Thugs beat up Donal McIntyre and wife - knowing she had brain tumour
Saturday, 5 September 2009
Donal McIntyre and his wife Ameera were assaulted by soccer hooligans
Ex-undercover journalist Donal McIntyre and his wife Ameera were viciously assaulted by a group of soccer hooligans despite telling them his wife had a brain tumour.
The pair were enjoying a quiet night out before Ameera went for a scan the next day.
The Dancing on Ice star has found himself in dangerous positions by working undercover with notorious crime bosses but he said he is going to re-evaluate his life after his wife was caught up in the latest ordeal.
McIntyre, who reported on Chelsea football hooligans a decade ago, was spotted by a group of thugs enjoying a drink with his wife.
They approached yelling "snitch" and then proceeded with the attack.
McIntyre, who hails from Celbridge, Co Kildare, admitted that the incident had made him lose all faith in humanity.
McIntyre said he was angry that bystanders stood by as he and his wife were attacked
"It was a nightmare and it saddened me that no one was prepared to jump in and help.
"I had a black eye, a cut face and a concussion from where I was repeatedly kicked in the head. I passed out later as I was talking to police."
Ameera suffered bruising to her face and arms as she tried to fend off the attackers kicking her husband on the ground.
No one will face prosecution for the assault because it wasn't caught on CCTV.
"The failure to secure a prosecution gives out the message that these thugs have got away with it".
The couple and their two children have now moved to a secret location and are considering leaving Britain altogether.

Holly Willoughby: ‘I’ve landed my dream job and I’m so excited!’
Rhiannon Vivian 6/09/2009
We caught up with TV presenter Holly Willoughby, 28, to find out why she’s getting a buzz about her new gig on This Morning, and how she’s going to cope with being a working mum…
cos holly willoughby
Holly Willoughby is padding around a West London studio in flip-flops and florals, calmly nattering away to everyone on our shoot without a care in the world. It’s hard to believe this is the owner of a diary that, by rights, is so chock-full of work demands, it should have overheated and exploded by now. Not only did Holly recently give birth to son Harry, now four months old, the 28-year-old presenter spent August abroad filming for Xtra Factor, is poised to take over Fern Britton’s This Morning job a week tomorrow, and has also signed up for a fifth series of Dancing On Ice.
Phew. It seems Ms Willoughby is most definitely in demand. The rest of us would have to invent an extra day of the week just to cope, but Holly seems remarkably relaxed about her jam-packed jet-set life. And for the record, looks fresh as a daisy and not remotely tired when we meet her (mothers of Britain, avert your jealous gaze – apparently, Harry is an expert sleeper).
But it’s her new This Morning gig that we’re getting the gossip on today. Holly pipped contenders Christine Bleakley and Kate Garraway to the post. And no one’s more surprised than the girl herself. ‘I feel like a competiton winner,’ she laughs. ‘But this is it now, I’ve fulfilled my ambitions. This is where I want to be and I’m going to enjoy every second. In fact, I’m going to wallow in it.’
So, during our photoshoot (in which we think she looks rather Bridget Bardot-esque, non?) we grilled Holly about filling Fern Britton’s shoes, being a working mummy, and whether she plans on wearing any more revealing frocks on the box…
cos holly willoughby
Are you excited about landing your dream job?
I’ve watched This Morning for years, and yes, it is a dream job. It’s the closest you can get to live Saturday morning kids’ TV – but without the gunge – and I love that kind of buzz. I’m a little nervous, but I filled in for Fern when she was on holiday, so I know what to expect. I look back and think, ‘God, that was an audition and rehearsal rolled into one.’
Are you worried about filling Fern Britton’s much-loved shoes?
Absolutely. Fern and Phil were absolutely fantastic. I was a massive fan of them. Of course it’s scary taking over from someone people loved so much. And rightly so. The only thing you can do is not try to re-create something that has been. Be yourself and start something new.
Are you a Fern fan?
Fern is lovely. I know her quite well as she used to come and watch all the Dancing On Ice shows. I didn’t get to chat to her about the job. I haven’t seen her or spoken to her since, but only through circumstance and because she’s on holiday.
Did she send anything to congratulate you?
No, but I know her in a telly way, not a really personal way. For example, if you were replacing someone in a new job they wouldn’t send you flowers to wish you luck, would they?
Some folk have said you’re too young to be filling her shoes, or don’t have much experience…
People are always going to say something about you, if it wasn’t that it’d be something else. Current affairs is definitely a strand of the show, but it’s not like I’m completely clueless. I may not have a news background, but I do know what’s going on in the world. And This Morning’s not a political show by any means. I think my strength lies in the fact most people watching it are just like me.
How do you think you’ll cope with the pace of the show – all the frantic instructions in your earpiece?
Well, you get used to the ‘talkback’ in your ear. Especially after 10 years in the job. I prefer it when the gallery is busy and you can hear chatting. When it goes quiet in my ear, that’s when I think something has gone horribly wrong. The best thing about it, though, is that I’ve become very good at listening to one thing and talking about another. So I’m great at eavesdropping in restaurants. I always say to my husband Dan (Baldwin), ‘You are not going to believe what I just heard.’ Seriously, I’ve listened in on affairs, arguments… And for a nosey person that’s brilliant.
Are you excited about getting to meet super A-list stars?
Oh yeah. I’ve always been completely jealous of Fearne Cotton interviewing Prince William and Harry, so they would be my ideal guests to get on the sofa. Imagine that. Or Kate Middleton’s first interview. That would be such a scoop.
Are you cool with cross-examining them?
Whenever I interview someone, I think, ‘What do I really want to know?’ Because there’s always that one question. Then I think you just push it as far as you can without annoying or upsetting them. And we all know where that limit is. I think I’ve got enough respect for people not to push it too far.
How will you handle trickier guests, or those who fall apart on the sofa, like Kerry Katona?
I’m not sure. I think you judge each situation on its own merit. Like when Kerry Katona went on the show I thought Fern and Phil handled it really well. I think I would have felt very sad for her at that point in time. And concerned.
What about the traumatic tales people come on the show with – will it be hard to hold it together?
If someone has a really sad story, I might quite possibly end up crying. Especially if they do. You have a certain amount of responsibility to hold it together, but if your natural reaction is to cry, sometimes it can’t be helped. I think I’ve cried on TV twice – and that’s not counting when I was pregnant. Everything made me weep then!
Are you satisfied, or is there more to achieve?
I’m actually not the most ambitious person in the world. But whatever job you take, of course you want to be the best at. Like the X Factor contestants always say, ‘I want this so badly.’ I think, ‘Well, isn’t that a given?’ No one goes into something and thinks, ‘I sort of want to be alright at this.’ Otherwise there’s no point. Work ethic is important. If you try to get to that pinnacle point straightaway then you’re likely to fail. If you slowly build up to it, you deserve to be there. It’s taken me 10 years of running, floor managing, going into production and then getting on-screen to get my dream job. I must have reached the pinnacle, as I feel like I’m in the right place.

HOLLY ON BEING A WORKING MUM
Motherhood is fabulous. It’s all I’ve wanted since I was really young, so I’m loving it. I think it’s fair to say that’s the best job I’ve ever had.
I have an amazing support network, my mum, my husband, my mother-in-law… And now I have the This Morning gig, we’ve got a nanny, just to help out in the mornings.
I am working hard for a new mum – is that impressive, or mad? I think it is possible to have it all – well, for me anyway. I’m very lucky that I work in a career where I can take Harry to work and nobody minds, so I don’t feel I’ve missed out on anything because he’s been there with me. He even came to St Tropez when I filmed Xtra Factor. He’s going to have more stamps in his passport than Judith Chalmers, before he’s even a year old. He’s amazing. A very sociable baby.
Having Harry has meant I’m very used to early mornings, so getting up for This Morning will be no problem. But even before then, I’d always be up at the crack of dawn for things like Xtra Factor because the days were so long.
Having a baby changes everything. You feel completely different. It definitely adds dimension to you, and you can empathise more with people who have kids. I can’t imagine what I did with my free time before Harry.
Harry is a good sleeper, so luckily I haven’t had to worry about looking tired on telly. But the wonderful girls in make-up can patch me up if needs be.
My mum is always keen that I get some time to myself and reminds me to take a break every now and again. Recently she was on Dan’s case to book us a holiday as I was working. She understands how important it is to switch off sometimes. She’s good like that.
Holly on Phillip Schofield…
Phil and I have great chemistry. The first time I worked with him was quite scary. I remember thinking, ‘He’s Phillip Schofield. A very important man in telly.’ But he’s always looked after me and never made me feel like I shouldn’t be there. The first Dancing On Ice, he had total faith in me to not mess things up. We’re such good friends now that me, my husband Dan and Phil’s wife Steph and their kids met up on holiday recently. We went to dinner at their villa. They’re just really lovely people.
Holly on her This Morning ‘look’...
My shape dictates I wear more 50s-style clothing – the decade where women were women. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to put on skinny jeans and a T-shirt, but I would look ridiculous. That said, I loved the 80s look for this shoot today. People described my Very Be maternity range as classic and timeless, which is a wonderful thing to say. I hope I am. But I’m never going to set trends, put it that way.
The fiasco with ‘that’ white dress on Dancing On Ice…
It was the craziest thing. I’d never want to wear anything someone would deem inappropriate, and in my book there was really nothing wrong with it. But I’m not donning a roll-neck for This Morning just because it’s day time. I’ll continue to dress in a feminine way.
Holly starts This Morning from 14 September, 10.30am-12.30pm on ITV1. See her on Xtra Factor on Saturdays on ITV2. For Holly’s clothing line log on to www.very.co.uk

Proof that women's chests really are a man's 'first fixation'
By Helen Dowd, Mail on Sunday Reporter
Last updated at 10:09 PM on 06th September 2009
Women have long complained that their faces are often the last thing men look at – and now a scientific study has proved them right.
Researchers found that virtually half – 47 per cent – of men first glance at a woman’s chest. A third of the so-called ‘first fixations’ are on the waist and hips, while fewer than
20 per cent look at the face.
Not only are breasts often the first thing men look at, they also glance at them for longer than any other body part, the experts discovered.
Katherine Jenkins
Perfect figure: Katherine Jenkins' larger chest and slim waist indicate fertility
It’s thought that the reason might be evolutionary, as women with larger chests and slim waists – such as opera singer Katherine Jenkins – have higher levels of the female hormone oestrogen, indicating greater fertility.
But the researchers conceded that there could be a more prosaic explanation. ‘Men may be looking more often at the breasts because they are simply aesthetically pleasing, regardless of the size,’ they said.
Subjects tested by researchers from New Zealand’s University of Wellington were presented with six images of the same woman, digitally altered to increase or decrease the size of her bust, waist and hips.
Kelly Brook
Lads' favourite: Kelly Brook is admired for her curves
The scientists recorded which areas men looked at first, the number of times they looked, and how long their gaze lasted, using cameras and mirrors to measure tiny eye movements.
The study concluded: ‘Eighty per cent of first fixations were on the breasts and midriff. Men spent consistently more time looking at the breasts and also made significantly more fixations upon them than other regions.’
It also found that men began to gaze at the ‘components of the hourglass figure’ within 0.2 seconds.
The research also discovered that few glances were directed at the arms, lower legs and feet.

Can't believe it took a survey to find this out.

Chris Evans to replace Terry Wogan as Radio 2 breakfast host
Terry Wogan is to step down as the popular host of BBC Radio 2's breakfast show and be replaced by Chris Evans, reports suggest.
By Harry Wallop, Consumer Affairs Editor
Published: 3:17PM BST 06 Sep 2009
The move is expected to take place next year, crowning a spectacular few years for Evans, who was sacked by the corporation 12 years ago.
Sir Terry, 71, has made it clear to friends he wants to slowly wind down his radio commitments, following his decision to cut back on television appearances last year.
The decision to retire from his weekday morning show will upset his army of fans, 8 million of whom tune in on a daily basis to hear his idiosyncratic musings, combined with pop music. No other radio show in Britain is as popular.
It is undersood that Sir Terry will not quit Radio 2 completely, however, and is likely to be given a weekend show to host.
A BBC source told The Mail on Sunday: "Chris Evans will take over from Wogan by March at the latest, with Wogan moving to weekends, and Simon Mayo taking on Evans’s afternoon programme. The BBC was intending to announce this in December."
The decision to replace him with Evans is likely to upset many listeners to the show, affectionately referred to him as TOGs -- Terry's Old Geezers and Gals.
On Sunday, within hours of the unofficial news that Evans was the likely replacement, fans of the show posted messages on the Radio Today website. "This is terrible. If anyone should take over it should be Johnny Walker!" wrote Nathan Thorn.
Julia Sizer wrote: "I'll be switching off Radio 2 if Chris Evans takes over on the breakfast show. Let's have Lisa Tarbuck, Stuart Maconie, Mark Radcliffe, Jonnie Walker, Richard Madeley or Paul O'Grady. Who is in charge at Radio 2 - Sack them now....."
Chris Evans's career at the BBC has been marked by a spectacular fall from grace, followed by a very successful comeback. He rejoined in 2005 and now hosts the weekday drivetime show, which attracts five million listeners a week.
In 2006 Evans won the coveted Sony Music Radio Personality of the Year award and during his acceptance speech thanked the BBC for giving him a "second chance".
Evans, 43, was fired from his Radio 1 breakfast show in 1997 after he continually failed to turn up to work.
A spokesman for Radio 2 said: "We don’t comment on the constant speculation regarding the Radio 2 schedule and its presenters.”

Amanda Holden looking golden in LA

Amanda Holden by the pool
Holden to your hats.. Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden is a star in stripes as she gets herself a tan by the pool in Los Angeles.
Bikini-clad Amanda, 38, was relaxing after covering the latest series of America's Got Talent for CBS.
And she left the Yanks in no doubt that Britain really HAS got talent when it comes to stunning presenters. She looks in top form, if we are any judges.
Amanda Holden by the pool
Just in case the Californian sun became too fierce for an English blonde, Amanda donned a floppy Flowerpot Men-style hat and cool shades. The hat may have been floppy - but our Amanda looks as pert as ever. One of our pictures shows her getting rear-ly chilled as she cools off in the pool, turning her back to the camera.
Amanda never was one for toe-ing the line with fellow BGT judges Simon Cowell and Piers Morgan - and she also found time for a relaxing foot massage by the pool.
The former Wild At Heart actress's curves drew lots of admiring looks but she only had eyes for one man - her record producer husband Chris Hughes, 55. Amanda, once wed to comic Les Dennis, married Chris - a former member of Adam And The Ants - last December.
Their daughter Alexa, three, was with them on their LA break.

Kate Moss 'gets Ant & Dec mixed up'
Saturday, September 5 2009, 20:36 BST
By Anisa Kadri
Kate Moss has referred to Anthony McPartlin as his Britain’s Got Talent co-host Declan Donnelly.
The supermodel started to chant "Dec, Dec, Dec - I love you, Dec!" when she noticed McPartlin enter a London restaurant with his wife.
Upon being called "Dec", McPartlin reportedly ignored the chanting.
A source told The Mirror: "Ant didn't want to be rude, but thought it best he carry on to his table and not embarrass the lady in question. He didn't look round and had no idea it was Kate.
"Then as he was tucking into his main course, a waiter came over and handed him a note of apology, signed by Kate. It said something like, 'I am so, sorry. I now realise my mistake. You're Ant'. And it had lots of kisses.
"Ant thought it was hysterical and had a real giggle about it. He went over to say hello, telling Kate she was forgiven."
The source added: "Kate hadn't even been drinking. She loves Ant and Dec and religiously watches Britain's Got Talent. She just got starstruck."

Thanks hicky,
yeah it's early days and I'm playing it cool, or at least trying my best.
It's crazy how open, honest and at ease we are with each other, even dis-counting only knowing each other for a few weeks.
I think when you can be like that with someone you can just go with the flow, wherever it takes you.

I'm glad Chris Evans will be taking over Wogan, he has to go sometime and Evans is great.
He's not like he used to be, getting drunk on air at 7am. He's a lot more mature now from what I've heard on his drivetime show.

Mature and Evans don't go together

I love Galaxy, they play some right tunes but it's mainly R&B and Dance Music which I adore . Radio 1 is good also and I like the local stations .

I've always loved listening to Wogan, one man I never got tired of, and there's not many like that.
I love him in anything he does, but don't think he could ever be replaced really.
But I suppose we all have to hang up our gloves some day.
Britain's Got Talent winners Diversity all set for Hatfield performance
12:40 - 06 September 2009
Britain's Got Talent winners Diversity
DANCE group Diversity made national headlines by winning this year's Britain's Got Talent final, beating bookies' favourite Susan Boyle.
The 11-piece outfit will be performing at the Forum Fun Day on Sunday, September 13; the University of Hertfordshire's launch of its new £38m entertainment venue, the Forum.
Before the big show in Hatfield, the group, whose members range from 13 to 25, took some time out to talk to the Welwyn & Hatfield Times about winning BGT, what the future holds, and meeting Desmond Tutu...
WHT: What have you been up to since winning Britain's Got Talent?
The new Forum
Diversity: We've been very busy touring, performing in venues all across the country, meeting lots of fans along the way. Festivals, stadiums, corporate events, you name it! It has been incredible!
WHT: How do you come up with those routines, and how long does it take to perfect?
Diversity: Ashley [Banjo] is the main choreographer, but everyone chips in with their own ideas. It can take months to come up with our routines. We are perfectionists!
WHT: Did you really expect to beat Susan Boyle in the Britain's Got Talent final?
Diversity: We never expected to win the competition, and it came as a shock, but we were delighted to win. Susan did very well in her own right. I'm sure she will go on to have a very successful career.
WHT: Some of you are still school/university students. Has much changed at school/uni since you became famous?
Diversity: We have been on school holidays all summer basically, but have popped in for events and other things. The reaction has been amazing, and everyone's been really supportive.
WHT: There's quite an age gap between some of you. Do the older members look after the younger ones, and how do you keep each other grounded?
Diversity: We all look after each other yes. We are like one big family. We all keep an eye out for the little ones especially, but we're all there for each other at the end of the day.
WHT: We all know that Simon Cowell is a big fan of yours. Have you attracted anymore celebrity admirers since winning?
Diversity: We have met loads of celebrities along the way, and the reaction has been fantastic. Our favourite moment was dancing with Desmond Tutu at an event. It was a real experience for us all!
WHT: You're going to be performing at the University of Hertfordshire's Forum Fun Day. What can we expect?
Diversity: You will have to wait and see... It will be special! We won't let you down!
WHT: Looking to the future, how do you plan to keep the act fresh and exciting for new audiences?
Diversity: We are constantly working on new ideas and new routines all the time, We take our inspiration from all walks of life.
WHT: Outside of Diversity, what do you guys do to relax?
Diversity: We haven't had any time to relax yet! Diversity is our life at the moment!
WHT: Have you ever considered coming together with Flawless (fellow dance group and BGT finalists) to create an all conquering, super-dance group?
Diversity: Flawless are great dancers and we get on well, but we're too busy doing our own stuff right now to start any super-groups.

George Sampson has competition from his sisters

George Sampson has competition from his sisters
Britain's Got Talent winner George Sampson faces stiff competition from his sisters, says a report.
The breakdancer's three siblings are launching their own bid for stardom by forming a pop band, says The Sun.
Chelsea, 18, Emily, 17, and Rosie, 14, call themselves A2AA - Access To All Areas, named after George's breakdancing DVD.
The girls hope to secure a recording contract with Universal by winning GMTV's The No 1 Family contest, which searches the UK to uncover the best singing family.
A source said: "George's sisters have been following his career and are desperate to hit the big time themselves."
GMTV viewers can see the Sampson sisters perform on the programme next week.
George recently hit the headlines when he claimed that he had been snubbed by Simon Cowell since winning the talent show.
The 16-year-old claimed that the entertainment mogul had ditched him in favour of singers like Alexandra Burke.
George said: "Things aren't going so well with me and Simon. I suppose he's realised he can make more money out of other people.
"But I thought we were tight. I had one of the best-selling DVDs at the start of the year. We sold loads of copies.
"But I've just found out that Simon's company takes ninety per cent of the revenue. I get ten per cent. But I have to pay the production costs out of that. So I ended up owing them money.
"I'm not quite sure how it all works but that can't be fair, can it?"

Boozegate keeper Allan McGregor parties with Big Brother star Karly Ashworth as Scotland beat Macedonia
Sep 7 2009 By Donna Watson
BOOZEGATE goalie Allan McGregor had a date with Big Brother as his former Scotland team-mates tackled Macedonia.
And the Rangers star notorious for his amorous activities watched the 2-0 victory with a blonde glamour girl in a pub called The Cock Tavern.
But this time there was no suggestion of any naughty business.
Internet pictures showed ladies' man McGregor, 27, in London with Big Brother couple Karly Ashworth, 21, and Kenneth Tong.
McGregor's fiancee Leah Shevlin said the couple had invited him to a party on Friday to celebrate the end of the series of Big Brother.
The goalie then joined Karly and Kenneth the following afternoon in the Cock to watch the Scotland match.
Leah, 25, said there was no chance of anything untoward going on.
She added: "Allan and Kenneth have mutual friends and Kenneth managed to get him an invite to the party.
"He was in London with the Big Brother crowd and then watched the game down there on Saturday.
"I don't watch Big Brother at all and I wasn't there but I spoke to him later and it sounds like he had a great time."
Leah added: "People will say things and try to cause trouble but Karly was there with her boyfriend and there is absolutely nothing for me to worry about."
In pictures posted by Karly, from Fife, and Kenneth on Twitter, McGregor didn't appear to be too upset at being unable to play in the World Cup qualifier.
He is seen enjoying a pint and a game of pool as he laughs with pals before the kick-off - and watching intently as the boys stormed to a 2-0 win.
Karly tweeted a message to her fans: "I am well chuffed Scotland won.
"Allan McGregor says hi. He is a nice guy really."
It was the third game for Scotland since he and Barry Ferguson were carpeted for a booze binge in March.
That followed a 3-0 hammering by Holland in the goalie's first competitive start for his country.
The pair were handed life bans from the Scotland team after making V-signs at photographers from the bench during the next match.

Listen to Cheryl's new single!
Star's new song is finally heard
Posted: Monday 7 Sep 2009
Above: Cheryl's new single has been aired
This is the debut solo single from Girls Aloud and X Factor star Cheryl Cole.
Fight For This Love was aired for the first time this morning on Chris Moyles' Radio 1 breakfast show.
The single sees Cheryl experiment with an electro-sound, and has a chorus that we can see sticking in our heads after a few listens.
The lyrics seem quite personal, and could be an insight into her relationship with hubby Ashley Cole, after the marriage troubles they had before they got back on track
It does feel odd, though, to hear Cheryl without her Girls Aloud crew backing her up, but we're sure we'll get used to it.
It will be interesting to hear the rest of the album when it finally gets a release...
Let us know your thoughts on our Twitter page.
Fight For Love is released on October 19.

Look! BB's Sophie is behaving like a proper celebrity already
Posted by heatworld on Monday 07 Sep 2009
Big Brother winner Sophie Reade has been getting her first taste of fame this weekend by swanning around from photoshoot to interview to party. And look – she's even got a slighty hot man to carry her pet Chihuahua for her! You know you've made it onto the, ahem, Z-list when you've got your own personal dog-carrier. However, we think Soph should take a tip from her fellow celebs such as Paris Hilton and Blake Lively and carry her pooch herself. Everyone knows that's what the real celebs do! Sophie did tell Davina on Friday night that she's planning on spending at least some of her £71K prize money on clothes for Chihuahuas, so expect to see a very well-dressed pooch in her arms next time. Oh, and Soph, maybe you should save a few pounds and buy some shoes, too!

Big Brother’s Imogen Thomas says she takes care of Jermain Defoe

Imogen Thomas - Big Brother 7
Former Big Brother housemate, Imogen Thomas has said that she takes some credit for her boyfriend Jermain Defoe’s, recent success on the football pitch.
“I’d like to think that I have something to do with his recent run of form,” Thomas told the Daily Star. “We spend a lot of time at home rather than going clubbing. We just relax and watch TV. I’ve got him addicted to Crimewatch.
“I’m taking good care of him and I think that half the battle is being happy, which he is at the moment.
“Some of his other girlfriends have always wanted him to go out partying, whereas I will tell him to stay home and save his energy if a big game is coming up. I’ll cook him a nice meal and we’ll sit back and watch the telly. He loves my cooking.”
She added: “I’ll sit there with a hot chocolate while he’s working out and tell him to do one more set or run a bit faster. He even practises his tackling on me in the garden!”

Right, I've got to make some Fudge.
One of my relations has just had a knee replacement done, and has requested some fudge to help the healing, well it might help lubricate the throat at least.
Can't see it taking the pain away though.
Won't be long, back soon looking for any news.
Hope everyone is having a good day.

Right, Fudge done, seems OK, just waiting for it to cool.
Always a critical time getting from 130 deg 'f' to 140, it's the time it can burn so easy.
Anyway I made it without it burning, chuffed again.
----------
Ingredients.
----------
It was only 8oz unsalted butter.
2LB Sugar,
Large can Evap milk.
1/4 same can of water.
Vanilla extract.
----------
You really need a Jam making large stainless pan with handle & oven gloves, silicon if you have them.
-----------
Warning: Don't have any children in the kitchen, the hot mixture can give terrible burns.
-----------
Dissolve all ingredients over a low heat.
Bring to boil, heat to 138/145 'F' careful it doesn't burn.
---------
Take off the heat, leave to cool a few minutes.
Beat until it gets a bit stiffer.
Empty into a 8" square tray lined with greaseproof or silicon liner.
As mixture is cooling mark into squares.

Phil Tufnell 'angers Strictly partner'

Phil Tufnell 'angers Strictly partner'
Phil Tufnell's Strictly Come Dancing partner has told him to show more commitment to the competition, a report claims.
Professional dancer Katya Virshilas was allegedly left annoyed last week when the former England cricketer skipped rehearsals for the BBC One programme.
According to the Daily Mail, show newcomer Virshilas has now demanded that Tufnell changes his ways by attending all five training sessions this week.
A source told the newspaper: "This is Katya's first time on Strictly and she really wants to do well. Obviously it's down to the public how far they both get, but she wants to put on the best possible performance.
"She's committed to the show and doing everything she can to make sure Tuffers does everything he can to progress."
A BBC spokesman commented: "Phil is in training and people will have to watch to see how he does. All the dancers and celebrities are training hard."
Strictly Come Dancing returns to screens on September 18.

Noirin is in Nuts again this week, she's looking hot as usual and got a nice figure well she is naturally pretty . Looked at some of Sophies pics and for me don't come close to the way more sexier Noirin Kelly .

I'll be getting Nuts tomorrow.
I wonder if Noirin still has plenty of fellers after her.
She is nice, hope she finds a nice feller.
I still prefer Sophie, and think we will be seeing quite a bit of her before long.
I think it was very good of her to give Siavash £10,000 for his Charity.
Noirin was like a marmite character I liked her and disliked her , I like her now but in the house went off her towards the end over the whole drama but she's a nice girl and good look to her in what she does now. She is one of the girls this year who did have a personality she went topless for the pics lmao just saw on DS, looking fine. So much revolved around her in there she sure made an impact and will be remembered.
The way Noirin and Tom were acting yesterday on BBLB I think they are together now .

You could be right, she did fancy him anyway, and as she's a free girl now.
But Tom can also have his choice of the girls I suppose.
We'll have to see how things pan out.
A couple of pics of Noirin, she's in Nuts this week.
I know Darloboy likes her.

No Kev, it's Beinazir, who never made it into the house.
I thought she would have OK as well.

Nicola T Bringing Glamour To The Jungle?
Nicola T is in talks to appear on 'I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!'.
Producers hope the glamour model - who has a baby with Plymouth Argyle midfielder and once dated Fulham striker Bobby Zamora - will be as popular as last year's football WAGs Nicola McLean and Carly Zucker.
Nicola - whose full surname is Tappenden - was thrilled to be asked to compete in the ITV show, but is worried about how long she will survive without her designer clothes and accessories.
Everyone has been warned the fee is not up for discussion. This year it's £60,000 and the view from the top is take it or leave it
She said: "I'm a label princess".
The 26-year-old has also appeared on another reality programme, starring in ITV2 series 'WAGS Boutique' in 2007.
Other contestants rumoured to be joining Nicola in the Australian jungle for the ninth series of the show include actor Brian Blessed, siblings of Michael Jackson Tito and LaToya, glamour model Samantha Fox, Snooker player Jimmy White and soap actress Kara Tointon.
Meanwhile, 'I'm a Celebrity...' executives have decided to give all contestants £60,000 in order to avoid disputes over fees.
An insider said: "Everyone has been warned the fee is not up for discussion. This year it's £60,000 and the view from the top is take it or leave it".
The next series of the show begins in November.

The Restaurant: Winners' Story - BBC2, 9pm
By Jane Simon 7/09/2009
Raymond Blanc and another nine couples will return for a third series of front-of-house disasters at the end of October.
But what became of last year's winners? We catch up here with Michelle and Russell as they prepare for the opening of The Cheerful Soul in Marlow, Bucks -- an area spoilt for choice when it comes to fine dining. Raymond's own Le Manoir Aux Quat'Saisons and Heston Blumenthal's Fat Duck are both relatively nearby.
It's a mega-stressful time, so we're impressed that Michelle is still gazing up at Russell as adoringly as ever, although she loses it big-time with Raymond's carpenter who they've commissioned to make some kind of "waiter station" out of old furniture.
And we also find out what happened to all those couples who lost out, including runners-up James and his butter-fingered accomplice Alasdair.
Where they're working now is the biggest surprise of all.

Hi GrannyG.
I hope it does, don't see why not.
It would be a shame to have to start all over.
Evening.
Dry today, so I got some work done.
Although my mower isn't running very well. It's coughing and spluttering. I think it may need a new air filter.
Glad to hear your love life is well on track Kev.
Has everybody disappeared into the clouds?
I'll have to go take a look.
Is this place closing?
We've only just got settled in.

Hi Emptybox.
I'm not too sure whats going on.
They haven't moved yet, maybe some have.
Don't think the Mower would cough and splutter if the air filter had a problem, it would just stop, it would be the same as having the choke on when warm, an engine can't run like that.
Check you haven't got water in the fuel.
Or that the plug is on properly, an spluttering fault like that is usually fuel or ignition.

Hi Hicky.
I can't find my way around Live Cloud at all.
I can't find any forums, just chats and blogs.
Perhaps I'm on the wrong site?
ETA: I think I've found the forums now, but they're bloomin well hidden.
They put a new spark plug on when they fixed the drive, so I don't think it's that, although I'll check it.
The other possibility is dirt in the carburettor, but it's using more fuel than usual, and giving out black smoke, so I don't know if that is the problem?
It's got a paper air filter, and when that starts to get a bit dirty, it starts to run rich.It can be cleaned out to a certain extent, but gets to a point where it has to be replaced.
I usually find I have to change the air filter every year, and it's a year since I changed it.
