hope your remade mint cake came out ok.
I bet your lad was gratefull he could leave the kids to you, and get his lie in.
Hope the flu jab goes ok.
I think the right one left on x factor tonight.
I too like Stacy, Lucy and Danyl.
And I thought Olly was good this week. I usually like MissFrank, but wasn't so keen on them this week.
I did not like Cheryls performance at all tonight though.
time for a few jobs the bed.
Goodnight all. xx
Stavros Flatley raking in Β£200,000 a week
September 22nd, 2009 by Lisa McGarry.
Britainβs Got Talent stars Stavros Flatley are raking in Β£200,000 per week since appearing on the show in June.
Th father and son act are in big demand and regularly perform at four gigs a day, charging Β£10,000 a time.
A source told Th Sun: βStavros have performed all over the UK.
Theyβre very popular at sporting events but itβs corporate events which are most popular and with the Christmas party season coming up, theyβre sure to be in the money well into the next year.β
Coronation Street's Michelle Keegan Recreates The Mona Lisa
CORONATION Street star Michelle Keegan looks a real picture in a photographic recreation of Leonardo Da Vinci's Mona Lisa.
The actress, who plays feisty Tina McIntyre in the soap, was transformed into the subject of the 500-year-old portrait to promote a travelling exhibition about the Italian artist.
Da Vinci - The Genius opens next month at the Museum of Science & Industry (MOSI) in the soap's home town of Manchester.
The exhibition's promoters picked Michelle Keegan, aged 22, for the promotional photograph because her Mediterranean complexion and long, dark hair provided a good base for transformation.
They sourced period dress from Manchester's Royal Exchange theatre, perfected the hair and make-up, and tried to get the lighting just right so the shadows matched those in the original.
Describing the transformation process, Michelle said: "I had to be really pale and they powdered me down so much because I'm quite dark.
"They had to frizz my hair up and backcomb it and put it in little ringlets.
"It was a very long process which took a good two hours. I think most of the time was spent on my eyebrows.
"They had to put wax on them, then make-up, then wax again so that they disappeared. I always paint my eyebrows on so to have them erased was quite strange!"
She said the experience has made her want to see the original Mona Lisa in the Louvre in Paris, but she wasn't so keen on her 16th Century complexion.
She said: "It was the palest I've ever been in my life. I didn't like it at all!"
Make-up artist Armand Beasley said: "We found that Michelle's face fitted the profile beautifully - the bone structure was practically the same."
To create the finished piece, photographer Paul Jones took a photograph of Keegan against a blue screen and dropped it over an image of the original painting.
He then used Photoshop effects to match her with the background, add a Renaissance quality and blend out what was left of her eyebrows.
Jones said: "Very little digital manipulation was required to make the two elements fit seamlessly together and create a convincing modern day update."
Opening at MOSI on November 14, the exhibition features 1,000 sq m of exhibits devoted to Da Vinci's work, including giant and infra-red versions of the Mona Lisa, and some of his inventions, such as his scuba diving suit and helicopter.
Quite glad John and Edward stayed on X-Factor, i've warmed to them they're not the best singers or have the strongest voices they're marmite but I do think they're taking lots of stick, they do deserve some but OTT with all this campaign against them etc thats been orcestrated. Cheryl upset their fans tonight so might have secured their passage for another week or gained them some other fans.
I went to the Marks & Spencer food shop while I was in town and got a few things including some smoked salmon, so I'll enjoy a few treats.
It was a reasonable day here but a bit cloudy, and we had a shower of rain this evening.
Yeah I would think having your shoelaces tied would be a good idea if you are going climbing in a cave Mollie.
Hello there darloboy. How you doing?
I heard you hurt you're back are you ok now?, how are you too?. Been working hard in your garden?.
Just checking if this Cat Suit is your size, it seem to fit Ola fine anyway.
I'm on Team Alesha Dixon and Dannii Minogue
online 37986 Forum Posts Today at 00:09 (Edited: )
They're both doing a brill job, Dannii is showing up Cheryl Cole this year she's always been the better judge. Can't stand Cheryl at all so overrated and overhyped and aggressive, not to mention big headed can't accept criticism and cries at any opportunity for sympathy and all this so called national treasure thing grrr
I'm good thanks, had some pizza, chips, garlic bread and chicken wings earlier before waiting for X-Factor to come on. I heard you hurt you're back are you ok now?, how are you too?. Been working hard in your garden?.
I've been working hard in everyboy's gardens, not just my own.
Cool
Happy Monday.
Just off to get my Flue Jabski and maybe Brekkski while i'm out.
Need some 'Oil of Peppermint' as well, will see if Chemist has it.
I'm after making some more of that Mint Cake.

yes I like that avatar. I'll have another go to see if son can help me put one on here.
that catsuit is probably a bit too small for me, but I really can't see me walking the dog in that anyway, so I will pass on it for now.
Hicky
hope you are ok after your flu jab, and you enjoyed your brekkie out. Did you go to Morrisons for brekkie? Did you manage to get your peppermint for the cake? Hope your printer turns up ok.
Emptybox
Hope your back is carrying on improving.
Glad you got what you needed from Argos, and some treats from M and S. I love M and S foodhall. We always get some treat foods from there at Christmas time.
Darloboy
Nice to see you here. I must remember to join the X factor thread here some time.
I too do not like Cheryl at all this year. I think her nasty side is coming out. Right misery she is being, and not a good judge at all imo. I agree those poor twins have taken some nasty treatment, and Cheryls comment about them just came over as bitter last night. I also thought she had no right to comment last week on that girl bands clothing being tarty, bearing in mind what she herself wears.
The twins might not have good singing voices, but they do at least bounce back after negative comments and booing from the audience. I hope they stay a while for the fun factor.
I got my Flue jab, and while I was there I asked if they could check when my Hospital appointment was for my scan, I thought it was the 26th, she checked and said it's today at 2.30, I went for Brekkie then asked the Chemist for oil of Peppermint, they said they would have to order it.
I had brekkie went home because I was expecting delivery, they came at 10 past 12 so I set the wireless printer up then went for my scan.
Came home and set the printer up for my O/H, now she can print, it was very easy to do.
Going to give my old one to one of my Lads.
EDIT:
Just remembered to ring Chemist, the peppermint oil is in and ready waiting, i'll have to go Wednesday now.
Samia Smith Gives Birth
Today 16:00
'Coronation Street' star Samia Smith gave birth to a girl today (19.10.09).
The actress delivered the baby, who weighed a healthy 7lbs 2oz, at 10am and has named her Freya.
Both Samia - who plays hairdresser Maria Connor in the ITV1 soap - and Freya are said to be doing well.
It is her first child with her property developer husband Matt, who she wed in September 2005.
A show spokesperson said: "Samia and Matt are delighted and everyone at 'Coronation Street' is thrilled by the latest arrival to the Corrie family."
The 27-year-old brunette announced she was pregnant just days after her dad Joseph Ghadie died from cancer in April this year.
In the soap, Maria is involved in a gripping storyline, unaware her fiance Tony Gordon (Gray O'Brien) is responsible for the death of her husband Liam.
Samia and Matt are delighted and everyone at 'Coronation Street' is thrilled by the latest arrival to the Corrie family.
Tonight, Tony's wife Carla Gordon (Alison King), one of the only people to know the truth about the murder, makes her explosive return to Weatherfield.

Thanks for the welcome Hicky. Love to Ian and his back, Mollie and Darloboy. I'm still trying to catch up and trying to find my way around this forum. It is good though. No wonder DS is quiet.
It's great here, there's not much you can't do if you know how.
You'll have to get an Avatar and use it in your Profile.
Sounds like you've had a busy day Hicky.
Good job you checked on your scan.
Glad the printer was a doddle to set up.
Does it connect to your router by USB?
Why was your OH unable to connect to the old one? Was it because she has Vista on her laptop, and there wasn't a suitable driver for the printer?
Was a wet day here, so I stayed in and did my accounts etc.
Hi boldjohn.
Affection reciprocated. In a manly way, of course.
I haven't really explored much in this forum apart from this thread.
Will get round to it one day perhaps.
My back is nearly back to normal now.
Mollie must have been busy today.
Watched 'Life' on BBC HD, and recorded 'Flashforward' and watched that straight after.
The wireless printer can connect to my Computer either by usb, which it used to set it up, I am using it wireless though, it has a network socket on the wireless adaptor though, it uses the Router/Modem to connect to the other Laptop, my O/H can connect and print now and she doesn't need me to be powered up.
She has got Vista but not sure if that was the problem before, it seems an awful OS,
They seem to have gone backwards instead of forwards, why on earth they have changed it all around I have no idea.
It's like a lot of software, they get it rewritten by people but don't use the old version as a guide.
Quite often you have to relearn the whole thing all over again, so annoying.
My mate had to do it with some software that cost about Β£12,000 and they upgraded it and although it had taken him about 10 years to learn he had to start again because he didn't even recognise it, mind you that was German software.

Corrie's Gray O'Brien pleased with heart attack scene
Corrie star Gray O'Brien has said that his forthcoming heart attack scene will look realistic. His character Tony Gordon will be seen collapsing on the Street later this month.

Corrie star Gray O'Brien has said that his forthcoming heart attack scene will look realistic. His character Tony Gordon will be seen collapsing on the Street later this month.
The actor said that he researched cardiac arrests before he began filming, he spoke to nurses and a pal with knowledge of heart problems.
He told PA: "There's always a danger that we'll do something that will look a bit comedic.
"It's a difficult thing to play when you don't understand. I think we've got away with it very nicely, the way we've shot it."
The 41-year-old added that he takes part in regular exercise because he is conscious of his own health.
He said: "I do try to keep myself fit and look after myself.
"And I've had so many friends in recent years my age just going zap.
"I think we just live in this ridiculously stress-ridden life and we all work so hard and try and squeeze so much in and get to the gym four times a week and it takes its toll - I am very conscious of keeping myself fit."
He added: "Also, this is my living and I've got to look after myself, just like the girls do."
I'm so happy for Stavros Flatly. Earning Β£200,000 a week.
My "Kev's Kitchen" thread is now obsolete, for me anyway, as my girlfriend is an amazingly good cook. She says she will teach me so she can occasionaly put her feet up...like that will ever happen lol.
Going to a mate's house tonight for a chit chat, and a chillax
Hope everyone's well.

Lovely to hear from you.
Thing all fellers should be able to cook anything, 4 of my 5 can cook, don't think it's good relying on your partner to cook everything.
Someone me and my O/H cook a meal between us, sometimes I do it all, sometimes she does it all.
She is a super cook, but we quite often have different foods as are tastes are different.
If I was you I would learn to cook for your own sake, you never know when you may be left to fend for yourself, think I was cooking from about 12.
Enjoy your night out anyway,
If Stavros can get that, think i've been in the wrong industry.

Coronation Street Weekly Update, October 19 09
Come in, sit down, put your feet up and take the weight off your face. All settled? Got your tea and your biscuit? Then without any further ado, here we go with this weekβs Coronation Street update.
Maria and Tony are celebrating hatches, matches and dispatches this week. Hatches because itβs Baby Liamβs christening; Matches because Tony asks Maria to marry him (and the lady with the dim brain, she say YES!); and Dispatches because Tonyβs now figuring out a way to get Carla out of his life and itβs a way thatβll start with MUR and end in DER. Yes, Carla is back, turning up at Liamβs graveside for a cosy chat with Tony. She tells him she knows all about Maria and baby Liam and warns him to leave Maria and Manchester or sheβll reveal all. Exciting as it is to have the dark lady back, I did wonder why she just didnβt go to the cops. I mean, you know, you would. Far greater revenge from Carla to exact on Tony would be to hole him up in a deserted house with just Mammy Connor for company, driving him slowly insane. Now thatβs a spin-off DVD if ever there was one.
More exciting news this week is that Luke Strong has done a runner with Β£90k of Rosie Websterβs cash. She thinks sheβs giving Luke the money in exchange for his share of Underworld, which would in theory make her the boss. She doodles with the idea of changing the factory name to βEnglish Rosieβs Quality Underwearβ although a better name, surely, would have been βDozy-Rosie Pantsβ. When she finds out that Lukeβs left, cleared out his flat and her bank account, she sobs to Sally. βHow much did you give him?β a stunned Sally asks. βNinety,β sobs Rosie. βNinety pounds?β asks Sally, wondering why Rosieβs so upset until the full shock hits her and she goes home, too shocked to even bicker with Kev.
Speaking of Kev, heβs still having his fling with Molly and itβs just as nasty as it was last week and as bad as itβll be next.
Speaking of someone who rhymes with Kev, Devβs having problems with Uncle Umed in the shop. Umed lets Teresa sleep in the back room of the shop when sheβs destitute after Darryl leaves the Street for Spain. Why Teresa, a woman of many talents, couldnβt have just broken into her old house was lost on me, but she ended up on Lloydβs sofa instead. Lloyd locked himself in his bedroom, just in case. She does however get her hands on her man when she massages Lloyd, telling him sheβs got healing hands: βI once cured a lame donkey on Blackpool beach in 1973β.
Across the street, Joe and Gailβs relationship hits a rocky patch when Joe buys a boat and moors it on Gailβs drive. The boat comes to the Street via Aunty Pam after she chases up someone who owes money to Bill. She doesnβt get the money but gets the boat instead. Gailβs a bit stunned when she sees what Joeβs gone and done. βSometimes, just sometimesβ¦β she tells Audrey, in disbelief, βyou just have to sit down.β
And thatβs just about that for this week.
Coronation Street writers this week were Lucy Gannon, Damon Rochefort, Julie Jones, John Kerr and Jonathan Harvey.
Hicky... you were busy with the flu, the scan, the peppermint and the printer. Glad you got it all sorted. When do you get the results for the scan? Are you ankles any better yet?
thank you for the Corrie stuff, Corrie storyline is great at the moment. I love that last Corrie post you did there, with the funny pics too.
Have been busy today. Had to go to Lidls because I realised I had no milk at all, and it poured down whilst i was out, I could smell burning outside, then realised it wasn't outside, it was coming from my kitchen, I had forgotten the dogs rice, and it had been boiling for an hour and half instead of 20mins. Ooopps, cue one ruined saucepan, and rice in bin. Changed all our quilts to winter ones, and washed all the summer ones, now it is getting a bit nippy.
Was it a work day for you today Hicky?
Diana looks very nice in those pics. I thought she would do well, she was good on X factor, and is still very young.
Was a wet day here, so I stayed in and did my accounts etc. I haven't really explored much in this forum apart from this thread. Will get round to it one day perhaps. My back is nearly back to normal now. Mollie must have been busy today. Watched 'Life' on BBC HD, and recorded 'Flashforward' and watched that straight after.
I did call in some hours before you yesterday, but you must of missed my afternoon post.
You were good doing your accounts. That is a job I hate doing.
so glad to hear your back is nearly back to normal now. You will have to be extra carefull lifting now.
I forgot to watch "Life", was it good?
I havent done much on this forum yet either, there is certainly a lot to explore.
I hope you are keeping well.
Yes this does seem a good forum with lots of facilities, although I have not been very far from this thread yet.
I think I may venture on the X factor one soon though.
yes that is great for Stavros to be doing so well, I really enjoyed these two when I saw them in Cardiff, they are so funny.
Glad to hear your gf is such a good cook.
Enjoy your chillax with your mate evening.
hope to see you back here soon.
It was a blustery day, but dry until 4pm, so quite good for work.
Cold though. Heavy fleece and woolly hat time, for me.
I changed to my thicker duvet at the begining of September Mollie.
I've got the sort that clips together for the winter. I've got a 4.5 tog one for summer, a 10.5 one for now, and they make a 15 tog one together for the dead of winter.
'Life' was very good. Just what HD was made for.
Yes Hicky, Windows Vista doesn't seem to have been a popular OS at all.
I'm skipping straight to Windows 7. I've had the free release candidate installed on my PCs for a few months, and I'm buying it for both when it is officially released in a couple of days (I pre-ordered it).
It's really smooth and fast. It's based on Vista, but with all the problems put right IMO.
Hi Kev.
I'm having to cook for myself now, and I think I'm doing not too bad.
I think I'd enjoy it if I had more time, but I usually just prepare something in a hurry.
Yesterday, when I wasn't working so had more time, I made a sort of casserole with stewing steak, potatoes, carrots, onions and stock, and it tasted really good. Well it tasted like a proper casserole/stew anyway.
I have to wait a couple of weeks to get the scan results.
My ankles still swell during the day, still don't know why, I think it's probably the medicine i'm on.
You mentioned your rice for the dog had burned, it usually only takes 10 minutes, bring to the boil and simmer for 10, as long as you have a lid on the pan.
I always meant to buy a rice cooker, but they are a bit expensive and I don't make a lot of rice these days.
I'm still trying to work out how I get someone to come to London with me to see Diana, my O/H works Saturday Morning so she wouldn't be able to go.
Hi Mollie, hope you're well, glad you have your winter duvets, the clocks go back this weekend so winter is on its way.
I prefer the cold myself, I sleep a lot better having to snuggle under the covers when its cold.
Hi emptybox, that casserole sounds good. I'm looking forward to Windows 7, dont like Vista much, I have XP, will hang onto it for a while longer yet I think.
Haven't caught 'Life' yet. Wish I had an HD screen. Have you seen those new LED ones, wow. But seems like they keep bringing out new technology as soon as we are able to afford the current one. Times are moving fast these days or am I nearing middle age already.
27 in december
Yes 27 seems really old.
Funnily enough I'll be 50 in a couple of weeks, and I'm still a big kid.
Those Samsung LED tellies look great, but by the time they are affordable there'll be something new, as you say.
Oh yeah, the clocks go back this weekend.
Thanks for saying, cos I was assuming it was the following weekend.
Blast! That means that it'll start getting dark at 4pm.
Had a bit of a Li-in and brekkie, what a life eh.
Yep, Kev, independence is great, helping out also teaches an awful lot as well.
I agree about sleeping when it's warm, very difficult, much easier when the bedroom is cool.
Hi Emptybox.
Wish they would leave the clocks alone, it was only done for the farmers wasn't it, they don't need it changing now i'm sure.
Hi James.
Enjoy your Tour, there's plenty of threads that's for sure.
Your feet might not get tired but your fingers will.
I have a soft spot for Cat Suits, depends who is wearing it though.
