Hi Frodo.

Just still a bit wobbly from my chest infection/cold or whatever it is.

Won't get an appointment at the hospital for an ultrasound test till after the Easter break, but my anxiety about it went as soon as I came out of the doctor's surgery.

Suppose there's still a chance the doc is wrong, but I'm not worrying about that now.

Balti sauce out of a jar.

Watching the prog about Eric Morcambe with Miranda.

will try again to re-type some of my post...

Emptybox

Aaaww, you are bound to still feel a bit wobbly...a chest infection take some time to shake off, plus you had all that stress and worry last week. Now the doctor has taken that particular worry away, and you feel well enough to eat again, I hope you enjoyed your sphag bol a lot more tonight than you did last week. These nasty viruses do seem to be taking a while to shift this year. My legs felt like jelly when I took the doggie a walk even after a week of getting that last cold, and my daughter still feels off with the nasty cough it has left her with. I am so glad you could share your concerns with us here, I too don't have local friends, but enjoy the nice company of the other 3 of you here to be able to chat with.

Hicky

hop you enjoyed the roast with the family, and the kiddies enjoyed the choccy eggs. We are having our roast for Easter tomorrow. How nice of your neighbour to give you a hot loaf. Glad you got the fig trees done, good job we have had a dry spell to enable you to do stuff in your garden. I too enjoy reading your daily food diary.

Fredo

glad doggie is feeling better.  Aaaww how sweet of you to make the doggie pants...a better alternative to the dreaded doggie collar, I would of thought. Lovely Easter piccie, and I like the one of me and the doggie. Looks similar to my dog with the fluffy looking fur. We went to M and S and stocked up with cripsbakes yesterday, I got cheese and onion and salmon and tuna ones for the rest of the family.

At last some better tv for us to watch tonight, I enjoyed Ant and Dec then watched The Voice on the recorder after.   Enjoyed both of them.

We went to weston super mare today. Lots of holiday makers there for Easter, there were fair rides on seafront for Easter, but too cold for me to attempt a go on one of them. For once I didn't actually fancy an ice-cream, but made up for it with the yummy and piping hot huge cheese and onion pasty I had.

have a good evening all.

M

Evening.

A bit of snow overnight, but it cleared away very quickly.

Quite sunny today, and not quite so cold.

I got the oil changed on my mower and made sure it was going OK, and also got my strimmer into shape. Might start some jobs from Tuesday if the weather is fine, and if I'm feeling up to it.

Feeling much better today. Still not 100%, but my temperature is back to normal, and the coating has gone from my tongue. I tucked into my spag bol with gusto (not Mrs Gusto )*

Thanks for the tip about Girl With the Dragon Tattoo Frodo. Not sure if it's my thing though?

Glad you enjoyed your day in Weston Mollie.

I think I'll just go and watch The Voice now.

*someone who used to be on the thread Frodo.

FM

Evening All.

Happy Easter, I forgot to pop in, it's this nice weather drawing me outside.

Had 3 lovely days of sun here, cold though in the shade.

Getting more done in the garden but still need certain fertilisers.

Have had to make a chart out for each plant with the fertilisers required.

I have it in my book i've made but need that data on one sheet.

Had the little one here again, been pulling him around the garden in the new 4 wheeled kart, he loves that.

Also been wrapping my fleece up onto rolls, it was around the plants over the winter.

Have been making some Somerset Brie in toasted crumbs with almond gratings added.

Made some chips and had a plaice fillet with that.

Delish.

Been eating chocy as well, probably shouldn't.

Have you tried the curry pastes Emptybox, far better than the sauces, they seem to be more authentic as you make the sauce to the consistency you want it yourself.

Glad your feeling better, it is a worry, you'll be fine.

Hope your ok to get some work done from Tuesday then.

Sorry you lost your post Mollie, so annoying.

I watched the voice, very good, i enjoyed that, not a lot on.

Would have thought it too cold for fair rides, it would be for me anyway.

Hello Frodo, doggy seems ok now, natural instincts suppressed i assume.

With this nice weather i have been unwrapping all the plants and wrapping them all up again at night, i want them to catch a little extra light, don't want them to come out of dormancy early though.

Heard nothing about BB, a couple of months away yet i think.

Hicky

Emptybox

So glad to hear that you are so much better that you managed to tuck into your sphag bol with Gusto....but not Mrs Gusto....

Did you find your supermarket open yesterday?  They are all closed round here Easter Sunday. Don't rush to get back to your gardening until you are feeling really well again, not good to overdo it physically after a breathing infection.

Fredo

So glad the doggie is well now after his op, and that it has done the trick now. Haven't heard about BB, but expect we won't hear for awhile yet. Yes indeed a bit more livefeed is what we need. But not sure if we will get it???

will post this as now as part 1 incase I lose it again...part 2 to come..

M

Evening.

Sunny here, and not too cold indoors, but very cold out when I was washing my vehicles.

Lamb chops for supper tonight.

Haven't really bothered with garlic bread Frodo. Quite like it in a restaurant though.

Hi Hicky. Haven't tried the curry pastes. With the sauce you don't have to add anything, apart from the prawns or chicken etc.

Bet your grandson enjoys getting pulled around in that cart you bought?

Haven't bothered with any Easter eggs myself.

Watched that Bermuda triangle prog as well, now watching the thing on BBC2 about Herculaneum.

emptybox

HAPPY EASTER MONDAY ALL XXX

Hicky

Glad to hear you have been able to get out in the garden and enjoy a bit of good weather. I am sure a bit of choccy won't do you much harm after all that fresh air and exercise you have been getting the last few days.

I too have been induging in a bit of choc, but have done loads of walking in the nice dry cool weather. You sound very organised with your charts for your plants. This unseasonal cool weather has certainly kept you busy looking after your plants this year. Your Somerset brie and plaice and chips sound nice. Aaaww I bet your little lad looked so cute in the wheelie cart.

Had a busy but nice couple of days, good to have a bit of time for ourselves for a change after being so busy with my mums moves recently.

Yesterday took doggie a long walk on seafront in the morning, then out for a walk on the cliffs in the afternoon, so lovely and sunny, lots of people around. I treated myself to a nice choc ice before starting the long walk back up the cliff hills.

A much colder wind today, but at least it was still dry. Took doggie a walk, then went into Cardiff. Then stayed there for tea as a late birthday treat for me and OH. We went to Red Hot,

Hick, thanks so much for recommending this to us, it was great!!

I have never seen such a choice of food. Even for me, who doesn't eat meat. I resisted the temptation to overeat the hot foods though, so I could sample plenty of deserts too.   They even had a chocolate fountain there, I dipped a marshmallow it in, and tried some of the woffle daughter dipped in it, and lots of other stuff like cheesecakes, ice-creams, mousses. Bang goes the diet... oh well it was Easter.

Fredo... have you tried Red Hot? I know they are in a few cities, but not sure if there is one near you,

Have a good evening all... not much on tv tonight.

M

Emptybox

That is good your supermarket was open when you got there.

Glad to hear you are nearly yourself again, to be expected still feeling a bit more tired though. The grass growing has seemed to of come to a halt down here too, as it has gone so cold. So a good chance for you to take a bit more a rest until the tiredness eases.

Went to Primark today, and it was full of summer sandals. No one was looking at them though, as like me, most are still wearing their thick socks and boots.   I did buy a new coat reduced to ÂĢ10 though.

M

Morning All.

Looks like another reasonable day here, at work today with it being a holiday Monday.

Glad you enjoyed Red Hot Mollie, it really is a fantastic outing for some grub, if like me you liked everything then you can imagine my delight.

They will cook meals for you, whatever you want, just go to the right chef.

I conquered the Brie in the end, it just needed the oil to be deeper so you only leave it in for 2 minutes.

I put the Brie in the flour, then the egg, then the bread crumbs then the egg and bread crumbs again, then in the fridge for 10 minutes.

That worked out well.

I've a bit left to do as well.

Emptybox, that Bermuda triangle prog was good, very interesting, saw the thing on BBC2 about Herculaneum, good as well.

I suppose the grass won't grow when the average temperature is only about 3C, i've still got bits of snow in the garden, which of course is now ice.

Hicky

all

Hicky

pity is a work day today, as it is so sunny. Never mind at least we have nice light evenings to look forward to now, so you might be able to get in the garden even on work days now.

Glad you had success with the brie recipe, I reckon you could well do the job of a chef yourself now.   Yes so much food to sample at Red Hot, it is hard to make a decision on what to try. I loved the mini cream cheese and mango tartlets and the crisply fried spring rolls.

Lovely sunny day here too today, nice for drying washing.

Hope you are not too busy at work today HIcky.

Have a good day all. x

M

Evening.

Quite a nice day here.

I cut a hedge this afternoon. Just a couple of hours to ease myself back into working slowly.

There was some snow on the ground in a sheltered spot at the house, so it's taking a long time to shift in some places.

Hope you had a good day at work Hicky?

Hi Mollie. Glad you had a nice meal in Cardiff.

Just watched The Syndicate. It's good, but I'm not sure I like the format, whereby they continually relive the same time from different people's perspective? Worth watching though.

I think it's great that Emma is going to be presenting the main show. I think she'll be better at it than Brian, and I never really felt that BBBOTS suited her.

Wonder who will do BBBOTS now? There's rumours that it might be Rylan Clark? Can't see that working well?

emptybox

Evening Everyone.

Evening Mollie.

Yep, i knew about Emma this morning when Luke tweeted it, i needed confirmation so tweeted him, he sent me a link which confirmed it.

He sent me this link at 9,54 this morning.

http://about.channel5.com/node/1788

There has been a lot of talk and polls which looked like Brian was out.

Just had some spare ribs for tea and a plaice fillet.

A nice picture of Louise, wow.

https://twitter.com/cliffe1/st...972262518784/photo/1

Not much on TV, Wales and Ross Kemp.

Was pretty busy at work, got there at 5.30 and sorted the account paperwork to restart for the 2nd vat quarter.

Have seen a few shoots sprouting on some raspberry canes.

Hicky

Good evening all

Emptybox

Good luck for the scan, hopefully you shouldn't be there for long, when I had one, it was very quick, and not painful or uncomfy, so try not to worry about it.   Do you have far to drive to get there?  Do you have to go at a later date to the docs for the results?

Glad you had a nice day weather wise, and managed to get a bit of work done.

I watched the same as you tonight.

Hicky

hope you had a good day today, after your busy day at work yesterday. Spring is here for your raspberry canes then.

Yes i too am glad to hear Emma is taking over BB. I did like Brian, (one of my fave BB winners), but think Emma is probably going to be better suited to this main show presenting job. i agree Emptybox, she was not really suited to presenting that rubbishy show, BBOTS... she's far too good for that.

Lovely sunny day today and the sun actually felt warm, (still coat weather though), so we sat out at the seafront cafe and had a latte/biscuits, when we took doggie a walk.

Lots of washing dried all nicely on the line again today too.

Goodnight all xxx

come back soon Fredo.

M

Evening All.

Been a nice day really, mostly sunny, cold in the shade though.

Managed to give all the trees and plants some fertiliser anyway, and watered them.

Glad you got some work done Emptybox, the ultra-scan is the one were you have the cream or Vaseline on your skin and the nurse guides the hand help device over and you see it on the screen, what they use on pregnant females to see the baby.

They have dispatched the other 10 strawberry plants anyway.

I uncovered the Peach and the Nectarine plant today to get some sun, uncovered the rest as well, but covered them up for the night.

Working tomorrow.

Had another go with the Somerset Brie, getting better, then i cooked some joint of meat and made a roast dinner.

Yes Mollie, a good day for drying your washing, and nice to be able to sit at the seafront cafe.

I think BB wiill start in June, not sure when though,

Last year it started Tuesday June 5th, so it might start June 4th.

Lauren in a photo-shoot, she's in big demand these days.

Hicky

hope work was ok today. Glad to hear you managed to get out in the sunshine yesterday and come on in your garden. Good job we had a bit of sun for your fruit trees yesterday.

So I guess if BB starts in June, it should carry on through the summer until September'ish? It would be nice to have livefeed, but it looks like they only want to give us limited acess to that.

Not a bad day today, as it was dry, but a chilly wind and little sun, although bright, so not warm enough to sit by the cafe today, but fine for walking.

Did mum's housework and emptied her bins, her meals on wheels pudding looked yummy, a mandarin tart with cream.

I have had a Matlesers bunny as my treat, the kids bought them for my birthday.

Think I will watch Secret Eaters and Peter Andre tonight.

Emptybox

have you done any gardens today? Are you 100% well again now? Hope so.

Good luck with the scan tomorrow, as Hicky says, they squirt this gooey/vaseline stuff on your skin, and then you can see it on the screen,... it is a straightforward test, so hopefully you wont' be there for long. Hope all goes well.

have a good evening all. xxx

M

Good Evening All.

Weather getting a bit better from next week, low for each day rises to about 4deg.

My NW debit card has been scammed, have a feeling it might have been when i rang a number on the NW activation code sheet, not sure yet, going to the bank in the morning to sort it out, they have stopped the card for now anyway as it has been used in the USA.

Wasn't too busy at work

BB will be for between 10 and 13 weeks i suppose, so it could end end of August or early September.

Watching Masterchef, then i'll find something to watch before Celeb Juice.

Hicky

Evening.

Dull, windy and cold here, but I got some work done.

I did some more tidying up work, but also I cut some grass for the first time this year.

I would say I'm 98% recovered Mollie. If the scan tomorrow confirms the doctor's diagnosis then I'll be 100%.

Not wanting to think about what would happen if the results are bad.

The hospital is about a 40 minute drive Mollie, and the appointment is at 9am, so I'll have to be up sharp tomorrow.

Pity it was colder for you, that you couldn't sit at the sea-front cafe.

That's bad news about your debit card Hicky. Hope you don't lose out because of it. I think they should recompense you if something has been taken.

Glad you weren't too busy at work anyway.

I watched Secret Eaters, now I'm watching The Intern, the thing with Hilary Devey.

Haven't heard from Frodo for a while.

emptybox

Evening All.

Evening Emptybox.

Was watching Peter Andre, now Juice.

Didn't realise what The intern was.

Not sure if our grass has been growing, hard to tell.

Weather beginning to warm a bit at night, after this week we have a chance.

Good luck for the scan tomorrow, early start then.

Don't think i will lose anything, will try and sort it out tomorrow at the bank.

Just won't be able to use that card, they will send me another.

Where is Frodo anyway? haven't seen her, hope her doggy is ok now.

Had sliced spicy marinated chicken off the spit over chips with chilli sauce, yummy.

Hope Mollie is able to get out and weather not too bad in her neck of the woods.

Hicky

Morning.

Just thought I'd post to say that my scan went well.

The girl (and it was a girl .) confirmed that it is what they call an epididymal cyst, and doesn't need any treatment.

She said the results would be sent to my GP in about 7 days.

I'm now a bit worried that he's going to be niggling me to have a hernia op, which I don't want to have at the mo because I couldn't afford the recovery time during the grass cutting season.

They're not bad anyway, and I've had them for at least 3 years withoutz problems, so I think I'd put him off.

I think I'll avoid poking the GP with a stick, but he might contact me, I suppose?

Bit drizzly here this morning, but I might do some work this afternoon.

emptybox

Good morning all

Emptybox

glad to see your post, kept refreshing to see if you had posted how things went. So pleased the scan and the results are fine, and you need no treatment. That is the good thing about these scans, they can read and give you the results immediately. A very wise decision imo to put off that op, as you have had it for so long and without problems. You shouldn't have problems with the GP if you tell him straight, you don't want the op. (that is even if he contacts you about it). If it is not giving you problems best not to give yourself a problem by having an op to get over. I bet you are feeling a whole lot better now that scan has confirmed nothing to worry about.

Hope the drizzle clears so you can get in gardens. Nice and sunny here at the moment, so lots of washing out and more to get out. Never short of washing with 6 to wash for.

Hicky

How annoying about your bank card, hope it is sorted now. This too happened to us 2 weeks ago. OH had phone call from credit card company and somone had tried 2 transactions, one for over ÂĢ700 and one for over ÂĢ400. Luckily this card has a limit on it of ÂĢ200, which we kept low to use for internet purchases, so these fake transactions had not been allowed. It had already happened the week before, so they eventually sent us new cards with new numbers. The first  time it happened they just sent us cards with the same number, so that is 3 attempts someone had made to fake transactions, .

Is it a work day today?

If so, lets hope for some nice weather over the weekend for you.

Did either of you watch Dogging Tales on C4 last night?  Can;t say much about it other than it was unbelievably

But very funny in parts too , because it was so   Worth a watch on catch up.... it had Twitter going mad last night and still this morning.

back to pegging washing, then take dog a walk, just caught up with OH's paperwork.

Have a good day.x

Shame Fredo is not around again.

M

Hi Mollie. I got out to do a bit of work in the end.

Interesting someone has tried to scam your card as well?

I'll have to keep a close eye on my cards.

I did watch Dogging Tales, although I wasn't going to mention it.

Felt a bit sorry for the little fella who had two large ladies, but seemed to lose his nerve, and didn't quite measure up to requirements.

Don't see much on for tonight?

wonder if you or Hicky use Linx?

My OH and one of my lads has some, but after watching that show, think I will change the brand I buy for them from now on.

M

Hi guys.

Lovely sunny day here. Almost feels like Spring.

I potted up some of my tomato plants.

Never been big on after-shave Mollie. Never tried Lynx anyway.

I have a few bottles on my dressing table that people have given me over the years, and I dab them on occasionally, but I wouldn't have a clue if they smell nice or not? I think I've had one bottle for 30 odd years.

I've recorded Dr Who and the Voice.

emptybox

Evening All.

Got my new card this morning, very handy.

Had to change the details on certain places as they have the old card details.

It's been very sunny today, but 5C in the shade.

My replacement Strawberry plants came, gave my neighbour 8 of them.

I had just eaten a dish of the beef Rendang i made and the 2 Hairy Bikers started to make it, they said it was voted by 35,000 people the best meal in the World.

Glad the scan result was ok, the Hernia would probably be done via a small incision but i don't know how long you would be laid up for, could be a few weeks minimum.

I bought a Peach Tree and a Plum tree, they are only young so won't produce yet, for ÂĢ9.97 each at Costco couldn't resist.

It takes my total plantage this year to this.

Hicky

Good morning all

Emptybox

at you with your 30 year old after shave. Probably most of it is evaporatated by now.

Glad to hear you both got the good weather yesterday, we did too. In fact the sun was quite warm, so I sat out for ages reading my book , in just a vest top to grab the Vit D.   I figured I needed it, as I have got a cough and cold, not as bad as last one I had, but annoying.

Looks nice again today.

Hicky

Did you enjoy the beef recipe and consider it was worthy of so many voting it the best meal in the world?

Wow !!  That is some list of home grown food. And of course the most healthiest way to eat food too. You are really the expert in this now.

The first piccie of the baby is so funny, with the messy hair.

And in the second piccie, he is just so cute, what a lovely smile he has.

Last night we went to see Alfie Boe in Cardiff. Very good singer, a sell out, but a long evening as I didn't feel at my best with this cough, (daughter the same). Glad I went, but was glad to get home and to bed too.

Just heard the weather forecast and they had been saying it was going to get warmer early in the week, now they have changed their minds and are saying the East wind is back again tomorrow, so it will feel very cold again. Makes you wonder if they were just a guessing it was going to get warmer as we are well in into April?

Haven't had chance to watch Ant and Dec or the Voice yet, will probably catch up tonight.

Think we are going for a quick shop into Cardiff today.

My lad has gone out for the day with his drama group. They have gone to a cultural festival in West Wales to perform an updated version of Under Milk Wood, in the church village where Dylan Thomas used to live. He has been rehearsing a lot this week for it.

Have a good day all xxx Hope you both get a nice spring day to enjoy today too.

If you are reading, come back Fredo!!!

M

Afternoon. Just got back from the supermarket.

Dull and cold here today.

That's quite a list of fruit trees Hicky. Surprised you can fit them in to your little patch?

Glad you got your new card, but a nuisance having to change your details.

Your grandson certainly has an individual hairstyle?

As regards the hernia op. I think it's a very quick op, and you can be back to driving within a fortnight, but you can't lift anything heavy before about 6 weeks, which would make working with the mower impossible.

I might think about it for late October when the grass is finished? Depends how I go on?

Hi Mollie.

Sorry to hear you have another cough. Glad you could get a bit of sunbathing in. I suppose I could have done that here yesterday, but not today.

Is Alfie Boe opera?

Hope your lad enjoyed his day with his drama group?

Think I might watch The King's Speech tonight on 4?

I'll record Once Upon a Time on 5 at the same time.

emptybox

Emptybox

did you get any treats from the supermarket? Hope you didn't forget your beers.   Sounds like a good idea to wait until at least October to see how you go before making a decision on the op.

Alfie Boe is opera trained, but has done a lot of musical theatre.  Last night was mainly rock though, but my fave was his song from Les Miserables, which he starred in on stage for a long time.

Hicky, as Emptybox says, yes it is a nuisance having to change your card details, we had to do that too. Hope you have managed to get in the garden today.

I have just watched the real life documentary on The Kings Speech, quite interesting. I have heard the film was good, but think I will watch Part 2 of the Village. Last week was a bit depressing, but will see how it goes this week, before giving up on it.

Not such a nice day as yesterday here today, but at least it was dry.

have a good evening all xxx

haven't seen you around for a couple of days, but we will let you off as you last post had such cute piccies of the baby.  Hope you are ok and have been busy enjoying the dry weather in your garden.

Emptybox

have you been doing your gardens today?

It was dry here again.

But this cough/cold felt worse today, out of breathe from coughing, even just  taking the dog a walk on the flat and feeling real hot and then cold.  Have decided I now have to slow down,so I can knock this on the head. Like you when you had something similiar Emptybox, unusual for me, but I couldn't eat all my tea tonight.

So an early night in bed for tonight I think.  Daughter bought me some nice books for my birthday, so will have a read. One of them is the real life story of who Mrs Brown, from Mrs Brown's Boys was based on.

Did you both see the Voice?  I enjoyed it, think this series is going to shape up to be better than the last one.

Roll on summer and hopefully the end of all these cold viruses and the start of BB too of course.

Have a good evening all xxx

M

Evening All.

The beef recipe Mollie was the Beef Rendang, it is really good.

I think it will get warmer after the second half of April.

The little one is fantastic, he's so funny as well, but bright.

Yes Emptybox, it's difficult to take time out for an Op to heal.

After mine they let me rest then they used to come and pick me up and drive me to work, they were very good and paid me for the whole time i was off.

I've had a sore throat and been sneezing a lot,(caught off Mollie)

Have taken a few throat sweets/Lozenges.

Was busy at work for some of the day then 1 boss went on Holiday.

Roll on 'Britain's got Talent' at the weekend.
