Happy Halloween

Good evening Hicky
you certainly did stock up at Costcos yesterday.
I fancy making some mushroom soup. Can you tell me what recipe you used ?
I bought a nice butternut squash, so will make a soup of that this week.
How did your visit to the garden centre go today? Did you buy more slate ?

We decorated the house with some haloween decs, because the kids fancied a bit of a halloween party. OH spent ages cutting out 2 pumpkins, but they looked good outside , with candles in them.

Did your OH find anything nice at Ikea?  I like going there, but it is so big, it makes me feel shattered walking round the place. Luckily the resteraunt there has some nice food though.

I wonder who will go on X factor?
Looking forward to Downton Abbey too tonight.

I hope Emptybox is having a good relaxing break.

And hope you are enjoying your weekend Hicky.
M
Hi Mollie.

I'll write the recipe out, not a lot involved, played a lot by ear but got the basics from someone on Digital Spy that makes her own soups.

I bought another 4 bags of slate, 2 x 50 litre bags of tree compost and a 70 Litre bag on Mini Bark chips.

O/H had bought some small tables a radiator grill/cover a couple of shelves with hidden supports, some paint, a bookcase type thingy. wallpaper for the chimney breast.
She has her 3 piece suite ordered, the Laminate flooring is ordered, she fancies a fantastic rug from B&Q, they are only about ÂĢ160 but really lush.

I've had a good weekend really, got plenty to do now outside, will get more stuff next week

Hope Emptybox is enjoying his break?
Hicky
Hi Mollie.

I'l type you this recipe while watching Secret Millionaire.

You require.
1 small onion chopped small
2 Spring Onions chopped small
500 gm closed cup mushrooms sliced thin, more if available
1 pint chicken or vegetable stock
6 Oz of Double Cream
Salt, Pepper, Spices according to taste.

In a medium sized frying pan fry the onions for a few minutes in a little butter
Add the mushrooms and fry for a few minutes
Transfer the mix to a medium sized pan adding the stock
Add more hot water if more soup is required
Add the Salt, Pepper etc to taste
Bring to the boil and simmer for 10 minutes
Turn off the heat, leave to coil for 5 minutes
Use the hand blender to turn the mushrooms to a fine mix.
Reheat the soup, don't leave boiling
Add about 6 oz of double cream
Stir the cream into the soup.
Taste if you need more seasoning, add as required.

Bonn appetite.
Hicky
Good Evening Mollie.

Was pretty busy at work today, but that's the way it goes.

It rained a lot last night, think it's rained today as well, not a good forecast.
In fact it's got rain in the forecast till next Sunday.

Don't know if I'll get any of my fruit tree's planted tomorrow, no hurry though, I've got till next march. should make it by then.
I've got a few jobs to do indoors as well.
Hicky
Good evening HIcky

thank you so much for taking the time to type out that recipe, I am sure I will enjoy that. Will odrer the ingredients when I do my online shop tommorrow. I bet Emptybox will make use of the recipe too, when he gets back,
I thought you may of been buying more slate.
Your OH was as busy in Ikea as you were in the garden centre.
Hope you enjoy your day off tommorrow after your busy day at work today.
But knowing you, I bet you have a busy at home tommorrow too. More fun being busy at home, than it is at work though, isn't it? Hope it is not too wet though.
What colour is the rug from B and Q? You might even be able to show it me on a  link. I like nice rugs.

We have bought some fireworks for Friday, but if it is pouring , we will have to wait until it is dry.
it was a nice day here today, which is fortunate because I managed to get lots of washing dry outside.

I hope Emptybox is enjoying himself.
I wonder how long it takes to drive all the way to Norfolk from where he lives?

I am watching that new travel/dining show with Rob Rhydon and Alan Partride on bbc2 now.
I had a little dance with my Wii game earlier. I like that game.

Goodnight Hicky  xx
Hope you have a nice lie in tommorrow for your day off.
M
Hi Mollie.

Not sure if we will be getting the Rug we saw but it was bright red, we have some wallpaper for the chimney breast with flowers the same colour, like red rose colour.
It's a ong drive for Emptybox, probably 8 hrs I would think at least, with a few stops to rest your legs.

I'll get some more deck wood, going to alter the steps a bit, was a suggestion by my lad, the project manager one, he's right though, moving part of it to one side as the other side won't get used.

That looks a nice place on your link, and all nice places are expensive.

I have been watching a food program again, the best restaurant, Gordon Ramsey show, and one was a Moroccan restaurant with Lamb Tagine, I could smell it from my room.
Am going to get the stuff to make it as soon as I can.
I'll show you the recipe I got off the web, there are a few but not a lot of difference.

Moroccan Lamb Tagine

1&1/2 kilos of Lamb shoulder/leg
1 Large onion
3 Cloves of garlic
1 inch piece of ginger
2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon coriander seeds
2 x tins of chopped tomatoes
tomato purÃĐe
2 tablespoons of clear honey
olive oil

Finely chop 1 large onion and gently fry in olive oil
Finely chop 3 cloves of garlic and grate the 1 inch piece of ginger and fry along with the onions.
Add 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon and 1 teaspoon of crushed coriander seeds and gently fry.
Add 2 tins of chopped tomato's and a squeeze of tomato purÃĐe
Add the chopped up lamb and 2 tablespoons of honey to the mixture.
put in the oven and cook at 130 for 2 hours.
Hicky
Good morning HIcky
thanks for that other recipe, I am sure that is something my family would enjoy.
Hope your decking turns out well, now you have replanned it, with your lads advice.
I bet a red rug will look so nice with the matching wallpaper.   Give the room a nice warm feel.
That hotel in the link was the hotel they visited and ate at last night on that new bbc2 show. Looks like it will be an interesting series.

Very windy today, not sunny, but i still put washing out, reckon it will dry well in the wind.

I intend to make butternut squash soup today, and blueberry crumble for desert, so that wil keep me busy later.

is it you day off today? If so, hope it is dry , so you can get your outdoor stuff done.

time to do my online grocery shop. I will order the ingredients to make that mushroom soup.
M
Hi Mollie.

Got fuel then went to B&Q, got some more bags of rock salt while it's in, got 8 more 2.4m sections of decking, can do some changes and going at alter the top section and pattern it at an angle like this /////\\\\\ and the lower section is the other way-------.
My Sophie Reade 2011 Calendar came, should be nice for next year with Chanelle not doing a 20111 one.

My Australian Tea Tree oil came that someone said I should try.

Will sort the Moroccan recipe items out later in the week, making a Roast dinner for tonight while the O/H carries on painting the room.

Hope you Mushroom still is enjoyable? mine was.

Your Blueberry crumble sounds good, do you have custard on it?
Hicky
Hi Mollie.

Well that's Wednesday gone, rained all day, didn't get any work done outside, not to worry, no hurry.
Cooked the Belly Pork, the crackling was good anyway, all the spuds, onion and carrots got overdone being under the meat all that time, but thats what it said on the recipe on the joint.
Won't try that idea again,

71 North is on at 9pm, might take a look, only caught the end last week.
Something on at 10pm I wanted to see as well.

Work tomorrow, going to be a bit busy as well.
Hicky
Good Morning Mollie & Emptybox who is away at the mo.

Not a very productive day yesterday, rained all day, even had to waterproofs to put the bins out.

Brought some of the frozen choc chip dough pieces in for the canteen cook, they cooked them this morning, loved them.
Will get them a box next time I go if there's any left, they are American, as is Costco.

Saw a program last night and the bloke was diving for king Crabs, he said you can get them weighing 14 kilo and over a metre wide.
You wouldn't want that to get hold of your finger.
He cooked it straight after catching it, but it was only the same size as the ones I get.
But you get a big dish of meat from 1 leg.

Got to work tomorrow as well.
Hicky

Good evening Hicky
shame you lost a day in the garden yesterday with all that rain.
And what a shame your veg got burnt, some of these recipes are not so accurate as others.
yes I have custard on my blueberry crumble, delicious. Nice to have a warm pudding now it is autumn, not that it is very cold yet though.
Were you very busy at work today?

Did you watch the Apprentice tonight?  I enjoyed seeing all those fashions, loved the sparkly clothes, but that recycled menswear stuff was rubbish imo, and a rip off at those prices, esepcially as the materal was just old stuff being reused.   The right one got sacked imo.

king crabs weighing that much must be huge !! That would last you awhile.

Went to Lidl for a change today, some of their food quite nice, they had quite a lot of Greek food in at the moment. Bought some nice fitted sheets, to fit the thicker mattresses we have. Many fitted sheets are not deep enough for the deep mattresses, but Lidls are fine.

You pattern designs sound very artistic, and should look very nice when all done.

Good idea to look after the canteen cook.   I have never tried that uncooked cookie dough. It sounds nice. Daughter made some coffee cookers today. OH will take some to work, and I will have a couple with my morning coffee.

Hope they dont overwork you tommorrow.
and hope Emptybox is enjoying his quiet holiday break.

goodnight HIcky xx
M
Hi Mollie & Emptybox.

Weather lousy this week, hope next week is better.

I saw The Apprentice, think that female was right to go, mind you the lad was a pain as well.
But I did think he was right telling her that the clothes should be seen from outside the shop.

I imagine it takes a long time to make clothes from recycled clothes, a lot longer than making normal ones, that's why they were expensive.

I think the sparkly ones catch you eye straight away and must be a good seller, not many people don't like that sort of thing.

I can't imagine a crab that size, mind you I've got a picture on my wall by my desk at work with the trawlerman holding a King Crab up in front of him and the legs and body must be 5ft long, the body is as wide as his chest and he's a big man.

I like the Greek food, very tasty, mind you I like all food. Pity you can't get to a Costco by you, you don't have to pay much a year to join and you would love it, they have loads of clothes as well, kitchen goods, TV's gardening stuff, Tools meat, cakes toilet rolls in bags of 48 rolls at a time, sweets in massive packs.Cooking oil in big drums.Anyway, they will be in soon so I'll probably be busy, catch you later.

Hope Emptybox is enjoying his strange surroundings.
Hicky
Hi Mollie and Hicky.
I think that might be a special chair that Blakely is sitting on? Unless he's a giant baby?

Yes, i have returned from my sojourn in the wilderness.
I had a really good time, and I didn't really miss the internet and TV at all.
Anyway there's been a small change in my Uncle's house since my last visit. They have now got a small TV that's been modified so it won't get a TV signal (to avoid having to get a TV licence), but they seem to have more videos and DVDs than I have.   We only watched videos a couple of times though.

I enjoyed catching up with my relatives, and i had a few excursions, and a few meals out, so I had a good time.
My youngest cousin has bought herself a new house. A very pretty thatched cottage with pinky coloured walls, very old and characterful. So i loved seeing that.

The journey took just under 7 hours, including stops and meal breaks, but it wasn't too bad really. A lot of it is on fast motorways. The second half of the journey today was in rain, which wasn't very nice though.
The weather wasn't too bad in Norfolk this week. A bit dull, but not too much rain. And it was far milder than at home. They haven't needed any heating on, although they have an Aga, which keeps the kitchen warm all the time.

I'll have to look over your recipes Hicky, but I think I may just get my mushroom soup out of a can.

I'd forgotten it is bonfire night tomorrow Mollie. I don't think I'll bother with any fireworks.

I've got a lot of shopping to do tomorrow, because my brother and family are coming to stay on Saturday. Just for one night though.
emptybox
Hi Emptybox
welcome home.
glad to hear you had a good break, what a nice relaxing change to go without all our techy stuff. Yes I guess it did feel a lot milder down the south for you. I still find it very mild here too. We have only had the heating on once here this autumn for about an hour. You will be busy if you have visitors coming Saturday. But it will be nice for you to have company again. Glad to hear the weather there wasn't too wet, we have certianly had our share of rain here this week.

Hicky
lets hope it dries up a bit soon, so you can finish off what you want to in the garden.
at what Emptybox said about the baby on the chair. He does look very cute, but that chair does look like an adults chair in the piccy.

had a busy day, should of finished the vat stuff, but am behind again, will have to sort it out tommorrow now.

goodngiht all xx
M
Good Evening Mollie & Emptybox.

Welcome back Emptybox.

Think Blakely's seat is a miniature made for him, but you can buy them in the shops I imagine.

That's funny your Uncle not getting the TV channels, wouldn't want to stay there myself.

Not bothering with Bonfire night here, can hear a few fireworks.

Got some work done in the garden, had to prioritise the work, only managed to get half the changes to the French Window step decking done and it started raining again.

Have been spraying the new light fitting, have got a can of Suede, done a lot of it, maybe a touch left to finish.

My Lad is coming tomorrow to move the pipework and fit the new Radiator on the other wall.
He's going to start the laminate flooring as well.

Weather forecast says 'Few showers' so I might get some work done in the garden again, in-between showers.
Hicky
Evening.

I decided to take today off to complete my holiday week. Won't be working tomorrow either because my brother and family are coming.

I had a lot of shopping to do today anyway. Then tomorrow, before they come, I'll have all the beds to sort out.
Luckily we are going out for a meal tomorrow evening, so I won't have to make that.

Hope you got your VAT done Mollie.
It's the time of month where I've got to get my invoices out, and my accounts done.

It's very handy that your lad is able to do all those jobs for you Hicky. Must save you a lot of time and money.
Hope it's dry for you tomorrow.

Looking forward to watching 'The Event' tonight 9pm CH4. It's been good so far.
emptybox
Good afternoon all

well it is nice and dry so far here today, so hope it is dry for you HIcky so you can get in your garden to finish off your outdoor jobs.
And hope you managed to organise the beds and your shopping Emptybox, and hope you enjoy them visiting.

we postponed our fireworks till tonight, because it was too wet last night.
the kids will have some burgers and hot dogs and toffe apples.
We are going to our local seaside theatere to the The Rat Pack tonight. I saw them on This Morning last year, they look quite good, imperonate Frank sinatra type stuff.

Is that programme The Event good Emptybox?

Is it next week that IAC starts?  I have seen it advertised on tv, but they dont say when it starts.
I have a bit of a cold, but not a bad one, just rather annnoying, still went out this morning, but it did make me feel too tired to try new clothes on today.

have a good day. xx
M
Good Evening Mollie & Emptybox.

That's always a safe bet, take them out for a meal, why bother spending all that time cooking and clearing up.
Pointless, if your on your own.

Just as well postponing your fireworks, awful if it's raining.
Hope the fireworks went ok tonight and the burgers etc.

Hope your cold doesn't catch hold Mollie, you can do without that.

Looking forward to IAC next Sunday.

Have been in the garden, rained on and off so had to keep covering all the tools etc up each time it started.
Finished the steps for the French Windows, they are 7ft 6ins high by the way, (that's the doors by the way).

Planted one of my new Rhubarb tuber's in a big 75litre tub, got another to plant when I get another tub from the garden centre, might go tomorrow as I need stuff anyway for the trees.

My Lad and his mate fitted the flooring in the back room, not a lot to do now, O/H will do a bit of wallpaper then we can get the TV up on the fire-breast.

Have sprayed the new fitting, need to get that changed now as well.
Hicky
Good Evening Mollie & Emptybox.

I was up early, not sure why, do have a lot to do, and it was dry outside which helped me get up.

Changed the living room lamp fitting, cleared up round the new steps and laid weed control sheet and put down the 8 bags of slate, need another 8 though at least.

Was going to go to the garden centre but it started to go very cold so called it off.

All the leaves are falling off my vines and fruit tree's will see if my leaf vac will pick them up, but doubtful when they are wet.
Hicky
Evening.

I had a lovely meal out last night, and my visitors are now away home.

It was very cold here this morning. I had to scrape the ice off my windscreen before going for the papers.
It was quite sunny though, but it's turned to rain now.

Glad you managed to get most of your jobs done Hicky.

Hi Mollie. Hope your kids enjoyed the fireworks, and you had a good time at the theatre.

I think 'The Event' is very good Mollie. It's a bit like that thing on Channel 5 that i liked a while back, 'Flash forward'. A mix between sci-fi and drama. Just my kind of thing.

Hope your cold isn't holding you back?

I'm just watching the repeat of 'The Apprentice' because I missed it during the week.
Don't tell me who goes, but i really hope it's that Paloma.

Good evening all

Hicky
sounds like you have been very busy all weekend again. Lucky it has been a nice dry weekend. I know what you mean about the wet leaves, there are loads of them on our driveway, but OH says he will leave them a day or two, to give them a bit more time for them all to fall off.

I hope Emptybox is having a good weekend with his visitors, and he is not too exhausted looking after them.

I felt a bit off today, with this cold , so didnt go far, just took dog a little walk, hopefully it will be on the way out tommorrow.

enjoyed Downtown Abbey tonight, glad it is to be back next year.

hope you both enjoyed your weekend.

goodnight all  x
M
Good Morning Mollie & Emptybox.

You both posted almost together last night.
I had gone to bed at 10.30 with getting up at 5.30.

Didn't have any frost yesterday, but mighty cold all the same.

Glad you visitors are on their way back Emptybox, that was a quick stay eh.

Never really bothered with the fireworks, you are allowed near bonfires any more so don't see the point in going, far too cold to stand around looking up at the sky, I'm past that phase.

Nearly all the leaves are off now, wonder why some stay on, I suppose the tree's are getting the goodness back out of them a few at a time.

Don't think I'll be too busy here today, I was in on Thursday, so not much outstanding.

I made that Moroccan Lamb Tagine, wasn't that impressed, only used 0.5 kilo of Neck Fillet, O/H bought it, but on tasting it after it was ready found it wasn't spicy enough for me, added some Madras/Vindaloo past to liven it up, gave my Lad a dish as well, I got 2 meals out of it.
Have got a fillet of beef for tonight, love it with loads of fried onions and mushrooms, have those French Fries as well, it's heaven.
Just on my second cup of tea, have ordered some little batteries for the boss from RS online.

Looking forward to brekki now.
Hicky
Good morning all

Emptybox
like Hicky says, we posted together last night.
Glad you enjoyed your meal out, and hope you enjoyed having your visitors stay. Did you go to a local pub with your visitors for a meal?  Did your young nephews come with your brother?
You have been busy catching up with your missed tv from when you were away. The Aprrentice was good. Glad you are enjoying The Event.
Did you manage to watch the last episode of Downtown Abbey last night? Execllent series, that was. At least we have IAC to replace it next week.
Yes we did enjoy our fireworks thank you. We got some from Aldi again, and they were a very good display for what we paid. The Rat Pack were also very good, the one who played Frank Sinatra was an X factor finalist some years ago, apparently.
Is it back to your garden work today?

Hicky
Glad to hear you are not too bogged down with work today.
Hope you enjoy your beef tonight more than you enjoyed your Moroccon lamb.I love fried onions too, had loads of them with my musrhoom burger on Saturday.
Did you manage to get a brekkie to go with your cups of tea today?
I had a cinnamon raisin bagel with Philadelphia cheese for brekkie for a change today. Very ncie it was.
Still got this bloomin cold, but luckily it is not a bad one, just annoying. OH just phoned and said he is coming home early because he has the cold too, and it is annoying him at work.

Well, have to finish all this vat paperwork now, and peg a bit of washing out in the sun.

have a good day. xx
M
Hi guys.
It's wet here today, so no gardening, but it's not as cold either.

A lot of the trees have lost their leaves here, but some are still hanging on to them. It depends on the species really. Beech trees tend to hang on to their leaves for a long time, and I've got a big beech tree out the back that still has a lot of leaves on it yet.

I enjoyed Downton Abbey last night, and I'm glad it was Paloma that went, on The Apprentice.

We went out to a nice local pub/restaurant, that has a good reputation, for our meal, and the food was excellent. Also they have some nice cask ales (which I appreciate). The two boys came too. I had a sirloin steak.
It was a joint celebration. It was my brother and sister-in-law's anniversary on the 5th (22yrs), my birthday tomorrow, and my youngest nephew's birthday on wednesday.

Hope you get your VAT done Mollie. I'll have to do my invoices and my accounts as well.
Pity about your cold.
emptybox
Good Late Afternoon.

Been busier than I expected, they hate to see me enjoying myself whole they pay my wages.

Will chat tonight, had a good brekki and having my steak, fillet is the only steak really worth bothering with, the rest is too hit and miss, can't stand that as you can be disappointed if you get a bad one, which often happens, too much grissle etc.
Hicky
Good Evening Mollie & Emptybox.

Picked a lot of the leaves off the slate with the big Flymo leaf sucker/blower it did the job anyway, will use it again when more leaves fall off.

Went to B&Q, got the scissors and a few bits, drilled the 4" hole in the plasterboard for the cables coming down from the TV when it's up on the wall.

God a big hot-dog while at B&Q, have some fillet steak in the fridge for tonight.

Just watching CDWM, Coach Trip on now with Imogen Thomas and Bianca and a few others.
Hicky
Emptybox

I hope you had a nice relaxing day, and I am glad you got to go out for a nice meal over the weekend, with your family, to celebrate your special day. Your nephew's birthday is very close to your own.

did you enjoy Coach Trip?  I am enjoying it.   I used to like Raef in the Apprentice, and I bet you have noticed how pretty Immogen is.
Yes I too was glad to see the back of that Paloma.

Enjoy your birthday evening. xx
M
Good evening all

Hicky
still busy on your day off I see.
hope you enjoyed your steak.
sounds like you are all set up for that wallpapering now you have those scissors.

I am going to watch Turn back the Time on bbc1 in a minute, it was quite interesting last week, they set up and served old produce in shops how they used to be a long time ago.

My cold is getting better, no runny nose, but my nose feels all blocked now.   Have been off my food and only eating lighty for a few days, but enjoyed it a bit more today.
M
Thanks for the birthday greeting Mollie.
I just had a relaxing day really. Due to the wet weather.

I didn't really think much of Coach Trip to be honest.
Imogen is gorgeous, but a bit annoying.

I watched that Turn Back Time thing though. That was good.

Glad your cold is getting a bit better, but what a nuisance a blocked nose is? Especially when you are trying to get to sleep.
emptybox
Good afternoon all

what a lovely day it is here today.  Hope it is in your areas too.

Emptybox
I bet you will be out in the gardens after your rest day due to rain yesterday. Nice to have a break on your birthday though.
Yes Coach Trip, the puppet task was a bit dull yesterday, but I still like this show. I think Brendon is great, has a lot of patience with those passengers.   And I like Come dine with Me too.

I wonder if you are out in the garden today Hicky? Knowoing you, you will be busy doing something or other.

Cold on the way out, but still feel a bit blocked up.   At least it was not a bad cold that leaves you with a cough though.

have a good day. xx

looking forward to the Apprentice tonight. Looks like it may be a funny episode.
M
Good Afternoon Mollie and Emptybox.

Been Busy today at work. And think it's been a lovely day too.On the forecast it said Sun.

Happy Birthday Emptybox.

Hope you have a great day, mind you, you may be working.
Didn't think much of coach trip myself.

Watched the shops from the past thingy, that was ok. (Turn back time)

Hope your blocked nose eases, so annoying.

Will be watching the Apprentice tonight as well
Got more work to do now as well.
Hicky
Afternoon.

Thanks for the 'Happy Birthday' for yesterday Hicky.

It was dry and sunny here as well, but very frosty this morning. I got some work done this afternoon though. The first for a while.
It's gets dark quickly now though, so i have to finish well before 5pm.

Glad your cold is on the way out Mollie.

I'm looking forward to The Apprentice later as well.

I'm thinking about getting myself a Wii. One of my cousins had one, and we had great fun on it, when I was down.
Not sure wether to get a new one though, or wether to find one on Ebay?
I see Amazon has them new for ÂĢ160.

I see the PS3, with it's new 'Move' system, is supposed to be better than the Wii at motion control, and would have better graphics, but you're looking at over ÂĢ300 for that, once you buy a game.
The Wii at least comes with a couple of games in the bundle.

But then again. Will I get any time to play it?
emptybox
Evening Emptybox.

Sorry if I was late for your Birthday, don't know what happened there.

Didn't see much of today, saw outside from the roof of the factory, the canteen is on the roof, the Sun was out then at 10am this morning.

I'm not fit enough for the Wii, so I'll leave that to you fit lads.

Enjoyed the Apprentice tonight.

Day off tomorrow but it says more rain.
Hicky
Good Evening Mollie & Emptybox.

Yes, Emptybox, the roof Canteen has been there many years and is there for the Press shop workers really, it has a few doors onto the roof and the whole area is glass windows, they have a tint plastic on the glass to stop the Sun, but there are patches missing.
You can see what the weather is fine, it's a massive roof and you can walk across it's many walkways, not used a lot these days because you can't go into the Paint shop which is on the roof unless you have special clothing, it is of course a dust-free zone.

Very windy here today, had to go and help my neighbour this afternoon, the wind had uprooted his walk in greenhouse and thrown it and all the plants all over the garden, we collected the stuff up and took the cover off the greenhouse and put it in the garage.

I have been working on the new area in the fire grate, it's been redone and lined with plasterboard, I was fitting shelves and getting the cables through from the TV, that's now on the wall, just got to get a loose single socket on a lead and pass it through the side of the chimney breast, hole already in for cable.

Will try and get to the garden centre tomorrow, still need more gear, also fancy a Fig Tree, love the leaves, will look into it anyway.
Doesn't seem much on the TV tonight.

Had someone come to measure up for the new blinds in the back room, not getting curtains, too many problems.
Will need 5 blinds to do the job.
Hicky
Good evening all

Emptybox
glad you got some dry weather to catch up workwise.
I think the Wii games are great.
The X box also has one that doesnt need a hand control, it picks up body movement, but because you have to buy the console and the exta machine for the sensor, it works out a lot more money. Oh and then you have to get the games. So all round, I dont think Wii is bad for the money. My kids like the racing game, with the streering wheel as a controler. My fave is the dancing games.

Hicky
I see you have a long line of jobs to get on with again, during your days off. A fig tree sounds nice, not sure what their leaves are like they? How often would you be able to get figs from them?
It is very windy here too.
Good job your neighbour had you around to lend a hand.

I am shattered tonight, took the kids to see Cary's War at the theatre in Cardiff. I believe it was a novel and a film originally. The end of this cold has left me more tired than normal, so it did restrict my shopping somewhat, but I did manage to try on a short straight black frock with gold and silver trim round the top of it on over my frock I was wearing today, so I wouldnt have to queue at the changing rooms in Primark. And it fitted perfectly. Very nice for ÂĢ11.
Hope you make it to the Garden Centre tommorrow HIcky.

goodnight all xx

The end of Idiot Abroad tonight. I will miss it, a brilliant series. I see it is coming out on dvd, not surprised, would recommend it Emptbybox, as you didn't see it on tv. I also saw the book in tescos, think I will put that on my Christmas list.
