Evening.

Wow, it was a scorcher here today.
Luckily the belt for my mower came in the post before I went out, so I was able to fit it quickly and get mobile again. It was almost luxury just walking for miles behind the mower rather than having to shove the blasted thing for miles.

Glad your daughter is begining to eat again Mollie, and I hope you enjoy your son's theatre performance tonight.
Perhaps you could buy some dark glasses for your doggie, along with a doggie iPod, to distract her from the fireworks.

Hi Hicky.
That's good, that you are getting some grapes on your vine.
Glad your curry kits came OK.

Are you going to fit the dishwasher seal yourself?
I find my dishwasher cleans some stuff brilliantly, but leaves other stuff dirty that you'd think would be easy to clean.
It always leaves white residue on knives that have been used for margerine, and stains on the inside of coffee mugs, that would be easy to clean off by hand.

I suppose that's because it works by squirting hot water around, rather than by wiping the dishes?

Hi Emptybox.

Seems strange being at work today.

Glad you got the belt sorted, a lot easier for you.

The seal came on a plastic section that just screwed into the back of the washer hand tight, took 1 minute to fit.

Am wondering if there are other seals I need to replace, they aren't expensive and online you can get all the parts very easy.

I think I will have to look at the other seals and see if they need replacing, will have to strip things down a bit but nothing is bolted so it should be too hard.

I think if things aren't getting washed properly then there is a problem that needs fixing, when they are new they clean everything perfect.

I think my controller may be playing up as well and not turning the heat on all the time, I had a small frying pan on the bottom the other day with some fat in it, after the wash it was the sme as when I put it in, now if the heat came on and the water was very hot there is no way you would be left with fat on a pan.

I don't really want to spend too much on trying to sort it if I need a new one, you can get all the parts but some are pretty expensive.

Hope Mollie has a good day.

Hicky
Hi Hicky.
Cloudy here  all day, and the drizzle came on about 5pm, but I got a bit done anyway.

I think they must have got rid of the signatures again? Good jobb I didn't bother  with one after all?

No idea why your browser should have trouble with this site? Can't say I've had any problems.

I think fat is the most difficult thing for a dishwasher to get off. The water would need to be extra hot to shift it. I think that's what the white stuff that it leaves on the butter knives is. Fat from the spread. I always  wash the  fat out of my frying pans in the back kitchen sink, to avoid blocking up the kitchen sink with it. In fact I collect the fat in a pot, while it,s still hot, and dispose of it outside, to avoid putting it down the sink altogether.

Torchwood was really the only thing I watched tonight.

Good Evening Mollie & Emptybox.

It's been a dull Friday, no Sun at all.

Went yo Docs, told him the problems, has stopped me taling one med and swopped it for another.

Hope that changes things, will be happy if it does.

Went to IKEA for a few bits, got a shoe cupboard for the hall, some picture frames, a small mirror.

Had some meat balls while we were there.

Hope you had a good day at work today Emptybox.

Hope Mollie had a good day.

Was listening to a Doc talking about the local Hospital, so many people with NoroVirus that they have closed the general ward to the public.

See Here

It's very contageous too.

And it seems to be what your daughter had, maybe.

http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/N.../Pages/Symptoms.aspx

Hicky
Hi Hicky.
Hope the change of meds sorts you out?
Meatballs?? Ikea?? Were they made of wood?

Lovely day here. Started off a bit cool and cloudy, but turned into a lovely sunny day, but not too hot to work.
Worked till after 7pm to take advantage of the weather. It does mean i haven't had my supper yet though. Pork chop, potatoes and brocoli I'm cooking now.

That norovirus does sound a lot like what mollie's daughter had?  Hope Mollie and the rest of her family haven't got it now?

I got a free bluetooth keyboard and mouse for my Motorola Xoom tablet. It was part of a promotion, and I sent off for them and they arrived yesterday. The kkeyboard is great, I'm using it now, and it's much easier to use than the on-screen keyboard. It's full sized as well, so Mollie could touch type on it easily.
Only problem is the mouse was dead when it arrived. No lights or nothing, when I put the batteries in and turned it on.   However, as it's a touch-screen tablet, you          don't really need a mouse anyway, and I can't really complain as it was free.
It's only a cheap plasticky mouse anyway, and I could get a replacement from Ebay for less an a tenner. The keyboard is quite a neat one though.

Not much on TV again? Seemingly the advert for the new BB, featuring the ex-housemates, will be given it's first airing on CH5 at 9.55pm tonight.
emptybox

Evening Emptybox.

Saw the advert, 9.57 it was supposed to be.

Here the trailer, over 3 minutes long, an advert first though.

http://www.channel5.com/articl...er-behind-the-scenes

The meat balls are beef & pork, but the food is pretty cheap, and similar to Costco, non British, you get a glass and help yourself to the drinks.

A dead mouse eh, you should have fed it more.

I wonder if Mollie saw the advert?

Hicky

Hi both x

sorry haven't had chance to read or post, been really busy, aunts came to visit Thursday, and son been doing theatre.

hope you are both well, not seen any tv for few days.

going out for dinner in pub in half hour with aunts.

will catch up soon on all your news when things back to normal.

have a good weekend both. xx

M

Evening Both.

No Problem Mollie, you gotta do what a womans gotta do.

Been a glorious day here, hope you both had the same?

Oh, I see you did Emptybox.

And got a big job done, ideal that.

Built and fitted the shoe storage cabinette in the hall.

Bought some watering equipment, it will be bvetter than a hose or watering can, will take a bit of work to sort out.

I've used them before a few times so nothing new to me.

Probably need 50m of 13mm tube and I ave got 15m from one of the kits I got.

They have 30% off at the Mo, plus my 10%.

But with so many tubs to water it might take a while.

You get 1 watering time Computer with the large kit.

Evening.
Not bad day here. A bit cloudier than Saturday.

Went for my shopping then cut my own grass.

Unfortunately my jaguar has developed an alarming noise from under the bonnet. A sort of whining noise that gets worse when I turn the steering wheel. I think there must be something wrong with the power steering or something?
The car seems fine driving it though, but I'll have to get it checked out as it might be serious.
I'll phone up about it tomorrow. Bet it'll be expensive.

Hope you both had nice Sundays?
emptybox

Morning Emptybox.

That noise sounds a bit like the bearings in the pump for your steering, it's probably got a hydraulic pump, only a thought.

It was a lovely weekend here, not as Sunny yeasterday, but warm and no wind.

Got 75% of my plants onto the automatic watering, doing it in sections, it's in 4 area's really.

Have run a main line of 13mm pipe, then tee off with a 13 to 4mm tee piece, then run in 4mm to the first of say 5 plants and tee off to each putting a small spray nozzle in each end.

I've got 2 distributing controllers, one is just for a time period, the other you can set a watering program.

I've just got it on a 2min spray every 6 hours.

Had a nice BBQ yesterday, my lads and the gang were round with their babies.

Not a lot on TV last night, watched some of Dragons Den, the new Lady., wow, she a tough cookie.

Hope Mollie had a good weekend.

Hicky
Hi Hicky.
You've certainly got a bit of a job on, with that watering system?
Glad you enjoyed your family barby yesterday.

My car does have an hydraulic power steering system, and when I looked in the reservoir this morning, it was almost empty, and there was oil underneath the car, so it's been leaking out somewhere.
I was talking to my Brother last night, and he said that might be the cause of the noise.

I took the van across to the garage after lunch, then came back with one of their guys, and he topped up the reservoir with the correct fluid, then drove the car back to see where the leak was, and hopefullly to fix it. As soon as he'd topped up the fluid, the noise disappeared.
I haven't heard anything from them yet,, but I guess if it's the pump that's failed, then that could be expensive.

Just to top off my day, I had to have a  slow puncture mended in my van, and my mower is coughing and spluttering a bit. I think a new air filter should cure that though.

Still, I got a couple of jobs done despite all the difficulties.

Not much on telly again?
Wonder if Mollie is free to roam the world wide web yet?
emptybox

Evening Emptybox.

If you lost the power steering fluid you wouldn't be able to steer, as it's controlled by the fluid.

If you had lost the oil from the pump it may fail.

It could effect the steering if the level was too low, but as long as it stayed in the pump it should be ok.

I got some more 4mm tee pieces to finish off the watering, but as I got home the heavens opened.

When the rain stopped I went in the garden and my watering system came on for 2 minutes., as it does every 6 hours.

If the weather is ok tomorrow I will sort it all out.

Hope Mollie is ok.

There's talk about Pam Anderson for CBB now.

Hicky
Last edited by Hicky
Yeah, I guess there must have been enough fluid left to allow it to steer.  Hopefully it won't be the pump, but just a pipe.

It's been pouring with rain here this evening. Not sure what the forecast is?

I presume Mollie still has her visitors there?

I'm only just now starting to get a bit of interest on who might be in CBB. Pamela Anderson might be fun.
emptybox

Hi Emptybox.

Hope your steering is ok, it comes in handy.

Pretty Dull here, got soaked testing some mini sprinklers for my veg plot.

Nearly finished the watering system, run out of gear again, will have to wait till Friday.

Pammy was in the paper.

Got a link here somewhere.

----------

The former Baywatch actress – who nearly appeared in the Channel 4 programme last year before pulling out at the last minute when ex-husband Tommy Lee refused to go in as well – revealed she will not put on an act in the UK house when the show returns on Channel 5 later this month.

She said: 'I am very excited about the show. I will just be myself and have fun with the contestants in the house.'

Good afternoon both xx

still haven't had chance to read back yet, but just to let you know I will be back soon.

Visitors now gone.

But am still really busy, had lovely few days with my aunts, we took them lovely walks to beaches, cliffs and gardens, and enjoyed a nice meal out at country pub and fish and chips on seafront. They really enjoyed sons play too. Daughter was not well enough to go on the Wednesay, but was fine by the Friday,s so we saw it twice on the Friday.. all 6 hours of it.
All went well for the play, to a sell out audience, so that was good. Now trying to catch up.
Behind VAT wise, and washing and tidying etc.

Plus we are viewing a house tonight.

hate living here..

hope you have a good day x

very hot here today.

M
Been very wet here today.
There's a hint of blue sky now, but everything is soaked.

Did you manage to water yourself Hicky, with your sprinkler system?
Thanks for the Pam Anderson link.

Hi Mollie. Nice to see you back.
Glad you had a good time with your aunts, and that your son's play was a success. There's no way I could sit in a theatre for 6 hours without snoozing, no matter how good the production.

You're not thinking of moving again already are you?   Has Mr Next-door been nasty again?
Mind you, if you do want to go, probably better to go now, before you are completely settled?

I've done a big pile of ironing, but it's a bit too early to do last month's paperwork. I work to the 5th of a month, so the wet weather has come a few days too early for me.

I'll probably watch Undercover Boss tonight, and record The Hour, which is on at the same time. I've been watching that because I like Romola Garai, but it's a bit slow really.
emptybox

Evening Mollie & Emptybox.

You have been busy Mollie, thats a lot for you to be doing, your supposed to be taking it easy.

Glad your daughter is a lot better.

Saw the play twice, wow, bet your Lad was chuffed?

Good luck with the house tonight.

I did get a bit wet again, adjusting sprinklers again, need to split the sets of drip heads so you only have about 3 from one tee off branch.

Otherise some drips/sprays hog the water and others down the line suffer.

The parts I need are pretty cheap really so will sort them Friday.

Undercover Boss was ok, now watching Kitchen Nightmares.

Work tomorrow.

Hicky
Hi Hicky.

Lovely day here. Quite hot and sunny. I got quite a lot done anyway.

Pity you had email trouble at work Hicky. Hope it wasn't too hot for you, I heard on the redio that it was a heatwave down south.

Still no word about my car. I'll have to ring up if I don't hear soon.

I didn't watch The Code, I watched 24 Hours in A&E instead.
emptybox

Good morning both

still catching up, so only got as far as getting this site on my lappy yesterday.

Just wanted to let you both know incase you dont already that at 12.10, Chantelle and Alex are doing their first interview on This Morning as a couple.

Can't wait. I think and hope that Alex was such a nice chap in CBB, that he will be good for Chantelle.

if you don't catch it, it should be on the This Morning site later.

will call back later and read back when I have done a few things I have to do.

have a good day. x

M

Afternoon Mollie & Emptybox.

The Air-Con was struggling to get the temperature in the office yesterday down to 23deg.

I saw Alex & Chantelle on ITV1+1, they seem fine together, Chantelle is 28 wow.

It's hard to say who is going in CBB, lots of surprises by the looks of it.

Went to Gordale and had brekkie this morning, B&Q have run out of the 4mm tube I wanted, went to a few other places and got the last 10m roll from another local garden centre.

Boss rang me at 8.30 this morning asking where I was, I said at home, he said you were supposed to come to work today, he said he had asked me yesterday afternoon, never heard him anyway.

He said well come in tomorrow then, that's Friday.

Oh well.

Hicky

Hi both x

Emptybox

What a shame about your car, hope you have heard about it by now, and that it is not bad news money wise.

yes, we want to move again. Neighbour very unpleasant and annoying character, and place so boring for us and a young family, too far out, even though the animals are lovely. Spending a fortune on petrol driving family everywhere, it is back to be closer to town for us, but not behind a council depot this time. Not looking forward to the physical move, but am ready to move on. Good thing about renting, if you don't like, you can move on.

Saw one place today, but built right onto trainline and next to a station. Viewing one tommorrow and one Saturday. Most of them are empty houses that can't sell, (in other words sellers won't price low enough to sell), so they are becoming reluctant landlords.

I see stock markets taking a pounding again today. To be honest, with all this debt around,  I am surprised they have lasted this long before the big drop. Sounds like Italy is the next one to go bust. How I wish I had put all our house deposit into those nice gold coins.

Hicky

fancy your boss getting your work days mixed up. Oh well as long as you get paid for the days you work, guess it doesn't matter which days they are, does it? Good job your OH had a few bob hanging around to lend you.

Yes I was surprised that Chantelle is 28 now, that went quick. I thought her and Alex looked happy enough together, and as they say, they both have a lot of shared experiences. Let's hope it works out for them. Thanks for the BB stuff, I actually saw the ad on C5 last night.

Hope it is not too hot for you in the office tommorrow. It does seem to of cooled a bit here today, thank goodness , really hard to sleep in the heat recently. Had some rain today today.

what did you watch on tv tonight?   Bit boring, I thought.

Goodnight both x

M
Evening Hicky and Mollie.

Very wet here today so no work.
No sign of the car, I drove past the garage, but it was just sitting outside. I expect they are waiting for parts, which means it's likely to be expensive.
Also now the van is making funny noises. Hopefully it won't be anything serious, but it's unbelievable that everything is going wrong at once.
Getting behind on the work now as well, so I can't afford to be without the van.

It's a pity that house hasn't worked out for you Mollie, after all the hassle with the telephone etc.
Better luck with your next one.

Yes, I'm kicking myself for not going into gold. Especially after the market fall today. Just hope things stabilise soon, but I'm not hopeful.

Hi Hicky.
Pity the work mix up means you have to work tomorrow. Mind you, you got today off instead.

Watched the Amy Winehouse tribute on Channel 5. I didn't realize that she was actually quite attractive before the horrible beehive and tattoos and skinnyness. Great singer in her prime as well.

Good morning both

Emptybox

oh no, sorry to hear you are getting troubles with the van now . I hope it is not serious, I know how you must have it for work reasons. I was tempted to buy a bit more gold today, because we had a brief dip yesterday. But I see it is going up again today. Not sure whether to or not now. And there isn't much around to buy at the moment either.Yes Amy was a great singer, haven't seen pics of her pre beehive and tattoos time  though.

HIcky

hope you are not too busy at work today, and that the office is not too hot.

Dry and sunny today here so far, so time to get a few washloads out today.

OH on half day, so house viewing today, then we are off to see Grease with Jason Donovan in Cardiff starting 5.30pm.

hope you both have a good day. x

M

another CBB story..

Speaker's wife....  ... I heard them say on tv this does not look very professional for her hubby in such a high brow position in parliment, but she has worked in media so knows what she is going because she likes to be in the media spotlight.

This might be rather distasteful professionaaly,  but from a viewers point of view, as long as the selection makes for interesting HM's , that is what matters.

M

Eveniong Mollie & Emptybox.

Thats 3 days this week as well now, oh well.

Might have to work more that that after next week as they are all starting having holidays.

Hope you car & van are ok Emptybox, it can be an expensive do.

Only 13 left till CBB.

Been adjusting the sprinklers on my auto watering system but there are so many, as I turn 1 down I then need to go and adjust all the others.

Found out that the 6mm od 4mm ID nylon tube for air we use at work is the same size as the tube I'm having trouble getting.

I wasn't too busy today, they let me get away at 2pm.

Hicky

Hi Mollie and Hicky.

Lovely day here, so i got a lot done. Still need to work tomorrow though, but the forecast isn't good.

I rang up about the car this afternoon, but it'll not be ready till next week. It was only the apprentice that answered, so he didn't know why there was a delay.

I'm supposed to be going over to see my brother on Sunday, so i shall have to take the van, even though it's making a noise. I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed that it doesn't conk out.
The noise is a sort of high pitched noise when you press the accelerator. It's not very loud. Might be belts or something?

I'll take my sat-nav, so i can tell the AA where I am, when i break down.

Another horrible day on the stock market.

Mollie. Hope you get somewhere with your house hunting. And hope you enjoy your musical.

Sally Bercow might be fun for CBB? On the otherhand, she might be carp?

Hi Hicky. One consolation of having more time at work. It gives you more time to snaffle that tubing.

Afternoon guys.
Pouring with rain here so no work today.

It was dry up till about 11am, but I decided to take the van across to the garage to see if they could diagnose the noise, before my trek tomorrow. However it was all shut up. I thought all garages worked on a Saturday morning?
Anyway, I went to the supermarket while I was in town, so the trip wasn't wasted.

I'll just have to take my chances tomorrow. I'll take a flask as well, just in case.

Think I'll watch this ronnie corbet thing on ITV at 9pm.

Have a good weekend.
emptybox

Hi Emptybox.

Most squeels on startup are a belt loose on the alternator, but if it's still there after a minute then it may be another belt.

You shouldn't travel anywhere if the vehicles isn't ok really.

Some garages are open Saturday, some just do MOT's, a lot stay shut.

Not very nice here today, went to Costco and got a few things to eat.

Did a bit more in the garden, just about finished the watering system for now.

The Figs are coming on fine, plenty of growth going on.

Been making Meringue, got so many eggs, got 32 over and have a new box of 5 dozen.

Hope Mollie had a good day.

Hope you have a good Journey tomorrow Emptybox.

Just remembered, My lad in Oz is having a Holiday in Bali, all in.

Found a Video of him singing on Youtube.

Think there's a few others as well.

Good evening both

Emptybox

I hope your van gets you to your brothers ok tommorrow, and hope you are not too worried about the journey to have an enjoyable day. What a shame you wasted your journey to the garage. Yes I too am surprised they were closed on a Saturday morning, what a shame. Glad you at least got a good day yesterday to catch up a little work wise. Thanks for the Amy pic, she does look much better pre behive I think. Hope you hear Monday about your car, it has been dragging on too long now.

Hicky

Glad to hear you have got your watering system sorted and that the figs are doing well.

that is a lot of eggs you have got. Did the merigue come out well, I love lemon merinque.

Hope your lad has a good holiday in Bali. Will watch the tube you posted of him singing.

We found a house we liked yesterday, now have to see if the LL will take our lower offer, because we won't pay full asking price.

Had a busy day again... it is so good that I can now do much more without feeling exhausted, and I just can't believe how this throat problem has virtually cured my bad back, which was real bad, I wouldn't of gone anywhere without my extra strong pain killers for it. Even the surgeon was surprised about this.

So today me and OH went early to asda for brekkie and quick shop. Then lunch time we viewed house, then in the afternoon we went to Cardiff for a quick shop. I bought a nice black blouse covered in white stars.   ,,,and some clothes for my lads who hate shopping, so I have to guess what will fit them. ..

Nearly forgot Grease was very enjoyable, but very short compared to most musicals, in fact a good hour shorter than my lads King and I. I got mixed up and it is Jason Donovan who we see in a few weeks in Sound of music, but it was Robin Cousins we saw in Grease last night, He had a good singing voice.

Not much on tv tonight, I too watched that Ronnie Corbett show.

have a good Sunday both. x

Fingers crossed the van holds out.

M
Hi Hicky.
Yes it's unfortunate that it's this weekend that I'm visiting my Brother, and my van is making a noise. I don't want to postpone my visit, but I'll play it by ear. The first hint of trouble and I'll turn back. There's no hint of trouble with engine though, although if it's a belt I suppose it could just snap.

That's an interesting video your lad made. He's a good singer lying down. He'd probably be even better standing up.
Did he make those in Australia?

Hope your meringues turn out OK. I suppose it's a good way of using up spare eggs?
emptybox
Hi mollie.

Glad you've found a likely house.
Any amount you can negotiate off the rent would be helpful. Hope the LL is co-operative.

Wonder why your throat op has cured your bad back? I suppose it must have been a side effect of your condition. Anyway, that's really good that you can do more energetic stuff now.

Robin Cousins? was it Grease On Ice? Glad you enjoyed it anyway.

Hopefully I'll be back tomorrow night........but you never know.
emptybox

Evening Mollie & Emptybox.

Not been very good today, won't bother with the watering, turned it off.

It's been a miserable day really, slight rain, not a lot of Sun.

The Meringue doesn't seem right, edible, not sure what's up, the whisking went ok,

Glad your back has gone a lot better, you don't realise they way things interlink.

Glad you enjoyed your brekki in Asda.

Hope the house hunting goes ok.

Hope you trip went ok emptybox,

My lad made the video while in the outback stuck in a company caravan on the 2 week job that he was project manager on, it was for a new iron ore mine.

There was nowhere to go because he had flown for 2 hours to reach the place from Perth.

Think I need more practice with the Meringue, it's not so easy.

Hicky
