Hi Mollie & Emptybox.

Between myself and my neighbour we have quite a lot of food growing this year.

Been eating pea's all day.

The Beets were lovely.

Took a few pics of the garden, put them on Facebook but I'll see if I can put them on here as well.

It's been a great day, all the babies and parents came, had a great time in the garden.

Hi Hicky.
You've certainly got a fantastic garden now, after all your hard work.
I planted some peas last year, but the rabbits ate them all before they had a chance to get started, so I didn't bother planting any this year.
I suppose I could put wire netting all round the garden, to keep them out, but it would be a lot of work, for a rented house.

A really lovely day here. Sunny and warm. I cut my grass earlier, but am watching the tennis now.
It's benn a very good match.

Hope you are having a nice weekend Mollie?
emptybox

Hi Emptybox.

Ti's been a glorious day here, Sunny and 20 deg.

The garden has come on great, the trees/etc are very young so will need a couple of years to settle down.

Don't have problems with Rabits so the pea's have had every chance.

Been eating loads from the pod.

There's quite a few apples on, I keep taking the weekest off as I don't want to leave too many, probably about 12 left, not sure if I should leave them all on.

A couple of the vines have a lot of grape bunches on, very small, just flowering really.

Don't know if I will get any fruit this year or not yet.

I was late putting the spuds in, don't think it matters though.

Have been earthing them up.

Might need to do them again.

You can see how big the streetlamp is, it comes on as it starts getting dark, the timer is set from 6pm till midnight.

So the dusk sensor turns it on and the timer turns it off.

Hope Mollie has had a good day?

Hicky

Good evening all

Hicky

well that garden looks so good, I reckon you could win Garden of the Year if you put in for it. Thanks for sharing the lovely pics. That streetlamp of yours looks so impressive. How nice that you share your veg with your neighbour.  Can me and Emptybox move in next door too please?

Emptybox , I reckon you are right, Hicky needs to get paid quick before B and Q goes bust without him.

Emptybox

are you now a Lidl convert? Sometimes I find some good weekly bargains down the centre of their isles.

Glad to hear you have both been getting all the good weather too.

We have been out and about most of the weekend as the weather has been so nice. Yesterday we had a day out in weston super mare, I am just so glad I coped well health wise, with a full day out, at last. We were out for about 11 hours in all with the drive (about hour and half).  We walked miles mostly down the seafront and of course I had to eat chips, mini do-nut and have an ice cream on the pier. whilst we were there.
Today me and OH went for brekkie, then to our local seaside whilst son was doing drama in the afternoon. It was boiling hot, crowded with people enjoying the sun, and so I had to have a Thorntons ice lolly.
The little dogie is exhausted, she stayed home with my mum when we went to wsm, because we thought it would be too much for her, but she loved going to the seaside today.  OH has  trimmed her fur when we got back, so she looks neater andso  it must feel cooler for her.

Hope you have both had a good day.

goodnight xxx

M
Hi Mollie.
Glad you enjoyed your day in Weston.
Seems like it's any excuse for an ice cream with you?

Was your dog grateful for her shearing?

I'm not sure I'm a Lidl convert, but it's definitely much cheaper.
Trouble is they don't have Kellog's cornflakes, which I like for my breakfast. And they don't have Coca-cola, only pepsi or Freeway cola.
I got my current pair of safety boots from their centre aisle about 18 months ago, and they've been very good, and only ÂĢ18.

I had a look at that Golden Ticket thing when Hicky posted the link, but I'm not the slightest interested in going into Big Brother.
emptybox

Morning Mollie & Emptybox.

Happy Monday again.

Garden of the year eh.

It's great walking around it, love the slate, so nice to walk on.

The streetlamp looks great lit up as well.

It comes on every night, lights the garden up good as well.

Sounds like you had a good weekend Mollie, you can't beat the seafront, my fave place.

Always keep a stock of icecreams and lollies in the freezer, had a few yesterday.

Had my lads round with the babies, tey are coming on fine.

That sounds a good price Emptybox, ÂĢ18 for Safety Boots, wow.

It could be a busy day today, end of 2nd vat quarter.

Catch you later, forecast not so good after today till Sunday.

Hicky

Good evening both xx

Hicky

Yes I forgot to say how lovely I thought the slate looked in the Garden of the Year.  I like slate. My OH's father used to work for the slate min in North Wales, it is still open up there.

You need a good stock of ice lollie for when all those youngsters come to visit, don't you? How sweet that you got to see both little babes again.

Hope you got the vat done at work ok.

The vat stuff is driving me round the bend... yet again they wrote to us about our overpayment to our OLD address, despite the fact OH and I spent half an hour on the phone to them trying to change it, followed by our accountant also spending half hour on the phone to them, and they still don't change it. Lucky I gave the postie a nice Christmas bonus last year, so we got the letter at all. The letter I did get and open from the vat people sent to my new address, turns out to be for my landlord's VAT refund... he too had tried to change his address, and they had ignored it.

Emptybox

I too am not sure about the food choice at Lidl, can be a bit limited, but glad you made use of the centre isle bargains for your boots. I find the centre isle stuff really good quality for the price. As you know it changes a couple of times a week, so is worth checking now and again. I got a good pair of walking boots a couple of years ago for ÂĢ10.

Oh and their strawberry white choc crunch ice lollies are delicious, I should know , I just ate one.

No I too do not fancy going into the BB house. The lack of food wouldn't bother me, because I am always dieting and am happy with a potatoe and beans, but I would not be able to cope with the dirty bathroom, not to mention all those cameras seeing you with no make up.

It was another hot sunny day here today, shame it is not going to last according to the forecast.

Hope you have both had a good day. xx

.

M
Evening.
Another lovely day, but as you say Mollie,  the rain is set to come in by tomorrow evening.
I got a lot of work done toaday, and hopefully I'll get a bit done tomorrow, because it doesn't look like anything will get done on Wednesday?

How annoying that the VAT bods keep sending things to your old address Mollie.
Have you looked into paying to have your mail redirected to your new address for a few months, till things sort themselves out? I've no idea how much that would cozt though?
emptybox

Evening Mollie & Emptybox.

I sorted the vat, had a lot of other work to do as well.

Loads of invoicing, will have to do that Wednesday.

It's always a problem address changes.

It's been another hot Sunny day, not the same when your at work.

It looks like rain for the rest of the week.

Not good.

Glad you were able to get some work done Emptybox.

I've put a metal cage around my 2 Figs, they have changed colour to brown, and gone pretty soft.

Want to stop the birds attacking them.

Been watchig The Restaurant Inspector', not a lot on.

Hicky

Good evening both xx

HIcky

what lovely family pics. Your lads look so alike in the piccies, and what a co-incidence they both have babes around the same age. How cute the babes look in their sun hats. Good to see both you and your OH got in a pic each.   I bet it takes a lot of food when all your family visit now.

Hope these figs come on well and those birds keep well away now you have made the cage.

Emptybox

hope the weather didn't stop your work all day today. It was showery here today, but some dry weather inbetween.

Yes we did get the post redirected for each of the members of our family, but the trouble is the vat people do not put our names on, only the company name,so that doesn't get re-directed. I never thought we would have this trouble just getting them to simply change the address though.

OH gone to look at a Ford Galaxy tonight, We haven't test driven one yet, but it looks big enough for us.

Son is at the theatre rehearsing tonight.

His theatre was on Four Rooms tonight because one of the b and b's was based in the same seaside town.

Had a bit of a health scare last night.

I peeled a butternut squash last night. It was difficult to peel. Just after, the base of my thumb went blue, at first i thought I had lent on print from newspaper and tried twice to wash it off. It wouldn't go, then realised it was spreading to the base of my other thumb, and up my arm, till the whole underside of my left arm was blue. OH was shocked when he came home, and said he would take me to A and E. I said to leave it and see if it went. I had shower and waited bit and it gradually faded. So had it about 2 and half hours in all.Seems fine now though. Have just heard I have appoitment next month with heamatologist, so will mention it to him.  No sign of it today, thank goodness.

Are you watching Four Rooms tonight Emptybox?  some interesting items again. Those 2 brothers got too greedy for their own good though.

have a good evening both x

M

Evening Mollie.

Figs should be ok now, I hope.

Rained today so never got any work done.

Went for a Carvery tonight, saved cooking.

Thats a bother about your mail.

One of my bosses has a Galaxy for his gang, I've been in it many times.

That was strange about your blue thumb and arm, you need to know what would cause that.

Watching 'Undercover Boss', sexy .

Work tomorrow, going to be a bit busy as well.

Hicky
Evening.
Not too bad weatherwise. A few spits and spots, but nothing that stopped my work. It's supposed to be very wet tomorrow though. I don't mind really, as I'm well up to date, and could do with a day doing the accounts etc. It won't suit if it continues for more than one day though.

That sounds strange and worrying about your blue arm Mollie. Do you bruise easily?
Still, if it was bruising it wouldn't have gone so quickly? Probably is connected to a blood thing? Be worth asking about it anyway.

I've recorded four rooms, and will catch it later. That's interesting that it filmed near your son's theatre Mollie.
I was watching Undercover boss as well, although I'm far too innocent to know what all that stuff they were selling was for.

Hi Hicky. Pity you had rain today.
I like how in the 2 photos everybody else has more or less the same pose, and only youand your OH is different. You must have had a very swift change-over?
emptybox

Morning Mollie & Emptybox.

A quick post before it gets busy.

Been here since 6am, takes so long to sort the emails out from yesterday, hard to tell whats been printed or acted upon so I reprint them.

Love Undercover Boss, even when it was from the US it was always good.

Glad your up to date with your work Emptybox, thats the best way to be.

I thought Bruises went red, not sure what Blue means.

White can be seen as Blue, if you take some of the red away, your blood is made up of red and white corpuscles isn't it?

We did do a quick changeover before the kids got restless.

Hicky

Good morning both

Weather changable here today, cloudy , then drizzle , then sun.

Hicky

at the quick photo changeover, yes kids do tend to move on if you aren't quick at photo time. Hope you manage to plough through all that work ok today.

Shame it was too wet for you to get anything done yesterday, a good day for you to enjoy visiting the carvary then.

Emptybox

Glad you are up to date garden wise, so a wet day means you can just catch up on the paperwork. Hope it is dry again tommorrow though so you can get out .

Yes I do bruise easy and hosptial thinks that is related to the excessive bleeding I got, but this blue thing as you say was not like a bruise because it went too quickly. After my op I was black and blue for weeks from post op bleeding, so I will need to ask the specialist about this when I next go.

Hope to take dog out soon inbetween the showers.

have a good day both.xx

The Apprentice tonight.

Did you know that a new series of Britains Next Top Model started on monday?  I caught up with the repeat last night. It will probably be repeated again.

Four Rooms was really good this week.
I've recorded four rooms, and will catch it later. That's interesting that it filmed near your son's theatre Mollie.

M

Afternoon Mollie.

Still ploughing through the work, loads of invoicing to do, will take all day probably.

Got some strong velcro from work, thinking of using it instead of hinges on my tree snow/rain covers, I could staple it on with my electric stapler and be able to seperate the section easy.

Looking forward to the Apprentice tonight, will look into that BNTM on Mondays

Take an umbrella with you if you go out, don't want to get soaked.

Back to work.

Hicky
Afternoon.
It's been a wet morning here, but it's a bit drier now.
I haven't got my accounts done yet, I've been on the computer.

Hope you are not too busy today Hicky, and hope you get your dog walk Mollie?

Blood in the arteries is red because it is carrying oxygen, but blood in the veins is de-oxygenated and is more a bluey colour.
Mollie, it's possible that you broke a vein in your thumb, while you were peeling the fruit, and the blood ran into your arm and then dissipated? Still worth asking about it though.

Looking forward to The apprentice.
emptybox

Evening Emptybox.

Will have rain here till the weekend at least.

Didn't have a lot of spare time today.

If bood escaped from arteries or veins it goes black, doesn't flow anywhere, it stays put, same as a bruise.

All will no doubt be revealed.

I won ÂĢ2.80 on the Friday Euro Lottery, made 80p.

Watching Top Gear, then The Apprentice.

Hope Mollie had a good day.

Hicky

Evening.

Blimey! That was a nerve jangling Apprentice?
I thought for a moment that lovely Helen was going to go, but it was Melody instead.
TBH I wish Lord Sugar had sacked wet Tom, with his horrible stubbly face.

Also I didn't quite understand why Lord Sugar was so annoyed with the winning team, and even fined them, for not buying more stock?  They made the most money, and could easily have bought more stock the following morning if they'd been carrying on with the business?

I don't want to answer for Mollie about the blood Hicky, but remember she has said she has a problem with her blood not clotting properly, which may be why it flowed from the vein rather than clotting? (if that's what happened).

Well done for your Euro Millions win Hicky. They have some silly wins on that. I've won ÂĢ6.20 once.

emptybox

Evening Emptybox.

That was good, don't think any of them really understand business at all, wouldn't have any of them.

Should sack the lot, hopeless.

He was annoyed with the winning team because they just don't know what they are doing.

Think he wishes they had lost.

I know what you are saying about Mollie's blood not clotting, but if it comes out of veins never heard of it going back in again.

There's always another day for the lottery.

Hicky

Evening Mollie & Emptybox.

Not as bad today as I thought it would be.

Just eaten a Fig off the tree, never thought I would ever be doing that.

And even more exciting, it's got some growth emerging, wow, can't wait to see that.

My Nectarines are as big as eggs, wow, Peaches are as big as a plumb.

Grapes are still very small, hope they can catch up.

There's a cople of programs of interest to me tonight.

7.30 C5 How do they do it, Robots building cars, of course I know anyway.

8.00 ITV2 AGT

9.00 BBC1 The Apprentice: The Final Five (new)

10.00 C5 Candy Bar Girls.

Went to The Hungry Horse for Tea.

Chicken wing starter and a curry for afters.

Hicky

Good evening all

Hicky

glad you enjoyed your Hungry Horse.

Well done with your figs, sounds like the rest of your fruit is doing well too. Hopefully the grapes will catch up later. I guess 80p profit is better than nothing. Hope it didn't take you too long to decide how to spend it.

Emptybox

what a naughty boy you are sciving on the computer instead of doing your accounts yesterday. Hope you caught up today if it was another wet one.Or was it dry enough to get out in the gardens?

Yes I too got a bit worried on the Apprentice, just did not want to see nice girl Helen going. The one that went was too much of a mouthpiece, she got on my nerves, so didn't mind her going, not that I am keen on Tom either though.

I am guessing you are right about the blood thing Emptybox. I think what Hicky said should of happened but because I have this problem, as you say, it didn't clot and carried on coming ou of the vein. I am pretty sure I did burst a vein in my thumb originally because I put a lot of pressure on my thumb cutting this butternut squash, and thought at first I would get a bruise. But was shocked how the blue spread and spread, it was very obvious, and weird, then just faded. After my op the internal bleeding was different, more like huge areas of bruising, and turned darker and faded over a few weeks. I am not going to the GP's to ask them about this because I bet they won't know, good job I am seeing the blood specialist soon.

I have recorded the Final Five to watch soon.

Think I will give the Candy Bar girls a miss though Hicky.

Family have gone out to see Jekyll and Hyde with Marti Pellow as lead part, sounded a bit scary for me, so I stayed home. House is too quiet and weird right now,

have a good evening xx

M
Hi Mollie and Hicky.
Looks like your long post turned up Mollie, but I think this site has been troublesome allday.

It was showery here. I didn't get any work done because everytime I thought of going out the rain came on again.
I got a huge pile of ironing finished.

Your fruit sounds like it's coming on grand Hicky. :cool;
Hope you enjoyed your meal out?

Mollie, yes it's probably best to wait to speak to the specialist about your problem.
How funny that you thought Jekyl and Hyde would be too scary, but now you find the house a bit eerie.

I downloaded some albums from Amazon, but unfortunately it insists you install an MP3 downloader first, and that went wrong some how and stopped Windows Media Player from working properly until I uninstalled the software. Luckilythe albums had already downloaded OK, but I doubt I'll be using Amazon for that again.
I usually use Play.com, which is a wee bit more expensive, but you don't need to install any extra software, so works without any problems.
emptybox

Hi Mollie.

Your post is fine, you didn't lose it.

Chuffed about the Fig Tree.

Not sure who I see as winning on the Apprentice, they all seem to have one problem or anoother, non stand out yet.

I mentioned about your blue spreading on your thumb/arm O/H said it was a trapped vein but it got released thats why it cleared up quick.

If it burst it wouldn't have cleared, same as a bruise.

I enjoyed the Candy Bar Girls, a bit of pole dancing as well.

One of the BB girls was in it as well.

Hicky

Evening Mollie & Emptybox.

A miserable day here, dull and some rain, no Sun/

Did a bit of work using my summer house.

Stapled some Velcro onto the sections of rain shelters I making for the tree's.

The Electric Stapler works fine.

Got the Sander Mouse back from repair, it's brand new.

Will be able to sand some of the deck items that are waiting for it.

Another of my Lads is coming tomorrow with his GF and Daughter, my other 2 lads are coming as well with loads of little ones.

Hoping for some good weather, better than today anyway.

Hicky

Good evening all

how strange that my lost posts weren't lost at all, but turned up. When I pressed submit, everything disappeared and an error report for this site turned up.

Hicky

Glad you enjoyed Candy Girls. Which BB girl was on it? Iinteresting what your OH said about it being a trapped vein doing that, I  will ask the blood specialist that and why I got it when I see him soon.

Glad you are pleased with your sander and stapler so was able to work in your garden. Hope the weather is nice and dry for all your visitors coming tommororw.   I think the forecast is quite good for tommorrow, isn't it?

Emptybox

hope you got outdoors today, after having to stay indoors for a couple of days with the rain. It was torrential rain this morning, but improved by afternoon. My daughter said she has dowloaded stuff from Amazon without the media player problem, so do you think it might be conflict with some other software you have on your pc? (don't really know what I am talking about, but it is what my family told me when I told them of your problem).

Went to Cardiff today and had my fave vanilla toffee latte. Bought a few new clothes from Primark sale, and some new leather sandals with purple jewels on them reduced to ÂĢ6.   OH bought son new guitar, he is dead pleased with it. He enjoys learning the guitar.

You play guitar don't you Emptybox?

Hope you both have a good evening. xx

Enjoyed watching "8 out of 10 cats" and Corrie tonight.

M

Evening Mollie.

It was Lady Sov that was on Candy Girls, Louise her real name is but doesn't use it.

Haven't used the sander yet with the weather being bad, but it's a new one,

The Stapler is brill, you can use brads in it as well.

The Forecast isn't too bad, will be great if it's a good day.

Glad you enjoyed your Vanilla toffee Latte.

And great deals on the clothes.

Great for your lad getting a new Guitar.

My lad in Oz taught himself to play, I wanted to sed him to lessons but he preffered to teach himself.

Hope Emptybox had a good day, it probably rained same as here.

Watched Gardeners World and AGT.

Meant to watch C5 at 8pm Danger: Diggers at Work.

Will have to get it off the site later.

Watching Alan Carr.

Hicky
Evening guys.
It was actually mostly dry here. A few spits and spots, but I got some work done anyway.
I'll have to do some work tomorrow if it's dry, but the forecast for here's not good.

That's good that you got a new sander out of them Hicky. Can't be bad?

I made a thread on the DS Computer & Networks forum, about my problem with the Amazon MP3 Downloader, and although i didn't getmany replies, I think the problem was caused by me changing the default download folder, and deleting the old one. The notes for the program says you can change the download folder, but I think that's what sscuppered it. Not sure if I'll give it another try or not?

I caught a little of that Candy Girls, and Shabby fromm BB was on it as well.

Glad you had a productive visit to Cardiff mollie.
Yes I have guitars, but I would never claim that I could play them. I twiddle about a bit though.
emptybox

Good Evening Emptybox.

It was a lovely day here.

Had 3 of my Lads round with their o/H's and children.

All the food laid on, it was great.

8 Adults and 6 children.

Am very pleased with the sander, have lots to do with it.

Changing a default download folder could give problems unless you know it's ok to do it.

Not sure if it was a good idea to delete the default folder.

I got Lady Sov mixed up with Shabby, enjoyed Candy Girls.

Hope Mollie had a good day.

Hicky

Good evening both

Turned out not too bad as the day went on, but started with really heavy torrential rain, had to do a runner into Asda this morning.   Had a nice brekkie there though today, was pleased they have added fried potatoes to the menu.

Hicky

what a big crowd you have had round today. I cam imagine you would need a lot of food for them all.

Glad to hear you are well pleased with the new sander.

I remember Shabby, but didn't like her much too stroppy and mouthy for me.

Your lad did well to teach himself guitar Hicky.

Emptybox..

I bet you play guitar better than you think you do.

Glad you have had some dry spells to catch up gardening wise.

Hope the Amazon music works ok if you try it again.

Nearly bed time, think I will have a quick read of my mags again tonight in bed.

goodnight both

xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Didn't get any rain today, forecast said no rain as well.

Fried Potatoes eh in Asda, is that Sautayed?

We did lay on a lot of food, 2 x 6ft tables full of food, but wanted plenty for them all.

Shabby hasn't changed, still hard to get on with I imagine.

I thought my lad could play the Guitar pretty good, have to ask him if he still plays or is still learning.

He's talking of getting his own place out there.

Saltfish for Brekki, this is from one of the new 400g packs.

Have ordered some packs of 250g skinless & Boneless from another place, still from the same fish merchant, Cawoods of Grimsby.ÂĢ2.65 but it's over ÂĢ8 postage/packing.

Just wanted to try it, I seem to get too many of the pieces of fish in the others with too many bones or too thin to be any good.

Not much on TV tonight just been switching around.

Hicky

Evening.
Just a quick post before bed.

Horrible day here. Heavy thunder showers all day really. A couple of sunny breaks, but not enough to do anything.

I was going to the supermarket but changed my mind cos i thought I would get soaked loading the car. I'll go tomorrow instead.

Glad you got good weather for your family get together Hicky.

I'm a bit feart to try the Amazon service again, because it wouldn't let me buy an MP3 when I tried it last. Not sure what it would do now I've uninstalled the utility?
Hopefully the rest of my Amazon account will be OK because i buy a lot of stuff from them. Just have to see next time I want something?

My DVD of Anuvahood arrived today (the film Aisleyne is in), so i was watching it this evening.
It's actually quite a funny film. Ash is only in it for about 10 minutes, but she's good at the little bit she has. She's also in a couple of the extra features (making of... etc) .

emptybox

Good morning both

not a bad day so far here, hopefully it will stay dry so we can take dog on seafront whilst son does drama.

HIcky

Hope you enjoyed your saltfish brekkie. Shame your delivery has such expensive delivery costs. Your lad must intend staying in Oz awhile if he intends getting his own place? do you mean buying one, and I assume it would be a city one as opposed to the outback?

Gosh 2,  6 foot tables of food, that is a lot. Where did you put it all? Garden or dining room?

Emptybox

hope it is a bit drier there today.

As you didn't get your shopping with all the rain, does that mean you had to go without your sphag bol yesterday? Will you go instead today?

Hope you enjoyed watching your dvd.

have a good day both. xx

final of Pop to Opera tonight, hopefully Joe will win, think he has done well each week on this show. not keen on Cheryl at all, she was so horrible and rude on Coach Trip, and don't think her opera is anywhere near as good as Joes either.

M

Afternoon Mollie.

It's dry here as well at the moment, but cloudy.

I had my spag bol as usual yesterday, because I had the mince in the freezer anyway, but I've run out of bread and breakfast cereal now, so I'll have to go for provisions in a bit.

I don't mind Cheryl Baker, but I'd have preferred Claire (from Steps) to have been the other one to have gone through.

Think Joe should definitely win though, unless Cheryl is outstanding tonight.

Enjoy your seafront walk.

Hi Hicky.

Are you having a relaxing day after having all the family Yesterday, or have you been invaded again today? (in the nicest possible way, ofcourse )

emptybox

Good Afternoon Mollie & Emptybox.

No Sun today, will have a few visitors later at about 6 ish.

Can get a bit of work done using the Summer house or Gazebo, all under cover.

Still making the frames for the pots over winter.

Ash seems to be doing well at the Mo, she gets a lot of praise on twitter from those that follow her.

The Saltfish was 2 nice pieces, O/H had one, she enjoyed it as well, still have about 3 or 4 400g packs, can't wait to see the boneless packs when they arrive.

My Lad is thinking of buying a place, not sure where could be Darwin.

Will have to check on that.

All the food was on the Gazebo decking area, inside the Gazebo is pretty big and on the side of the decking by the streetlamp you can get a 6ft table next to the BBQ.

I might watch the final of Po to Op, but not really interested, will see what else is on.

Don't like fellers singing anyway.

Have a good day you 2, hope you get some nice weather.

Hicky
