Hi Emptybox.

Not been bad here today 6 deg and some Sun.
Went to Docs, waste of time, need a 30 min slot, had to re-schedule to the 1st Feb, they need to get the equipment ready shouldn't have had an appointment today.
They need an inhaler to do the test or something.

Had a late brekki at Morrisons and also got a couple of Sushi packs and some tasty sandwiches.

Went to B&Q this afternoon, got 15 lengths of decking for now, will use it later in the week.

Haven't been on line toll now today, was in the garden for a while but these dark nights are a pain.

Hope Mollie is OK today, not heard from her, best to rest though, let things heal.
Hicky
Hi everyone..
just a quick post because typing is pulling on my wound as it heals, so doesnt feel good at all. But cant complain, because at least the skin is healing.

Emptybox
glad your drains have been done now.

Hicky
what a nuisance they wasted your time at docs, and that you have to reschedule your medical test for Feb.

it was frosty, but sunny here today.
I sat outside for awhile today, thought the sun would do me good.
M
Hi Mollie & Emptybox.

Sorry to hear it's uncomfortable to type, it will soon heal Mollie and let you get back to normal.

Very frosty here this morning, warming up a bit now though.
Will get some work done outside, have plenty of clothes if needed anyway.

Hope you can get some work done Emptybox if it's not too bad by you.
Hicky
Hi Hicky and Mollie.

Very frosty here today again, but nice and sunny.

I tend not to do much work when it's very frosty.
Mainly because I'm lazy and it's a good excuse.
But also because people can be wary about you cutting a hedge or something if there's going to be a hard frost a few hours later, especially an evergreen.
Also prancing about on a frosted lawn isn't a very good idea.

Still, the work has got to be done sometime, so hopefully we get another mild period soon.
emptybox
Good evening all

typing a bit more comfy today, so here I am.   Have been told it is ok to put oil on wound now, so hopefully that will help.

Hicky
did you manage to get much done in the garden today?

It was a lovely sunny day here again today, although frosty in places. I'd prefer that to the damp and wet though.

Emptybox
yes I can understand you not doing much gardening work whilst it is still frosty.

I never felt the cold before I was ill, but now seem to be feeling the cold a lot more than I used to. So OH has bought me a nice warm light weight warm ski jacket in the sale.   It should of been my Christmas pressie. Here it is...

http://www.estore.tog24.com/Wo...s/AMAZOVA%20LDS.html

And it is my fave colour.(I had the pink one, not the black one).. I won't be skiing in it though.

have a good night.
xx

just remembered I want to watch that vidoe of Staey you posted Hicky. I like Stacey.
M
Hi Mollie & Emptybox.

Glad your a little better Mollie, that Jacket will keep you warm, don't think you'll be going out just yet, you don't want to risk falling or slipping over.

only did a little work in the garden, the decking wood is iced up and too wet, not so good for sawing, I'm sorting out what lengths to cut, no hurry anyway.

Stacey is so good, she's after some more TV work

Pity it's still bad outside for you Emptybox, hopefully it will be getting warmer soon,

Think it's freezing here again tonight, so not sure what it will be like tomorrow.

Hope you continue to improve Mollie, that's the main thing.
Hicky
Hi Mollie.

It's understandable that you are feeling the cold a bit more while you are recuperating.
I can just imagine you sitting watching the telly in your new pink jacket.

It's great that you are up to typing a bit more now.

Pity you didn't get much done in the garden Hicky, but as you say, working with wet and iced up wood isn't good.
It's  -2 here now and set to get colder i think.

I've got a funeral to go to tomorrow, so i won't get anything done in the morning anyway.
It's not someone close, just someone I knew in the village.

Watching the CH4 programme about building a roman villa. Quite interesting.
emptybox
Evening.

Another frosty day here, but quite sunny.
I had to scrape my windscreen at midday, when I went to the funeral, and I noticed the ground in the graveyard was frozen as well.

Wonder if you got much done outside this afternoon Hicky?

Not much on TV tonight. I see there are a couple of programmes on BBC4 from 9pm about bands that I like (Thin Lizzy and Iron Maiden), so i shall probably get into music mode tonight.
emptybox
Hi Emptybox.

Pretty cold here today, but not enough to stop me getting some work done.
Got the saw set up and cut loads of wood sections for each of the 3 tub sizes that I'm covering.
Cut the slots in the boards as well.
Leaves me the job of notching out now with a chisel and mallet, tomorrow if weather permits.

Have bought a 6" round grid cover from my local chandler, one of those that has everything.
Also bought some very strong 2mm galv wire, think I'll put some across the posts for the fig tree's on the fence.
Was going to train the fan growth along the bamboo trellis, but believe it's better on a wire like vines.

I'll look whats on TV tonight, saw CDWM before, usually a laugh.
Hicky
Good Evening Everyone.

Hope your OK Mollie, hope your eating ok and not in too much pain.

Went to the garden centre, got some food for the birds, they are doing a lot of reorganisation on the outside getting ready for the spring.

I need some wire tensioners, will look in B&Q tomorrow couldn't find any in the garden centre.
Hicky
Evening.
Not really frosty today, but a bit damp at times.

I've got a big pampas grass in the middle of my lawn, and it was getting a bit out of hand, and has lots of dead material in the centre of it.
The best way to deal with it is to burn it every now and then, so I tried that this afternoon with limited success. I don't think there was enough wind to get a good blaze going, but I managed to get rid some of the dead stuff anyway.
Hopefully it'll come up healthier in the spring, because this year it only sent up one frond, which was a bit pathetic.

I also went out to get my weekly provisions.
I filled up the car with petrol, but it took over ÂĢ60.

I also got my bill for the heating oil. 500 litres cost ÂĢ367. In September the same amount cost me ÂĢ248. That's an increase of almost 50%. These prices are getting stupid.

Hope you manage to find what you need in B&Q tomorrow Hicky.

Hope Mollie is feeling OK?
emptybox
Hi Emptybox.

Been watching the Comedy awards.

That fuel hasn't half gone up a lot, wow, thats a blow.
Like my car tax, last year 215, this year 245 for the year and 134.75 for 6 months.

I like the Pampas grass when it looks good, but it can look a mess.

Hope weather's not too bad tomorrow, got loads to do, going to my lads tomorrow afternoon as it's one of his little girls Birthday, think she will be 7, could be wrong, not far out though.
Hicky
Good Afternoon Mollie, Olly & Emptybox.

Very miserable and damp here today, not too cold really.

Hope things going OK Mollie, good food, plenty of rest and good TLC & TV.

Was very busy at work yesterday, didn't get much chance for posting.

Might do a bit in the garden.
Going to get some wire tensioners for the new strainers I'm putting along the fence for the fan trained fig trees, have found a kit including the plastic cord with everything supplied, and you get the vine clips for fastening the vines to the cord, it's 3 mm dia, just an idea.

But got to get my road tax first, should be Thursday night on-line.
Hicky
Good Morning Everyone.:0

Pretty damp here, car windows where wet, not sure if rain or condensation really.

Roll on 10am, food.

Hope you are OK Mollie, get your strength back and eat well.

Hope you are OK Emptybox, getting a little work done on the hedges etc.

Not expecting to be too busy today, but might have to do a load of Bacs remittance advice sheets to pay the material suppliers.

Did you see 'Shameless' last night, wow, that was like a horror movie, loved it.
They must have so much fun making the show, it's unreal.
Hicky
Hi Hicky.
Hope you weren't too busy today?

Raining here, so I didn't get anything done.

Never really watched Shameless. Didn't like the couple of episodes that I did catch, so just never watched it again.

Got caught up, the last couple of days, finishing the last Harry Potter book.
You can say what you like about the books, and there are definitely big holes in the plots etc, but they are very gripping when you get into them.

I see the National Television Awards are on tonight. Might watch some of it?
emptybox
Evening Mollie & Emptybox.

Was pretty busy at work anyway, could have been worse.

Watching the NTA awards, loved watching Stacey.

Shameless was good last night, a mix between a horror movie and a Blue movie, loved it.

Was so pleased Stacey won that award.

Ant & Dec have won that award for 10 years running, great that.

Hoping to get some work done outside tomorrow anyway, got a lot of the stuff ready, just waiting for the right weather.

If it was Sunny and Warm I would be up at 8.30 but lately it's been 10.30.

Hope you are OK Mollie, hope your eating and sleeping OK as well.
Hicky
Good Evening Mollie & Emptybox.

Not too bad here today, dry anyway.

Got quite a bit done outside, if it's the same tomorrow it will be great.

Just taxed my car and ordered a Pineapple corer/slicer, an apple/potato peeler, an Orange peeler.

Hope you are OK Mollie and getting stronger.

Anyone want to donate to one on Jades relations, running the Marathon for her, Chanelle has donated, so did I, Jade was ok.

Hicky
Good afternoon all
I am glad to be back posting with you both again.
will try not to overdo it yet though.
Hope you are both well.
I have missed you both during my absence.

Emptybox
cant beleive how expensive that oil was this year. I reckon our gas bill will also show a huge hike this year when it comes.

Hicky
and it is also ridiclous how the driver is being fleeced by putting up road tax so much.
I agree that is good to see so much of Stacey, she is such a happy go lucky type.

Nice sunny day here today, cool, but dont mind that when it is sunny and dry.
Work day or garden today Hicky?

Gardens for you today Emptybox?

Daughter is going to make me a macoroni cheese and veg for dinner, so that is easy for me to eat, if i mash the veg.
Will go a short walk down the lane with the kids and dog this afternoon.

have a good day both. xxx
M
Hi Mollie.
Lovely to see you posting again.
Glad you're feeling a bit better, but I bet you can't wait to get back on the solid food?

Dull and occasionally drizzly here. I did manage to get one little job done though, so one more ticked off the list.

I'm not looking forward to paying my road taxes this year. They both come due at the end of April, so that's quite a lot in one go. Just got to be swallowed though.

I was listening to a thing on the radio about people getting their heating oil pinched, so I went out and put a padlock on the filler cap of mine.
Hope I remember to take it off when I order more, or the guy might not be able to deliver.
I never have the tank full anyway, but even a few hundred litres would be worth quite a lot.
I notice the price has come down a bit since I got mine, to about 55p a litre. Still far too high though.

Hi Hicky. Hope it was good weather for your gardening?
Yes, I saw Chanelle promoting Jack Tweed's brother on Twitter.
I've just sponsored Rachel Rice for the same Marathon, so I think one runner per marathon is enough for my wallet?

Hi Mollie & Emptybox.

Glad your improving Mollie, these things can't be rushed, our feeble bodies need time to heal.

Had a good day, mainly in the garden making the tub boxes, have run out of decking again.

Went to Costco for a few bits, yummy.
Got a couple of pineapples and oranges in case the peeler gadgets come.
Saw Stacey on Loose Women today, she is a scream.

It will do you good to get out Mollie, just wearing a scarf loosely lying around your neck is fine at any time.

Yes Emptybox, if the price gets high for the fuel oil then it will go on the list of things worth stealing.

It's been a glorious day here, very Sunny, but still cold, the bird bath was frozen again.
Might get some more Wood decking tomorrow if I have enough money left.
Hicky
Good evening all
forgot to tell you both, incase you didn't see it, that I posted on our dialogue earlier today.

Emptybox
yes a good idea to fit a lock on that oil after you have spent so much on it. Some will steal anything now.
Glad you managed at least to get a little job done.

Hicky
Glad you too had the lovely weather today.
I thought you might make it into your garden today.   All that fresh air must be good for you.
Where did you get your peeler gadgets from?  Are they suitable for left handers?  I have to buy special knives for me and daughter because we are both left handed.

Because I can't get to the shops yet, I have been online and ordered some scarves to hide my scar, and some nice flowery gypsy blouses from Asda.  They only charge ÂĢ2.95 delivery, and if they dont fit, OH can take them back to local store.

Goodnight both. xx
M
Hi Mollie.
I'm sure those scarves will be very nice, but have you given any thought to making a feature of your scar?
A nice ivy leaves tattoo winding along it might look very fetching?
just an idea.

All joking apart, I'm sure it'll settle down and fade in time, and it'll always be a reminder that you're a survivor.
emptybox
Right, transfered over to IE8, it seems to be working.
Here is the copied post.

Hi Mollie & Emptybox.

I don't know whats going on with Gaga, I can post in here and the thread layout is correct, the the 'Hicky's' thread it's all over the place and the 'Post Reply' won't work, very confusing.

I'll post in here for now, and if things improve I can copy the post over.

Not sure if the peelers will work left handed Mollie, think the Orange one will, the Apple one is operated by a handle so not sure and the Pineapple one is hand operated with a clockwise motion.
I'll post the link, had an email, mine are on the way anyway.
This page shows the Apple, Orange & Pineapple peeler's, the Apple & Pineapple ones have Video's you can watch.
http://www.lakeland.co.uk/F/product/13181

I thought knives where right/left landed anyway.

It's handy being able to order online these days, I think it's great, handy for you Mollie as well.
Hicky
Good evening
Hope you have had a good day today.
We had lovely weather again here today.

Emptybox
Regrding my scar, I hadn't thought of it like that, but you are right, I have to think of it as a reminder of that i am a survior.   Think I will pass on the tatto idea though,  and stick to getting used to scarves.
Did you have a day off your gardening jobs today?

Hicky
that is strange how ga-ga was playing up for you.
Thanks for the link, I will have a look at your peelers.   I like kitchen things that save time.
Yes ordinary knives and scissors do not cut properly for left handers. They just cut blunt because the ridges are the wrong way round. I have to get them from the left handed site.
Have you managed to get outdoors today?

I am starting to feel stronger at last now, Managed to walk a bit further with the dog and family today, it was nice in the sun, although chilly.

Awful choice on tv tonight. So I have been watching my Corrie dvd.

goodnight both. xx
M
Hi Mollie.

Made a few more wooden tub covers today, run out of wood now though.

It's a problem being left handed, the equipment doesn't seem to be very versatile.

Glad you are feeling stronger, it's good to get out again, just take it easy.

Don't know why Gaga was playing up, swopped over now anyway.

Got more work that I can get done, doing some corner sections for the tub covers.

Hoping to buy some more wood next week to carry on with the decking.

Went to Costco yesterday, got some dried tropical fruit, yummy, some mushrooms, they didn't have the crab this month, they start again at the end of Feb, got some Oranges and Pineapples for when the peelers come, they have been sent from the company anyway.
Hicky
Hi Mollie and Hicky.

Glad you are feeling stronger Mollie.
The fresh air will be doing you good.

Not sure why you are having problems with the site Hicky?
Can't say I've had any trouble with it. I tend to use Google Chrome nowadays.

Frosty this morning, then a dull day. Didn't do much apart from a hoovering marathon in the house.

I watched the Million Pound Drop, and now I'm watching the thriller with Morgan Freeman.
emptybox
Hi Emptybox.
Don't know why Firefox screwed the threads up, couldn't do anything in the end, every time I refreshed it went worse.
Moved them to IE8 for now.
My Windows Virus protection has been hogging the cpu, it's the file MSMPENG.exe, if I stop the file running the Puter tells me that the Anti virus isn't monitoring the computer.
Have downloaded Avast Pro, so have that running and have disabled the real time monitoring oin the Windows Antivirus, the cpu seems to be ok for now anyway.
Hicky
Good Evening Mollie & Emptybox.

It stayed cold here today but it didn't stop me in the garden, used up all the wood I had, made corner pieces for the tubs to hide the empty corner section with the tubs being round.

Cpu usage has been a lot better now with the Avast Anti-virus Software running, haven't removed the Microsoft Security Essentials as they both seem to get on, strange as it is.

Just watching DOI.

Hope things are OK Mollie.

I'm working tomorrow, hope its not too busy, might have to do BACS remittance advice note for invoices seeing that it's the end of the month.

It must have been freezing all day as well, froze the bird bath again.
Hicky
Good evening all

Hicky
glad you managed to get out in your garden again today.
It was a lovely sunny day here too today.
I managed to go a short walk in the woods with the dog and family today. Then I was tired so we sat in the pub garden and I had a nice pineapple juice.
Hope you arent too busy at work tommorrow.

Emptybox
hope you have had a good Sunday. Did you go to the village for your papers today?

I too watched DOI Hicky.
it can be so dangerous for them.

I am going to watch Terry Wogan in Ireland in a minute, just caught the end of it last week, and it was interesting, especially as we used to live in Ireland.

goodnight all xx
M
Evening Mollie and Hicky.

Sounds like you are getting better weather down South?
It's been another dull and drizzly day here.
Keeps the frost away though.

I got a whole heap of ironing done this afternoon.
And yes Mollie, I went to the village to get my papers. Just about the only custom I give the village shop, apart from emergencies.

DOI was good. I've got a new appreciation for Chloe Madeley now.
I watched a bit of Terry Wogan, but I'm not really a fan of his style.

Wonder why Microsoft Security Essentials is giving you grief Hicky?
I've got Avast, but I was thinking of changing to MSE. Perhaps I'll stick with Avast afterall?
