byee for now xxxxxxxxxx frodo
he seems to be latching on hes screamed all day
animal lovers will understand ...hears to you little man
Ah I get you now. I remember it was your dog who was getting too frisky, so you had him neutered. When you said "spayed" I assumed it was the bitch.
Well, I really hope the pup survives and thrives.
I see from your link that the ÂĢ25 is for the viewing card. Did you try any old cards that you had hanging about? Sometimes they will work so you wouldn't have to pay anything.
hyah emptybox
you got the gist as the vet said 'wheres there a will theres a way' and certainly thats true ...but we should and could have been more careful

Hello all
read a little to-day back posts that Is sorry to hear your little dogd hasn't been well Mollie..from what I read on here he/she is part of the family ..same here with mine although people who aren't keen on pets I do understand .
You three are so close and have welcomed me on here I like to think that I'm alright coming back ,for me If things go wrong I tend to close Up withdraw
probably a bad trait cos some folks think your arrogant ,not me Its just my way of coping ..so coming back perhaps seems unfeeling ,so If I've given a little of my feelings away ,perhaps you'll forgive me I certainly hope so .
no sleep last night but suddenly this mother feeling seemed to kick in of course I'm tied making sure she Is kind to the pup..but I let this run Its course hoping this would happen and mum and pup seem to be ok
tempted her with tuna ,chicken but she Is not really eating any ideas or help would be welcome .
Its been a cloudy day here no sun and very dull before that I washed every thing I could lay my hands on LOL ,the sun makes you crazy .
Loving BGT and thats not me but David Walliams is a treasure only my opinion loving Amanda Holden too.
Has there been any photos from Hickys garden really missing those a lot
fruit trees surely must be in flower at least some of them
Spag Bol to-day emptybox ? as If It was anything else LOL ..bet you are run off your feet at the moment
anyhows love to all ..frodox
Frodo, I know that C S Lewis is one of your favourite writers. If you happen to be in the Oxford area some time during 19 to 22 September, there is a jubilee festival taking place celebrating his life. It is being organised by the church he attended and where he is buried.
BBC article about this:
Evening All.
Hope pets are doing OK Frodo, i know you are worried about the little one.
It's been a rotten day, no sun appeared today, seemed cold, was about 11C with a slight wind that didn't help, rain seemed to keep off anyway.
Did some more watering system, have just 2 pots to do now, the 2 new fruit tree's i bought.
I have still got the 5 grafted plants in the gazebo as don't think the weather is right to put them out, a pity they sent them really, hope they don't mind being in the gazebo, it's not heated.
That is 53 tubs/pots on the system, have put 5 spray heads for the Raspberry plants
They are all controlled by 11 Stop Taps
Looking forward to BGT and Eurovision tonight.
Just had a baked spud with 5 small chicken thighs with some stuffing, yummy.
Hello El Loro, I'm sure Frodo will be interested.
Evening.
Very wet here all day.
And very cold.
Hope the pup is doing OK Frodo? And I hope you are not losing too much sleep over it, and other things.
Yes, it was bolognese and beer for me tonight.
Hi Hicky. Sounds like your watering system is coming along?
Hope the plants do fine in the gazebo.
My hot water system has stopped working.
Think the boiler is OK. Looks like one of the motorised valves has failed. Either that or an airlock in the system.
I'll have to get on to the landlady about it.
I've still got the immersion system, so I'll still get some hot water.
Quite enjoying Eurovision.
Don't think Bonnie did the song justice though. Her performance was a bit shambolic IMO.
Have rocorded BGT and Dr Who? for later.
Fredo
good to see you posting again. It is a shame you keep away if you have problems, because you know they say a problem shared is a problem halved, and I certainly get a lot of support and/or useful suggestions from my 2 friends here when I have something on my mind, and I think you would too. I am pleased to hear you have gone to CAB, I have heard they are very good, and I did go once with a friend of mine when she was having problems and they were very helpful and professional, so hope you get it sorted soon.
what a shock that new pup must of been to you, and I can imagine your concern now for the pup and its mum, especially as you get fond of the little thing. Perhaps mum dog is weary after giving birth and will later prove to be a better mother when she is feeling a bit better. Hopefully she will start eating again, as she gets over the stress of giving birth. Try not to worry too much about her not eating, my dog often goes for a few days with no food as she is somewhat prone to bad stomachs, and the vet said not to worry about it. But as I am sure you are already aware, you do need to make sure she is getting plenty of fluid though. If my dog is unwell, she wont' go to her water bowl, and even if I offer it to her sometimes she still wont' have it, so we have to give her water with a syringe, the vet told us to do this after the time she had kidney failure. The syringe idea works well if she is too exhausted to drink on her own. Have you tried feeding doggie bits of chicken by hand? Our dog will sometimes eat like this after she has been off her food.
I am sure you are exhausted with the worry and work involved in looking after pup and mum. I hope things work out well for them.
I too lost sleep when my dog was unwell last week, I stayed up all night with her. However, I had to take her back to vets again last Thursday as she was still unwell and the vet has given her more tablets, so she seems to be doing well again now.
Good luck with it all. x
Evening Emptybox.
Though Bonnie was a waste of time, have forgotten what she sang all ready.
Bad news about your boiler, our heating system keeps losing water pressure in the system so i have to keep opening the bypass tap to re-pressurise the system.
You need to keep checking the rads for air in the top. but it should only effect that radiator with the air lock, the others should carry on as normal.
all
Hicky
hope your back is a bit better, as Emptybox says, if you think it might be a chill in your kidneys, maybe you should check it with the docs? Have you been drinking enough fluids whilst doing your gardening?
53 pots on the system, no wonder you have been so busy.
Let's hope the weather improves soon, so you can do the jobs you need to.
Emptybox
hope you enjoyed your Saturday sphag bol.
What a shame they are taking so long to get your car sorted out
And how annoying your hot water is not working , especially as it was only so recently that you had to have a new central heating boiler.
I too am watching Eurovision.
I agree, Bonnie did not perform as well as she could of done, I reckon. Perhaps the nerves came over her?
A lovely day here today, bit of a cool sea breeze but bright and sunny on the whole.
I am finding in hard work now with my mum as she is so forgetful, and i have to keep telling her the same thing over and over. But not a lot I can do as it is age related...lucky my OH is a good help too, we just go in her flat and do the jobs we need to, and make sure I send her food over at weekends, so I am glad she gets meals on wheels in the week. But I even have to remind her to eat them now. She had a cold recently and I think that put her off her food and made her more forgetful.
I did get a nice break today though, had a lovely walk on seafront with a friend and a yummy coffee ice cream.
Thanks for your thoughts on daughter's Uni concerns. Such a hard decision for youngsters to make with the job situation being so tight.
HIcky... I looked up that Hickory smokehouse. Looks like a nice place to go. OH and I went for brekkie today in Greasy Jo old fashioned cafe. Good hot traditional food.
Fredo... glad you sorted your tv stuff out ok.
Hello El Loro, thanks for the message for Fredo.
goodnight all, back to Eurovision results now,
goodnight all x
Hi Mollie. Glad you got the good weather and got your walk on the seafront.
Sad about your Mum's memory. As you say, it mostly comes with age.
In some ways my parents were lucky to have gone while they still had all their faculties. But would I have liked them to hang on longer?..........
I think Bonnie came as high up the rank as she could hope for really.
I wasn't mad on any of the songs, but I liked a few including Denmark and Norway.
Hi Hicky. The heating part of the system seems to be fine; all the radiators got hot when I tried them. It's only the hot water part that's not working. The pipe above the valve gets hot, but below it stays cold. That's why I think it might be a faulty valve. It's one of those grey Honeywell motorized valves. But as I say it could also be an airlock. There's no hot water getting up to the tank; that's all I know for sure.
all
Emptybox
yes as you say Bonnie could of done worse ratings wise. HOpe you get that hot water sorted and your car soon.
Not much on tv at all tonight. Roll on BB time along with the livefeed they have promised us.
Hope Fredo and the dogs are ok.
And hope you had weather good enough to get in your garden Hicky.
I have been outdoors nearly all day today as weather was so nice.
Doggie well now, so she had nice walk this morning, then this afternoon took daughter to archery and we went for a walk up the mountain whilst she was there. I had to buy an ice cream sundae from the van to give me energy to climb up it first though. Then early evening we went to the fair end of the seafront with the dog and I had chips and another ice cream.,,,,my excuse was too tired to cook and when I saw all the other people with chips we couldn't resist.
Also my mum came over this afternoon, and she sat in the lounge with the dog when we walked up the mountain, a change of scenery does her good I think. And I always feed her when she comes over.
Have a good evening all xxx
Evening All.
Not too bad a day, sun came out late though.
Finished my watering system, to automate it i would need to buy a Programmable Logic Controller PLC for short, and connect about 12 x 24vdc solenoid valves and program it to open the valves when i want and for how long.
(Which wouldn't be a problem as that was my job.
But i would have to buy the valves and maybe the PLC.
Replace my Cherry tree as the other one didn't seem to be as expected, bought and installed a Stella in it's place.
Emptybox.
If you have hot water one side of a valve and not the other, it sure means the valve is shut, apart from testing to see if there is any voltage on the solenoid it's hard to say if it is being told to open.
Not sure how an airlock would stop a valve opening, it might effect some circulation after the valve is open.
Hi Mollie.
Thats not good about your Mum, you can only do so much, her memory isn't going to improve.
At least you got a break and a coffee ice cream.
You like Greasy Joe's, i went to my usual place for brekkie today.
Watching Australia now, nothing much on.
Morning.
Wet here just now.
Sounds like you had a tiring day Mollie? Mountaineering included
Good that your Mum was able to look after the dog.
Hi Hicky. Well done for getting your watering system finished.
Sounds like I could do with you having a go at my heating system.
Got on to my landlady, and she says she is sending an electrician out first thing tomorrow. Not sure why she is sending an electrician out? I would have called a plumber in the first instance, but she started the conversation by asking if I knew a plumber, which is strange because she sent out a plumber to fit the new boiler a few months ago.
Perhaps she has fallen out with that one? She's got a history of doing that.
It was probably my fault because I mentioned that I thought it might be the motorized valve, which is electrically operated, so she said "Oh, if it's electrical I'll call the electrician".
Anyway, presumably he'll be able to say if the valve is being told to open by the timer; so he won't be totally useless.
I also think there is an airlock in the system as well. Might be a symptom of the valve not working? It's not just a simple problem.
Truth is, I'm not really sure what the problem is, but I've put it into the landlady's hands, so it's up to her now.
Pity you had to replace your cherry tree Hicky. What was the problem with the other one?
I said earlier that the landlady had a habit of falling out with tradesmen; well she kind of fell out with me over her garden a few years ago.
I used to do her garden, and perhaps she felt I wasn't coming often enough? But, instead of discussing it with me, she just got somebody else in without telling me. Then when I arrived at the beginning of the next season to do some work she said "Oh, this is a bit embarrassing........"
I wasn't really bothered as it was a big garden, and I didn't really have the free time available to do it justice. But it would have been nice if she'd phoned or sent a note to say I wasn't required.
Motor Morphers and then The Fall tonight.
Evening Emptybox.
As long as it's a boiler feller they may be able to sort it.
An ordinary Electrician wouldn't look at a boiler would he?
The cherry tree had a problem last year, lost all the fruit, sprayed it this year in the winter and have a feeling the tree didn't like it, most of the flower buds had died.
Changed it now anyway.
Motor Morphers isn't on, it's the story of the 3 kidnapped girls.
Went out for tea, had Fish & Chips, very nice.
Hi Hicky.
Yeah, I'm not expecting much from the electrician. No doubt a plumber will be needed before it's fixed.
Hope your new cherry tree does better than the last.
Yes I saw the prog about the kidnap victims. They must have postponed Motor Morphers.
Hopefully it's a bit dryer here tomorrow. Very heavy rain this evening.
Evening Emptybox.
Another dull day really.
Been dry though, which is good.
Another Bank Holiday Monday.
Tried to make my bacon & egg on toast brekkie more authentic, made it then wrapped it in greaseproof paper for 5 minutes.
Thats how i get it at work as a takeaway.
For some reason it taste's better as it lets the toast get moist.
Did a few bits in the garden, planted some garlic, mainly to scare off the aphids.
Labelled all the watering taps, grafted veg still ok, will plant out Friday or Saturday.
Rang gardening place to see where my next 3 blackberry plants are, not in yet, may be next week.
Asked if they had received my email with pictures, after a minute she said think someone had got it yesterday and were looking into it.
Had my lad here with his little ones, have to keep an eye on them, the 2 year old is doing well at talking.
Cooked a baked potato, cooked some massive tiger prawns, 10 each.
Made a fruit salad of Strawberries and Raspberries.
I'll just attach a couple of the pictures i sent the garden centre, very disappointing plants really.
Chantelle's Dating site.
Hi Hicky.
No, those plants don't look very impressive, right enough.
Haven't decided whether to sign up for a date with Chantelle or not yet.
Not bad day here.
Waited in all morning for the electrician, who never turned up.
Certainly can't afford to wait in tomorrow.
No word about the car yet, I'll have to ring them tomorrow.
Enjoying 'Frankie', the thing about a district nurse.
Sounds like you had a good day in the garden.
all
Emptybox
from what you say about your LL, you could be talking about mine. All the trademen are fed up of her fussiness and she has trouble getting them out, it took 3 viists from different ones to fix the shower recently and a very long wait, and on another occasion, I stayed in for an appointment she had made for her to come and check something and she never turned up. Such a pains she is, and other times she just turns up and asks for me to let her in, with some excuse for something to check, I used to let her in, now I make an excuse and contact the estate agents and tell them I require an appointment.
Such a shame you lost a mornings work, let her know you are not impressed and have lost money through this. And what a cheek she had not telling you she had dumped you as her gardener and taken someone else on without telling you.
Hope you hear about the car soon, and hope it is good news.
Hicky
Glad you finished your water system, and managed to get a lot done in the garden today. Hope you have better luck with the cherry tree replacement. Interesting photos and you are right what you say about them not looking too good.
thanks for the Chantelle link. She looks different in that piccie on the site.
that is nice having son and little ones over, aawww age 2 is such a cute age, but hard work as you can't let them out of your site for long.
I went swimming today with daughter in the holiday caravan park pool, it was lovely, lots of young families enjoying the pirate ship bit, but still plenty of space for us to do our lane swimming. I am thinking of going down the big slide, but am a bit nervous of it... which is ridiculous when you see how little the kiddies are coming down it. I sent daughter down it to test it today whilst i think about whether I go down it or not.
Just come back from pub where son was playing in his college band, they played acoustic instead of electric for a change tonight, so it was a lot quieter than normal...son said it was because the audience was so old.. it was for a 50th birthday party....
Goodnight both x
found this link about coconut oil,
http://www.sarahwilson.com.au/...do-with-coconut-oil/
haven't used mine to cook with yet, but used it on skin to sunbathe, it feels so nice and moist.
Go down that slide Mollie. You know you want to.
Luckily my landlady never bothers visiting.
Not that I'd mind too much. She's quite an attractive girl (in her forties).
Think I'd be disappointed if a band went accoustic.
Hi guys.
Not bad day here; a bit windy, but got plenty done.
Seemingly I'm getting the car back tomorrow morning. Then I can get it to the other garage to finally get it's MoT. That's if all happens as it's supposed to?
No word from the electrician still.
I haven't got on to the landlady again yet because I've got plenty to deal with trying to organize the car. And I've got to get some work done, so I don't want to have to wait in again.
If I don't hear anything I'll ring her again next week.
Watched Location Location and now The Apprentice.
Go down that slide Mollie. You know you want to.
Luckily my landlady never bothers visiting.

Emptybox
your post there made me laugh on 3 counts...
Yes you are right, I am tempted by the slide...
didn't realise your LL was a youngish looker...
yes the college bands that did play were not so enthusiastic having to play their acoustics.
Good evening all
Emptybox
glad you got the good weather and caught up a bit workwise. It was nice here too, bit chilly in the strong coastal breeze, but no complaints from me, got a lot of washing dried and OH got garden tidied.
Don't blame you not wanting to wait in again for an electrcian not to turn up.
Good luck with the work on the car.
hope Hicky had a good day and got in his garden.
How is your back now Hicky?
wonder how Fredo is?
I too watched The Apprentice. I am not keen on those 2 guys who were in the boardroom, but enjoyed the show, as usual.
goodnight all xxx
found this picture of Chantelle, not a very big one, but from what we can see, she looks good in it.
Good Morning Everyone.
Just made a couple of bacon and egg sandwiches and wrapped them in tin foil to bring to my home office.
They taste so much better like that, for some reason.
Hope they are sorting your boiler Emptybox, , a proper nuisance when the water system isn't working.
Hope they sort your car also, what a lot of messing about.
Enjoyed The Apprentice, a strange lot thats for sure.
Thats funny Mollie, playing acoustic to keep the noise down.
Still no word from the plant place, still seems too cold at night to plant my grafted veg out, also so windy.
Forecast has changed again, overnight Thursday was supposed to be the last cool night, now it moved to Friday, ah well.
My new hosepipe multi-jet thing came, wow, it's fantastic, 7 types of jet.
This one.
http://www.primrose.co.uk/king...ray-gun-p-43333.html
Made a curry last night, had 3 chicken thighs, bones and cut up, had onion, cooked rice, used some chip shop curry, you just add water and boil/simmer a minute, very nice too.
Forecast not good for today and tomorrow though.
BB news.
----------
The new clean and green house will open its doors on Channel 5 complete with recycled furniture.
But while self-sufficient living might sound like a dream come true, this will not be The Good Life.
One insider has already dubbed the new house âthe home from hellâ.
A statement from Big Brother said: âItâs all about self-sufficiency and recycling this year.
âAs the housemates enter they will be greeted by a huge wall containing recycled life-size front doors. But what do they signify â and what lies behind them?
----------
Morning guys.
Dull cold and windy here.
I got my car back and have just taken it along to the local garage, so I'll have to see what they make of it. Should get it back, with a new MoT, by Friday evening though, unless they find anything else wrong with it.
Just walked back, and am having a coffee before I get out to do some work.
Still no word about my hot water system.
I've got an immersion heater in the tank as backup Hicky, so I'm not without hot-water, so in one sense there's no urgency about it, but would be better to get it fixed.
HI Mollie.
I'm not keen on any of the guys on Apprentice really. Don't mind the posh chap, but he seems rather handless in the tasks, so is likely to be on his bike fairly soon.
Hi Hicky.
That's interesting about the recycling theme on BB. At least the house will look different anyway.
Hope you hear about your plants soon.
Enjoy playing with your new squirty hose thing.
Evening All.
Evening Emptybox.
Hopefully you will have your car and it's mot sorted soon.
I suppose all those on The Apprentice are only in it for themselves so team playing is not easy.
Went to the supermarket for some grocery's, yummy, love shopping for food.
Got loads of goodies.
Made a belly pork roast for tea, crackling was fantastic.
Channel 5 have confirmed that the new series of Big Brother will be called "Big Brother: Secrets and lies"
-----------
Had a reply about the plants.
----------
Thank you for your email and for the photographs.
I apologise that you are unhappy with the quality of the fruit bushes and vines. As we are unable to replace this season we would advise for you to continue with the fruits and see what happens. As the season is behind they will hopefully soon start to put on more top growth. A comment has been made on your account, so if you are still concerned about the plants late June/July please let us know.
Kind Regards

NEWSFLASH Big Brother 14 Launch night will be Thursday June 13 9pm
Wow!
how exciting, let the countdown begin.
Good evening all
Hicky
thanks for the BB info, not long to wait now and I have a feeling this will be a good series, Your jet thing looks like a bargain, I am sure you will get plenty of use from it. Interesting reply about your plants. so now I guess you just have to wait and see what happens. Yes I too love to go food shopping, especially for treats.
Emptybox
Fingers crossed you have the car back Friday, and it has not cost more than you anticipate. They are taking their time sorting your water out. Our LL was the same sorting our shower out, took her a few weeks.
Yes the guys are rather big headed this year on the Apprentice, I do find the posh guy quite interesting and likeable too, but as you say not exactly great in the tasks. I don't mind Alex (Dracula), as he does try and come up with original ideas (and I love cheese on toast), but then I am a bit biased as he went to same college as my kids go to.
Not much on tv tonight. Oh well we soon have BB to look forward to and a full week of BGT next week.
Took dog nice walk to seafront today, it was indeed bracing. It is back to the ski jacket and boots again. No complaints from me though, prefer it to humid heat and rain.
have a good evening all xx
Evening Mollie.
It sounds like an interesting show doesn't it? hope this date is the real one.
Always hard to tell.
As you say, i'll see how the plants go, think they have put me back a lot though.
If i come across any good vines while in Costco or somewhere else that are well advanced i might get them and dig these out.
It's been very windy today, you need Ski Jacket, i put my body warmer on.
Was watching the Road Show, now Flower show, next Anne Boleyn.

Emptied the fried rice onto the plate, added the sliced steak, poured over the stir fry, yummy.
