Evening.

Another lovely hot day here, so I got a lot done.
Think it's supposed to get cooler again though? Up here anyway.

I remembered to take my extra bottle of water (with juice added) with me today. Needed it as well.

I bet your street lamp looks impressive Hicky? That summerhouse looks good too, and just the right size for your garden.

A  Food Day, over the road from you? You'll be in your element there.

Hi Mollie.
I don't think there's anything wrong with my boiler. At least if I switch the heating on, the radiator heats up right away. I think it's a sensor of something in the hot water tank misbehaving and not telling the boiler that it needs to heat the water up.
If it was the boiler not working it would be more serious, especially when it gets to winter, but as it is, it's not really affecting me.
I'll tell the landlady if I'm speaking to her, and she can add it to the long list of jobs that she never gets round to.

I only saw a bit of BGT because we had a 2 hr power cut from 8pm to 10pm. The power was going off and on this morning, and I reported it, and the powercut this evening was them turning the power off to fix the fault. It was the whole district I think.

Funny you should say about the squirrels  digging up your pot plants. It's the rabbits here that cause devastation for my plants.

emptybox

Hi Emptybox.

Another Gloriorious day here.

Sun belting it down.

Been to B&Q, got 3 90x90 bolt down thingies to support the 3 off 90x90 posts I bought, with 10mm couch bolts and washers.

The particulat fench section we want are about ÂĢ50 a piece and would have to be remade into smaller sections.

But it's only wood so you can do whatever you want really.

One of my Lads is coming down to pick up a lawn mower, am giving him No. 3 with the wheels on, he had borrowed my Lads petrol one, which used to be mine.

They all loved my last Chicken or Beef Dopiaza curry's I made, got another beef one for them now as well.

Going to move the stuff out of the way where the summer house is going.

I will probably put laminate flooring down in that as well, it's great in the other one.

Saves walking on the floor they supply.

The kitchen seems massive now we have moved most of the stuff into the store shed.

All the food from the garage has gone in and we took loads of gear we didn't want to the tips.

Have a good day, looks like a BBQ tomorrow is on the cards.

Not good about your power cuts, can do without them.

Hope Mollie is enjoying this warm weather.

Hicky
Hi Hicky.
Glad you've still got the good weather. It's gone back to being cloudy, windy and cool here.
If that was my summer, then I've had it.

Will go out and do a bit of work now. And then maybe the supermarket later?

You seem to have a large collection of lawnmowers that get moved around your family?

Suppose it's t
emptybox

Hi Emptybox.

It's been very hot today, got to B&Q for 3 galv 90x90 bolt down brackets, also got 3 posts and some 10mm coach screws to fasten the lot together.

All bolted down, not sure what fencing to put in, might make a removable section, well 2 actually.

One's about 1.1m the other about 1.3 meter.

Might put a couple of side sections on so I can drom pieces of decking down but have them removable, but have to have a domed center some how.

My lad came to pick up the spare lawnmower and curry.

I'm going to make the cookies etc in the morning for the party in the park.

It was a bit too hot to work in it, cut the grass when it cooled a bit.

Hope Mollie had a good day.

Hicky
Hi Hicky.
I got a couple of hours wrk in, but didn't get to the supermarket. I'll go tomorrow.

Watched the results show. I think the little boy should have won really. The male pianist was good as well.
That Stephen Hall, the dancing old man, is actually only 53. So he's only a couple of years older than me. And I'm only a laddie yet.

Hicky

interesting what you said about your son and that show. I am getting very suspicious lately of the goings on on that show if the contestants are told to sing or dance when they know it is not for them. Not fair at all . I guess the producers know who is likely to win, or who they want to win , perhaps?

How lovely ... a summer house... i saw those in B and Q, think they look great. do you have a link to it. ?  I bet your lamp looks good in your garden.

The squirrels have been digging at the plants my OH put in our plant pots.   They are either looking for nuts in them, or burying their own in them, and going to get them out later. I saw one sitting on the plant pot for ages munching away.

Emptybox

sounds like your boiler must be on its way out soon. Such a nuisance for you whilst it is being tempratmental.

Make sure you get your water and wear your hat now the sun is so strong.

It is very warm here today, but I guess it is to be expected now we suddenly find ourselves in June.

At last I can wear my summer dresses.

Yes that was a bit of a surprise on the Apprentice that he let 2 go. Wasn't keen on that big headed bloke that left, so he was no loss.

have a good day. xx

OH's half day so we are off to the shopping centre , we will call in the Italy cafe with the delicious ice-cream on the way to the supermarket though.

Hello Mollie - hope you are feeling better and that you enjoyed your ice-cream.  Did you enjoy seeing Dennis Tanner back in Corrie?

FM

Oh no!!

just realised that I told son to turn off my lappy and I had forgotten to press the reply button on the long post I had typed in this morning.

anwyay, hope you are both well. xx

Hicky

I love the summerhouse, looking forward to seeing the pics of it in place in your garden. That is good that you have lots more room in your kitchen. You got a bargain there too. Sounds like you are real good with those curries now.

Did you take those cookies to the food fare at that nice looking park across the road?

and did you get to do that BBQ?

It was very warm here too yesterday, but is cooler again today. Time to hang up the summer dress again.   Pity because I bought 4 new ones yesterday from Asda.  I have to make up time from all that clothes shopping I missed when ill.

Emptybox

that was annoying getting a power cut during your tv time.

I thought that dancing man was in his 70's.Perhaps it was his choice of clothing that made him look older? He played a great part there though. What great timing he had . I enjoyed watching his act. And i liked the winners singing. I understand what you mean about the lack of females though, did seem very unbalanced

I am watching Pop Star to opera now. I realy enjoyed this last series, even though I am no opera buff.

went to Cardiff today, and this time I didn't end up in tears exahusted in the cafe. Hooray,

That means I am gradually improving. I only went to one shop, and  gave myself an hours limit to my time in Primark, then sat for a rest in a cafe. I still managed to buy a flowery dress and a flowery blouse, and some leggings for me , and shirt for OH,  and 4 T shirts and a cardy with hearts on for daughter, a hat for my mum, some reading glasses and a pair of sunglasses for me and one for daughter.   Phewww....And I was about 10 mins quieing for changing room and 10 mins queing for till during that hour. Am shattered now though.  Good job things are nice and cheap in Primark, eg...ÂĢ1 for sunglasses.

I hope you have both had a good day. xx

nice to see you here.

Yes I am gradually feeling much better thank you.

I hope you are well, and are enjoying your weekend. x

Yes it is good to see Dennis back. I wonder how that story will develop?  And how long he will stay?

at the John Stape story. Fancy him surviving that. !!

M

Evening Mollie, Avalon Moonlight & Emptybox.

The kitchen seems so empty now, all work surfaces almost uncluttered.

Was up early, make tripple choc Brownies and Choc Chip Cookies, took them over at 1pm for the start, lotts of lovely food over there.

Mine went down a treat, they loved it.

Most of the other cakes were bought ins.

It wasn't so warm today, a bit disappointing of course.

Dug up my Onions & Shallots, am putting them out to dry.

In the process of making a fenced area to hide the Wheelie bins, not quite sure what to do yet.

Have installed the posts and boltdown brackets, just got to sort the wood to make the fence.

Saw some of Popstars, not into that sining though.

Work tomorrow.

Glad you had a good time in Cardif, that is a good improvement, and it seems to pay.

Hicky

Evening Mollie and Hicky, and hi to Avalon Moonlight.

Grey and wet here, and actually very chilly.
I went to Galashiels and did my shopping in the cheap Asda there. It's much bigger than my usual supermarket though, and I don't know my way around, so shopping took longer than usual.

I also bought a couple of things in Currys. A 2TB external hard drive to house all the movies I've recorded on my computers TV card, and a mobile wi-fi modem (3, pay as you go) to access the internet on my Motorola Xoom tablet when I'm out and about.

Mollie, glad you were able to enjoy your shopping trip without any traumas. You must be improving.
I definitely think that man (Stephen Hall) on BGT was dressing older than his age, to make his act look more unlikely.
I enjoyed Pop Star to Opera Star tonight. I voted for Midge Ure to stay because I thought he'd be the one in danger, and I thought he deserved another chance. But right enough, he went. Probably did have the weakest voice, but they were all very good. Joe McElderry was the best out of that four.

Hi Hicky. I'm glad your cookies went down well at the Food Fayre. Did you sample all the opposition's efforts?
I'm sure you'll work out how best to shield your bins.
That's good going, having onions ready already.

emptybox

Morning Mollie & Emptybox.

Thats a big hard drive, as you say, will store plenty of stuff on that.

Hope you mobile Wi-Fi works ok on your tablet.

I watch some of Pop Stars, not sure why they would want to sung Opera though.

What does the winner get?

I can't even understand what they are saying, so don't see the point.

I did sample quite a bit of the food yesterday, there was an awful lot, well 4 tables worth.

I just had a few sandwiches and some jam tarts.

A lot of food had come from Costco and other Supermarkets.

I took mine over on 3 very large plastic display round trays each about 45cm across.

The outer edges had small pieces of Brownie and the center was filled with Choc Chip Cookies, that was the same on 2 trays, the other was just Cookies.

Not sure how many pieces of each but they lasted 3 hours.

As far as the fence for the bins is concerned, I'm going to get some wood to put down the posts and get some nice decking wood to make the horizontal boards, I will get the thicker decking, it's a better quality and should stay straighter, I will give it all a coat of decking oil when finished.

Hicky

Good evening both

another lovely day here today, nice and sunny, but with a nice cooling breeze, so I got about 7 washloads dried nicely

Hicky

I guessed your home baking would go down well.   Were they raising money for any reason, or was it just like a nice shared big picnic in the park?

Good luck with your bin fence, I reckon you will do a nice job of that too.

Looking forward to seeing the pics of that and the sunhouse when it is all done.

How was work today, hope you weren't too busy?

Emptybox

Glad you are fully equipped techy wise now after your recent shop.

Yes big Asdas are difficult to find your way round until you get used to it. How on earth did you manage to resist visiting George clothes section?   That is my fave section. Good value for what you pay there.

Yes you could be right and Stephens old man clothes are part of is act. It worked though because not only did it look funny, he danced well.

Yes shame Midge Ure left, I would of liked to see him have another go. I agree, Joe was by far the best.

I am watching Embarressing Fat bodies now, because

a)  I thought it might help me not overeat and

b) there was nothing much else I could find to watch tonight.

have a good evening both. x

M

Evening Mollie.

It seemed to be nice and sunny here this afternoon.

O/H wants me to order a section of fence, made to measure to fit between my new posts.

She thinks decking would be too heavy.

It wasn't too bad at work, the 1st day back for the factory so everyone was busy, that took a lot of pressure off me.

Watching The Hotel Inspector

Have dug all my onions & Shallots up, am hanging them out to dry.

Think it takes 3 weeks.

Hope Emptybox had a good day at work.

Hicky

Good evening both x

Hicky

shame it is raining on your day off.

A bit showery too here on and off, but managed to take the dog out between showers.

I didn't realise it took that long to dry onions. I bet they are really tasty when you eat them. Will you cook with them or have them on a sandwich with cheese?

Did you see the Resteraunt Inspector , it was on straight after the Hotel Inspector? It was quite good.

Where are you ordering your fence from? do B and Q have it?

Emptybox

hope you have not had another power cut, again, as you didn't call in yesterday.

How is your workload going now?

I am sure Emptybox will enjoy your link Hicky when he does call in though.

Tonight I am going to watch Four Rooms on channel 4, and then Juniour Doctors on bbc1. I assume that Jnr Docs was so popular when it aired on bbc3, that they moved the new series to bbc1.

I see gas prices are going to go up 19%. Typcical of these big private companies , making sure the top bods get nice pay rises and bonuses whilst Joe Public pays the price

have a good evening. x

what are you watching on tv tonight?

M

Evening Mollie.

It hasn't been too bad today, had quite a bit of sun,

Yes, it takes quite a time to dry the onions.

We eat a lot of onions, mainly cooked.

I saw the Restaurant Inspector and the Hotel Inspector, enjoyed them.

Tried to get the fence section we wanted but they are fixed sizes.

I would be too expensive to get them to alter them.

I bought the curved trellis top section from a fence/decking supplier, I have altered one of them, got the other to do.

Not sure what to do about the fence section yet.

A bit of a blow the gas going up again.

The Baby Sidd weighs in at 12lb 4oz now, he likes his food.

Haven't seen much TV today yet.

I'm watching Britains Secret Seas, at 9pm will watch America's got talent.ITV2

Rang up about my Fig tree's they said they are waiting for the carriers to pick them up.

Hope Emptybox had a good day.

Better go and see if anything needs watering.

Hicky
Evening both.

Bit drizzly today. i got my invoicing and monthly accounts done.

I also spent quite a bit of time on my mobile phone to Orange, because my phone has gone dead.
The broadband is still on at the moment thankfully, but Orange say the problem is an "unbalanced line". The last time I had a similar problem it turned out to be ivy shorting out connections on a nearby telegraph pole. Orange say they are sending an engineer tomorrow morning, but that remains to be seen.

I take it you didn't watch Ash's programme Hicky, if you didn't know if that was the right link?
It's worth a watch because she's back to the same daft Ash that I loved watching on Big Brother. Ofcourse that means that those that didn't particularly like her on BB (naming no names Mollie ) won't  be very impressed.
emptybox

Hi Mollie & Emptybox.

Ivy gets everywhere doesn't it?, what a nuesance.

I checked the link, didn't have time to see if the video was the program or not, I do intend to watch it though, just forgot.

Grandson doing well, another due anytime now, maybe a week.

America's got Talent wasn't on, it was in my Mag, very annoyed about that, don't know why though.

At work now, hope it's not too busy.

I could hear all the robots working away at 6am from the office.

Roll on Brekkie.

Hope Mollie had a good day yesterday.

Hicky
Hi guys.

I waited in all morning for the telephone engineer, and predictably nobody showed up, and my telephone still isn't working.
I suppose I'll have to phone them on my mobile again, which will cost a fortune.
My internet is still on, but running slower than usual.

The infrastructure round here is terrible. We're always having power cuts and problems with the telephones etc. I suppose that's the price to pay for living in the country-side?

At least the mi-fi modem that I bought seems to work. I tested it in the town on Monday, and got a reasonable speed. I don't get any connection at home unfortunately, but if my home internet fails, I'll be able to keep in touch with you on my tablet at lunchtimes, when I'm out and about.

The second episode of Celeb salon is on tonight Hicky, so you should be able to get it on the same link shortly afterwards.

Hi Mollie. I think there was a clothes section in Asda, when I was in on Sunday, but I didn't pay much attention. I only tend to browse for clothes when I am needing something. TVs, computers yes. Clothes.......not so much.

I'll have to go out now and get a bit done.
emptybox

Hi Emptybox.

Thats a blow, no Engineer turned up.

What is the country coming to?

I thought it funny in Japan, after the earth quake Tsunami thingy there was no power anywhere and this youn Japanese girl was sending messages everywhere, when asked how she did it, she took out a small mobile dc generator powered by a small handle which when turned gave enough power to recharge the phone batteries.

I bet we don't have that here.

I'll try and see that first episode tonight then, before the other one comes out.

I find it very strange that we can't get the program on our channels.

Hicky

Hi Hicky.
I got a bit of work done this afternoon, even though I had to dodge a heavy shower to do it.

I phoned Orange again, and they say they have established that the fault is external to my property, so the engineer didn't need to call. And they hope to have the telephone on by tomorrow evening. We'll see....

I've got a wind up torch that has a mobile phone socket, so i suppose if I could get hold of the right cable (or adaptor), then I could use it to charge my mobile? Take quite a lot of effort though.

Ash's programme is on TV3, which is an Irish only channel, although it does show a lot of the UK ITV shows such as BGT. It also does an Irish version of 'Come Dine With Me'.

emptybox

Good evening both

Emptybox

what a shame you waited in all morning and no engineer came. it is so annoying how they do this and you get to lose a half days work. I can sympathise with your infastructure problems. We too get that here out in the sticks... phonelines not that good, or the internet speed, and the sky reception is awful as soon as the wind blows or it rains.

Fingers crossed your internet doesn't fail now

You are like my boys, they too prefer the computing and gaming sections of the supermarket to the clothes section.   They leave the boring buying of their clothes to me.

I too was disapointed with Juniour docs, it said in my mag that it was a new episode, not a rehash of the old ones.

Hicky

That grandson must certainly be getting good nutrients to grow that quickly. I bet he looks so cute now.   I like babies chubby arms and legs.

Hope you have better luck with your new fig trees when they come.

Nearly time for The Apprentice, me and the family enjoy this show.

Have a good evening both. xx

M

Evening Mollie & Emptybox.

Hope Orange sort your connection, not sure where you could get a cable to connect your mobile to your torch.

Hope tonights Salon doesn't overrite last weeks.

Yes Mollie, Grandson coming on well, even next doors baby is 6 months all ready, only seems yeasterday she gave birth.

The apprentice now.

Have a good night both.

Hicky
Really enjoyed The Apprentice tonight.
I think the right one went, but poor Zoe was convinced that it was going to be her.
It was great seeing them getting their hands dirty, on this task.

I think they'll probaly keep all the episodes of Celeb Salon on the site Hicky. If not, we will have them all at aisleyne.com.
it's on Monday, Wednesday, Friday this week and next. The first episode got 3/4 of a million viewers, which is not bad when you consider Ireland's small population.
emptybox

Good morning all

Nice and sunny here so far, but a bit of a nip considering it is June. (so much again for that rubbish they have been spouting all the time about global warming). I still have my winter quilt on at night.

I'll get my washing out nice and early incase the showers arrive.

Hicky

hope it is dry for you to get outside to do your jobs.

Fancy them having robots and you can hear them. What time do those robots start their work? Do they have many of them?Do they look like robots you see in cartoons?

Emptybox

Fingers crossed Orange sort you out today.

Glad you are enjoying your Irish tv.

When we lived there, I used to enjoy watching the Irish channel.

But as you guessed I will give the Ash one a miss.

Yea i too enjoyed the Apprentice. Amazing how people make money out of others junk, but i guess you really need to know what you are doing to know what junk could make you money. I read in a mag that Zoe and Glen were an item, I think we could of seen a sign of that being true  last night.

have a good day both xx

M

Evening Mollie & Emptybox.

Have watched the start of Celeb Salon, got the rest to wath yet, it should be good, getting well praised.

Had a good day really, got some potato grow bags to put flowers in.

Got some Compost as well from B&Q.

Have altered both curved trellis tops, will have to get some decking for the small fence.

The Robots do all the main jobs in constructing the body, all the welding and spot welds also the stud welding, they can operate to within 100th of a millimeter and don't get tired.

They can pick up anything up to a whole vehicle side, then take it to get some compound added then tale it to a welder then when all the jobs are done it puts it on a holding jig to be picked up by the next robot.

95% of the workers on the production line in the body group are just putting small parts into the robot cells for the robots to do the work.

This is one type and make of Robot, there are many.

http://www.learnaboutrobots.com/industrial.htm

The part that picks up components is a seperate section that clips onto the end, it usually has a clamp unit or suction pads.

The Apprentice is getting interesting, still no idea on a winner.

Still no Fig Tree's, will just have to wait.

P.S.

Found out why I don't know whats on the TV, thought all the programs had changed.

Just noticed tonight, the magazine is for next week.

Been using it all week.

Hicky
Hi Mollie and Hicky.

Silly you Hicky, with the TV mag.
I think you'll like the second episode of Celeb Salon.

It was cold and windy this morning, but quite sunny, so I got a bit of work done. Then at 1pm I got a call on my mobile from BT saying they needed access to the house to check if the phone was on, so i had to come all the way home.
Luckily the phone is now fixed. it was water damage in a box between me and the exchange seemingly.
I had lunch at home, then it came on pouring rain, so I didn't get any more done.
emptybox

Hi Emptybox.

The mag problem was probably caused by me forgetting to get the mag at the weekend, think I bought it Tuesday, never thought to look at the dates.

Looking forward to watching the show, I see all the episodes seem to be on the link, thats good, but as you say, they will be on her site anyway.

Glad they are getting a good review by the fans.

My Summer House came this morning, got plenty more to do now.

Hicky

Evening Both.

My Fig tree came as well today, they delivered it next door.

She carried them round wasn't sure who they were for.

I had said put them in the porch.

But I did mean my Porch.

Both tree's in 10Ltr pots in one bag for transporting, a couple of Figs had broken off.

Probably no good this year anyway.

They are replanted now anyway.

Got a problem of how to level the floor section of the Summer  house.

It will be standing on slate.

Went to Costco, got some sweets and a box of extra chewy mints, some Pickled herrings, some Anchovies, a new bamboo chopping board, mushrooms, eggs and milk.

And some 'Florentine' which is delicious,

Hope you Both had a good day?

Hicky

Good evening both

Emptybox

well that was a bit of a wasted work day for you thanks to BT.   But good news that the problem is solved now. Hope you managed to catch up a little today.

It was quite cool here today too , but not as much rain as they forecast thankfully.

Hicky

Gosh those robots are a clever invention.   thanks for the link about them.

Hope you manage to work out how to level out the floor of the summer house. Glad your fig trees came, lets hope you have better luck with this lot than the last ones. Sounds like you had a good shop at Costcos. What is Florentine?  Is it a type of cake/biscuit?

It was OH's half day, so kids and OH went to gaming shops whilst I got a few groceries for my mum from Asda, then I sat and had a latte for a rest. Asda very busy being Friday, so quite tiring. Then after we went to Harvester and had a nice meal, the help yourself salad cart is delicous, We all like the fresh baked bread rolls on it too.

hope you have both had a good day. xx

M
Evening.

Cool and showery today. I got a bit done, but not as much as I should have done. Got wet a couple of times as well. I'll have to work tomorrow if it's fine, but I don't think the forecast for thr weekend is very good.

Glad your summerhouse and fig trees came Hicky.
Good job your neighbours could give a fig, or you might not have got them back. D'ye geddit Boom boom!

Just finished watching the third episode of Celeb Salon. It wasn't Aisleyne's finest hour TBH, but at least she got a plug for her book in, which should help the Irish sales figures.
She's staying on in Ireland at the moment. She was due to be judging a Beauty Contest tonight.
emptybox

Evening Mollie & Emptybox.

It rained early on today but then turned out OK.

Went to B&Q for the wood for the subframe for the Summer House.

Got 7 lths of 89x38x2400.

That was fine for the subframe.

It was easy to level, took a barrow load of slate up broke a few flags and leveled the subframe with a spirit level.

My lad was with me so we got it built, it was a very good build, fitted like a glove.

Got the decking wood for the shield fence for the wheelie bins as well.

Will get some more of that for the shelving in the Summer House.

Planted the Figs.

At least you got to Harvester Mollie, help yourself salad eh, bet you did as well.

I've still got to catch up with Ais, nice picture Emptybox.

Florentine Mollie is a broken bar made up of nuts etc in a crunchy brittle toffee with a coat of chocolate on the underside.

But it's not just nuts, it's fruit & veg as well.

Good evening both.

we were luck here today, because it did stay dry in the end, but was a bit windy, don't mind that as long as it is dry though.

Emptybox

shame you are not getting as much work done as you should be, with the rain, but at least you have had time to catch a bit of Irish tv.   My fave dress in the photo as you would of guessed probably is the red poppy one. I like flowery frocks.

Hicky

glad you are well pleased with the summer house. Sounds like you and your lad have had a busy day outside today. Let's hope the figs come on well now you have planted them. Your florentine sounds nice and tasty.

I went to Asda this morning and round town, but managed not to buy any clothes this time. I did manage to buy a new handbag though from New Look, but can't complain because it was reduced from ÂĢ12 to ÂĢ4.

I am watching the results to "So you Think You can Dance" now.

Saw this about Big Brother.

http://www.ok.co.uk/posts/view...-begin-in-Manchester

I see Lilly Allen got married today. She looked lovely.

But look, look down the report to see a pic of the revealing frock her sister Sarah is wearing.

have a good evening both xx

M
Hi Mollie and Hicky.

It poured down all day here. i got wet going for my shopping, as I was loading the stuff into the car.

Great job with the base for your summerhouse Hicky. Bet you were pleased your lad was there to help.

Mollie, sounds like you got a bargain with your new handbag?
That is rather a strange choice of dress for Lily Allen's sister Sarah, for a wedding? Must admit I thought she was very beautiful in the programme about them setting up the clothing shop.
