Evening All.

Great to see you back Mollie & Emptybox & to see Frodo of course.

Just been to Costco for a few bits.

Big Plums, large Mango's, Soup mix, Chicken satay, Turkish Figs, 1k raw large tiger Prawns, a yellow Melon, a Pineapple, Satsuma's.
A 6 x bottle of spag bol sauce, a 12 x plastic dish of chicken soup.

Glad you Mum is comfortable Mollie.

That was bad luck Emptybox, having a diversion is awful, had a few in my time far away from home.

It's when having a Satnav with you comes into it's own.

If your not too sure of the roads.

It's turned the page so it's difficult to read back.

Just made a meal with 1 dozen of the tiger prawns, made chip shop curry (Malaysian) and veg rice,

O/H had a dozen as well, she made king prawn egg fried rice, she's good at making that.

Think i'll get a bottle of Bud from the fridge.

I'm slowly putting all the tree's / plants etc to bed for the winter, just wish the leaves would all come off, 1 Fig tree has non but others have loads on.

It's been a nice day though.

Supposed to stay nice for the weekend as well.

Hicky

FM

Hi Hicky and Frodo.

Glad you enjoyed your King Prawns Hicky.

The leaves are beginning to fall here as well.

Hi Frodo. I like your new witchy avatar.

Not very nice day here. Very wet and misty this morning. Little bit of sunshine this afternoon.

Think I'll wait till Monday to start work again.

The satnav wasn't very useful when I was diverted Hicky. It just kept telling me to go back to the A1 (which was closed). It was only when I was more than halfway through the diversion that it started to give me useful directions.

I suppose I could have asked it to find an alternative route, but I was just following the slow moving line of traffic anyway.

Hope Mollie finds time to pop back to post.

Watching the CH4 cancer fund-raiser, but it's not very good. I probably watch some of my recordings soon.

Have you retuned your Freeview HD boxes Hicky, or did they do it automatically?

The HD channels now start at 101 rather than 50.

ETA: That's terrible about the hit and runs Hicky.

Frodo, I preferred your mini-skirted witch avi. or 'cutty sark' as Burns would say.

Hi again

one lady dead according to the news on the hit and run... for crying out loud what are some people ..killing and destroying other folks lives and dreams to be honest It just makes me sick to my stomach.I'm almost sure It said eleven people where injured even children .What kind of a monster is this.

The murder case baffles me even more to-night of Sian O' Callagan

and Rebbecca Godden if the police officer hadn't questioned him the way he did then Rebbecca almost certainly would not have been found .

To be honest I don't really say these things on line but to-night has been a shocker ..to see families crying on the television is really upsetting .

Mums and Dads expect to go first not their children ..the news to-night had me in tears ..monsters some folks ..sorry for the rant

xx bye for now

FM

Evening guys.

Oh yes, I forgot it was Freesat that you had. Sorry 'bout that.

Wet start again here, but turned into a sunny warm afternoon.

At this rate the grass might start growing again.

Not done much today. Still taking it easy.

Yes Frodo. Bad stuff in the news.

I found out that the accident that closed the A1 was a three lorry shunt, where one man died.

emptybox

Evening Emptybox.

I should get a Freeview box to go with my Freeview TV so i can record more stuff, at the mo i just record stuff on Freesat.

It's been dry all day, forecast says dry tomorrow as well.

Have been all day in the garden, working in the gazebo on the new Fig Tree Tubs.

Tried my new plastics saw blade i bought to cut the 68mm plastic tube for the water base in the new tubs, they are each 3.5" and it takes 25 to cover the base of the tub, on top of that is laid a matting of plastic grating to hold the weight of the compost and tree up.

It also has some sacking over that to further stop the compost.

It has a drain fitted and a tube inserted to add the water.

Hope Mollie is ok and not too worn out,

King Prawn fried rice recipe coming up for Frodo.

Hicky

King Prawn & Egg Fried Rice

Ingredients:
------------
1 Dozen large King Prawns (Tiger ones) Butterfly'd
Half an Onion chopped up as you like it
3 medium mushrooms chopped up as you like it
1 Large Egg, break into a dish

1 Oz butter
Soy Sauce
Salt & pepper to taste.

1 x 125g boil in the bag long grained rice
Or a portion of cooked rice or 4 tablespoon of rice to be cooked.
Note: the rice is best prepared/cooked earlier and drained and frozen.
Rice just cooked isn't ideal as it doesn't separate the same.

If rice has been frozen, thaw in microwave.

When oil hot add chopped onion.
After a few minutes add chopped mushroom
Add stock and bring to boil
Add King Prawns, keep stirring to cook them.
And Soy sauce to taste
Add some salt & pepper to taste

Empty the Wok into a suitable dish for now
Wash Wok.

Heat Wok, add some Nut oil
When oil is hot add cooked rice, keep turning over till very hot
Pour Egg over rice, keep turning to cook egg.
Add the Prawn mix back in stirring continuously

Pour contents of Wok onto serving place & enjoy.

                            Bye for now all xxxx

FM

Afternoon.

Nice sunny day here as well, but as you say Frodo, the grass stays wet all day, so not good drying weather.

I think the forecast for next week is good, but it's due to get cold by next weekend, and of course the clocks go back on Saturday.

Just back from the supermarket, and I've a large pile of ironing to do, but whether I'll tackle that tonight is another matter?

Looking forwrd to X-Factor results. Hope Ella has done well.

Hope Mollie is coping with her Mum etc.

Just noticed you've changed your avi again Frodo? You're determined to get us in a Halloween mood, aren't you

emptybox

all

sorry been away awhile again, so busy I have hardly been on lappy, lucky did manage to see X factor though, and are back now from visiting mum, so can watch it again tonight.

Ella is my favourite, what a great voice she has for such a young girl and I think she looks and acts classy too.

I have only just managed to read back.

So wanted to say.....

Hicky

I was very sorry to hear about the death of your ex.  Hope your lads are getting over the shock now.

Interesting to read your list of shopping from Costco.

Emptybox

what an awful journey you had back from your break. I reckon your brother will of got back from Grand Canary quicker than you got home.Sounds like you had a bit of a break from modern technology there, but I guess it was a good change for you to get a bit of reading in.

Fredo

Yes there is some really awful news around right now.   We used to live not far away from Ely, where the hit and run originated. Not a nice area at all. What on earth was going through his head to do that to women and their children?

I liked the get well piccies, but would you mind changing the choccie cake for another flavour  as I don't like choccie cake?

I am about to eat a nice vanilla cupcake with some fresh British raspberries. Very nice.

The physios got mum walking round ward with a zimmer frame on Friday, so that is good.   It was painful and she did feel nauseous with the pain, but at least she was determined to do it. They are trying to monitor her pain relief, so she can get mobile. It will probably be painfull for at least 3 months on movement, but it was good to see her on the move again.

wonder who will go on X factor? think there were a few who weren't so good last night, but Ella stood out for me as being great.

are you enjoying Downtown Abbey Fredo?

anyone else watching it?

I really like it, the only bits I don't like is the prison story line.

have a good evening all xxx

M

Evening All.

Great to see you all back at the same time.

Glad you Mum is managing Mollie, you should be resting up now don't forget.

Very misty here this morning, but nice after it cleared up.

It was 5deg C here overnight.

Slowly putting the Fig Tree's to bed for the winter.

Glad Ella stayed, can't believe she is 16 though.

Enjoyed SCD as well, not surprised who went.

Was invited to my lads for dinner, very nice too, O/H had bought the stuff in for a roast dinner as well, it will keep.

I gave my neighbour a couple of Puds i made from my own plums and crumble, today he gave me a big Pudding made from Figs and Rough cut Marmalade, it's a steamed Pudding.

Mind you i heated a portion up using the Microwave, very nice to.

Those are rather nice looking biscuits Frodo, i remember having those, but a while ago.

Must get to bed, work in the morning.

C.Y.L.

Hicky

Evening All.

Not had too bad a day, the Autocad Engineer is off this week, my Electrical Boss is in Spain, probably with his Brother who lives and works there.

I'm at the Service for my Ex in the morning, the Service is at a Crematorium at 10am.

Been having trouble updating the apps etc on my new phone & getting onto Facebook & Twitter at home but it works fine at work.

Have put an old BT hub in circuit to try that, it seems better anyway.

For Tea i had.

--------------------

Had a strange 5 course meal tonight.
I cooked it mind,
Course 1 - Beef & Vegetable chunky Soup

Course 2 - 2 x Vegetable Somosa's

Course 3 - 1 x Plaice Fillet, floured and fried

Course 4 - 1 x Gammon Steak

Course 5 - A Fig & chunky Marmalade Pudding
(It would have been with Cream or Custard but i've run out.)

Hicky

Hi Hicky.
Difficult morning for you tomorrow.
At least you had a hearty meal tonight. More like a medieval banquet, by the sounds of it?

Horrible day here. Foggy and drizzly all day. No work done.

Watched Classic Car Rescue on 5, and then the Terminator film.
I also recorded Prehistoric Autopsy on BBC2, and I've just watched that back.
It was fantastic, and was about Neanderthal man, with Alice Roberts. It's on for the next two nights as well.
Mind you, I'd watch a programme about pulling teeth, if it was presented by Alice Roberts.

emptybox

Evening All & Emptybox.

It went well today, had my suit from the last cremation i went to.

There was a lot at the service, she was very popular.

Nice seeing my lads, met them at the crematorium, after we went to Hoylake, a buffet was laid on, very nice.

Then i went for fuel and this afternoon made a roast dinner with Top Rump, cauliflower cheese, carrots and mash with thick dark rich gravy.

Just had half a yellow melon & another dish of plum crumble, got a Fig to finish.

I will watch that Autopsy, she looks rather nice.

Didn't get much done in the garden, just picked up more leaves.

Hicky

Good evening all

Hicky

I am glad the service for your ex went off well. Nice for your lads to see so many at the service too.

Your plum crumble sounds yummy. I think I would like that with some nice thick custard.

at your 5 course menu, the other night. Tonight's menu of yours was tame in comparison.

Emptybox

what was your menu tonight?

Mine was my fave musrhoom risotto fishcake shaped thing, (without the fish, but with the mushrooms and onion and rice in it), from Morrisons served with boiled potaotes, butternut squash, peas, followed by a vanilla cupcake and fresh raspberries.

Hope the weather was better today for you to get in your gardens.

I missed Autopsy, think I was watching Monroe. The lady in the pic is very pretty with a nice smile. Haven't seen her before.

Hi Fredo

hope your lappy is not playing up. Wonder what was on your menu too? Fresh baked bread perhaps?

Another busy day for me with a long round trip to visit mum, and one lad had to be taken to college and one to they city for drama as well, so around 100 miles travelled yesterday. Although I do hope he gets work soon, it is a good job OH is not working with all this going on.

Thankfully mum seemed a lot brighter today than she did yesterday, She said she had been in a lot of pain yesterday when she tried to walk and was teary, but was better today , and managed to walk further. The consultant had warned me that this is a very painful condition though, and that the hospital would need to monitor her pain relief.

have a good evening all xxx

M

Evening all.

Another soaking wet day here. Not raining hard, but just drizzle.

Hi Hicky. Glad the funeral wasn't too bad. And at least you got too see your lads.

Hi Mollie.

I had a Birdseye cod in tomato and rosemary sauce, with mashed potatoes and sugarsnap peas.

You are certainly doing a lot of running around at the mo. Hope your Mum makes a reasonable recovery.

I'm sure I must have mentioned Alice Roberts before? I've liked her for a while, and she presents a lot of scientific type programmes. Nice red hair too.

emptybox

Hello all animated smileys halloweenI've had a busy couple of days hope you are all well.

It sounds as though your mum may be in hospital a while Mollie I do hope they are getting her pain relief under control and that she soon starts to mend although that will take some time from what you have said I hope that is a sad face.

It's half term this coming Monday around here so the roads will be busier for you.I hope you are able to get some rest and are looking after yourself.

The adverts for IAACGMOOH keep coming on ITV I think It starts NOVEMBER 11

The Paradise isn't going down to well with me the story lines seem far fetched and the acting not too good either ...I suppose I'm comparing It to Downton Abbey which isn't really fair..take care Molliex

Hello Hicky  what a lovely photo he sure is cute putting his foot in his mouth lol .

Where do you put all that food your metabolism must be fantastic to be able to eat all that.

Sad about your ex wife Hicky and the funeral wasn't too bad for you I think It says a lot about you that you still kept friends not many people do that .

emptybox the weather here has been drizzly and Its rained and rained, what do you think about this independence  for Scotland ? to be honest I don't understand much about It but Its been on the news a bit .

you can watch repeats of Downton Abbey on Sunday afternoons.

I saw that programme advertised Prehistoric Autopsy and meant to watch It then I forgot and yes Alice Roberts is very pretty ..I watched BBC 2  a programme about the Big Bang and I didn't realise how ignorant I was about the planets.

bye for now                    animated smileys halloweenxxx

Evening.

Another horrible day here.

I preferrred the frosty weather. At least I could get some work done.

Hi Hicky. Some great pics there.

Your grandson looks cute in that pic, but he needs to be careful. One big sook and he could disappear.

Hi Frodo.

I didn't realise IAC was coming up.

I agree with you about 'The Paradise'. I'm losing interest in it.

Scottish Independence? Not really in favour of it meself.

I'm half English, so have a foot in both camps so to speak.

I am in favour of devolution, or a more federal system of regional government in the UK, but I'm not in favour of breaking up the UK.

Watched 'The Removal Men' on CH5 then 'DCI Banks'.

Now I'm about to see what Alice Roberts is saying about Lucy (Australopithecus afarensis).

ETA: Oh thanks Frodo. I'll have to look her up on twitter.

You can sometimes catch her on old episodes of Time Team as well.

I hope your mum Is improving and that all is well your way those mushroom and rice fishcakes sound good (even if there was no fish in them) veggie meals are as yummy as meat .poultry or fish ones ..in some cases they taste even better.

Evening Frodo & Everyone.

I gave all the trees etc a good spray of Bordeaux then a spray of veg oil & liquid soap and water.

It's been chilly today, have been covering the fig tree base tubs.

Have tied the branches up on 2 of them now the leaves have gone off them.

Will be covering the branches next, will use fleece then sacking, then will try weed control netting and put white fleece over it to reflect the sun.

Will go to the garden centre tomorrow, need more Bordeaux mixture.

It says snow in parts of Scotland but cold weather creeping down from the North.

Hope Mollie & her Mum are managing ok.

Hicky

Hi everyone.

Better day today. It started out misty but turned into a sunny afternoon, only spoiled by rain late on.

At least I got some work done, including some grass cutting. Probably the last grass cutting this season.

Hi Frodo. I watched Location as well, and now I'm watching Hatfields and McCoys.

I found Alice Roberts on twitter, and also found her website. I see she's got a book out. I'll have to get that.

Hi Hicky. What's this Bordeaux stuff you're spraying on your trees? You're not wasting good wine are you?

I usually give fruit trees a winter wash with 'Mortegg' , which is a tar oil wash designed to kill off the eggs of pest insects.

Hope Mollie isn't run off her feet?
