Good Afternoon Mollie & Emptybox.

If you can't find a link to here, just google for something we talk about and it will come up.

I was searching google for some info on Decking oil the other day and it brought me to a post on this thread.

Not too busy, one boss has a day off.

I saw that advert wth Stacey and Keith lemon.

Will have to watch that program, it sounds a crazy program.

It wqas strange when Avast gekp flagging the files, I have the info now, got it from the Avast twitter link, can put the flagged files back now.

The scare only lasted 45mins and an update came out.

I see Holly Wills is in Labour, shouldn't be long now.

Have a great day, take it easy as well.

Hicky

Hi Mollie and Hicky.
We only had a few spots of rain in the end, so I got out to do more work, but it was a horrible cold and windy afternoon. I've gone back to my winter fleece and woolly hat for now.
At least it'll stop the grass growing so fast for a while.

Glad you weren't too busy Hicky.
I read about the Avast problems on the DS Computing forum. It hasn't affected me , I don't think?

I read that about Holly Willoughby.

emptybox

Evening.

Bit of rain this morning, but a reasonably nice afternoon.
Got my biggest grass cutting job done. 3 hrs worth of walking behind the mower.

I see Celebrity Juice has brought in a replacement for Holly, but it ain't Chanelle unfortunately.
Think it might be Mel B or Vernon Kay? Or one of the other alphabetic celebrities.
Probably someone different each episode?

Hope you are not doing too much Mollie.

emptybox

Evening Emptybox.

No sun here today, not too cold though.

Didn't do a lot, was picking some grass seedlings out of a vine plant tub, they fell in from a bird feed box, though they were infertile, obviously not.

Went out in the afternoon for fish and chips to West Kirby, beautiful it was.

Saw Celeb Juice, so funny.

I see Holly had her baby girl just after 5pm weighing just over 5lb.

Will get some more decking oil tomorrow, if it's still there in Costco, need 2 more lots really, supposed to put 2 coats on anyway.

We are doing a Roast dinner tomorrow as we have my Lad 2 girls staying overnight and he and his O/H are out at some ceremony.

I've got my Saltfish in water for Saturday brekkie.

Hope Mollie had a good day.

Thats a lot of grass to cut Emptybox, a 3hr cut, still, it's a good job done, bet you had a lot of cuttings from that.

Hicky

Hi Hicky.
Yes, you always get grass growing underneath bird tables etc.

Luckily I don't have to take the grass away from big jobs like that, cos there's always a massive pile of cuttings. But it's a big garden anyway, so plenty of space for hiding the cuttings away.

I've recorded Celebrity Juice. Might watch it another day?
That's great news about Holly. I hadn't heard that.

Enjoy your roast dinner tomorrow.
Hope you get the decking oil OK.

emptybox

Good morning both

Hicky

hope we have a nice weekend weather wise so you can get on with your garden.

Emptybox

hope it has warmed up a little for you up there now. It does seem milder here today.

I am busy, busy , busy, and tired out.

But this is the last few days now. Stuff everywhere as we have emptied most cupboards. I will be glad when this is over. Might not be back here for a few days.

Our landlady has  a freind who might want to rent this place, so we have had to agree to her coming round mOnday, I did try and warn her the place is a mess because the removalists are due the next day, and our tenancy doesnt end till the following monday, so we arent clearing up till we move out,  but she wants someone in, as soon as we move out. It will be a bit ironic though if she has rushed this and our mess puts the tenant off. As we are moving, the furniture unearths loads of dust under it .

Have a good weekend if I don't make it back.

will pop back when i have chance.

xx

M

Evening.

I imagine you are very busy Mollie but you'll soon be in your new home.
Then you'll probably be just as busy, getting it all sorted out?
Just pop back when you can.

Your landlady seems a bit over-keen to get new tenants in? Perhaps she realises that it might be a problem due to the works next door.

Cloudy and cool here today, but i got more grass cutting done.
Some people have had hardly any growth yet, but in some places the grass has grown thickly.
I'm just going by what the pattern has been in previous years.
I may have to do a bit of work tomorrow if the weather's good.

Not much on telly tonight, but there's some good music stuff on BBC4.

emptybox

Evening Mollie & Emptybox.

I suppose in a big garden you should have a compost heap and put the cutting on that.

Went to Costco, got 2 more lots of decking oil and restorer.

Got the roast sorted, girls arrived at 6pm, enjoyed dinner, gave them jelly and a cake.

Later 1 of them wanted pouched egg on toast, the other wanted a big bag of popcorn, so made her a bag.

We played some games, connect 4, I lost a few.

Don't envy you packing for the move, an awful job.

It always leaves a mess behine, but you only have to do it once, there will still be some cleaning to do but not as much.

Will be making brekkie for the girls in the morning, I'll be having my Saltfish.

There's loads of food in so they can have whatever they want really.

Don't overdo it Mollie it's not worth it.

Hope it's a good day tomorrow, must go and put the lottery on as well.

Hicky

Evening.

A nice day here so I got a lot of work done. Six small gardens started for the season.
I had one bad moment when the belt jumped off my new mower, and I was cursing it, thinking I was going to have to take it back already. But luckily it was easy to fix back home, and i got the belt on again OK. Hopefully it hasn't stretched the belt. I'll have to watch for it jumping off again.

Hope you enjoyed making breakfast for the grandkids Hicky?

I'll try to catch some of Britains Got talent a bit later.

emptybox

Evening Mollie & Emptybox.

Went to B&Q, got a couple more fence brushes, cheap ones.

The last one went hard as I didn't have any whit spirit, got some today as well.

Have done another section of decking with the deck oil, it's looking good.

All went well with the girls, they had a great time,

The Saltfish was great, so tasty for a brekkie.

Just going to watch Stacey and the new program, then BGT at 8.20, thats always good.

Hope Mollie isn't doing too much.

Hope it's a good day tomorrow, weatherwise.

Hicky

Good afternoon all

havinng a quick rest inbetween moving and sorting.

Hope you both have this lovely weather we have got here today.

Hicky

glad to hear the girls enjoyed visiting you.

I bet they love all the different food choices you ofer them.

I wonder if you are working on the decking again today?

Emptybox

you have been busy with your gardens now. Strange how some of the grass has grown quickly, and some havent yet..

Did  you both enjoy BGT last night?  I did.   I like the all round entertainment theme of this show. I also enjoyed Stacy's show.

I have been exhausted by the evening the last few nights with the stress of moving. So annoying when I can't find things now, and can't remember if they have been ,moved or not. Removal man called yesterday and said beause we had moved so much stuff, he could now do it all in one day, which is good. So we should be moved in by Wednesday.

have a good Sunday. xxx

M

Good Afternoon Mollie & Emptybox.

I enjoyed the program with Stace 'Sing if you can', it was on this morning as well.

Will probably be on next week at some time.

It was fynny, the Celebs trying to keep singing with multiple distractions.

It was all for Charity (the prize money) so good on them.

It's been a beautiful day here, Sun all day.

Been doing a bit more in the garden, have a couple of grandchildren round on a Sunday so will wait till they all go then do a bit more deck ing with the deck oil.

Have got the white spirit now to clean the brushes.

I enjoyed BGT Mollie, it is always pretty good.

Thats good news Mollie, moving so much stuff, at this rate you won't need him at all,.

I've been on the decking a few times with a cup of tea or a bowl of strawberry's and cream.

My B&D Sander KA1000 Mouse has packed up, have emailed B&D to see what can be done, we got it quite a while ago and it has only done an hours work, looking on the forums it seems the 3 little plastic stand off posts within the unit break after an hour o duse.

I have a lot of sanding to do and can't be buying one ever hour.

It only cost about ÂĢ30 they are dearer now.

I assume the design fault or the fact that they made the part from the wrong material meant that they could stay producing it.

I'll see what they say.

It's this one.

Evening Mollie and Hicky.

A lovely warm day here as well.
I got my own grass cut, and went for my weekly shopping.
I also bought tax discs online for both my vehicles. ÂĢ470 at a stroke. (ÂĢ260 for the Jag & ÂĢ210 for the van).

You must have been busy moving things Mollie, if the removal people only need one van? Cheaper for you, I would think.
I saw some of BGT. The fella in the orange top, who played guitar and sang was good.

Hi Hicky.
Pity about your sander. That's very bad if they've sold them knowing there was a design fault.
Looks like it's designed for small jobs only though? Skirting boards and the like.
Glad you could get on with your garden, after the family had gone.

Hope the good weather lasts through next week?
I should finish giving people their first cuts, and start on the rota again, for those I cut a fortnight ago.

emptybox

Hi Emptybox.

It looks like another nice day here, it says it will stay nie till Friday then light rain, but you can't trust the forecast.

A dear do this Car tax, but not much we can do about it.

As far as the Sander is concerned, a part that isn't up to the job should be spotted during tests, long before it even goes on sales, having a material that can't stand a constant movement and vibration seems crazy.

Not sure if my O/H can find the receipt now, she keeps them in a big box.

We don't throw them away, she got the sander fron B&Q, not sure how long we have had it, but she did very little with it because of her hands, she's got no grip and I found it hard to hold and control myself.

I gave the grass a cut, it just keeps it looking nice.

Did a bit more oiling on the decking, couldn't do much with having visitors a few times in the day.

Will do more tomorrow all being well.

Gave a coat to the garden bench as well, it had already been cleaned with the wire wheel in the hand drill, it's hardwood lathes so it should look nice, needs another coat I think.

Going to add a bit more trellis for one of the vines, think it is going to take off this year.

I can get matching trellis from the garden center.

Don't think I'll be too busy at work this week, hope not.

Haver a good day and hope Mollie isn't too stressed with this moving lark.

Don't envy her a bit.

Hicky

Hi Emptybox.

Not too good here today don't think, cloudy, but I was at work anyway.

Got a reply from B&Decker about my email report.

They say I was too heavy handed using it.

Have sent them a reply, on my thoughts about their answer.

This is what they said.

------------

Hi Alan

Thanks for your e-mail.

We have had news from out quality department that the fault is mainly down to to much pressure being put on the legs causing them to break.

Some tips for use are:

Only use this for detail work and light sanding.

Let the machine do the work, the only thing your hand should be doing is guiding the mouse around the working surface.

However if the machine is under 2 years old and you have a receipt then please call N+J Tools on 02085600885 and they will collect and exchange the unit for you.

Regards

Richard Woodbridge

-----------

They say if I have the receipt then I can ring a number and get it picked up.

About Rav and Chantelle, the problem was he couldn't stand her to mention the past, or to mention Preston and she doesn't want to forget the past.

Hope Mollie had a good day.

Hi Emptybox.

Found the receipt, only bought it in October 2010, so miles inside the time limit anyway.

Was going to wait and see if they answered by last critisism

No hurry really.

Put another coat on part of the decking, it sure looks good.

Have put the Gazebo up O/H likes to sit in it.

The vines are coming on fine, still nothing from the figs though.

Hope Mollie good and not doing too much.

Hicky

Good evening both x

Hicky

glad you too have the good weather to get out in your garden.

Good job you found the receipt for the sander.

Emptybox

that road tax is certainly a stinker now, isn't it?

Glad to hear you got a new customer.

 I am now sooo stressed...

most of our stuff is gone to new house now though.

it is the phone line causing me most stress.. unbelievable.. and my current landlady..

yesterday we rearranged our day round the fact she would be round with new likely tenant, so we tried to tidy and clean away dust as we moved stuff...then she cancels with half hours notice...and rearranges for today ,, so again we rush to tidy and rearrange day around this visit. . and she cancels again 10 mins before they are due..

yesterday the poor dog was really unwell, sickness bug.. so had to watch her and take her to vets. Had 3 injections, and 3 lots of med we have to give her now. Lucky she is s lot brighter today. But ti all adds to the moving stress...

but worse of all late this afternoon we get email saying after waiting nearly 5 weeks and paying ÂĢ130, BT were cancelling our phone line installation and engineers visit for tommorrow, because it was a talk talk line and would need more work, and more money to do. Gggrr, nothing wrong with the line, the phone is still working..I had Sky booked and internet still to pay but with no phone both are useless. In the end we decided to try and contact new landlady and take over her talk talk line and intenet, with no connection charge. I know talk talk do not have good reputation, but this wait and mounting cost to get rid of talk talk line and a new BT one in is ridulous. So hoefpuflly I shouldnt be months without the net.

Removalist arrives 8am tommorrow.. at least it is dry.

Poor Chantelle.   She seems to have bad luck fella wise.

have a good week both, be back as soon as I can. x

M

Evening.

A very warm day here. Shirt sleeves, for the first time this year. I'll have to start applying sun block from now on.
Got a lot of work done anyway.

Sorry you are getting so stressed Mollie.
I wouldn't worry about your old landlady. let her worry about new tenants, and showing them round. Don't let it disrupt your plans.

Not sure i understand about the ins and outs of your phone problem, but i hope you get it sorted to your satisfaction.
I thought BT installed all phone lines? So I don't see why it should cost more to take over a talk talk one? I pay Orange for my phone, but it's the same old BT line that I've always had, just that I pay Orange for it now.
Talk Talk will probably be fine anyway, if it's easier for you to take over your new landlady's existing service.

Pity that your wee dog has been sick. That's the last thing you need at this time.
Perhaps the stress is getting to her as well?

Good luck with the rest of your move, and we'll look forward to seeing you on the other side.

Hi Hicky.
Great that you found that receipt, so you can get a replacement sander.
Glad your vines are doing well, but pity about your figs.

Very sad to hear that Elizabeth Sladen has died of cancer at just 63.
She was my favourite Dr Who assistant.

emptybox

Good Afternoon Mollie & Emptybox.

You take it easy Mollie, so many things to think of, very stressful time I know.

I've only ever been with BT because I know all the lines are BT and it's such a lot of messing changing or changing back.

Think you will have a nice day for the move anyway, just supervise, let others do the work Mollie.

Been pretty busy today, didn't think I was going to be then it all took off.

We are thinking of getting a garden Summer house, they are selling them for ÂĢ299 at B&Q and are 2m x 1.64m with double doors and tongue/groove wood, it can go down the garden and we could put some more of the garden tools out of the way.

Hicky

Hi Hicky.

A summerhouse is a good idea. Just like another room outside.

Another lovely day here. Just right for grass cutting.
I'm going round people for the second time now, so it'll be all go till Autumn.
I've still got 2 or 3 that haven't had their first cuts yet, but I plan to do them tomorrow.
Actually I'm finding that it's drier than usual, so although the grass got a boost by the warm March, it's not actually growing that fast, because of the lack of rain.

I would have thought BT would be cock-a-hoop that Mollie wanted to transfer the line back to them (if that's what she was trying to do? ) Instead they seem to want to penalise her?

Anyway, i hope the rest of the move goes as smoothly as possible, and that Mollie can get back online as soon as she can.

Hi Emptybox.

The Summerhouse is only for storage space outside really.

The position it will be in is not much good for sitting in.

But the size of it will house most of the items I haven't got room in the other sheds for.

It looks like you'll have plenty of work to keep you busy through the summer.

Hope Mollies move went OK today, hope she will be back to normal before too long.

Hicky

Evening.

Another lovely day. I've got everybody started for the season now.
I think I'll work tomorrow, but may take Monday off.
I think I'll take next Friday off, for the wedding.

Bit extravagant buying a summerhouse just to keep tools in Hicky? Couldn't you find another cheap shed? Although a summerhouse will look better, i suppose?

emptybox

Hi Emptybox.

It's a long weekend for me, back at work Tuesday.

The summerhouse is just the right size and price, also has double doors to make getting some things in easier.

Been making cakes/cookies/choc chip thingies for O/H to take into work for those working tomorrow.

Bought a BBQ form B&Q today, and a gas bottle, we gave the last one away,

O/H thinks we needed one, right of course.

Will see if I can get some pics of the garden tomorrow.

The vines seem to be coming on well.

Hope Mollie had a good day today and is settling into the new place ok.

A lot of unpacking to do I imagine.

Will have to cut the grass again tomorrow I think, loads of daisies and dandelions have sprouted up.

Hicky

Evening.

The day started rather cloudy here, but it was a nice afternoon.
I did a bit of cleaning in the house this morning, then worked this afternoon.
The dandelions seem especially bad this year right enough.

Have a nice weekend Hicky.
Will you be testing out your new BBQ? Hope it stays nice for you.

Hope the move went well for Mollie?
I guess she might not get on the internet for a while if she can't get the phone etc sorted?
Anyway, if you're listening Moll, have a lovely Easter.

emptybox

Evening Emptybox.

What a glorious day,

Did some shopping in Sainsbury's then went to Costco with my O/H and my lad and his gang.

Got loads of goodies.

Came back and had a BBQ at my place.

Plants coming on well, except for figs, no movement yet.

Cut the grass when the Sun went in, think I need a lighter easier Lawnmower though.

It takes too much pushimng this one.

Aren't the Flymo ones easier to control?

I'll look some up on the web.

Hope Mollie is OK after the Move.

Hicky

i caught a mouse today and it went to sleep and wouldn't move.

i took it to show my yuman and she picked it up by the tail and throwed it over the fence into some long grass and bushes.

ungrateful thing!

it took me ages to find it again and when i found it i carried it carefully back home and put it on the patty hoe and pawed it to try to wake it up again to play some more. but it wouldn't

Yeah, yumans are like that, in my experience.

emptybox

Hi Hicky. Glad you had a glorious day to try out your new barbie.

I can't remember which lawnmower you have now? Is it an electric one with a cord? They are usually very light.

Mostly I use my heavy petrol mower, but in one place I use a customers's own electric one because my own one is too big to get through the silly tiny gateways she has. It's as light as a feather and I tend to use it with one hand. Makes quite a good job as well. It's fairly old though, and I can't remember the make of it, so that's not much help to you.
The only flymo ones I've tried are the old  hover ones (less bovver seemingly? ), which would be no good to you I wouldn't think? They were always difficult to keep under control.

emptybox

Not a very nice day here. Cloudy and overcast this morning, and raining heavily now.
Still, I suppose the gardens could do with it.
Hope it is better with you?

Went for my weekly shop, and the supermarket was busy. People stocking up for Easter I suppose.

The new Dr Who is starting tonight. I'm recording it and will watch it later.

Are you having family over for Easter Hicky?
Can't wait to see some pics of your garden.

Hope Mollie and family are settling in to their new place.

emptybox

Hi Emptybox, The Little Cat & Mollie who is not too far away.

This lawn mower is electric with cord, about a 12 or 13" cut with a rotary blade, it wasn't the one we wanted, we got the wrong one.

I'll look into the Flymo ones anyway.

I've taken some pics of the garden, took them with no Sun so no shadows.

If Mollie can't see them I can always repost them for her later.

Tried to upload 12 pics but didn't work, I'll post this link to the Album in Facebook for now see if this works.

http://www.facebook.com/media/...398&l=d77bdd2e3b

Hicky

The garden looks smashing Hicky, and the kneeling buddha looks very effective.
Also the different colour chips look great.

I can see why you had problems with the tubs, they look very complicated.
Also I see you could do with something to hide your wheelie bins.
But pray tell, why is one plank on the patio a different colour to the rest??

emptybox

Hi Emptybox.

The garden is coming on, love the Buddha.

The tub covers were pretty easy to make when you have a rotary saw, takes a bit o work but think it was a good idea to hide the tubs,

There is one deck plank that stands out, it always did, all the deck wood is of different types of wood, that one just happened to be a darker wood than the rest.

I asked the OH if she wanted me to change it but she said leave it.

That area has to have another coat of decking oil, will do it when we don't have visitors, we do at the weekends.

Hope you had a good day and Mollie as well.

Hicky

Hi Emptybox.

Sun was out all day.

Happy Easter to you both, forgot earlier.

Got all the pics of the fig tree's, the receipt I had, the inf that came with the tree's, got to the Garden Center and it was shut.

Will try again tomorrow.

Had the Barbie on again, a couple of my lads came round with their lot, it was a good afternoon.

Have a good day tomorrow.

Hicky

Well it's been a nice day here really, pity there's some wind.

Hope you are both well.

I went to the garden center, the gardener was standing pretty close to a new bach of rather small Fig Tree's, I asked him about my tree, showing him the pictures, said give it another month, the dozen or so I saw where in exactly the same state as mine.

He was saying about the harsh winter, but his had been kept out of the frost anyway, in a shed.

Got a load of bedding plants and have redone the hanging baskets,

Hicky
