Going to miss the place.

Been making cards out to tell the new owners how everything works.

One card for each plant, one for each set of lights outside, one for the gazebo etc.

It's not good news about your mum, but her condition worsening is expected, very hard to deal with though.

Hope the medication can control things for her.

Hicky

Evening Both.

Busy day, brekkie out, been packing all day, my lad and his family came round to help.

Gave my neighbour over 4kg of raspberries and a few kilo of flank steak.

Still got quite a lot of ice cream and choc bars left, not much i can do as i have to put the freezer out Monday night.

After working all day we all went to the 12th Man for Tea, we all had a Roast dinner, the menu had 8 pages, fantastic, and for 4 Adults, 2 Children and drinks it only came to about ÂĢ48 which was very reasonable.

We don't have anywhere to stay yet but we'll see what happens this week.

I've ordered the keyboard to go with my Hudl2 as it will be a lot easier.

Got work tomorrow but will see if i can be off for the rest of the week as it will be very hectic.

Hicky

Hi Hicky.

Things are really moving along for you now, with packing started.

Glad you are getting some help with it.

Are you putting your own things into storage until you move into the new place?

Living in a Travelodge sounds like it would be good for a short while, but get tiresome after a while?

As long as you get wifi, so you can keep in touch.

Much better night last night. No headache, no sweats, and a reasonable amount of sleep.

Don't feel too bad today either, although not 100%

Quite a mild sunny day here, although windy and rainy overnight.

It does seem a long time to wait for a scan, but that's a good sign, as if there was any suspicion of cancer then they guarantee a scan within a fortnight, so I'm quite pleased to wait.

Homeland, Downton and 'Our Girl' all on at 9 tonight, so I record two and watch the third.

emptybox

both x

Hicky

hope you can get the rest of the week off, as you say you are incredible busy right now. I think your tea out was well deserved today. Are you planning to not move into your new house until the work is done, so that is why you need somewhere to stay? Maybe you could get a nice holiday chalet to stay in now the season is over? Or did you say you were staying with relatives?

Emptybox

so pleased to hear you had a better night last night, fingers crossed for tonight too. Maybe your sphag bol did you good ?   Hopefully it is just a matter of time to knock this thing on the head. (and the anti-biotics doing their work). Yes good point about the reason you are pleased to wait for your scan.

Mum's sisters came to see her today, bless them. One is in her 80's and the other 77, so it was a long day for them. My cousin drove them here, a 5 hour round trip for them, and then he had another 2 hour round trip to get home from their houses, and work in London tomorrow. Mum was in floods of tears when she saw them, but it did her good as she could remember some of the stuff from years ago they spoke about. Think they were upset to see how bad mum is now. We went out for lunch. Mum only managed a pudding as usual. By bedtime, when the carer asked how she enjoyed her sisters coming, she had forgotten they had been. She thought they came a few days ago.
Mum definitely a lot worse over the last few weeks, very confused and often cries. At times I feel emotionally drained with it all, but know I am doing as best I can under difficult circumstances, and my own family at home are a good support, especially OH who does endless driving and odd jobs for mum in her flat.

Goodnight both xx

Hicky

hope the house move preparations are going well, and that you managed to get the rest of the week off work.

Emptybox

how were you today? hope you feel a bit better and slept/eat ok.

Mum was at day centre today, so I caught up with the mountains of washing/food shopping and paperwork. Then this evening booked carers a bit earlier so I could go and see son's college concert. Very enjoyable, the class did well considering they have only had a half term together. Son said his fingers are sore now from all the guitar playing and his back aching from standing so long. They were at college 12 hours in all today.

Watched 24 hours in Custody tonight, quite interesting. Bet hicky didn't have much time to view tv tonight.

goodnight both xx

M

Hi Mollie.

Not feeling too bad today. managed a bit of work this afternoon, although I felt tired afterwards.

Got a reasonable amount of sleep last night, and had a reasonable appetite today.

It must be very difficult for you, seeing your Mum like this.

That was good of your Cousin, bringing your Mum's sisters to see her. And it sounds like it did your Mum good at the time, even if she couldn't really remember it after.

Good that you had some time today to catch up with stuff, and were able to watch your son's concert tonight.

Yes I bet Hicky will be very busy for a while.

Watched Grantchester on ITV, then Under the Dome on 5.

emptybox

Evening Both.

I will probably have to go to work this week for a short time as the one boss is off next week and we have to do the vat return and pay what we owe.

So that has to be sorted, he said he would get it all ready.

Not too much to pack now, the fridge and freezers are outside ready to be collected in the morning.

We are going to the Travel Lodge in new Brighton to start.

You pay for the Wifi, ÂĢ12 a week.

Glad you were better last night Emptybox.

Your mum forgetting she had visitors, that was the same as my mum, so sad.

Just been watching odd programs, nothing special.

Got to change the address on everything, wow, gigantic task.

We have no bread, i said to O/H i could have cheeses on toast, she said no bread, so i said i'll just have some cheese, O/H said, i threw it out.

They are picking the storage boxes etc up Wednesday morning.

Hicky

all

Hicky

hope you get the vat sorted ok and don't have to work for too long this week whilst you are so busy with the move. The hotel sounds a bargain. How long do you think you will be in hotel? Good job you have the wifi there, not too expensive for a week either.

hope you managed to find some food around the house or went for an eat out today. You could always go to the chippie.

Hope the storage box pick up goes ok tomorrow.

Emptybox

so pleased to hear you have been feeling a bit better, a good nights sleep and some food makes all the difference, but it is not surprising after losing so much weight and being off for so long that your return to work made you feel so tired.

Telecare engineer coming next week to change times to start an hour earlier at night when the hour changes, so we can get home an hour earlier, and because I think mum is tired enough at night to settle in bed that hour earlier, hope so.

Not much on tv tonight.

off to bed to read my mags that daughter bought me from supermarket. Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Both.

Just closing system down for the move.

All the house is more or less packed, think my office TV & Monitor will have to go to my lads as you can't get it in these small boxes.

everything should be picked up whats going to store, some stuff going to my l;ads, some going to the bungalow if we can get the key, the sellers are in the US and haven't signed all the paperwork.

I'll try and get on soon, the new keyboard hasn't arrived yet and i paid special delivery price.

I'll have to ring the boss about the vat unless he gets someone else to do it, it would only take half an hour, i could go over, i'll ring him tomorrow.

I'm dumping the fridge and freezers, not really good enough to hand over, the fitted one i will leave.

We bought a loaf and had soup for tea.

Catch you sometime this week, these storms are dreadful, the Sold board outside the house has been smashed to bits, the 5cm square wood was snapped in half.

Going along the sea front at New Brighton the spray was coming over the sea wall, the coast road was closed but the parallel road was open, out Travel Lodge is along the front as well.

Nighty Night.

Hicky

Evening both.

Sunny day here, but very blustery. Still it sounds like I got off lightly compared to you Hicky.

Hope the sold sign was the only casualty?

Got a bit more work done today, but still taking it easy. Feel more or less OK though. Just a few indications that I'm not 100%, but otherwise getting on with life as normal.......until the next bout.

Well good luck with the move Hicky. hope we hear from you soon. You should be fine with your tablet and the travelodge wifi.

Glad your lad is able to take some of your stuff, to save on storage costs.

Pity there's a delay in you getting access to the bungalow.

Hi Mollie.

What is this "telecare engineer" doing? Is it something to do with your Mum's monitoring system?

Hope it works, and you can get home an hour early.

Enjoy your mags.

Watched that 'You Can't Get the Staff' thing on CH4, and recorded Human Universe on BBC2.

Furniture gone went travel lodge.

Had some food in Hungry Horse. Came back to house to watch TV.

My keyboard hasn't come yet so using Hudl2 as touch screen.

Going to the office tomorrow afternoon to do the vat and some other stuff.

Sitting on garden seats at the mo.

Getting a van thingy tomorrow for 3 days, my lad driving it.

Only got T.L for 1 week ÂĢ440, will have to look elsewhere then.

aaawww how strange it must be for you both with your furniture gone. But exciting too now you can plan your new home. Hope work gets sorted out nice and quickly, so you are free to get on with your move. Good job you have your hudl to post on.   Handy that you have your lad to drive the van. Hope it all goes well. I reckon you needed your food at Hungry horse.

Emptybox

Glad to hear you managed to do a bit of work again. Let's hope this time there is no next bout. The Telecare engineer is changing the times of the door sensors so Telecare can take over at 7.30pm instead of 9pm. You see we can't leave mum alone at night until telecare takes over and she is getting more and more tired now, so I reckon she will be glad to be in bed at 7,30pm, and we will be glad to be home by 8pm. The carers always get her up at 8am because she has to leave by 9am for her day centre.

Enjoyed watching the Apprentice, now watching "can't pay".

Goodnight both xx

Evening all.

Raining here most of the day so didn't get out to work. I did get my monthly accounts done though.

Yes, it must feel strange with no furniture in the house Hicky. Does the Travelodge not have TV?

Your OH will be itching to get into the new place now, to get on with all the renovations.

Hi Mollie. I think I understand now what the Telecare thing is...sort of.

Hope you can get your Mum settled at 7.30pm, after the time change.

Enjoyed Apprentice. I guess we're starting to see the characters emerge now? Although I haven't a clue about any of their names yet really.

emptybox

Good evening both

Emptybox

probably a good day to rain yesterday, so it gave you a rest from work.Hope you are still feeling well today.

Yes I too don't know any names of the Apprentice, still too many for me to know who is who.

Hicky

Hope you got all the work out of the way nice and quick and hope the first day moving with the van went well. How strange it must be for you both. Hope you will be comfy in the Travelodge.

Have to meet with day centre manager, social worker and mental health nurse tomorrow, not looking forward to it. Mum has been taking off her safety belt on the bus, so I have to give permission for them to give her a special belt that she can't take off. As it is restraining someone it has legal implications. And they also want to discuss her meds. What hard work it is being responsible for looking after someone with dementia.

Watching celebrity Juice now

hope Emptybox sleeps well tonight and hope Hicky is comfy enough in his Travelodge bed.

bet you are done in after the stress of moving, and can't wait for the bungalow to be ready for you now. HOpe you are comfy in your travelodge. (and manage to find some decent food!).

hope you slept ok, and hope you were ok eating. Did you manage to get any gardens done today?

My meeting with the social worker, and other staff went ok, they are ordering a special chair for mum to get into bath, and monitoring her meds.

Evening.

Feeling fine tonight, and got some more work done this afternoon.

Quite a reasonable day weatherwise.

Not sleeping too badly now. Still wake up a few times, but not too bad.

Fingers crossed it continues.

Hi Hicky.

I bet you're glad your part of the move is finished?

Now you can relax in the Travelodge until you get into the bungalow, when the next level of chaos ensues.

Hi Mollie. I feel for you, with all the stress you're having to go through with your Mum.

I did it the other way round to you. I watched Alex Polizzi first, now watching Gogglebox on +1

I watched that David Attenborough prog yesterday, with the goslings throwing themselves off the cliff.

I so hope this improvement continues for you now. I know how it gets you down when an illness carries on for such a long time. Glad you managed to get some work done too. Sphag bol is it tonight? Are you ready yet to enjoy one of your beers? I know some of the stouts are supposed to be good for you when your tum is up to it.

Yes indeed for the poor baby goslings. I hadn't seen the show, and foreward wound the first bit so I only had to watch the gosling who made it.

Hope Hicky is ok in the Travelodge and that his lad is getting on well with the van move.

Been to Costco again today to stock up on a few things. Carer said mum was a bit better today, must be the painkillers they have been told to give her. She has got to the stage where she can't properly communicate where the pain is, or sometimes if she is in pain at all. So it is a bit of a guessing game as to what is bothering her. But now I know the x ray has shown this back problem, that it is most likely that.

Watching a bit of the Dancing, then take mum home, then watch X factor.

Have a good evening both xx

Hi Mollie.

Glad your Mum was a bit better today, but sad that she's got to the stage where she can't communicate what's hurting.

Not too bad a day here; not too cold and with quite a bit of sun.

Took the opportunity to tidy up my own garden, hedge cutting, strimming and gave the grass it's last cut.

I've reached the stage where I'm feeling more or less normal, but I've been here before only to go back down with a thump, so I'm not counting any chickens.

I'm certainly ready to enjoy one of my beers, but I'm not going to.

I read that alcohol, caffeine, gluten, dairy and spicy foods can irritate the prostate, so I'm experimenting with avoiding them to see if it makes a difference.

I bought a gluten free loaf last week, although I've gone back to ordinary bread now, until I can buy another one (the gluten free was twice as expensive ).

I've gone on to herbal teas (camomile, peppermint & nettle) instead of ordinary tea, and I'm drinking a coffee substitute based on chicory (seemingly even decaff coffee is bad ).

Plus I'm not having cereal with milk in the mornings.

Haven't managed to give up chocolate though, which is also supposed to be bad.

TBH all these are very boring, and I'm not sure they make any difference, so if I keep on feeling OK I'll probably try reintroducing beer and coffee etc.

But for now I'm being good...ish (I did have a curry last night. )

X Factor good. My favourites are Lola Saunders and Lauren Platt (but you guessed that? ).

And that over 25 girl with the curly hair, that looks a bit like a bloke, is good too.

None of them were perfect this week though.

don't blame you going on a special diet to try and shift your problem, but I can understand how boring it must be for you.

That is a good sign that you had the energy to do your own garden.

Yes no surprise who you like on X factor.  I don't have a real favourite yet, just enjoy watching the show in general.

Haven't had a relaxing evening tonight though....just trying to watch X factor, and phone rings, and it was the police!!   He said it was a false call out from my mum, and she was ok, but he thought it best to ring me. He put her on phone and she started crying, but said she would go to bed again. Not sure what happened but going on timing, she must of got up and gone to door when carer left to see what was going on and pressed the red button on door by accident, then set off emergency intruder alarm. I rang her back twice again, and she said she was sitting on the bed and would lie down. OH said he would take me over, but am hoping she will be ok now as telecare will go off if she tries to leave the flat. It is such a long way to drive now, so hope we can move from this place soon, else my nerves will be even worse than they are now.

Hope Hicky's move is going ok.

goodnight both xxx

Hi Mollie

Hope you managed to relax for the rest of the night without any other call outs?

Not sure why your Mum has a button to call the police? Would it not be better if she could call a warden or something? Or even, just call you?

Or is that just the way the Telecare system works?

Very difficult situation for you, in any case.

Windy and rainy here today. Not very nice at all.

Morning Emptybox.

Got on the web at work

The place is still full of furniture, we can't put it outside as they might not take it if it's wet.

Will need a few more skips yet, the place is full of planting bowls etc, dozens of them.

When their is room to move i want to get people in to clear the growth and trees, will need a JCB digger and driver though.

Will have to see what the cost is.

Hope Mollie isn't too stressed, we never really slept last night either.

Came to work at 10am this morning, still hit a lot of traffic though.

Hicky

Evening Hicky.

It's been a wet but mildish day here.

Didn't get any work done, but filed my tax return online.

I presume you must now have access to your new place, and that's what you are talking about clearing?

So the owners left all their furniture after all? That's annoying.

I expect you probably will need a JCB to clear the garden, ready for your plans for it.

Pretty daunting, but fun as well, I expect.

I'll probably watch Grantchester later, followed by Under The Dome.

Think I'm supposed to get heavy rain tomorrow midday.

Evening Both.

Still loading skips, get the 3rd tomorrow.

My keyboard arrived, brill, full miniture one for the Hudl2.

Got the money now, have mine for the garden,5k anyway.

Been smashing and cutting stuff up all day for the skip.

Move to P-Inn tomorrow for 2 weeks.

They came to take all the furniture, looked around and went, they said its only fit for  SKIP.

Left us holding the baby again.

All is going well though, been working around the furniture for now.

Electrician cutting out for sockets, we have sorted where the lighting goes,in and outside the house, all LED of course.

Hope Mollie isnt too stressed out.

Hicky
