Good afternoon both

Emptybox

hope the docs visit went ok and that you have continued to improve.

Good job the grass wasn't as bad as you feared.

Yes probably best to stick to plenty of water, rather than alcohol or caffeine whilst you are on antibiotics.

Hicky

hope they fixed the car ok for you today.

Your garden sounds lovely and fruity now.

I agree Mars bars are lovely, I also like them as Mars ice cream bars.

Your plans for the garden sound lovely.

Hope the valuation goes well for your buyer today.

Lovely day here today, at last.

Hope it was for you both too.

Ribs a lot better today, thank goodness, but I did rest for awhile in the sun in the garden today.

Wonder who will be the next one to leave CBB?

don't mind if it is Rikki or Kellie, find them both boring.

have a good day both x

M

Hi both.

Feeling much more like myself today.

Saw the doc this afternoon, and seemingly the blood tests are all fine. Kidney, liver, prostate functioning as they should. So they are happy for me to finish the course of anti-biotics and then come off them on Friday. ;

I still have one symptom, a stinging sensation when passing urine, and I told her I was worried I might get reinfected when I come off the meds, but she assured me that was unlikely, and the feeling should go away in time. I'll take her word on that, but I'd still rather all my symptoms had gone.

Still, it's great to feel well again. You don't know how enjoyable that feeling is, until you feel off.

Hi Mollie. Great to hear your ribs are feeling better, and you enjoyed some relaxing time outdoors. It was a lovely day here as well, so I got a job done before the docs, and another afterwards. Still feeling a bit weaker than norm though.

Hi Hicky. Hope your car get fixed OK, and you enjoyed your day off?

Can't wait for Friday now, when I can get back on the coffee and the beer.

emptybox

Evening Both.

A beautiful day today.

Mollie, Car not ready, no part till tomorrow, rand them at work and give them 3 option's.

1, i borrow a car to get to work.

2. They pick me up and drop me off at work.

3. I stay off Wednesday and come in Thursday.

Boss said, you do whichever you want.

so i'm staying off.

Lady came round this morning from the buyers bank/mortgage whatever, we had had brekkie in the Gazebo, bacon & egg sarnies, yummy.

It does them very well.

I need to measure up in the Bungalow garden so i can draw up my plan to scale and see what goes where.

I have to have a drawing as i've never worked without one in my life.

Found the correct picture for the Fridge/freezer, it's called a 3 Door, as it has a door below as well as the 2 above like this.

http://www.samsung.com/uk/cons...-door/RFG23UERS1/XEU

I'm with you on CBB, who goes, who cares.

Emptybox,

Glad the tests were good, hope Bio's carry on working.

Strange the stinging sensation, drink more non acid drink like milk and don't drink any orange etc.

Said to Mollie about the car, will have to wait for the part, but, as long as it's fixed i'm happy.

I see we can get rid of the dreaded Tax disk inabout 30 days, great.

Hicky

both

Emptybox

so pleased you are feeling like your old young self again, and that the blood tests were fine.   Yes I can understand you feeling frustrated all your symptoms have not gone, but at least the doc thinks it won't be a problem. Don't forget to drink lots and lots of water, especially as it has been so warm. Your first taste of coffee/beer co-incides with eviction night, so that should be nice.

Hicky

shame the car is still not ready, but at least it gives you an excuse to take a day off work tomorrow.

Glad you are still enjoying your gazebo.

I am sure the owners won't mind you visiting the garden to measure up now they have accepted your offer.

Funny enough OH and I were admiring these types of fridge/freezers last week in Costco. Did you know they sell them in there?

Talking of Costco I think their cakes look lovely, they are huge, so I have ordered a Costco roses cake for mum who is 85 next Monday. Here they are

http://members.costco.co.uk/cake/index.php

I ordered the Roses one,...with 3 pink and 2 blue roses and a pink border and blue writing. Choc and vanilla flavour. I have asked the carer to give it to the bus driver on the morning of her birthday when he takes mum to her day centre. She has plenty of people to share the cake with there.

Have you ever had a cake from there Hicky?

CBB time now.

Have a good evening both xx

M

Evening Mollie.

It was Costco that we saw the Fridge/Freezer, we had a good look at one, they are fantastic and would love one for the new place.

We will have to get another big Fan Oven as well, plus a new big gas Hob as we won't be taking anything from this kitchen unless the new owners don't want it.

Thats a smashing cake, and a great price, they are very big as well.

A fantastic bargain.

I haven't had one of those cakes, O/H is rather funny on cakes, she doesn't usually like what is either in them, on them or something.

Hicky

Evening All.

Got my car back, they put a tube and hose in, not sure which, will have to look.

Looking in B&Q for idea's on the kitchen and bathroom furniture.

We have settled on an Induction Hob, but the one i like is about ÂĢ1k.

Got loads of books from B&Q to start with, we will get B&Q to plan and handle it.

Going to work in the morning, have put the camera and Tag back in the car.

Hope you are both feeling ok.

Hope Kelly goes tonight.

Hicky

Evening.

Not bad day here, cloudy but warm.

Got a bit more work done, but still taking it a bit easy.

Glad you got your car back Hicky.

Blimey, you don't hang about?  Sounds like you've already got your new place all planned out.

Hi Mollie. I'm sure your Mum will love sharing that cake with her day care buddies.

Pity Frenchy is out, although I'm sure she'd be a nightmare in real life.

Also a pity Claire isn't returning.

Not sure who is voting for Kellie to stay, but someone must be, I suppose.

Mind you, we could have lost Ricci or Lauren without it making any difference to the house.

emptybox

Good evening both

Emptybox

glad you got some work done, but yes very wise to take it easy as you have been so unwell. Are you eating ok now?

Hicky

hope your car is ok now. It is handy that you can get so many catelogues from B and Q,  plus the 10% off you get I am sure comes in handy.

I agree with you both, can't understand who would want to vote for someone as negative as Kellie, and Rikki is such a bore, so a pity to lose an interesting HM like Frenchie.

Yesterday me and OH went to Cardiff Bay to see some of the ships visiting for the NATO meeting.  There was a huge British one, HMS Duncan, a newest ship, worth a billion ÂĢ the policeman told me!    And we saw a huge French ship come into dock. Very high security ....there were snipers on the roof of the highest blocks of flats, an armed division of the police in a dingy going round the bay. Think they been  have over cautious though, they were expecting  thousands of protestors and trouble, but the police told me all they had had the 2 days they had been in Cardiff Bay were locals like us coming for a nose and a chat.   Don't think there are any police left in the rest of the country because they are all here in Wales at the moment.   And we have had 15 ft high steel fences around part of Cardiff and Newport for a few weeks now.

Who do you want to leave CBB now?

I am hoping yet again Kellie goes.

BB Australia starts soon, I am thinking of trying to fit in watching it, so I don't miss ours too much when it finishes.

Hope you both have had the nice weather we have had here today.

Goodnight both xx

M

Here is a pic OH took at the bay yesterday. HMS Duncan on the right hand side, and on the left is a French ship we saw come into dock. It is being guided by the tug boat in the picture. It took ages to negotiate through the narrow entrance of the dock, there were about 50 crew all standing in a row on the decks when it came in.

M

Hi Mollie.

Glad you had a nice day looking at the ships.

Didn't realise the NATO meeting was in Wales.

Sounds like they went overboard on the security?

(there's a joke in there somewhere )

Did a full days work today, including cutting a few hedges.

I'm certainly feeling it tonight, after my inactivity. My back is aching.

I've just taken my last tablet tonight, so looking forward to having milk on my cereal tomorrow morning.

Apart from that, I'm back to eating normally now.

Hope Kellie goes in the double eviction, but fear it'll be Edele and Stephanie.

emptybox

Good Morning Both.

It looks like a lovely day here again, and a sunny weekend expected as well.

The car seems fine, filling in forms at the mo, detailing everything in the property, what is staying what is going etc.

We don't need much, taking more than we were going to with there being more space than we expected to get.

Emptybox, It's surprising how much you miss the car, even if it's only a day or two.

Glad you managed to get some work done.

I was surprised Frenchy went, wasn't pleased at all.

It is looking like Kelly & Steph at the mo, I like Steph though, would rather James went, he's awful.

Mollie, It's not going to be an easy job picking all the items needed for the kitchen but we are writing down the main items and preferences.

I can understand all the high security as those coming need all the protection they can get, also, you have to show a show of force.

Nice Picture of the ships, it's a wonder you could get that close.

Hicky

Hi Guys.

Nice warm day here. Not much sun though, and a bit of rain this evening.

Got more strimming and mowing done.

Thought I was going to have a problem with my new mower, as the drive was juddery yesterday, and the belt seemed to be slipping.

Hopefully it was just some grass stuck inside fowling the belt, as it was behaving itself today.

There doesn't seem to be an easy way to clean it out though; although there is a nozzle to attach a hosepipe to wash it out. I might try that.

It's stiill under guarantee if it turns out to be a problem, but I'm hoping it's going to be OK.

Glad your car seems to be fixed Hicky.

The move will be a lot of work for you, but you'll be in your element with those forms.

Going across to see my Brother for the day tomorrow, so I'll have somebody to cook for me.

It's great to be back on a normal diet after finishing my course of tablets.

I had cereal with milk this morning, along with a coffee. And I had a beer with my supper tonight.

Pity Stephanie went tonight, but at least Kellie went instead of Edele.

emptybox

Good evening both

Emptybox

hope you have had a good day at your brothers. I am so pleased you are back on your normal diet again, you will have to sneak in some extra treats now you have lost some weight.

Yes pity stephanie went, but glad Kellie went.

I am guessing you like Edele then? I too think she is nice.

I would like to see Rikkie out next, so boring.

Hicky

glad the car seems ok now.

How nice that you don't have to get rid of too much stuff now you have found quite a big house to go to.

Still a lot of police around, but they are now removing all the steel fencing around the towns. They will take all day today and wont' finish till tomorrow as it is such a big job.

Went to costco today. Me and daughter made good use of all the free food sampling there again. Collected mum's cake, I am well pleased, it is lovely for the money, and the personalised icing so nice. It is a huge cake so plenty to fee all at her day centre on Monday. Stocked up on lots of other stuff too. So much cheaper buying in bulk from there.

This afternoon it was so hot we had ice creams on the seafront with mum.

Looking forward to X factor and CBB, just have to take mum home to bed first, the carer takes over for an hour 8-9, such a help.

hope you both had the wonderful weather we had here today.

M

Evening Everyone.

Not a bad Saturday, had a brunch in the gazebo at lunch time.

Went to the new place to measure up the garden and the kitchen area.

Am going to make a scale drawing to be able to place items in the kitchen.

The garden is about 52' by 33'6" (15Mx10.2M)

Will have to get someone in to clear the scrubs and bushes/trees, there is 1 quite big tree in the r/h corner which needs to go and lots of stuff growing, no idea what it is.

Enjoy your time at your Brothers, nice to have him cooking for you.

Hope your new mower is OK, wouldn't have though a hose would cure it, always worth a try though.

Hope Mollie is coping ok, so tiring for her.

Hicky

Hi guys.

Had a nice time at my brother's yesterday. He made a nice home made curry for supper. Had a nice lunch as well.

Weather was nice as well, which makes a difference.

Not bad today as well. Just got back from the supermarket.

Yes Mollie, I like Edele on CBB. She seems nice and genuine.

Glad you are pleased with the cake you got for your Mum.

Hi Hicky.

You're going to have great fun redesigning the new place, I can tell.

Had another look at the hose fitting on my mower, and it doesn't clean the belt mechanism. The water just cleans the inside of the deck, which doesn't help me.

I think I can just get my fingers in to get the gunk out that seems to be fowling the belt, so hopefully it'll be OK. There's a plastic cover, but I can't work out how to get it off. No visible screws. I don't have a proper manual either, and can't find any info online.

However I can always take it back and get it fixed under warranty, if need be.

Emptybox

so pleased you are back to yourself now, and you got well fed at your brothers.  Just what you needed after losing so much weight.  Has the tiredness gone yet? I know that can take awhile to clear if you have been ill enough to go off food.

Such a pain about your mower, hope it will be ok now you have tried to fix it? Or if not, maybe you could swop it for a new one if it is under warrantee? Or do they just fix it? But of course it is always a nuisance taking things back and then waiting for them to be fixed.

Hicky

what a nice big garden your new house has, it is such fun for you planning what to do with it all now.

Will you leave your current gazebo as it is when you leave? At least you are experienced in building them now, so won't have much trouble doing another one.

Had a hectic day, but nice .

Beautiful weather, son was performing with his college band in the Rock festival on the coast where we used to live, so went to that. He did well, the band have only been together 4 days since he started his new full time college course. Then I took the boys for lunch on the seafront, they had paninis and I had an ice cream, and we had a walk around the fair with hot do-nuts to eat.   Then I collected mum from her flat, the carer had her till mid afternoon, and bought her home to sit in the garden.   OH took daughter to archery whilst we were there, they were outdoors, which was nice for her. My home is like a train station at times with so many comings and goings at different times.

Daughter starts a new Uni course in a weeks time, hope she likes it. I am glad she can come home though, so won't have debts for this course, as it is held at the local college. (the same college son goes to).

CBB task tonight ......Bit harsh those callers were ... I couldn't of done that.

hope you both had good weather today.

I have collected some conkers to bring into the house to keep the spiders at bay. OH says it is an old wives tale and is useless though.   I told him I heard someone mention it yet again on the radio today. We collected lots of blackberries when we took the dog a walk, they are so big and sweet this year. We get them from the lane nearby where no cars pass.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Both.

Was busy at work, one boss going on Holiday Monday for a week.

Had an Electrician round to test the house to get a certificate, got one anyway.

Even all my outside Gazebo and summer house wiring passed, and all the outside lighting.

Have sketched a layout of the proposed kitchen showing some devices, only rough of course, using TinyCad and converted to PDF, not sure if it will come out on here, I'll see.

Emptybox, Glad you had a good time at your Brothers.

It's strange them not having an easy way to get at the mower belt for cleaning, pity these clowns that design this gear don't have to maintain it.

Pity you can't get hold of the proper manual, thats if there is one.

Mollie, Yes, it's going to be fun rearranging the new place.

I'll leave the gazebo, complete with lighting, BBQ etc, will take the gas bottle though.

Nice to see your son with the band on the coast, fab.

Like you, i also hope your daughter likes the new course.

Thats great being so handy to home.

I agree, the callers were hash, that was the intention, but they needed telling the truth.

Conkers to keep the spiders at bay, don't think so.

It's nice to be able to pick blackberries, as long as you are not in any danger.

wow at your kitchen plan, that is really brilliant, you are so clever. Bet you can't wait to get started. Are you doing a similiar plan for the garden? Is so i'd love to see it.

That is nice to know that your electrics are so good, that they got through all the checks.

Emptybox

hope your mower is holding up.

are you all fit and well now, and catching up with your eating? Hope so.

Have you caught up a little work wise now?

Me and mum had a nice ice cream on the seafront as it was so warm today. Hope you both got the good weather too.
I am rather fed up of of the meaness and constant arguments on both our BB's this year, so I have decided to give watching BbOz from youtube a go to see if I enjoy that one anymore. It started yesterday. And guess what, day 1 and unlike the lovely weather we have in the UK, it is chucking it down with rain there!
But I will of cause stick with our CBB too.

Anyone care to join me? Here is episode 1.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?...pBRA&app=desktop

Nearly time for our CBB, have a good evening both xx

M

Evening guys.

It's been quite nice here. Quite warm during the day, but getting chilly in the evenings.

Hi Mollie. I'm back to normal now with my eating, and my fitness level is nearly back to what it was.

Haven't used my mower for a couple of days, as I was strimming, hedge cutting and using a customer's mower. I'll try mine out tomorrow.

Glad your son did well with his new band, and I hope daughter's new uni course suits her.

I'll have a look at that Youtube of BBAustralia, but I doubt I'll have time to watch much of it..

Hi Hicky. That looks like a very spacious kitchen, judging by your plan.

Was that electrician arranged by you, or did your buyers arrange it? Glad you got your certificate anyway.

Getting worried about the Scottish referendum now. A Yes vote looks more likely.

I see they are all up for eviction on CBB. I hope Edele stays, and I'd like Dee to go.

emptybox

Good Afternoon Both.

Pretty quiet at work, warm as well.

Mollie, The kitchen plan will probably change, everyone has differing idea all the time.

I have got a plan of the garden, it's just the outline at the moment, i have a couple of queries on the measurements i could do with checking, but it's plenty big enough for what i want.

I was pleased about the electrics, the buyers team had mentioned a test certificate so we asked my lad who knew an electrician that could do it, it cost ÂĢ100 but was a lot of work but worth it.

I think it is something you need if you are selling your house.

That link you posted won't work, the owner has removed the video, that often happens.

Ice cream on the seafront can't be bad, yes, i got the nice weather as well.

Emptybox, We arranged to have the test done, it was mentioned by the buyer team, we said it was to follow and then arranged it, he was at the house over 4 hours, we ended up with 7 pages of data, nothing gets missed.

He also renewed a socket in the hall that was damaged and even fitted an earth bond or 2, you need so much safety gear these days.

Heaven knows how all my installations passed?

Will this referendum effect you?

For the eviction tonight the money is on Ricci and Lauren to go.

I'm liking George best at the mo, he seems a nice chap.

Hicky

Hi Hicky.

That was probably sensible of you to get the electrics tested like that.

Hopefully it'll satisfy the buyers?

Glad you've had a quiet day at work.

Absolutely lovely day here. Almost like a return to summer.

Still warm at this time.

Oh well; Ricci or Lauren going would suit me just as well as Dee, I suppose.

Yes, the Scottish referendum will definitely affect me directly, as I live in Scotland.

I don't want to live in a different country to my relatives in Norfolk.

(could always move, I suppose)

Plus, I think a Yes vote would usher in years of chaos that would likely knock thousands off the value of savings and pensions etc.

Also, I think it would affect everybody in the UK, because the financial markets would be in turmoil, waiting to see what the results of negotiations would bring.

Could set the economic recovery back by years.

Pity that BB Australia Youtube doesn't work. I hadn't had a chance to look at it yet.

Hope you have found another way to watch it Mollie?

Evening Emptybox.

It was very pleasing that the electrical testing proved to be ok, such a bonus.

It won't matter with the bungalow as we are getting it rewired anyway.

Wasn't sure how this vote lark would effect you, i wonder if it would effect me?

You might need a visa to visit your relations

The eviction should be interesting anyway.

I have heard that Gary is doing CBB for his charity.

""Unlike the others who went on this show to promote their deflated or non-existent careers and boost their overinflated egos, Gary is there to raise money for his Busey Foundation which finances research for and supports children with Kawasaki Disease, which his 4 year old son suffers from. Gary is there to help sick children while the others are there only for themselves.""

http://buseyfoundation.org/

The money is still on Ricci & Lauren.

Hicky

both

Emptybox

so glad you are back to normal now.

Yes I can see your reasons for a "No" vote. I do like some of the devolution things Wales has put in place, but would not like to be in a separate country. And as you say, it will do the financial markets no good, I heard the value of the ÂĢ immediately dipped when the "yes" vote was predicted to get more votes than the "no" one.

Hicky

you were right about Rikki and Lauren, glad to see them go.

that is great that the garden will be big enough for you.

Poor mum was sick on the bus coming home from her day centre when they got back to my house. She was in floods of tears about it, even though they were really nice to her on the bus, but I had to calm her down the wash her clothes straight away.

It is a special disabled bus that just goes to the centre, but the trouble is the bus takes over an hour to drop her at my house as it stops and starts dropping disabled people off. So I think I may have to get a lift to pick her up, or a taxi as it is only a couple of miles from here because I don't want to put her off going to her day centre.

Shame they took off the Oz BB link, as I think you will like it, but have found another one. I got it off the DS forum, their BBUS sticky thing. I am half way through the 2nd episode.

Good for Gary.

hope he wins, apart from Audley, they have treated him awful. Shown no consideration of his disabiliites. My OH recently became deaf in one hear, and it is frustrating for him and me when I try to communicate with him, and when he can't hear to talk on the phone. He is especially bad if there is any background noise at all, so being in a house with so many people, no wonder Gary finds it hard.

M

Evening Mollie.

That wasn't nice for you mum, or anyone else, being sick isn't nice at all.

Hope this link works ok anyway.

Considering CBB finishes Friday it would be good to have another on the go.

I will be very surprised is Gary doesn't win but not sure of his deafness so much, he seems to hear what he wants to, he keeps telling everyone to either stop talking or hush, if he was that deaf he wouldn't have heard them would he?

Glad Ricci and Lauren went, they didn't add much to the show.

Hicky

Hi Mollie.

What a pity your Mum was sick on the bus. That will really have upset her.

Had a look at that BB Aus link. They have a much more elaborate house than us.

They seem to have taken the powertrip idea.

Hi Hicky.

That's sad that gary's young son suffers from that disease. Didn't realise that.

Still don't want him to win though.

My passport is due for renewal in a month or so. Just hope they don't change the rules if there is a Yes vote.

Mind you, although I have lived most of my life in Scotland, I was born in England, and my Mum was English, so hopefully I could pick and choose which passport to have.

Oh, forgot to say. Rachel Rice has had another baby. A second boy (Caleb), a little brother for Lachlan.

Evening Everyone.

Hi Emptybox.

Had a nice brekkie out, got the latest firmware for the dash cam to unzip after i got on the supplier.

got my car washed at the Sainsbury's car park, they come round asking to wash it.

Bought a couple of plaice filets for tea and some cod pieces for brekkie tomorrow, have salted them for now, will wash off the salt before bed.

Just watching last nights bots and live feed.

Just going to draw up a layout of the garden with the rows of trees and paths on it.

I read om a forum that Rachel had had another baby, good on her.

Hope Mollie isn't too worn out?

Hicky

Hi Hicky.

I've never had anybody wanting to wash my car in my local Sainsburys.

Lovely day again here. Bit of a misty start, but very warm when the sun came out.

Got quite a bit of grass cut.

My mower was mostly behaving itself, but the drive stuttered now and again when going up hills.

I did predict the complicated 4 speed drive would be a problem. Simpler is always better where lawnmowers are concerned IMO.

Glad you had a nice brekkie out Hicky.

emptybox

both

Hicky

hope you enjoyed your salted fish for brekkie today.

I had an M and S hot cross bun, the ones with Bramley apple, really yummy they are.

Looking forward to seeing your garden plan if you can post it here.

I think Gary really does have a deaf problem....he probably tells others to hush because if you have a hearing problem you can't hear what the individual person who is talking to you is saying if there is any background noise. I am really surprised in my OH's case how badly background noise affects him if I try and speak to him.

Emptybox

glad you got the good weather. What a disappointment your mower turned out to be. Yes you are probably right, with the amount of usage you need, probably best to stay simple.

End of CBB tonight then, can't say this one has been my fave CBB though.

Been so busy haven't had chance to watch any more of Oz BB but can catch up when ours is up.

Viewed a house yesterday and 4 more to view over the weekend. Have a lot to consider as we will need to build to extend or convert for my mum. But whilst we have this rental we can take our time.

Going out for tea at our fave local pub tonight.

My mum only has a fruity type hot pudding as she is tiny and can't eat too much, but she enjoys that.

who do you think will win CBB? I think Audley might just win over Gary.

have a good day both x

M

Good Afternoon Both.

It's been nice today, no rain so far anyway.

Emptybox, They have had the car wash fellers for years here in Sainsbury's, they eacj=h have a special trolley with all the equipment needed.

It should have been ÂĢ10 but i don't get it done often, the first time since i've had this one as it doesn't seem to get dirty, if the windows are wet with dew in the morning i clean them with the hand wiper thingy so the glass is always clean.

I gave the feller ÂĢ20, a bit reckless i know but i love to see people faces when i give them extra, i suppose i shouldn't really, O/H wasn't impressed when i told her.

But it does look good now, they did it while i was in getting brekkie.

I ordered the Power Magic Pro for my dash cam yesterday, paid for express delivery and it came this morning, have fitted it into the car now, had to find an earth, drilled and used a self tapper for that then had 2 find 2 fuses to tap onto, 1 thats on with ignition and one thats on all the time.

Have been testing it while the car is parked, only problem is it picks up every car that passes, but it records it 10 seconds before the car arrives and 10 seconds after it leaves, but it also records front or back movement or any type of shock or bang sound as well.

Have ordered all new pipe and fittings for the tree watering system both for old place and new system, i will have to redesign the old then start on the new.

Hope you mower holds out, if it splutters thats usually to do with the fuel/air mixture not being right.

Mollie, The salt fish wasn't too bad, needed more soaking, hard to get it right.

Your hot cross bun sounds nice, i have them toasted myself, with my own jam on.

Gary is hard to understand, some of the things he says are not from this world at all.

Good Luck with the viewing, not an easy thing to do but hope you see something that is what you need,

O/H has made a Lamb Shank scouse type meal in a big pot, should be tasty as she bought beetroot to slice and put in vinegar to have with it.

enjoy the eviction anyway, whoever wins is up to the public as we know.

Did a drawing of the new garden with the trees but not sure about the gazebo shadows, may have to redraw, will do a few and see how they work out with the sun direction.

Hicky

Evening both.

Another nice day here, but again it started very misty.

Got a big hedge cut.

Hi Mollie. Hope you enjoy your pub tea.

Must be quite exciting viewing houses? The first few anyway.

Hope you find a suitable one.

Hi Hicky. ÂĢ20 sounds a lot for a car wash.

Glad you're pleased with the addition to your car cam. Bit annoying if it records every passing car though? Means you'd have a lot of footage to sift through, if there was an incident overnight.

Wouln't have thought it was worthwhile tinkering with the watering system at your old place now?

It's not the engine of the mower spluttering, but the drive stuttering. When you're going along it suddenly stops driving forward, and it feels like the drivebelt is slipping, or something in the gearbox. Just needs a shove to get it going again.

It's done it a bit ever since I got it, but seems to be worse now. Might just be that the belt is a bit loose, and needs a new one. But because I can't get into it, it's difficult to tell.

I'll work it out though.

I've voted for Edele to win, but don't think that's likely.

Gary might be deaf, but he's got a very abrupt way of telling people to "shut up". But then Americans do tend to be more direct when they speak.

Trouble is, he tends to speak a load of nonsense anyway, so it's not usually worth letting him finish.

emptybox

Evening Emptybox.

It was a lot to pay him, just had one of those moments.

The camera has got lots of setting for sensitivity of different sensors, for the motion detector, impact G force detectors, 3 of them, it's incredible, it even marks the file to identify if it is forward/revers, emergency, normal, shock event, parking event.

I can play them back on my phone or on the computer full screen in 1080p mode, in normal mode you have a zoom function, it gives lots of data if your moving.

Was watching some recording today, wow, the detail, in parking mode though the fps is down to 15mps whereas it's normal speed is 30fps.

I have to alter the old watering system, it would be too unsightly when i remove over 50% of the trees, around the fence i can remove most of the pipework and reroute what is needed with new pipe as i will be removing 20 trees at least.

It seem crazy to have to repair a belt on a mower that you can't easily get at.

It does sound like the belt slipping, they slip the belt to protect the mechanics of the system, a form of clutch i suppose or else some real damage could be done if nothing could slip.

I can't see Edele winning although i wouldn't mind either.

I would say it's either Gary or George.

I have done the second sketch of the garden plan.

There will be no grass, the area by the building will be decking, all the rest will be 20mm Blue Slate, the Gazebo will be on a decking area as well.

The 'C' on the tubs means a 'Cordon' tree, spaces mean a tree needs more room the trees in front of the Gazebo are vertical trees, the trees that say 'Cordons' are growing at 45deg.

Hi Hicky.

Thanks for the sketch of the garden. It looks very impressive. You'll have great fun getting that all set up.

I suppose it make sense to de-Hickify your old watering system, for the new owners, right enough.

That's good that you can play around with the sensitivity of your camera, to maybe stop it picking stuff in the road up, if you are parked on your drive.

Nice day here again. A bit dull, but with a little sun, and still nice and warm.

Got out to do grass cutting at another couple of places.

I've at last managed to get the plastic cover off the inside of my mower, and gain access to the belt.

There were 3 hidden screws under the gunk. Found one by accident, then found the others by lifting the edge to see where it was secured.

A whole load of grass fell out from around the belt, so hopefully it shouldn't slip as much now. I'll test it out on Monday. The belt looks fine, as far as I can see.

Even if the belt has stretched, and needs to be replaced, I can at least now get access to it.

So Gary won CBB? I guess that was inevitable with all the support he had.

Very strange interviews he gave though. Didn't make much sense.

And the BOTS finale was kind of bizarre.

Enjoyed my spag bol and beer tonight.

First time for 4 weeks.

I lost two Saturdays while I was ill, then last Saturday I was at my bro's.

(think I had a little spag bol one of the days I wasn't well, but no beer)

Evening Emptybox.

My new water pipe and fittings arrived today, will start working out what to do for the best.

There are a lot of adjustments on the dash cam, some of the sensitivity settings are 0-10 and also for the movement detectors.

I've been trying my new key fob cam, fantastic, have had to order more cables as i only got a charging lead, i want a data lead and a TV lead, ordered from Ebay.

The camera is this one.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00BUTDQ3I

Wonder why they make it so hard to get at the mower belt, crazy.

I agree Gary was strange in his interview, he doesn't seem aware of everything thats happening.

I had a nice piece ofsteak tonight, we made the meal between us, i boiled some big spuds sliced in half, boiled for 20 minutes then slice into 3 wedges each then coated in oil and roasted at 180c until they are just starting to crisp the skin, had it with fried onion and mushroom, very tasty.

It was pretty quiet at work with 1 boss on holiday and the other away for a few days playing golf.

We have another chance Sunday to measure up more in the new Bungalow, we have arranged for the kitchen designers to come, the ones who are doing the woodwork, heating plumbing and glazing and new door and some windows.

I need more measurements as well.

Im doing lighting layouts using the new type of LED lighting as you can get a 50/60 led fitting that give about 50w pf light and you pay for 2.3watt.

So 16 lights in the kitchen would give 800 watt of light and you pay for about 32w which would run 31.25 hrs for a unit with a cost of 0.15p

So it would cost ÂĢ0.0048p an hour to run all the lights in the kitchen.

But they would probably be on 3 switches anyway.

The biggest outlay will be buying the fittings and lamps.

Hope Mollie is managing ok.

Hicky

Good evening both

we are slipping around here, only one post in 3 days.

Think we must all be out and about enjoying the excellent late summer weather.

I have managed to spend a little time sitting in the sun in the garden with mum and also having ice cream on the seafront with her and the family. Been busy viewing houses too, not sure yet what to go for, all need some work and additions so need to calculate how much it is likely to be.

Emptybox

well done on working how to get access to the mower. Hope it worked ok today. Are you up to date work wise now?

That is great that you are at last able to enjoy your usual Saturday special meal and beer once again. 4 weeks is a long time to miss out.

Hicky

Gosh that garden sketch is sooo good.   You are very talented doing stuff like this.

How is the sale progressing? Have the buyers got the mortgage through ok now?

We were busy viewing places over the weekend. Will view a few more yet though as we have a lot to consider, we will need to extend/modernise the places we are viewing.

Your camera sounds very high tech, glad you are pleased with it.

Daughter starts new uni course tomorrow, poor thing has gone down with a cold today, talk about bad timing.

Son has been 2 weeks on his music course at college and enjoying it. They are trying to learn songs for the Elvis festival in a couple of weeks.

Watching Cilla story now...do you remember the 60's Cavern tmes in Liverpool HIcky?

The lead male role is being played by a lad who came from the village we used to live in and he used to go to my lad's drama club, so had the same drama teacher. He has done excellent, a big film in Hollywood and period drama on bbc1, now this lead in an itv drama.

Yes I guess it was no surprise Gary won, and it was rather a strange interview. But I was not displeased at the outcome.

have a good evening. xx

M

Evening Mollie.

Just waiting for solicitors to tell us whats going on, they have to do land searches etc.

Don't have a date yet though.

Bad news your daughter getting a cold, as you say, bad timing.

Glad your Lad is enjoying his music course.

I tried to keep away from Liverpool in the 60's mind you, at the beginning i was in Singapore and when  i came back i was very busy as they were getting on with the Vauxhall car factory in Ellesmere port and was working on that when i came out of the military.

Hicky

Hi guys, sorry I haven't been on for a few days. Unfortunately I've been ill again.

I felt great up till Sunday night, then I woke in the early hours sweating and with an upset stomach again, and I couldn't get back to sleep.

Felt rotten all Monday, so I called the doctor and made an appointment for this afternoon. I was feeling a bit better this morning though, but still not right.

He thinks I may not have been on the antibiotic for long enough, and has given me another 2 week course of the same one.

He's also give me another medicine to take for excess acid in the stomach. Not sure why, as I don't suffer from indigestion as a rule, but I'll give it a go anyway.

I have to go back and see him after the fortnight's course, or sooner if I'm not feeling better.

Seems like this might not be as easy to get rid of as I'd thought.

What a nuisance. (Perhaps it was the beer and spag bol what done me in? )

Hi Hicky. What are you going to use that key fob camera for?

It's great that you can get lighting that's so cheap to run nowadays.

It's funny to think of you being in the army and working in car plants in the sixties, while I was still in Primary School.

Hi Mollie. Good luck to your daughter in her new course. Pity about her cold.

Yes, it'll take a lot of consideration for you to find a suitable house, as you've all your family needs to think of.

I thought the Cilla thing was good as well. Is it the guy that plays 'Bobby' that you mean?

evening Emptybox.

Didn't realise you were sick, thats a blow, hope these tablets can sort it out.

Not sure what to do with the new camera, have tried it a few times to get used to it, tell you what, it's very clever what it is capable of.

I'll take something with it and post it here.

Because it takes such high quality video it uses 200mb for a minute of video so i would have to trim it in Movie Maker, that lets me edit the track.

Or you can set it to just audio mode as well.

I have attached a few keys to it so it sure doesn't look like a camera, also, while it is running there are no lights on, the LEDs, 4 off are about 0.25mm diameter but when off you can't see anything, and the camera lens is about 1mm across.

I have only ever worked in Car factories since i qualifies in the Electrical business.

But in the late 50's i was working in Birmingham at the Lucas factory, i was doing some work in the reconditioning area were they took all the faulty dynamo's and starter motors to be reconditioned.

All moving parts replaced and then the whole lot rebuilt and tested, in fact when they went out they were as good as new.

I remember in 1961 in Singapore and we were in the Bunker, another in my small group was repairing code machines (Teleprinters i think), never seen anything so clever in my life, normal circuit boards have their components on one side and the wiring or soldering was on the back.

But for speed in the field for communications repairs had to be carried out under dangerous conditions so the equipment was made in sections, 1 section had the wiring on one side, the other section had the components one one side, between the 2 sides was gold connector spring loaded pins so when you put the 2 pieces together and clamped it together you had a working circuit board, and while it was apart of course you could test each component as it didn't have any other component connected to it.

Of course when it was working ok we packed it back up into a wooden box complete with all it's spare part required and all the tools to repair it.

The problem was, when a code device became redundant we had to check the at it had all the tools to service it as the list enclosed and then box it all up, they came to collect about 50 machines on day and i said, where are you taking them, the driver said to the dock, we take them out until we are in very deep water and throw them overboard.

I could never understand the waste, some of the fantastic tools were the best you could buy, to throw away all this stuff was totally stupid, the system was crazy, the cost to the public purse enormous.

I just couldn't believe that we could be part of a crazy system that was scrapping tools on a scale like this.

Hicky

Good evening both

Aaaww Emptybox

I am so sorry to hear you are unwell again. Hopefully a bit longer on the antibiotics should do the trick because they must of nearly cleared it last time, as you felt a lot better. But you must of been right when you suspected, because your symptoms had not cleared, you were not really ready to come off the meds completely. Try not to overdo it work wise until you are fine again.

Hicky

looking forward to seeing some of the pictures from your camera.

You certainly have some interesting tales to tell of the past.

My dad used to work in a car factory in Birmingham, they employed loads of people then, it was the Austin he worked for. Not sure if that was near the Lucas one?

fancy dumping all those tools in the sea in Singapore, how weird and what a waste.

That is the problem with house selling and buying, these solicitors certainly take their time.

Been busy house hunting again, we have a couple of houses in mind, all needing work doing, but that is fine as long as we take that into account when we work the money out.

Mum went to the seaside on the disabled bus with her day centre today, and the staff bought them an ice cream. How nice of them.

Poor mum was not well later in the day though, so had to take her to docs, doc given her meds for her stomach though, and she seemed a bit brighter by bedtime.

Daughter still has a cold but hopefully will improve now, so it has been very tiring for her first days at Uni.

son has completed a special post driving course with AA, so we can get extra discount on insurance for him now. He did things like drive on motorway and through town centre, and across the common where the sheep walked in front of him.

Still great weather here especially for September, hope it is for you two too.

Goodnight both xx

M

Evening Mollie.

Not had a bad day, bosses are back anyway.

Weather has been kind, hoping it will last so i  can ripen the grapes, they should be ready end September.

Will take a video now i'm off till Monday, Flu Jab Saturday.

I've been looking online at the GU10 LED fittings again, they don't seem too expensive and cost almost nothing to run.

Some people have had the cost of running 16 lights that used to use 800w in Halogen now use 32 watts in LED, thats a drastic drop in cost.

Hope the houses you have in mind are suitable for your needs.

That was nice, your Mum going to the seaside and getting ice cream, lovely of them.

Hope she is ok after her Medicine.

Not nice for your daughter to have a cold at Uni.

That was good, your lad having a driving course with the AA.

Yes, the weather has been great today, dry as well.

Had some peppered squid for tea as starter, then boiled and fried some sliced potato, put some cod loin in the oven and made a bit of chippy curry to pour over it, yummy.

Will either have brekkie (Bacon Roll with Tomato) in the Gazebo of else i'll go top Sainsbury's.

O/H takes her mum shopping Thursday morning.

Hope Emptybox is ok, he wasn't well at all the other day.

Hicky
