Chilly here getting colder later in the week.
Didn't have a lot of luck with the garden vac and the leaf stem, they are too thin to get all sucked up, some do, and the small thin slate does as well.
Will have to see if a soft tined rubber rake will do it, one that doesn't move the slate around.
I made a nice Mince and Onion meal yesterday while O/H was painting the hall ceiling, made a pad of roasties and a dish or cauiflower cheese, it was a frozen pack, enjoyable anyway.
Shame Paige and Cher in the bottom 2 on X-Factor, thing Wagner is a joke, they only put him in the show for the publicity, nothing else, they are just using him for their own end.
And I see Ann is still in SCD, thats another publicity move on behalf of the producers
we had a lovely weekend at wsm.
How lucky were we that all that rain had gone by the time we went
The new pier is fab. Lots to do in there, and all brand new. I even had a go on the go-karts. I was rubbish .. lost control a couple of times coming down the hill, and got stuck on the side, so the guy had to help get me off again. At the theatre, my son enjoyed seeing backstage, and we all enjoyed the play. The hotel was very good for what we paid, nice big rooms, and a swimming pool, so we all enjoyed a nice swim. It was very busy on the Satuday, but lucky we had alos been there on the Friday, when it was quieter.
Emptybox
glad to hear you have found so many 2nd hand games to enjoy. I bet your problem now is finding enough hours in the day to fit them all in. I am as rubbish at mario kart as I am at the go carts, but I have never liked real driving either.
Hicky
glad to hear you managed to get plenty of time in your garden recently. Shame your garden vac didn't do the job with the leaf stems though.
Yes I was sad to see Paige go last night, I thought he had such a great voice.
Did your OH finish her painting? I bet she was glad of your cooking after doing that.
Has it dried up for you up there now Emptybox? It has here, but has gone a lot cooler. Looks like a cold winter to come, because I have noticed the bushes are absolutely burstingly full with berries this year.
It was very warm in wsm in the sun on Friday, but it went a lot cooler on the Saturday. But cant complain, no rain, which is what matters.
Glad you Pier adventure went well, sounds good.
O/H is still [painting, doing the woodwork now.
She cooked the meal today, with me working, it was Mince & Onion and chips, she's spending so much on the house she's cutting down on the luxury items like food.
Looking forward to IAC tonight, glad Nigel has walked, moaning feller.
I think as you say, a cold winter ahead, still a lot of leaves on my vines, waiting to prune them, mind you there's no hurry, got till march.
Glad you enjoyed your time in WSM Mollie. Your hotel sounds great. Swimming pool and everything.
I remember having great fun on the go-carts in Aviemore many years ago. Can't remember if I was any good though.
It's been pouring down all day here. Fourth wet day in a row.
And, as you say, it's set to get very cold and wintry. I just hope tomorrow is dry and mild so i can at least get a bit of work done.
Yes it's difficult to find time to play the Wii, what with all the telly to watch, and the computer etc.
I really think Gillian should have been taken off IAC, after all her fainting fits.
I think it's a pity Nigel walked. He was a bit grumpy right enough, but quite entertaining.
It's a beautiful day here, very Sunny and no wind, clear Sky's, great.
Going to see if my Garden vac will move the leaf stalks if I use the blow mode, will make a right mess if it blows the slate, it's very powerful indeed.
I did try it on all the leaves in the road and it blew a whole heap a few feet deep, lifted them and hurled them a long way.
My Feesat box has been dispatched, Royal mail have it, not sure when it will be delivered.
Need a few more canes for some work I'm doing on the left hand fence, hiding the fence with a bamboo matrix, as you can tell we don't like the fence and are trying to disguise/hide it.
Need a few more plants/trees to grow along the fence trellis, but most need the Sun and it's a pretty shady spot within 20ft of the house, we get the Sun mainly in the front.
Off to B&Q this afternoon, O/H needs more paint and some Cushions and to order the new Rug
Well it was a nice day here for a change, so I got some more jobs done. Quite mild but cold, if you see what I mean. They're predicting much colder and possibly snow by the end of the week.
I just hope this winter is better than last.
That garden vac sounds fun Hicky, even if doesn't do the little stalks.
My Freesat box came this afternoon, set-up in a few minutes, just put Postcode in.
Not bad reception, think Dish and aerial both need setting for best signal.
They sent me an HD box, don't know why but can get the HD channels now, couldn't even do that on Sky.
Am not using Sky for now, will try out this box, O/H is impressed as well.
Went to B&Q, got a new Rug, 4 cushions, some paint and a pack of 8ft canes.
Looking forward to IAC later, work tomorrow.
I tried the garden vac, the idea of blowing to collect and then changing mode to suck worked fine.
It's a powerful blower, worth trying though, it sucked some slate up but soon got it out and separated.
Had Haggis with Mash, Cabbage and gravy, very tasty.
That should be more reliable than the Bush SD box as well.
Also, if you wanted, you should be able to connect to your router, via ethernet cable or powerline adaptors, and get BBC iPlayer through the BBC red button service.
You might need to get a firmware update to do that though? (and I think the very first Bush boxes can't be updated)
I can watch iPlayer through my Humax box, but TBH I hardly ever do.
IAC was good.
If Gillian really did have a phobia to water she wouldn't have been able to do that task at all.
I'm glad she did better today, but it shows she's been mostly acting up to now.
I had haggis last night Hicky. I had it with potatoes and a carrot and parsnip mash and gravy.
Chicken in a cheese sauce, potatoes and broccoli tonight.
Diana Vickers is on Celebrity Juice just now. Not sure if it's a repeat?
Emptybox
glad you got the dry weather at last, so you could get a bit done.
I fancy the sound of potato, carrot and parnsnip mash. Just what is needed on a cold day.
HIcky
Glad to hear you are pleased with your new tv thing.
Did you have a little visit to the burger van when you went to B and Q?
did you get red cushions and rug?
Yes I too think Gillian has been acting up. She said she had no tv, and had never seen the show, so didnt know what to expect, then tonight she said she had lots in common with Katie Price because she kept being picked for tasks. How did Gillian know about that if she had never seen the show? Strange woman that one.
The weather man just said that if you escape snow this week, dont worry, you are unlikely to escape it next week.
goodnight all xxx
Frosty here this morning.Pleased with the HD box, think my Dish should be bigger and set up again, it's almost facing horizontal, the others I can see aren't.
Same as the aerial for Freeview, that's facing the wrong way I think. Not bothered with BBC iplayer can get it on the puter anyway.Gillian is just a pain, never had her head under water, she's just a joke.
Will probably have some more Haggis tonight, the one I get is for 4 or 5 people so should last about 3 days.Think the Diana one on Juice is probably a repeat, I saw her on it one week, but they just keep repeating the shows.
We got a Red Rug Mollie, we just got the small one 120cm x 160cm as they have them in store, very deep pile and some Cushions to go on the Sofa's.
It's going to be cold and Snowy at the weekend by the looks of it.
It started off frosty here, and then we had a bit of rain, but it was OK this afternoon, so I got another couple of jobs ticked off the list.
Pretty sure I've finished cutting grass for the season now, but I've got hedges to cut and tidying up yet to do.
You should probably be able to get away with a small region 1 dish (43cm) where you are Hicky, but if there are trees, a bigger region 2 (60cm) dish might improve things?
I've got a 60cm dish, but a few people round here have only got the 43cm ones. Bet they lose reception quick in bad weather though.
A satellite dish needs to be precisely pointed at the satellite, so if you are able to get all the channels, and they are all at a reasonable signal quality, then you are probably OK as you are. If you are only getting around 50% signal quality on some channels it might show that the dish orientation needs to be tweaked?
The Freesat EPG is broadcast from Eurobird 1, whereas the Sky one comes from Astra 2.
Although they are in the same group, and you should get the channels from both, it's possible that the Sky installers would concentrate on Astra 2 rather than pointing the dish in between the two satellites, which is the ideal positioning.
But you can tell that by seeing which channels are the strongest, and which are the weakest.
I think there's some snow forecast for here tomorrow. I hope it doesn't materialize.
Having said that, we are getting a hail shower as I speak.
It's going to be even colder tomorrow.
Hope you can get you outside jobs done before it gets too bad.
A mate at work said I should have a 60cm dish as that solved his signal loss, which we suffer from.
When I plugged the lead into the Freesat box to set it up the signal was 38%, not good.
Looking forward to The Apprentice tonight, should be able to see in HD if the program is.
No IAC but you can see the ITV2 program later.
the cold has arrived here too now, just measured with the digital thermometer and it shows minus 3.8 in our garden.
Emptybox
Hope you manage to finish off those jobs, glad you got a few jobs done, because by the sound of the weather forecast, you might be taking a break soon. Best to make sure you have some food in too, if they forecasters have it right.
Hicky
glad you are pleased with your new box. Hope you enjoyed The Apprentice in HD. What a good series it is again, I have been enjoying it.
I bet your red rug and cushions look dead smart. Looking forward to seeing some pics of the finished thing, at some time soon.
My mum had a leak in her bedroom ceiling, turns out it is the boiler, so they will have to put in a new one now. We told them last year it was playing up, but they didnt replace the boiler. But now it will cost them more because it has damaged the ceiling.
have you got your electric blanket on again now Emptybox? I think you need it now. I have a nice fluffy pink hot water bottle.
goodnight all.
xxx
Sounds you might need some work done on your dish then Hicky, to get the best reception?
We've had some snow here now. Only a little. But it's still above freezing.
I've been having my electric blanket on for quite a while Mollie. I've still got the Autumn duvet on though, but I think I'll have to put the winter one on soon. All 15 togs of it.
That's bad news about your Mum's boiler. Hope it gets fixed soon. And hope there's not too much damage to her bedroom.
The Apprentice was good. I was hoping that Laura would be in the losing team, so she would go. She wasn't at all supportive to Stella.
Fancy trying to sell British crisps to the Germans? Mind you, I'm surprised that they made crisps out of real ingredients. I thought they were made from E numbers?
another cold one here this morning. OH had to scrape car, he had bought a cover for it from Halfords, but he said it was rubbish and didnt fit properly.
Emptybox
yes I think it is well time to switch to your 15 tog now. I only have 10.5 for winter, because I found the 13 tog too heavy, but I guess I need to buy a better one, then you dont get that problem.
I wonder if you have more snow today?
we just had frost here.
Yes Laura got on my nerves last night, moaning and whinging. She was so bad, she even made Stuart look good.
Hicky
a day in the garden today? Or office day?
wonder who wil be first to be thrown out of IAC tonight?
We are going to the theatre in Cardiff today to see Tommy Steel in Scrouge, so that should be good. Think I will dig out my hat and scarf , it gets cold waiting around on the station if the trains are late.
hope you both have a good day. xx
Hope you enjoy the theatre today.
I woke up to everything covered by 2 or 3 inches of snow, and it's still snowing.
I don't think I'm snowed in yet, but nobody seems to be moving on the roads.
I've got plenty of food, but I've only got 4 days worth of beer.
I can walk the 2 and a half miles to the village to get milk and bread etc if necessary, but they aren't licenced.
I've got a couple of bottles of wine, but it's not the same.
I've got a 4.5 tog duvet for summer, a 10.5 one for autumn, and you clip the 2 together to form the 15 tog for winter. It is quite heavy, but it keeps the heat in so I don't usually need to keep the electric blanket on all night. At the mo I'm needing to have it on the low setting all night.
In fact I think I'll put that on today.
Is it chuckin' oot time on IAC? About time too.
ETA: The postie just called, which surprised me as it's snowing very heavily, but the roads must be reasonably clear. The problem is wether I could get my car out to the road.
I'm not going to worry about that today though.
It's been a nice day here, coldish though, forecast says minus each night with 2,3 or 4 deg in the day.
Did a bit of work in the garden, put another line of bamboo along the fence line about the bamboo trellis.
My lad is here doing the hole in the fireplace for the TV equipment like the back room, all the holes are in place now, the chimney breast can be papered now.
Wrap up Mollie if your going to Cardiff, the show should be good anyway
Some of the FM's on my other threads are saying they have snow by them, think it's mainly down the East coast, unlucky for some eh.
I've taken my Sky box out for now, was looking at Freesat Dishes and it says that the 430cm one has been superseded by the mark 4 which is 59cm.
Can buy the Dish with a 4 LMB unit for ÂĢ23 anyway.
Don't fancy trying to set it up myself so will look into what it will cost to sort the Dish and the Aerial as I fancy having Freeview as well.
Lucky you, being able to get out in the garden.
I've got 5 inches of snow lying now, and if it freezes overnight, it'll be here for a while.
Yeah, you are probably best getting someone in who can sort your aerial and dish at the same time.
Wow, 5" of snow all ready, that's early in the year then to have so much.
I'm looking at the advert/article for the Humax Foxsat HDR-G 320GB hard drive.
Not too dear, ÂĢ179.00
This one:
http://www.humaxdirect.co.uk/p...rodRef=10076#reviews
Can't believe the public wanted Gillian to stay and Sheryl to go.
It's not as if they are going to be able to choose Gillian for any more trials. That phase has gone.
Maybe she'll go tomorrow?
That Humax looks good.
It's grade A, so has probably been re-furbished, but it comes with a 12 month guarantee, so you are covered.
The 320 GB hard drive won't allow you to record many HD progs before it fills up, but I don't think you intend recording HD anyway, so shouldn't matter?
Certainly cheaper than the ÂĢ300 for a 500 GB new one anyway.
Yes it's very early in the year to get snowed in.
I think the cold spell is set to last for a fortnight, then hopefully it'll be milder over the festive season? Otherwise I won't be able to go across to my Brother's for Christmas.
I want Gillian out, she's just playing a very clever game, but we see through it now.
Sheryl didn't do or say much, not entertaining to watch, bye bye.
As you say, won't be recording much from HD, takes up too much space.
I saw on the news that the cold spell could last 2 weeks
Thought Stacey did great on that trial, pretty high up, but to get 12 stars was very good, between them.
A lovely Sunny day here, pretty cool though.
My lad is here laying the last floor, will be nice to get the front room done so we can move some of the stuff from the back room back into the front, then we can get the 2nd Sofa into position.
Am going to build a Octagonal decking planter tub to surround the black plastic tug.
It will take 4 lengths to make one box, with 250mm sides on each of the 8 sides, I can cut the angles at 22.5 deg and it shouldn't be too difficult, might have to wait for warmer weather though.
The snow is still here, but it was a lovely sunny day, and the forecast for the weekend is very cold, and maybe more snow, so I thought it best to go today.
I had to get a lot of snow off the van, and it took about 4 attempts to get it up the slope at the end of the drive and into the road, but after a lot of slipping and sliding I finally got there.
The roads themselves were not too bad, so I only had problems again turning into the drive on the way home, but it's not nearly as bad coming down the slope.
The farmer has now been down with a digger and cleared the snow and ice off this slope, so it should be easier now. Pity he didn't do that this morning.
I've still got to decide wether to go for the papers on Sunday, but I'll see what it's like then.
I could always walk down for them, but that would mean a 1and a half hour round trip, rather than 10 minutes in the car. Not sure it's worth it, just for the Sunday papers?
I'm sure your front room will look super when it's done Hicky.
It's just all the upheaval in the meantime.
Probably better to wait for warmer weather before you build that tub. You never know, you might get snow as well.
Have you had any snow yet Mollie?
We have had Hailstone this afternoon, only a cm or so, no problem.
You Defo need a 4 WD vehicle, Landrover of course.
I'm out tonight at my lads for Tea, Fillet Steak.
I've got his 2 Daughters staying here tomorrow night as he is out at some Do or Other.
He sent me a pic of his next baby scan, his G/F is having a baby next year, same as my other Lads Mrs, she due a month before.
Can't keep up with them.
what a great performance Scrooge was yesteray. Tommy Steel was briliant as Scrooge, and the costumes, songs and dancing lovely. We visited Winter wonderland for a hot chocolate after, and watched some ice skating. The outdoor rink is so pretty with the fair, big wheel, and all the lights. Daughter won a teddy with a pink hoody and pink boots on hook the duck. I forgot my hat and gloves, and it was so cold that I didnt fancy standing around the station without any , so got some new ones from Primark . Good job because we had a 20 minute wait for the train home.
Hicky
glad you were able to get into the garden again. I like those octagonal planters. Good job you have your lad to help with the floor. Yes Stacey did do well on IAC. Hope you enjoy your tea at your lads. 2 new babies soon in the family, how cute.
Emptybox
Glad you have got your provisions sorted now. By the sound of the forecast, best to be well stocked up.
Yes, we got the snow this afternoon. Not as much as you, but it has stuck a little, and is still snowing now. Accoring to the forecast we arent due any more this weekend though.Lucky that OH was on half day today, because tonight I hear there is a 22 mile traffic jam on the M4!
We went to asda today, and I noticed they had a huge pile of sledges for sale at ÂĢ10 each. They were quick to stock up there as soon as the snow came.
looking forward to IAC soon.
have a good evening. xx
Hi Hicky. Yes I think I could really do with a 4x4. I'll certainly consider that when i come to get rid of the Jag. If I'm still living here.
I seem to remember thinking that last year, but you forget inbetween.
Hi Mollie. Glad you enjoyed your show.
Good thinking, buying yourself some more gloves and hat.
I think I'm certainly due some more snow this weekend.
ETA: In fact, I've just had a look out, and it's snowing now.
Freezing here at the Mo, had a nice meal at my Lads.
Have changed my mind about the Octagonal planter box, might make it a Hex so I can overlap the joints by a couple of inches like an X and it will make it easier to fix because you slot the pieces together by putting a slot half way through and slotting the other section in.
Glad you liked Tommy Steel Mollie, sounds like you had a good time anyway.
Hope your not snowed in for long Emptybox, you can do without that.
Well I've had more snow overnight, and I've now got 9 inches lying on the lawn, so I think I'm stuck in now.
There is still the occasional vehicle on the road, but it hasn't been ploughed, so they are driving on white. I wouldn't be able to get my car on to road anyway, unless the farmer gets his digger out again.
I'm just glad I got my provisions yesterday.
I can't really envisage your planter box Hicky, so don't know how many sides would look best.
I've been buying some more Wii games on Ebay, but I don't know if the postie will get through today? I've got a book due from Amazon as well.
Emptybox
poor you being cut off, but jolly good job you did go out for those provisions the other day. I heard on the radio that around the borders are due for another 10 inches of snow. So I hope you don;t need to ration your provisions.
Yes shame about Lemsip, he seemed harmless enough.
I thought the american woman would go, find her boring
Hicky
A hex sounds rather nice too.
have you made it in your garden today?
icy here, and just a dusting of snow but cold.
our Tibetan terrier loves the ice and snow.
I am off now to do some chritmas shopping at the designer centre.
looking forward to IAC and x factor.
have a good day all.
Just typed a post and it disappeared.
Don't know how you manage without a 4x4 Emptybox, couldn't do with being stuck in doors.
looking forward to SCD & E-F & IAC tonight.
Still loving Stacey, hope she stays in to win it, would male a lovely Jungle Queen.
Thought Lemsip would go last night, but not sure now, maybe the runner guy.
Went to Costco, got some bin bags and a box of Cookie dough for the Chef at work.
And a few crabs legs.
Hope you manage to get what you want in your Christmas shopping Mollie.
Not sure who will go Jungle-wise tonight?
Not everybody around here has 4x4s Hicky. The farmers all do, but most people just have ordinary cars.
I've been snowed in this season, and last, but before that the last time was in 2000/01, so it hasn't been common up to now.
Obviously if we are now going to get harsh winters every year from now on, I'll have to re-think my driving strategy.
It could be that we are starting to get harsh winters earlier than we used to.
That's going to change the thinking of everyone, it's going to slow my work outside as well, might have to wait for warmer weather but it means wasting a lot of valuable time.
Got a bit more work to do in the front room, got to fit the shelf brackets for the shelves in the space under the TV position on the chimney breast.
Putting Scart & HDMI cables & Aerial ones in so all options of input are covered.
Cooked some cookies for the girls but my other lad and his lot ate about 5 of them, kept enough for the girls to have 2 each.
we watched SCD, XF & they have gone to bed after playing a game they had.
I'm now in the Puter room watching IAC,
Love these secret missions.
Will have to get up early as the girls dad is coming at 9am, they all want brekki as well.
Have plenty in though.
No chance of getting the car out now. I'll have to wait till the farm digger clears the drive, hopefully sometime next week.
There's been a snow plough down the road, so that is passable, but they've just pushed the snow onto the top of the drive, making that more difficult.
I walked down to the village for the papers. The round trip took 1 and a quarter hours, which works out as 4 miles an hour. Not too bad. Didn't have anything better to do, and gave me some exercise.
Hope you had a good brekki with your family Hicky?
And I hope you got your Chrissy shopping Mollie?
I've got a whole pile of ironing to do later, and of course I've got my Wii to keep me amused.
Hicky
sounds like your young visitors kept you busy. I bet they enjoyed those cookies.
I love the secret missions too. And how funny is Stacey doing them. You can tell they have that fella who did the clever tasks in last years BB, on the task design team now, can't you?
Emptybox
good idea to leg it to the village. You must of been walking fast to do that distance so quick. Were you tired after? Sounds like you are going to be snowbound some time yet.
I hope you have plenty of oil in stock. Did you get all your ironing done? You ought to buy some non iron clothes, to save your time, and give you more Wii time.
Wales had the coldest night ever recorded last night, went down to minus 18. Our back garden was showing minus 12 this morning, and is minus 10 already again. We havent had more snow though.
Today we went to a little Christmas parade in a small town not far away. they had about 4 reindeer pulling the sleigh, and 2 baby ones walking with their mothers. So cute. I wore several layers, before we set off to watch the parade.
here it is...
http://www.cowbridge.co.uk/loc...tmas-reindeer-parade
wonder who will leave X factor? I like Rebecca and Matt, but dont like Katie or Cher, and Wagner is
Also looking forward to IAC.
You do know it's still November, don't you? They shouldn't be having Christmas parades, or switching Christmas lights on in November.
If I were PM t'would be illegal.
Hope you enjoyed yourself nonetheless?
It was obviously colder with you last night than we had. It doesn't snow when it's really cold. Mind you, I think we had something like -6.
I've got plenty of oil at the moment. Enough for 3 or 4 weeks anyway, but it won't last forever, and it might still be snow by then. However it comes in a big lorry, which should be able to get down the drive anyway.
I only got some of my ironing done, but I get the impression there'll be plenty of time to finish it over the coming week.
I was sorry to see Katie go on the X-Factor.. I thought her 'urchin' cut was a great improvement to her look.
I don't usually like Mary, but I thought her second song, the Pretenders one, was very good.
Wow, 14" Emptybox, that's some snow that.
Had a good brekkie with the girls, we had sausage on toast and scrambled egg on toast.
Later me & O/H went to B&Q for a few bits, got the Rug for the front room.
Fitted the shelves for the Freesat box/Sky box, have now fitted the TV onto the wall, gave my SkyHD box to O/H for now.
Have ordered 2-off Humax Black Twin Freesat Recorder with HDMI and 320GB Hard Drive.
They should be delivered Tuesday.
Loved SCD & X-Factor, just watching IAC, Alison just lost, and has gone.
Hope you get on well with your Humax recorders.
ETA: Blast! I've just lost all my satellite signal.
I see there is snow piled up on the arm and LNB. It must have hit a critical level.
Hopefully it'll fall off itself, or I'll have to get the ladder out.
Luckily I've got Freeview as well.
Bad news losing your signal Emptybox.
Mine went off a couple of times for a few seconds last night, have got to get the Dish sorted, and aerial of course, might be a bit dodgy with all this frost, not easy to work on the roof, too dangerous I would think.
The roads are clear here, frost of course but no snow coming to work.
Needed gloves on for driving though, had to defrost the screen as well.
Brough a box of choc chip cookies in for the chef, she will be popping a few in the oven straight away I would think.
I was here at 6.30 so dropped them off into the canteen, she gets in early and they were still frozen.
Took the rest of the crab out of the legs yesterday and put it in the pan with best butter, have potted it into a bowl, it should keep better like that.
Lord Sugar wants to let all his followers know about a scam in supermarkets this Christmas that a fan advised him of recently
Just in time for the Christmas rush!
CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS BEFORE LEAVING THE CHECK-OUT / this is not a joke I bought a bunch of stuff, over ÂĢ150, & I glanced at my receipt as the cashier was handing me the bags. I saw a cash-back of ÂĢ40. I told her I didn't request a cash back & to delete it. She said I'd have to take the ÂĢ40 because she couldn't delete it. I told Her to call a supervisor. Supervisor came & said I'd have to take it.. I said NO! Taking the ÂĢ40 would be a cash advance against my Credit card & I wasn't paying interest on a cash advance!!!!! If they couldn't delete it then they would have to delete the whole order. So the supervisor had the cashier delete the whole order & re-scan everything!
The second time I looked at the electronic pad before I signed & a cash-back of ÂĢ20 popped up. At that point I told the cashier & she deleted it. The total came out right. The cashier agreed that the Electronic Pad must be defective. Obviously the cashier knew the electronic pad was defective because she NEVER offered me the ÂĢ40 at the beginning. Can you imagine how many people went through before me & at the end of her shift how much money she pocketed? Just to alert everyone. My co worker went to the Supermarket last week. She had her items rung up by the cashier.
The cashier hurried her along and didn't give her a receipt. She asked the cashier for a receipt and the cashier was annoyed and gave it to her. My co worker didn't look at her receipt until later that night. The receipt showed that she asked for ÂĢ20 cash back. SHE DID NOT ASK FOR CASH BACK! My co-worker called the Supermarket who investigated but could not see the cashier pocket the money. She then called her niece who works for the bank and her niece told her this. This is a new scam going on. The cashier will key in that you asked for cash back and then hand it to her friend who is the next person in the queue. Please, please, please check your receipts right away when using credit or debit cards!
This is NOT limited to any Supermarket. I am adding to this. My husband and I were in the Supermarket and paying with credit card when my husband went to sign the credit card signer he just happen to notice there was a ÂĢ20 cash back added. He told the cashier that he did not ask nor want cash back and she said this machine has been messing up and she canceled it. We really didn't think anything of it until we read this email. I wonder how many "seniors" have been, or will be, "stung" by this one???? To make matters worse ...
THIS SCAM CAN BE DONE ANYWHERE, AT ANY RETAIL OR WHOLESALE LOCATION!!! BEFORE LEAVING THE CHECK-OUT........CHECK YOUR RECEIPT!!!!! THIS COULD HAPPEN ANYWHERE. CHECK YOUR RECEIPT BEFORE LEAVING THE STAND. I'VE SEEN PEOPLE DO JUST THAT. NOW I'LL START!
