Have you ever wondered why Amanda Holden has a place on the Britain's Got Talent judging panel? After all, she's just an actress, right? Well, it turns out that Amanda is a pretty good singer as well â and she's certainly not shy about showing off her talents in public. This video shows the star singing Santa Baby at the Ferrero Christmas Concert this weekend and, aside from the fact that she's dressed like an actual Ferrero Rocher, she's doing a pretty good job. She definitely sounds better than we do on the karaoke at the work Christmas party - and actually a whole lot better than some people who sing for a living. Have a listen to Amanda Holden in action and then tell us your thoughts? Does she make you want to eat Ferrero Rochers? That's all we can think about now.
As today is the 1st of December, thought I would dig out a seasonal pic in the countdown to Christmas.
Hicky..
Glad you worked out what was wrong with your oven. Hope you can fix it now without too much trouble. Thanks for the Corrie stuff again.
That is good that your OH is enjoying the home made soups now too. They are good for you in this weather. No ice here yet, but it was frosty here this morning, but didn't last for long. It has been raining this afternoon.
Emptybox
Yes I am all for saving energy too, I tend to put an extra jumper on instead of turning up the heating, and I do not waste food, carrier bags etc, and think we should not pollute the air. But I really don't think man has caused this extent of warming to the planet that they want us to believe. Very convenient excuse imo, to to tax us more though, and so many have vested interest in promoting it, with their fancy jobs on the back of global warming, or "climate change" as they call it when it isn't warming. I think the earth and its climate is too powerful for us to change it so much. I read that volcanos give off loads of CO2, yet they havent been proven to change temperature. I will have to read what David Bellamy says about it because I heard he actually believes we are starting to head into a cooling phase now.
OH has got the decorations and tree out of the garage now it is December. I guess I should make a start on my Christmas cards now else I will miss the last postal date for Oz.
If either of you are interested, Delia's Classic Chrsitmas is on tonight, think i will record it incase there is any recipes I fancy.
Hicky... do you like this singer?
http://www.pixielott.com/site/...ngs/songs/turn_it_up
I do, I really like her voice, especially her new single "Turn it Up".. you should be able to hear it on that site.
Wonder who will leave on IAC?
I hope it is Stuart or Sabrina. I find them so dull, and I think itv are pretending there is a "romance", but I dont think he is at all interested in her. I think Kim or Gino will win this year.
after my last post, I decided to look up David Bellamy's theory on global warming. Found this very interesting article. It seems the bbc did not like what he was saying...hhhmmm....
His theory makes sense to me,
http://www.dailyexpress.co.uk/posts/view/69623
That is an interesting article Mollie.
I suppose only time will tell who's right?
In the meantime a lot of money will no doubt get wasted.
I quite like the sound of Pixie Lott. Her single is great. Think it's called 'Cry Me Out' though? Was 'Turn it Up' the previous one?.
this is an early time for you to post today.
did you manage to get your garden work done or was it too wet there today?
Yes it is interesting to hear what David Bellamy thinks about the climate, because he is such an experienced scientist.
dizzy me got the song titles mixed up again, yes her new single is "Cry me Out", and is the one i meant, I often hear it on radio 1. Thought Hicky and you would like her.
Hope you were nice and warm at home.
Pixie lott seems very nice, looks nice and sings nice.
Not bothered who will leave th jungle, think Gino will probably win, not bothered about the rest.
Don't watch the ITV2 show later anymore, it's too boring with lots of nobodies talking rubbish about things.

It's just that no-one wants to hear do they?
They should try to prove he is wrong first before they get on their high horse.

What is the point of any scientist doing research if he is not allowed to give his opinion?
Google Street View brings Coronation Street fans closer to the street
Betty's killer hot-pot
A spoiler in today's Sun says that Betty fears she's killed someone after they eat one of her famous hot pots. The "victim", 91, is Betty's rival for the title of Manchester's Oldest Barmaid. Betty turns 90 in the soap in February nex year.
However, local Enid Crump (what a great name!) is furious because she is 91 and still works in The Parsons Arms boozer. She storms into the Rovers and creates merry hell. Steve offers her a sherry and a hotpot to calm her down but can only find one at the back of the fridge. He microwaves the meal, not realising it is two months old. Later, he and Betty discover Enid has been rushed to a doctor and is at death's door with food poisoning. By 'eck.
Amanda Holden can sing REALLY well! Who knew?

Corrieâs Maggie Jones dies
Wednesday, 2nd December 2009.
Coronation Street star Maggie Jones has died in hospital at the age of 75.The RADA-trained actress â who played loveable busybody Blanche Hunt in the ITV1 soap â passed away this morning.
She had been ill following an emergency life-saving operation in October.
A Corrie spokesperson said: "Maggie had been making a slow recovery but her condition deteriorated early Wednesday morning and she passed away peacefully in her sleep."
Corrie legend Bill Roache led the tributes to Maggie, telling PA: "Maggie was a big part of the Barlow family and a brilliant actress.
âShe was a tower of strength, physically frail but mentally strong as an ox and sharp as someone half her age.
âShe had an amazing dry wit and was as funny if not funnier than Blanche.
âWe were great crossword partners, we sat through Tracy's trial scenes doing the crossword together."
"I don't think Maggie ever realised how much she was loved not only by everyone on the show but by the millions of Blanche fans out there. She will be greatly missed."
Just last month Corrie Executive Producer Kim Crowther revealed during a live web chat: "Maggie is making a slow and steady recovery and we wish her all the best and can't wait till she comes back to work."
She added: "Hopefully Maggie will be with us when she can be."
Details of the actress's funeral arrangements have yet to be made.

Not a bad day here, and I think it's slightly warmer here tonight. Don't seem to need the heating up as far, anyway.
Had a nice chat with Aisleyne on here earlier. It was postponed from Yesterday.
I saw in the paper today that another scientist agrees with you about climate change Mollie.
http://www.express.co.uk/posts...limate-change-fraud-
There'll probaly be loads more coming out now.
I do think we have a problem with pollution though. And there does seem to be a real problem with the ozone layer decreasing. Probably, at least in part, down to CFCs etc.
But it does seem that global warming being soley down to CO2 emissions, is a bit of a con?
Hope you enjoyed your Chat Emptybox.
It's hard to know what to believe with this Global warming.
Think the facts may be tampered with.
A lot of what they tell us gets changed over time.

3rd December so piccy 3 is
Hicky...
Thanks for the news.
What have you been up to on your day off?
It was cold here today, had a bit of sleet.
thanks for the news stuff.such a shame that Corrie has lost Maggie Jones . She played Blanche so well.
Emptybox
thanks for the global warming article , very intesting.
Yes as you say probably more will be coming out with what they truly think now. But I agree, that we should cut down on pollution. I never did believe that humans could really change the global climate though.
Hicky... have you put up your Chrstmas tree yet ? I remember the nice pics we saw of it last year. OH has got ours out of the garage, but we haven't got round to putting them up yet.
Not sure who I want to win IAC, but I do like all 4 of them.
I think they have all been nice to each other, and all done well in the trials.
Very wet here today, so no work.
I was watching that programme on BBC1 about the Human Powered House.
It was quite good.
The shower, cooker and electric kettle seem to use the most power.
Predictable, I suppose.
Mind you the woman seemed to leave the oven on for ages with nothing in it. I don't do that.
It's December, so I suppose it's alright to mention Christmas?
I looked to see if I've got any Christmas cards in the house (to send).
There are 6 in the cupboard....so that's 6 lucky people.
Lovely Christmas pic Mollie, I haven't done a lot today, went out for a meal at lunchtime, I had a steak and kidney pudding with mash and gravy.
Had a bit of hail stone, but window cleaners came round today.
The Christmas tree is still in the garage, bit early yet.
Have to see my accountant next week to sort things out for the end of company year and end of personal year.
Going to West Kirby in the morning, need to get my tablets and have to see them in the bank, they say I am paying too many charges.
Going to see the little 3 yr old in the afternoon at his pre-school play.
That should be funny.
Take it easy with the Christmas card this year Emptybox, everyone should be going green and saving the timber and sending emails, or a text.
That makes a change.
I usually only send a couple of cards, but I guess I'll have to send a few more now.
Not looking forward to receiving ones from folk who don't know my Dad has passed away.
Hicky...
sounds like you have a busy day off today.
I hope you enjoy the littlies pre-school play, I bet they are so cute.
Today's piccy as we are in December...
Emptybox... I hope you have a drier day today to get some work done. I am hopeing we are saving on power from the cooker now we have the halogen oven, it seems to oven cook stuff so much quicker.
I made some home made butternut squash soup yesterday, My fave soup, extra nice now the squash is in peak season.
Time to go to post office to post last of cards to Oz, and pay in a cheque that my aunt sent to us for Christmas.
Would it be easier for you to send a card to them first, with a note in it about your father? Or do you not know who he used to get cards from?
but I expect you would have to do that quickly before they start arriving?
Todays Piccy is nice.
Had a goood Day really.
Picked ny prescription up, called in the Docs, they found the heart scan results, they are normal, so over to plan 'B' but that Doc is on Holiday for a couple of weeks so I might leave it for now.
Saw the Bank, it's not the Bank charges, it's what we are paying out on certain things that we could make savings on.
Saw the little one, he didn't bother singing but he enjoyed clapping when the rest did.
Made a couple of Toasties, cheese & onion, yum yum, my O/H had one as well, she wanted another but couldn't be bothered to make it.
We have some chops for Tea anyway.
Not sure what the best think for you to do Emptybox.
But if you have the addresses send them a card and mention that he has passed away, not a lot else you can do.
Last night in the Jungle tonight, think Gino will win.
George would have if he hadn't left.
Another very frosty day here.
Glad your heart scan was normal Hicky.
Didn't think the bank would want to let you off any of their charges.
I've got some mince cooking away for my supper tonight.
I'm not bothered who wins in the jungle. Haven't really been watching it since Sam Fox left.
Not that I was ever a Sam Fox fan, but the ones who are left are a bit boring IMO.
Re. the Chrissy cards.
I do have a list of who sent my Dad a card last year, but the ones that I know will already know he's not around.
I haven't got a clue who half the others are? There are addresses for some in the address book, but I don't fancy sending cards to strangers.
I think I'll wait to see who sends him a card, and if I have their address, I'll send a wee note back.
I mocked this up. Wonder if you thought this would be appropriate to send?
I'd sign it on the back, of course.
Tasteful card

I've a little bit of the paintwork missing were a big flying stone slammed into the side of the car, it hit the O/S door glass at an angle and then hit the window frame, I think all the car is rustproof steel really but it needs sorting.
It even scratched the glass, and that takes some doing.
We are going to the Hungry Horse at 2pm with one of my Lads and his G/F and 3 little ones for a meal, so I just had a quick bacon butty early on so i'm not too full when we eat.
Looking forward to SCD & X-Factor tonight anyway.
It's pretty close now, can almost smell the Turkey cooking.
Hope you have been keeping well, my Chrisy trees are still in their boxes in the garage.
Hicky....
Glad to hear the heart scan was fine.
that flying stone sounds bad, good job it didn't smash any glass. Hope it doesn't cost too much to repair.
at the littlie not bothering to sing.I bet he still looked cute though.
at your OH eating the cheese and onion toasties as fast as you can make them.
Did you enjoy your meal out? I bet it wasn't a quiet meal out with 3 little ones coming along.
I too am looking forward to X factor. Wonder who will go this week?
Emptybox...
another frost? Must be all this man made, made up global warming?
A "tastefull card? Not sure about the "tastefull"... if an elderly lady was to be a receipient of said card, it may necessitate her to call on the smelling salts.
Hi Boldjohn
hope you are well. Yes nearly the end of 2009 already....
today OH and I went to Asda for brekkie, then to Tescos later. I bought our box of Christmas crackers for this year. They are unusual because they are brussel sprout crackers, each sprout cracker is very colourfull, with a black and white plastic eyes, and on the box it tell us that each cracker contains a "A Racing Sprout, snap, motto and hat"..... Daughter was with me when we chose our crackers. It did seem to take a bit of gentle pursuasion on my part to her, that this year these crackers were the ones for us. But she caved in, in the end.
Day 5 of December, and I like horses, so today's advent pic is....
It was a good job the stone missed the screen, think it would have gone right through.
I was charged ÂĢ69 inc Vat but they do it at your house.
Think it took him about 3.1/2 hours but it was annoying looking at it every day.
Feel like a Toastie at the Mo, was going to get one but with the TV shows on all night I haven't had time.
Had a great meal this afternoon, 7 of us inc 2 little ones and 1 of about 9 and with all the meals and drinks it came to ÂĢ46, so that wasn't bad really.
I just had Popperdoms with chutney and spicy meat balls in Balti sauce with rice, very nice too.
Loved SCD and X-Factor
Hope Stacey gets through to the Final.
I quite like sprouts with my turkey, but not sure I'd thank you if one popped out of my cracker?
Aplologies for my rather black humour (I was in a funny mood yesterday). I'll make sure not to send that card to any elderly ladies.
Hi Hicky. That paint job on the landrover doesn't sound good. Hope the guy fixed it. ETA: I see he did.
Hi John.
I can't remember which BBLB link you are referring to? Probably back in the mists of time? But glad you liked it.
The X-Factor is too close to call this week, so I've broken my habit and given Stacey a vote.
Ollie's first song was good, but his second song wasn't as well done.
Joe was great with both songs
Stacey's first song was good, and her second one was superb.
Danyl first song was not good at all, to my ears, but he was good in his second one.
Went to the Frankfurt Christmas market in Birmingham on a family day out and really liked it, apart from the fact it was really cold but we did stuff ourselves with food and had some drinks, really busy but the Bullring is such a massive place as you have to go through it to get there.
I met Hicky in the IACGMOOH chat and I found him to be a lovely person. I would just like to say that you all sound like nice peeps and I might call in again if you wouldn't mind. I'm from Glasgow, Scotland. (Incase you didn;t know) if you think you can stand me in your clique e-mail me. I will call in again tomorrow. Slanje var
That must have been the same market that Mollie was at darlo.
We don't have a clique Cerberus, anyone can join in.
BTW shouldn't that be slainte mhath.
Emptybox....Don't be daft, you don't have to apoligise. it is humour that helps us keep sane through difficult times. And, even though that card was black humour, it was rather witty. And I do know you wouldn't really dream of sending it to an old lady. (.......without those smelling salts anyway! )
Do you have your brother's dog to look after over over Christmas hols? Or is he not skiing this year?
I think Joe was the best on X Factor, I think Olly was the poorest.
Forgot to ask you, what did you ask Ais in the chat?I always thought she was rather scary with all that ghetto talk she does.
... Went to the Frankfurt Christmas market in Birmingham on a family day out and really liked it, apart from the fact it was really cold but we did stuff ourselves with food and had some drinks, really busy but the Bullring is such a massive place as you have to go through it to get there
Darloboy
Hope you are well.
Yes Emptybox is right, those are the markets we too had a family outing to last weekend. It wasn't too busy on the Friday afternoon we went, but it was getting really busy as it went into evening time. We thought they were lovely, and we made good use of the food stalls too. My favourite was the stick full of fresh strawberries dipped in Belgium choccy. Yummy...
And we got lost trying to get out of the Bullring.
Yes we havent't seen Kev or Mike around for ages.
Hope you are all having a good weekend.
Welcome to Cerberus.
As Emptybox says, no clique here. All posters, old and new, treated alike, and welcomed alike.
Hicky.. glad you got your car sorted.
that meal sounds good value, considering the amount of you that went. Glad you enjoyed it.
I think Stacy will make it to the final. Did you get chance to make your toastie, inbetween all your tv watching?
Not sure what we are doing today, may go down the seafront with dog if weather dry this afternoon. Or just stay in and do the Chrismas decs.
