Evening guys,
Bit rainy today here.
And yes, it's been colder here as well.

Glad you enjoyed your family meal Hicky.
And glad you enjoyed your fish and chips Mollie, even if you had to retreat to the car?

I went into town and treated myself to a new. Tablet PC from Curry, a Motorola Xoom.
It runs on the Android operating system, so will take a while to get used to.
I'm typing this on it now, but it's taking much longer than usual. However I'll soon get used to it I'm sure. It's very light and slim anyway, and will be great for browsing from the couch, and for reading books etc.  It'll be fun getting to grips with it anyway.

Not sure the weather forecast is much better for next week?

And it's Hello to Mollie & Hello to Emptybox.

I've got hanging baskets in front of the house 3-off 1 hanging in the back with 4 non hanging.

The ones in the front have the water container built in, you just fill it now and again.

Am going to get some more Trellis for one of the Vines, it wants to spread a bit more, will put some at 90deg to the one thats there now.

Fish and chips on the seafront always taste fab, pity you had to eath them in the car though, but no fun sitting in the wind.

Didn't watch 'The Hotel' didn't notice it.

Your new Tablet PC sounds good Emptybox, will look them up on the web, any new gear takes a while to get used to.

Weather lousy this week by the sounds of it.

Have a good day both.

Hicky

Good evening all

still have a very cold wind here today, so we have eventually had to switch the heating on to take the chill off the house.

Emptybox

hope you enjoy your Tablet, sounds like you will be able to get some good use out of this.

HIcky

did you get your trellis from B and Q? Those water containers sound a good idea for your hanging baskets HIcky. We don't have those.

Not much on tv tonight, but I am glad I have double Corrie at least to watch.

We took doggie a walk down by the river today, lots of mum sheep around with their lambs, they all baa'ed at us when we walked past, but weren't too scared of us, they didin't move far away from us.

have a good evening. xx

nearly time for me to watch Corrie, think I will make a hot choccy gone off all the ice-cream we bought recently now it has turned cold again.

M

Evening Mollie.

The wind is making it feel a lot cooler than it really is.

Switched the heating on when the baby came yesterday.

Hoping to get the extra trellis from the garden center where I got the other.

The hanging baskets with the false bottom, the capiliary matting and the feed pipe down to the base are ideal really.

It's good to get down by the river, at least you had sheep to keep you copmpany, plenty of young ones around at this time.

Weather looks a bit better tomorrow, dosn't mention rain, just clouds.

The bird bath/fountain came today.

It needs something to keep it from falling over in a wind.

It says put water or sand in the base.

Why do they make the base a lot smaller diameter that the top? Crazy people.

Might have to make a base section out of decking and try to secure the base in that somehow.

Have a good evening you two, not a lot on TV tonight.

Hicky

Evening.

Quite cold here as well. Will need my electric blanket again tonight.

I'll have an early start tomorrow, because I have to have my car at the garage for 8am, for it's MoT.
Don't think it should have any problem passing?

I got my varifocals today. It's quite strange, cos you have to move your head up and down to get things in focus. But it probably becomes automatic after a while?

Still getting to know my new tablet PC. I'm typing this on the couch watching my recording of BGT.
Loved the naked Britney impersonator.

I'm not sure that my PVR doesn't have a problem? Twice this week I've found it still recording a programme hours after it should have stopped, and I've had to manually delete it.
It is a known fault with this model, but is supposed to happen only very occasionally, but mine's done it twice in a week. Hope I don't have to send it back.

Glad you enjoyed your river walk Mollie.

Sounds like your birdbath may not be very well designed Hicky? But I'm sure you'll find a way to make it stable.

Hi Emptybox.

Hope your car passes it's MOT, can be expensive if not.

You soon get used to the Varifocals, they are really fantastico.

Still haven't watch BGT, will have to though.

Hope you PVR is OK, a pain sending it back again.

Have set up the birdbath in the garden, so sun though.

Defo need to make something to stop it blowing over, don't think putting water or sand in the base will do, the base is too small.

This is the one I bought.

http://www.coopersofstortford....untain-prodst08133i/

Have a good day both of you.

Hicky

Good evening all

It was a horrible, dull, damp and drizzly day all day today. Even the dog didn't want to go walkies. So we didn't today. The bad winds seemed to of died down though, good job because our tv reception was terrible the last couple of nights. Our satellite dish had to be on the end of this long pole thingie you see, so we can get the reception over the hills and trees behind us, and this pole thingie really blows around in the wind.

Emptybox

hope your car passed the MOT ok.

at you admiring the nekked Britany. She did look incredibly like her, shame she couldn't sing though.

Hope you can sort your PVR out ok. That would be unlucky if you are landed with one of the few that have this fault.

And hope you can get on well with your varifocals.

Did you manage to get your gardens done ok today?

Hicky

that is a nice looking bird bath. I see what you mean about the base being so small. With these strong winds we have been having, it wouldn't take long to blow it over if you don't weigh it down. Very clever that it runs on solar power too.

Not much on tv again tonight, I will be glad to see The Apprentice again tommororow. Am watching that super fat/super thin show. Can't believe how much or how little some people eat.

have a good evening both. xxx

M

Hi Mollie.

Watching the 'Secret Millionaire', love this program.

Been watchinh 'Britains next best thing', thats good as well.

Still got to get our dish and Aerial sorted.

Wind and rain, so only saw a few short bursts of water from the fountain.

Have worked out how to secure it, will make a decking shallow section and fasten it with some washers overhanging the bottom lip and screwed down.

Looking forward to 'The Apprentice'

Work tomorrow.

Have a good evening, hope Emptybox had a good day, and his car passed the MOT.

Hicky
Evening.

You'll be pleased to hear that my car passed without needing anything.

It wasn't too bad weather wise here. A few drops of rain, but nothing that stopped me working. Although I had to finish early as my car was ready just after 4pm.

I'm very impressed with my varifocals. Yesterday they were giving me the impression that things were moving on the periphery of my vision, but that sensation has gone today. I'm still having to remember to nod my head up and down to find the area of focus. With bi-focals you only have two areas, and if something isn't in focus with either of those, then you are out of luck. With varifocals you are almost bound to find focus somewhere on the lens.

That birdbath looks good Hicky. Glad you've worked out a way of securing it.

Hi Mollie. Pity the weather wasn't good enough for your dog walk.

I'm looking forward to The Apprentice as well. Haven't decided if my PVR is faulty yet. I've rebooted it, and will see how it behaves.
emptybox

Hi Emptybox.

Is this the Tablet PC you got, looks very impressive.

Don't know much about them, must admit.

http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/motorola-xoom-tablet-pc-32gb-09752543-pdt.html?srcid=198&mctag=gg_goog_7904&gclid=CNLhoNPv8KgCFUQMfAod9n5nDA

Got to work even earlier today, was here at 5.45, a good journey, not much traffic.

Glad you car passed OK, that saves some worry and cash.

It takes a couple of days to get used to the glasses, but it's worth it in the end, they are a miracle really.

Weather not so good yesterday, stopped me from m,aking a few things outside, not to worry.

I saw a water spout from the fountain, but it was just as the sun was going down, even that was hazy so juat got a few spurts.

Have a good day both of you.

Hope the grass dries up soon it's getting a bit long.

Hicky

Good evening all

Emptybox

Glad to hear the car passed that MOT.

Good to hear you are getting on well with those varifocals.  (what are varifocals?)

Hope that PVR is behaving?  (what is a PVR?)

as you can see, I am not a techy.

is it still electic blanket weather there?

Hicky

gosh, you really were the early bird at work today. What do you do when you get into work?  Read your paper and the forums? What time do they actually start paying you from? I guess the earlier you leave for work, the less traffic there is. MY OH leaves about 6.30am to miss the motorway queues.

Glad you worked out how to secure the bird bath. Sounds like it is working ok now you have seen the spurts of water.

Yes, that grass loves these showers to help it grow. Ours is in need of a good cut again.

It finally stopped raining this afternoon, so the dog got her walk. She was so excited when she saw a squirrel walking in front of us, but was disappointed that squirrel did not want to play, and ran away.

The Apprentice on soon. Hooray.

hope you both have a good evening, and enjoy the show.

M

Evening Mollie.

The Varifocals are the latest glasses, been out quite a while though.

They focus on whatever you look ahead at, fantastic, so much better than Bifocals which have a split lens.

I got in at 5.45 this morning, wash the cups, fill the water containers for the kettle.

Makey myself a cup of tea.

move any emails that were printed from the day before to another table, read the emails, delete the spam ones, print the ones that need to be actioned.

File the delivery notes.

Then go online and look at the Forums etc.

Mess about till 8am when I suppose I should start work.

I'm working tomorrow, so will be up early again.:d

Glad the dog got walkies.

Didn't think a Squirrel would hang about.

Enjoyed the Apprentice.

Hicky

Evening Mollie and Hicky.

Yes, that's the tablet Hicky. It's very impressive. It's got a dual core processor and 1 GB of RAM and the 10" screen has a 1280x800 resolution, so it's reasonably fast, and great for surfing the web.
The on-screen keyboard is very fiddly though. You can buy a bluetooth keyboard for it, but that's kind of defeating the point of a tablet.
I find myself browsing sitting on the couch, but when I actually want to make a post, I get on the desktop computer in the corner (like now).
I have visions of me sitting reading my morning paper on it over breakfast someday.
Bloomin' expensive newspaper though?
The one I bought has wifi, for connecting to my router, but it doesn't have 3g (for fitting a SIM card) so if I wanted to browse the web while out and about, I would have to buy a mifi dongle, or find a wifi hotspot..

MY PVR (Personal Video Recorder, like your Sky+ box Mollie. )  seems to be behaving since I rebooted it. I've recorded about 4 things since, and they've all stopped as the proper time. Perhaps it needed the reboot to sort out the schedule? I've given it a warning that it will be back to the shop if it misbehaves again.

The varifocals are like bi-focals, in that they have the distance part of your prescription at the top of the lens, and the reading part at the bottom, but instead of there being a division between them, there is a continuous variation so things in the middle distance can be focused on as well.
The great thing is, I can now get the text on the computer screen in sharp focus. Previously it was at just the wrong distance for the reading part and the distance part, so I used to take my glasses off when I was on the computer.

It was blustery today, with a couple of showers, but i got some work done anyway. It's not too cold, but not nearly as warm as it was a few weeks ago.

Glad you enjoyed your walk Mollie. Are you sure your dog wanted to play with the squirrel  rather than eat it? Or is she a vegetarian like you?

We're all different Hicky. You like to be in work by 6am. I like to be snoring in my bed at that time.

Hi Emptybox.

You can get an ordinary USB mouse for the Tablet if it's easier, not sure if it would be.

Couldn't do without my Varifocals, so much better that the split lense, I used to play chess and the bifocals did my head in, it split the board and I couldn't tell what row a piece was on, it was awful.

Not too busy at work really, but if I'm here they like to find me work.

I was here befor 6am again, had a good journey through Liverpool.

I see the auditions are live this year for BB, you just turn up and get seen.

Here's the link.

http://outside-org.co.uk/2011/...nchester-and-london/

Hope Mollie is having a good day, think the weather is a bit better today anyway.

Hicky

Good afternoon all

Emptybox

those varifocals of yours sound a great invention. Glad to hear they help you and HIcky see well.   I only wear some glasses from the ÂĢ shop if I can't read the print on my lappy or in mags. At least if I lose them, it is no great loss then.

Glad you are happy with that tablet thing, is that the same as the ipad thing?  My friend's hubby bought her one of those, but she finds she can't do her touch typing on it. (me and her went to college some years ago, to do a touch typing course, very useful it was too. We had to cover the keyboard to learn to memorise all the keys, and which fingers to use for which keys). But she likes the fact like you do that it is easy to put on your lap to read stuff, and you can even shove it in your handbag.

Good that your pvr is now working, hope it heeds your warning and behaves itself.

Hicky

don't blame you going to work early, because I should imagine the traffic is awful in Liverpool later in the morning. Glad you aren't too busy at work today, at least that means you shouldn't get too behind with the forums and celeb gossip.

My mags came yesterday with my Sainsburys delivery. And Stacey has a few pages in it, doing a fashion shoot. She looks really good in it.

I too enjoyed the Apprentice last night.

I like the shopping task.

I bet is is expensive to stay in that Savoy hotel.

I hate my new lappy, so am back to using my OH's little notebook thingie. The lappy has a bad fault, making it unusable for me. I read it up on the net after I got this fault and others have had it too with this model. So OH is going to take it back to Currys, and try and get another make. Shame beause the screen is very clear on it, and I like the keys, but every time I type (I type quickly), it skips backwards on its own. So annoying. Our other lappys don't do it. One person who reviewed it online said she was forced to buy a mouse for it because it was so bad. I am not doing that, so am off to complain. I saw on tv Dom show today, that if it is a design fault you can take it back, and demand exchange.

have a good day both.

time to take doggie  a walk , nice dry bright day today. Hope it is where you both are too.

M

Hi Mollie.

Wasn't too bad at work but if I'm there they tend to find me work to do.

It's great coming to work early, I lose a couple of hours but I usually have them to myself.

Havent seen any mags yet this week, so not seen any pictures.

As you say, probably very expensive to stay in the Savoy, it even sounds expensive.

Pity about your Lappy, it wasn't a Dell was it?

Inside the Human Body on at 9pm BBC1, 'Impossible' at 10pm C5

Will have to record Celebrity Juice at 10pm then.

Shameless at 11pm E4.

Had an email about the first shed, Fri May 27th, not too bad.

Day off tomorrow anyway, have got some woodwork to do.

Hope it's a nice day.

Have a good evening.

Hicky
Evening.

Not too bad a day here, a little windy but mostly sunny. Got quite a bit of work done.

Pity there a fault with your new laptop Mollie What make was it? Not sure what you mean by "jumping back"? Do you mean the cursor can't keep up with your fast typing? Anyway, I hope you can get it replaced.

Yes, my tablet is a bit like the iPad (some would say better ), and the keyboard would be no good for touch typing. You can buy a bluetooth keyboard and mouse for it, but it wouldn't work with a normal USB mouse, I wouldn't think? It's only got a micro USB socket.

Hope you can get the shed you want Hicky?
emptybox

Hi Emptybox.

Raininf on and off today.

Went to B&Q and got some wood, raon stopped play fpr most of the time.

Went to Costco as well, met my Lad there, he had the baby and his other Lad, nice to see them again.

Got 2 more 2Ltr bottles of milk, been trying to use some of the 6 Litres I had left, they run out Saturday.

Made a few pints of Choc Moose, made 4 pints of jelly, all using up milk, didn't use any water.

Got some more Achovies as well.

Got Strawberry's, Red Grapefruit, salad stuff.

The shed should arrive next Friday, they will be in touch to confirm.

Hope Mollie had a good day, weather expected a bit better tomorrow.

Hicky

Good evening both

Hicky

my lappy wan't a Dell, cant remember the make , will ask OH.

Pay day for you today?

have you plans to spend it on the garden again?

Did you get your wood work done today?

Weather wasn't too bad here today, so hopefully it was ok for you to get out in the garden.

Glad you haven't got too long to wait for your shed.

Emptybox

Glad the weather was ok for you to get a bit of work done today.

Yes the cursor thing kept skipping back a few lines when I typed.

But the good news is that when OH and son took it back to Comet today, when the lady tried it, it did it to her too, so they gave them a full refund, which means I can now get the same make my daughter has got, we have seen it in tescos.

Sounds like the tablet wouldn't suit me, but am glad you are pleased with yours and you can surf along on the sofa in comfort with it.

We all went to Harvester for dinner tonight. Very nice, and very reasonable price. I like the help yourself salad cart, they have fresh bake rolls on it too, they were still warm. 2 of the family had burgers and chips, OH and daughter had BBQ chicken, and I had spicy sweet potatoe burger.

have a good evening both xx

M
Hi Mollie and Hicky.

Very wet overnight here, but it turned into a lovely afternoon. I got enough work done.anyway. The rest will have to wait till Monday, because my Brother is visiting tomorrow with his wife. No nephews though, they've seemingly got better things to do.

I had to go to the supermarket this evening because my brother will be here fairly early, and I needed provisions.

Glad you got a refund on your dodgy lappy Mollie, and will be able to get the one you really want. Glad you enjoyed your harvested meal.

Hicky I bet the grandkids will love your homemade mousse and jelly. Good news about your shed.
emptybox

Morning Mollie & Emptybox.

Can't understand you buying any Laptop other than a Dell, I wouldn't anyway.

Glad you got your money back.

Been up since 7am, couldn't sleep any longer too much to do.

Had my Saltcod at 8am, made my Dais for the Solar fountain.

Just waiting to make sure it's dry before I give it a coat of decking oil.

just watching Stacey on Saturday Kitchen, she is one of the guests, she so funny.

And she loves her food.

Hope your Brother and his O/H have a good stay, will you be doing the cooking.

Will be tasting my Mousse and jellys soon.:, plenty of it anyway.

Have a good day both.

Hicky
Evening.

Not too bad a day here up until about 6pm, when the rain came on.

My Bro and SiL had a good visit I think. I treated them to my trademark spag bol, which seemed to go down well. They went home towing an old trailer that belonged to my Dad. I don't have a towhitch on either of my vehicles, so it was just sitting here doing nothing, and he will be able to use it.

Up and at 'em again this morning Hicky? Glad you managed to get on and make the base for your fountain.

I was watching Stacey in Sing if you Can earlier. I recorded BGT though.
emptybox

Hi Emptybox.

Good job your ok at making this Spag Bol.

Glad you Bro & SIL had a good visit, hope they enjoyed your cooking.

They will appreciate the trailer, it's a handy thing to have, don't understand why you didn't get a tow hook fitted, thought it would be the first thing you have if a gardener.

Finished and coated the Dais, it looks ok, have put it in a temporary position with the fountain on it.

Enjoyed watching Stacey last night.

Here's a bit from her book that's out now, she had a rough time at 17 with an unexpected child, she didn't even know she was pregnant.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/fem...ke-long-sad-day.html

BGT was goood as well.

Hope Mollie had a good day.

Hicky

Good evening both x

I hope you are having an enjoyable Sunday evening.

WE have been watching Come Dine with Me, and The Hotel. Both shows I enjoy.

Emptybox

glad to hear you had some visitors yesterday, and that they enjoyed your sphag bol.   That was a good idea to give your guests a dish you are well confident in making.

That is good that they will be able to make good use of the trailer.

I saw the end of that singing show .Stacey was great the way she carried on singing whilst all those bikes landed all around her. What a great voice she has too.

Hicky

that was a coincidence that you bumped into your lad and his family when you went to Costco. That is good that you sorted your fountain out. Stacey's book sounds like it could be interesting. I wonder if she will be travelling doing book signings? I will try and go if she is in Cardiff.

Yes I too enjoyed BGT. The show is so well put together.

Did your family come over for Sunday dinner today?

I haven't been feeling too well again.   I am experiencing numbness and tingling in my hands and feet, and muscle aches, makes me very tired because it is starting to bother me more at night in bed. I believe it can happen in relation to thyroid/calcium related stuff, think I will need to chase hosptial up, Surgeon was supposed to see me in April, but think they forgot to send me an appoitment, or it got lost in post.

Only went out briefly today, for short walk down seafront with dog, it was very windy and quite cool. By coincidence we bumped into a dog that was exactly likes our except a bit bigger, same breed, colour and even the white markings were in the exact same positions as ours. It was surprising because it is quite a rare breed, only one breeder in Wales, we had to wait 2 years for ours. So strange seeing the 2 dogs togother. The other dog was 7 years older than ours.

Feeling a bit better tonight, have tried to up my calcium intake to see if it helps.. doc in itu said I would need extra calcium.. don't want to put weight on , but can't be feeling ill either. had cheese on toast, milk and cereal, 2 yogurts, and goats cheese and tomato flan for dinner.

Not much on tv now, think I will read one of my mags.

goodnight both xx

.

M

Godd Evening Mollie & Emptybox.

Sorry to hear your not too well, sounds like a circulation problem Mollie, best see the Doc, best to see whats going on.

I thought the Calcium was for your bones.

I knew my lad was going to Costco, he was going when he could ger them all ready.

Loved seeing Stacey, she has been on a lot of shows lately, she was on Saturday kitchen as well.

She is doing a lot of book signings, she did 2 Saturday.

She has a new Website.

http://www.staceyxsolomon.com/events/

Her Front page on the site, there's a lot about her on here.

http://www.staceyxsolomon.com/

Not a lot on tonight, saw Country File and British Academy Awards..

Work in the morning, the factory is on Holiday, but the canteen I use is open.

Been watching my new Fountain today, when the sun comes out, so windy here.

Strange seeing another dog the same, like a long lost relative maybe.

I keep saying SIL, mean of course DIL, the brain is asleep.

Hicky
Evening. Just a quick post before bed.

Pity you aren't feeling well again Mollie.? Hope they can sort you out if you can get a Doctors appontment.

Didn't realize your dog was a rare breed? Funny you bumping into another one.

Must have missed the end of Sing if you can. I don't remember Stacey singing. I would have liked seeing that.

Hicky, I had a tow hitch on my previous van, and used the trailer a few times, but I was never confident reversing it, so I'm quite relieved my Brother has taken it. He's used to towing a caravan anyway, and it's just as much his as mine anyway. It's a vintage one, from 1949 I think, so he's going to refurbish it as well.
emptybox

Good Morning Mollie & Emptybox.

Cloudy and windy here today.

Pity you missed the end when Stacey sang and Keith got dropped into the water tank, it was the last of the series, hope it comes back again.

Also glad Stacey got the chance to sing as well.

I've never had to reverse with a trailer so don't know what it's like, I've got a tow hook but nothing to tow.

Hope Mollie is OK, it's not nice having those symptoms.

Been at work since 6am, just on my second cup of tea, will probably have another before brekkie at 10am.

Hicky

Good morning all

had a better night last night, thankfully.

Still not gone completely, but better than it was. I will carry on with the increase in calcium rich food today, and phone hospital to see what happened to my appoitment.

Hicky

hope you are not too busy at work today.

Good job you have a good tea supply there.

We have a Wittards tea shop in the designer centre not far from here, and OH treated himself to some posh teas from there. Good job tea is so good for you.

thanks for the Stacey links, will look at them now.

The thyroid controls calcium, so was told I might get few problems over next 12 - 18 months post op , some need calcium supplements, but I want to try and get it through food if I can.

Glad your fountain is working well.

It is very windy too here today again, Our tv reception here is awful in windy weather, next door said it is because of all the trees on the hill behind us.

Emptybox

perhaps you could see Stacey sing on the iplayer if you wind to the end of the show. It is worth seeing.

Yes I should imagine it is quite hard work getting used to reversing a trailer. It is good your brother is happy to refurbish it, Often these old things were well made, compared to modern ones.

Is it very windy up there too today?

It is drizzly here today, and quite chilly.

have a good day both. xx

M

Hi Mollie.

Glad you had a better night anyway.

Whats Calcium got to do with pins and needles and numbness?

Not very busy at work, everyone else is because of it being shutdown here for 2 weeks.

Had brekkie as normal though, so thats a bonus.

Not sure what days I'm working this week, there will only be me here in the office most of the time so they may want me more often.

Not really bothered either way.

Hicky
Very wet and windy here, not nice at all.

I managed to watch a clip of Stacey singing. She was very good.

When my Brother was here he noticed a small chip on the wind screen of the Jag that he said needed fixing. I hadn't even noticed it TBH, but I bow to his knowledge in all things automobile related. Anyway I've arranged for Autoglass to come here and repair it tomorrow morning It shouldn't cost anything, as I've comprehensive insurance, but I'll have to wait in unfortunately. Mind you, if the weather is like this, he won't be able to do it anyway.

Hope you've managed to get a few more cups of tea in since this morning Hicky?
emptybox
Hi Mollie, didn't notice your post before.

Glad you are feeling a bit better. Hope these calcium supplements help.

Minerals like calcium, and mineral salts, are involved in all sorts of systems in the body. I would imagine calcium is needed for nerve cells to work properly, but I'm not sure?

My Dad bought the trailer in the 1960's, and refurbished it a few times, but hadn't done much to it in the last ten years or so. It was made in West Bromich originally.
emptybox

Hi Emptybox.

It's still very windy, looks like it will be like this for a week, not as bad though.

As far as the chip on the windscreen is concerned, it used to matter where on the screen it was but think they changed it to anywhere.

The magic mending can sort it, the chip is only on one side of the glass anyway, it's just a con trick really, with laminated glass the glass can't break, crack or not.

Had plenty of tea, so much my lower calf was swollen, not good.

Hope Mollie was ok today.

Hicky
Hi Hicky.

The chip is quite close the bttom edge of the screen. The guy on the phone said that if it was closer than a credit card length from the edge, then they couldn't fix it because the screen would be too weak at that point. It's about one and a half lengths from the edge, so I hope it'll be OK? I'll let the guy decide anyway. I'd rather they just leave it rather than breaking the screen.

The forecast for tomorrow isn't good, so chances are that they will call to cancel, but we'll see.

Morning.

Well the guy has just been to fix the chip in the wind screen. He didn't have any problems. It's been drizzling on and off this morning, but luckily it stayed dry for the half hour that he was here. It leaves a mark on the screen, but seems to fill in the spider arms of the chip. I think it's worth doing, if you have comprehensive insurance, because the little cracks can get bigger, and it can fail the MoT if it can't all be covered with a 50p piece. I'm surprised the garage didn't mention it after my MoT, but there you go.

Hicky, hope the swelling in your leg goes down, after your excessive tea consumption Yesterday?

I suppose I shall have to go out and do some work now? It's still dryish but very windy.

Hi Emptybox.

The screen can't break, it's like bulletproof glass, it can'r break while its on the car anyway.

If it's too close to the edge then maybe it's too hard for them to work on.

It has a layer of plastic sandwiched between 2 sheets of glass.

To be bad enough to effect your vision while driving during the daytime the screen would have to be hit a few times with a sledge hammer, it really is a joke, a few crack in the glass effects nothing.

With the old Toughned screens, one went on me 80 miles from home, it had smashed on the Motorway at night, it only used to take 1 stone to hit it and it turned into 1 million pieces but astayed together, because of the curve of the screen the screen stayed in place, and because it was dark outside I could see perfect, drove home no problem.

In the morning I was going to drive the car to get it repaired, got in the car and because it was daylight I couldn't see a thing through the screen, had to break a hole in front and tape some plastic over the hole, bet you couldn't do that these days.

It was soon after that that they scrapped the toughened screen and went over to the laminated ones that can't break.

My Electric spapler/brad nailer came as well, just need something to staple now.

Hope you can get your work done anyway.

My O/H had a letter from the council, she has won an award for 25 years service, they want her to go to an award ceremony, doubt if she will, and also a small cheque or a voucher or a pass to loads of things for life, like all the council facilities.

Haven't had any more swelling on my calf, sticking to elastic-less socks.

Hope Molly is OK today.

Hi Hicky.

I did get a bit of work done this afternoon, but it was a case of dodging showers. I also had to wear my woolly hat because the wind was too strong for my baseball cap.

Well done to your OH for her long service award from the council. Actually, I'm sure I thought your OH worked in a supermarket? Or is that a second job?

Hope you find something to staple.

Morning Both.

Hi Emptybox.

My O/H does the lunch time meals service at the local Junior school, it's just 1&1/2 hrs a day.

She retires from it at the end of June.

Not bad 25 yrs service, she's still at Sainsbury's part time.

I noticed that this site has strange spacing and can easy add extra lines of nothing.

I updated my FoxsatHDR boxes yesterday, saw a post on twitter form Humax so went and got the updae files, put them on a usb stich, plugged into the front of the box and pressed the standby button while in standby and it updated the boxes no problem.

I'm at work today, thank heaven that wind has dropped for the time being.

Might be able to get some work done now with my saw.

I added some hardwood supports for the trees, they were taking a hammering.

Went to see the feller about the Fig tree's, it was his day off.

Hope Mollie is OK

Hicky

Good morning all

well I am back at last on my new lappy, son set it up for me. I hope it is better than the last one. This one is like my daughters, because I found hers easy to type quickly with, It is a Packard Bell one. I did fancy a Dell Hicky, but didn't like the ones I saw in the shops. They all had these numbers down the right hand side of the key board, not only is that not good for my touch typing, but being left handed, it seemed all wrong for me.

The one we took back was called and Advent...

http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/a...00-06605535-pdt.html

I had gone for this because I only do basic stuff on my lappy, and it did not have the numbers on the right of the keyboard.

my new lappy is saying "install missing plugin" when I am on this site, what does that mean? The site seems to be working ok for me here.

Hicky

hope your calf is improved. I thought tea and fluid was good for you, so do you really think that the tea helped cause it? Hope you are not too busy workwise today.

Fingers crossed those winds do stay away so you can get busy with your saw. Take care though, you don't need any more cuts.

Congratualtions to your OH on her 25 years service. That is certainly some achievement.

Emptybox

was it wooly hat weather again?  I heard on the forecast it was going to get colder over the next few days.Shame about your windscreen, but good job your brother noticed it and it got fixed ok. Do you think a stone went on it recently, or it has been like that for awhile?

My hands/feet problems do seem a bit better now, I have been careful to eat regularly and make sure I have calcium over the last few days though.

Phoned hospital and they said that i was due to see surgoen April, but they are running behind.

time to sort accounts out, Accountant found I have messed up and paid tax bills from own account instead of business for last 2 years, so have to dig out old statements.

hope you both have a good day.xx

Morning Hicky.
Oh yes, I think you have said before that your OH did the school meals. 25 years is very impressive.
It's been drizzling again here this morning, but it's drying now, so hopefully I'll get out.
I saw that humax upgrade, but I didn't think there was anything critical on it, and they are going to be putting it out over the air from July, so I think I'll wait till then.
Pity you missed your tree fella. Perhaps he was off felling trees?
