Emptybox..hope it is dry up there for you to get the gardens done. I had forgotten I had one of those quilts too, I got it from Ikea, but in winter I have never been cold enough to stick the 2 bits together, so I only use the thin bit in summer and the thick one on its own in winter.I too am sleeping better now that humid weather has gone at last, I always sleep with the window open , so it is good to have cool air coming in at last.

Hicky....I'll go and have a look at those Diane pics now.
Looks like she is going to do really well for herself.

Hi Mollie.

They have been collected now anyway.

Emmerdale, Eastenders, Coronations Street

TV 22.10.09 Emmerdale

EMMERDALE ITV1, 7pm & 8pm

After a holiday in Vegas, Cain’s back and he and Charity have lots of arguing they need to catch up on.

He kicks off by telling Jai Charity’s an ex-prostitute, and slagging her off for being past her sell-by date.

“Get your filthy hands off me,” shouts Charity. A second later they’re snogging each other’s faces off.

Next, Charity’s telling Cain it will never work between them and he offers her ÂĢ20k to leave the village.

You might think you’ve sat on the fast forward button and you’ve accidentally whizzed through several years of their relationship. But it all happens in one afternoon.

EASTENDERS BBC1, 7.30pm

Denise is never happier than when she’s got something to be completely outraged about, so her timing’s spot on tonight as she reappears just in time to find Libby celebrating her engagement.

But even before she can get properly angry about that, she spots Owen skulking off, giving her plenty to rant happily about for weeks to come.

Meanwhile, the list of unusual suspects in the Who’s The Daddy mystery is presented. So which of these do you reckon is the father of Heather’s baby George: Phil, Darren, Billy, Minty, or none of the above?

My money’s on launderette owner Mr Papadopoulos – the closest thing Heather’s ever likely to get to George Michael.

CORONATION STREET ITV1, 8.30pm

With all the Connors gathered conveniently in church for baby Liam’s christening, the scene is set for Carla to tell them all the truth about Tony.

But will she? Let’s hope she’s seen enough Bond movies to know that giving Tony any time to wriggle free would be a mug’s game.

On the subject of christenings, I do hope they name Maria’s child Baby Liam, because that’s what we’re all going to have to have to call him – at least until he goes to school and can legally change his name to Little Liam.

Ant and Dec’s pay cut to ÂĢ10m

Ant and Dec have taken a big pay cut - but still earn ÂĢ10m
Ant and Dec have taken a big pay cut - but still earn ÂĢ10m

Britain's Got Talent hosts Ant and Dec are taking 10 per cent pay cuts in their new TV contracts — but that still means they trouser ÂĢ10m each.

Their new ITV contracts will keep them with the channel until 2011, also hosting primetime shows such as Saturday Night Takeaway and I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

Their current contracts, which expire this year, are worth ÂĢ17m over three years.

Anthony McPartlin, 33, has already admitted the duo were braced for a pay cut.

“It's a tough time for everyone,” he said. “If we're offered less, so be it. I just want to make great shows and brilliant prog rammes and money comes after that.”

He and partner Declan Donnelly, 34, had faced the prospect of a 25 per cent pay cut after ITV lost ÂĢ2.7 billion last year and had to axe 1,000 jobs.

A source at ITV, which is paying a premium to keep Ant and Dec exclusive, said they did not deserve a big cut because all their shows are hits.

The source added: “They are part of the fabric of ITV and their success is our success. We are not the BBC, funded by the licence fee payer, so don't have to justify the big salaries of our stars.”

The pair are expected to sign the new contracts before they fly to Australia next month to host the ninth ser ies of I'm A Celebrity.

I think it's awful having a drop in your wages to ÂĢ10,000,000, I don't know how they are going to manage, I would have to go without so much.

Hicky
Good evening all
Tatty
sorry to hear about your friend.   And sorry to hear the pain patches are not helping you as much now.
I havent seen the programme you are talking about, but hope you enjoy the series, and your thread. Sorry to hear that you are getting used to the pain patches.

Hicky
how did you enjoy the stawberry tarts? They sound yummy.
I hope your mint cake came out ok.You didn't tell us the answere to how many females there are? None perhaps? What very strange clothes they are wearing. Thanks for the Corrie news. I am looking forward to tonights episode.

Emptybox
did you mange to get your gardens done today?
It was dry here today, and seems to of got warm again.
How is your workload now?  Have you caught up with it?

James
hope all goes well with you.

I am off to London tommorrow, so wont be around now till Monday.
so I hope you all have a good weekend.
M
Hi Mollie.

The Strawberry Tarts are lovely, and even better when you put the Sainsbury's 'Taste the Difference' cream with a tasty extra.

The mint cake wasn't too bad, but it was setting as it came out of the pan, I'll make some more though.

That picture I asked how many girls, well the center one is Katy Price and the left one is her feller, and the others are fellers as well.

I've been rather busy at work, didn't have a lot of free time at all.
Hicky
Evening.

Yes it was dry and quite warm here today, so I got a lot of work done.
Seems to be one dry then one wet day here this week.

I won't be working tomorrow morning anyway, because I have to go to see the solicitor and sign some papers to do with winding up my Dad's estate.

You don't say why you are off to London Mollie? Is it see some shows?
Have a great time anyway.

Hicky, it would almost be worth watching Coronation Street to see that bit with Kym Marsh.......almost.
She is lovely though.

We are getting a 6Â― hr power cut tomorrow. They are doing some work on the supply seemingly.
Bet it doesn't improve anything.
We are always getting power cuts around here, and it is always "high voltage faults" when you ring up to report it.

I received one copy of Windows 7 today from Amazon. I pre-ordered another one from Comet back in July, but it's not due to come till November the 2nd for some reason.
I'm not in any hurry to install them though, as I've already got the free version installed, but that runs out next March. I ordered the copies now because you got a discounted price.

That Diana must be very talented, because she has to act as well as sing in that show.
Must admit I didn't rate her very highly in the little I saw of her on X-Factor (was it?). I'm impressed that she's got this break.
emptybox
Hi Emptybox.
It only rained here late afternoon, quite warm though.

Talking about Coronation Street, they wouldn't show anything anyway, it's all in the mind, else i'd watch it in case..

It looks like Windows 7 needs a clean install, that's such a pain and it looks like you have to upgrade from either XP or Vista.

It seems to be another Vista without the bugs, a bit puzzling really.

Diana seems to be doing very well in the show, it must be so tiring for her and she's only 18 so a lot of hard work.
I must try and get to see her though some how.
Hicky
Yes Windows 7 looks a lot like Vista, but with a redesigned taskbar.

You can buy the upgrade version and upgrade from Vista without starting from scatch, but I think you have to do a clean install if you have XP?

It's definitely nicer to work with than XP, from an aesthetic point of view, but it just does the same job really.
The only thing is that the Home Premium version comes with Media Center, which is much improved from the Vista version, and is great if you want to connect your computer to the TV.
Also networking computers and printers has improved from Vista. There is one network password and then all the shares are automatically accessible on all computers in the network.

Other than that, it's basically just window dressing.
emptybox
Hi Emptybox.
There certainly looks like benefits with Win7 anyway, not sure about the cost yet, but don't fancy a clean install from XP as it needs.
XP isn't too bad but Vista seems a pain so they will more than likely want to convert.

Morning Hicky. Bit of a red face this morning. I turned off all my appliances ready for the power cut at 9.30am, then when it didn't go off I consulted the letter they had sent. I'm only a bloomin' week early, that's all. The power cut is next Friday. Oh Well! Off to see my solicitor in a bit, will pop back later.
Pop in at Specsavers on the way back.

New Corrie arrival reveals Betty ambition

Friday, October 23 2009, 12:52 BST

By Daniel Kilkelly, Entertainment Reporter and Kris Green, Soaps Editor

New Corrie arrival reveals Betty ambition

Coronation Street newcomer Kenny Doughty has revealed that he dreams of filming a scene with Weatherfield veteran Betty Driver.

The 30-year-old actor, who plays Michelle Connor's (Kym Marsh) new love interest Jake on the ITV1 soap, told DS that he is a die-hard fan of the actress's barmaid character Betty Williams.

He commented: "I'm desperate just to do a scene with Betty - that's all I want to do - my life will be complete! I've been here three and a half weeks and I've been running up and down the corridors and Betty's not been in."

Viewers will initially see Jake in a six-episode stint before the builder bows out of the drama, though producers are said to be keeping the door open for a possible return.

The soap star added: "I've got to go back to London tomorrow - they've got to bring me back just so I can meet Betty! If I could ask Betty for a hotpot in the Rovers that would be my dream. I don't know where I could go from there - that's like the pinnacle - but I'm ready to enjoy that peak."

Doughty's first scenes, which see Jake tumbling into Michelle's life through a bathroom window, air on Coronation Street next week.

BB winner Shilpa getting engaged

Shilpa Shetty is getting engaged to Raj Kundra
Shilpa Shetty is getting engaged to Raj Kundra
Published Date: 23 October 2009
Shilpa Shetty will get engaged to her businessman boyfriend at a ceremony on Saturday, her publicist has confirmed.
Shetty and London-based Raj Kundra will hold a small party to celebrate the event at the Celebrity Big Brother winner's apartment in Mumbai.

The actress's publicist said: "It will be a very private affair, where only immediate family members will be present. There won't be a bash for sure."

The wedding is due to be held in December, but no date has yet been set. Shetty, 34, had earlier revealed that she would like a traditional Indian ceremony.

"She has ordered jewellery for the wedding and has picked every piece with care. We are gearing up for her wedding in December," her publicist told Indian newspaper DNA.

Reports indicate the ceremony will be held in Mumbai followed by a reception in London.

The couple, who bought a stake in cricket's Indian Premier League team the Rajasthan Royals in February, have been dating for around two years.

Shetty's actress sister Shamita, who is currently in the Indian version of Big Brother, will be unable to attend the engagement on Saturday.

Evening Hicky and darlo.

Glad to hear you've recovered from your last hangover darlo. Just in time for your next one?

Saw my solicitor. Just had to sign a few forms to do with applying for Confirmation (the Scottish equivalent of Probate), then did my weekly shop in the same town. It's not the place I usually do it, but I thought I might as well while I was there.

It was quite a nice afternoon here, but I think tomorrow isn't supposed to be as good.

Hope Mollie is enjoying herself.
emptybox
Good Morning Everyone.

And hello Emptybox, you were up late, well the more forms you sign the less to sign later, probably more yet, it's an endless procedure.

At least you can just get the shopping you need for yourself, although a lot of the deals aren't much good to you, but they won't lower the price, that's why it doesn't matter how many deals there are it doesn't mean we pay a lot less at the tills, we just have more and either eat more or waste more.
It's a con trick really to give the supermarket the same income whatever the deal.

La Toya: 'Michael's sons are not coping'

La Toya: 'Michael's sons are not coping'

WENN

La Toya Jackson has revealed that the family are concerned that Michael's two sons are not coping with their father's death.

She told The Mirror that all three children - Prince Michael, 12, Paris Michael Katherine, 11, and 7-year-old Prince Michael II, also known as Blanket - are having grief counselling.

However, the Celebrity Big Brother star said that Paris seems to be dealing with her heartache better than her brothers.

She stated: "Paris thinks and talks about her father all the time. She's doing very well, writes a lot and she wears his shirts every day. They still smell of him and it helps her feel close to him.

"Her bedroom is covered in posters of Michael and she watches tapes of him all the time. After he passed, the kids went up to the house to get whatever they wanted.

"Paris took anything with a picture of her father on and brought it back to her new room at my mother's house.

"She was so upset that she would never see her father on stage. She said, 'Now I'll never get the chance to see Daddy perform live'."

La Toya went on to say that Michael's eldest son is finding it harder to talk about his feelings.

She explained: "Prince just doesn't want to speak about it. He won't even watch the DVDs, he just walks right past the TV. It's too soon, too touching. I do worry about him very much."

The 53-year-old said that Michael's youngest son is also struggling to cope.

She commented: "Blanket is just a very sad, shy little boy. He cries, he really does cry. It's so painful for him. No one can bring his daddy back and it hurts so much.

"They all go to therapy and I truly hope Prince especially will be able to open up."

Good Afternoon Tatty.
Hope your OK?
Are you looking forward to SCD tonight and X-Factor?

Like all children left without parents, it's going to be hard for them.
Can't understand why Michael didn't give them the benefit of having a mother to look after them when they were young.
The poor children don't really know who is the mother and father of each child.
Don't know if anyone actually knows.
Hicky
Evening all.

I'm just about to start putting my clocks back.
An extra hour to play with can't be bad.
I usually stay up half an hour late, and go to bed half an hour early (if you see what I mean).

A windy, showery day here. Not very nice at all.

i spent a lot of the day installing Windows 7 on my downstairs computer.
One good thing about it is it finds drivers for most of your stuff without you having to do anything. Especially if you are online when you install it.
The only thing I haven't got a driver for is an old webcam that i never use anyway.
They never even released a Vista driver for it, so Windows 7 hasn't much of a chance.
