Evening. Smiler

Was a nice day here.
I had someone here this morning valueing the house contents for probate, then I was working this afternoon.

Unfortunately the valuer didn't really find any hidden gems. Seemingly the grandfather clock and other antique furniture aren't fashionable any more. Frowner Big Grin

Hope your date goes well Kev. Cool

I think we're all missing all Hicky's BB news.
Not that I'm paying much attention to Big Brother, but it made the place look busy. Big Grin

Mollie hope that toe is getting better

Mike keep missing you on here, hope you are ok

Emptybox, great news about the rent assessment, that will take a lot of worry off your mind.

Hope Hicky's enjoying his holidays, will try and get news tomorrow of Big Brother but can only get it from DS, so not sure how much I can get.

Suzie hope you are ok and looking forward to weekend, was watching your local news earlier (the joys of Sky I can get BBC local news from all over the country so watch Spotlight quite regularly) and the weather looks like it may be ok for bank holiday, which means we might get good weather up here!!

See you all tomorrow as my husband is now back at work until Tuesday so after a little housework, I can have the computer to myself.

Last night in the BB house, Day 85/86.

03.10: Housemates are all soundly asleep - getting some beauty sleep for tonight's eviction.

02.15: Marcus gets into bed.

02.13: Marcus leaves the Diary Room and heads back into the house.

01.52: Rodrigo leaves the bed next to Charlie and goes back to his own bed next to Sophie. He puts a t-shirt on before getting into bed.

01.41: All is quiet in the BB bedroom.

01.34: Marcus goes back into the living room.

01.33: Roddy and Charlie are still under that duvet. And Marcus has entered the bedroom to get his clothes and a brush.

01.29: Rodrigo and Charlie are in bed next to each other giggling and flirting. They disappear under the covers.

01.27: King of long showers Marcus is rinsing his hair.

01.25: The annoyance that isCharlie is once again crawling along the bedroom floor - this time to Siavash who spots him and rolls over ruining his plan. Charlie once again goes back to bed.

01.22: Charlie is crawling along the bedroom floor getting ready to jump up and scare Sophie and Rodrigo. She whispers something and Sophie jumps up and squeals shouting: "You w*****. You nearly gave me a heart attack."

"Ni-i-ght," says Lisa who is trying to sleep.

Charlie returns to his own bed.

01.18: Charlie says to Marcus: "I hope you don't go tomorrow, I really do. I said that to Big Brother." Marcus is washing his hair.

01.17: Rodrigo says to Sophie: "It's very vulgar your underwear." He says he saw her thong while she was sleeping on top of the duvet.

01.16: Charlie is brushing his teeth in the bathroom while Marcus gets into the shower.

01.14: Marcus gets out of the pool. Rodrigo, David and Lisa are now in bed.

01.11: Charlie says he hopes his task to win money back for the prize fund is something that challenges him. He says he is scared of frogs so maybe Big Brother will do something with that. He adds that he only wants it to be to win a penny so people know he's not in it for the money.

01.09: Rodrigo says he is going inside the house.

00.59: Lisa goes into the bedroom and turns the light on. Sophie shields her eyes. Siavash says he doesn't care either way what happens tomorrow as he is happy with how far he has got.

He tells Sophie that he couldn't keep the prize money because it is not a part of him taking himself 'out of the game'.

00.53: Sophie says: "I will do anything except shave my hair off." She is talking to Siavash about the prize fund. He says he would shave his head for ÂĢ15,000.

He says: "Big Brother if you are listening I'd love to do Marcus' challenge." He says he would do it so he had more money to give to charity if he wins.

Sophie says: "If I shaved my hair I would never work again ever. Until my hair's grown back and it grows really really slow. As long as I don't have to give up my hair or my dogs."

00.51: Marcus, Charlie and Rodrigo are debating whether they will have 'super fans' on Big Brother's Little Brother. Marcus thinks they will. He says: "They will get asked questions like which hole you prefer putting your finger in ... Mine would be vagina by the way."

Rodrigo laughs.

Charlie says: "I hope mine is a boy."

00.46: Lisa tells David she is going to head to bed as she is tired. She makes no attempt to move though.

00.44: Charlie is sat by the pool chatting to Marcus who is still swimming.

00.43: Siavash tells Sophie that if he won Big Brother he would give the prize money to charity.

00.42: Sophie worries that she won't get any modelling jobs when she leaves the house. Siavash says: "Yes you will, Big Brother's great for that."

Sophie replies: "Only if you haven't already done topless. I've done topless. I've been there done that bought the t-shirt."

00.41: Siavash says he would love to make a living out of being a high fashion stylist.

00.40: Rodrigo asks Marcus how many laps of the pool he has done. Marcus replies: "213."

00.39: Lisa and David are sat in the living room but not talking.

00.38: Siavash says he loves working and has always worked since he was 16. Sophie says she hasn't worked since December. She says: "I feel really bad coz whenever I want something my dad has to pay."

00.36: Rodrigo is sat by the side of the pool in silence.

00.35: Sophie says: "When I leave here I want to get my own place and get my own car. If I could have any I want a Warrior, a Mitsubishi Warrior - one of them trucks."

She adds: "Or a Mini!" Not much difference there Soph!

00.34: Marcus is in the swimming pool.

00.32: Siavash says to Sophie: "If you ever need anything anytime just call me."

Sophie replies: "I will. I'll be like, 'Sia, I'm drunk, come and pick me up'."

Siavash admits that he can't drive.

00.31: Siavash and Sophie are chatting in bed. Sophie says she wishes she was up for eviction this week. She says: "I said that in the Diary Room today."

She also vows to get "really slim" when she leaves the house.

Siavash says they can't lose touch when they leave the house. They promise to see each other at least once a week.

Lisa: 'My mum will be so proud of me'
Day 86, 14:04 BST
By Jenni Marsh

Lisa has revealed that she did not expect to make it to the final of Big Brother.

Speaking with Charlie, she said that Big Brother had "spoiled" the housemates this season and thanked the show's producers for giving her the opportunity to appear on reality TV.

"I'm just really happy," she said.

"My mum will be so proud of me, and my friends, and I'm proud of myself. I've got on with all the young 'uns and had a laugh. It's like the young 'uns have just thought I was young anyway."

Lisa added that she thought she would be evicted "weeks and weeks ago".

"Even if I go before Friday, I'm gonna be the happiest, proudest girl from Birmingham," she concluded.

Davina to be a housemate?
By NADIA SAM-DALIRI

DAVINA McCall has revealed she wants to be a contestant in the Big Brother house for the show's final series next year.

The bubbly presenter admitted how sad she was after Channel 4 announced it was axing the show earlier this week but hinted that she may be in the line-up.

She wrote on her Twitter page: "Well next year we may as well go out with a bang. Think I'll audition. Yes please!"

She has even named Big Brother 10, the current series, as one her favourites ever.

There will be one further celebrity version of the show in January and then the eleventh series of the normal version will go out next summer.

But Endemol chiefs, who make the show, have hinted that they want it to carry on with another channel.

E4 boss says Big Brother could have continued
28 August, 2009 | By Kate McMahon

EDINBURGH: Big Brother would have been ‘flogged’ for a few more series, if Channel 4 was a more commercially-minded channel, says E4 head Angela Jain.

Speaking at the Edinburgh International TV Festival, Jain said the programme was still a ratings banker for Channel 4 and digital station E4, and its cancellation would leave a “humungous hole” in the schedule.

“If we were a purely commercial channel, we may have taken a slightly different decision [on re-commissioning Big Brother],” she said.

“We might have said ‘You know what, there’s probably another two or three years in it, if we’re getting 2 million, that’s fine. We’ll have that. Thanks very much.’

“I think the average is 2.5 million viewers an episode that watch it every night, so for Channel 4 that still makes it one of its top 10 rated programmes. It’s still doing really well. But the thing we were all feeling really keenly was that we just didn’t want to flog the programme to death.

Jain added that axing the franchise would free up a large portion of the summer schedule and budget for innovative new programmes in 2011 and beyond, and she was hoping to fill the void with more original and acquired dramas, entertainment and comedy series.

“What [Big Brother] represents is an entertainment show, night after night. It’s an event piece in the summer and in January with Celebrity Big Brother and the live shows, and E4 where your schedules are very structured, I’ll really miss that.

“I think it is time, by the time we come off next year we will have had 10 years of Big Brother on C4 and it’s been a massive, massive success. I think it was time to kind of move on.”

Commissioning opportunities

Jain added that while budget constraints had forced her to curb her ambitions for the E4 for this year and next, she had slots for Thursdays at 10pm for comedy and entertainment programmes.

For 2011 she is looking for 30-minute and 60-minute comedy, entertainment and factual entertainment programmes.

“It was my strategy to commission less, but spend more on [series]. I think you could commission some of [E4’s] shows for less, but it would show. You have to fund things properly. I’m sure all the indies that work for us would say we still don’t give them enough money, but we try and give a fair price for what our ambition is and what our expectation is.“

More 4 opportunities

More 4 head Hamish Mykura said he was looking for upmarket factual programmes that would help balance a diet of C4 repeats. He is also looking for one standout piece a month that can punch above its weight, like the upcoming political drama doc When Boris Met Dave.

New commissions should be made to fit in the schedule at 10pm on Tuesday, or Fridays and Saturdays where they will get a lot of notice.

He added that he would like to see more commissioned chat programmes on his channel to sit alongside programmes like satirical US news programme The Daily Show.

Hi Cold Sweat.wavey

You are most Welcome.
Big night tonight, who do you want to go, and who do you think will go?

I want Siavash to stay.

It's a difficult one to call; i suppose much hinges on whether the majority of viewers are amused by Marcus, or offended by him...

Housemates given animal accents task
Day 86, 18:58 BST
By Matt Risley

Big Brother has set the house an animal accents task.

One housemate will be called into the Diary Room, where they will be played two animal sounds. Both noises will have originated from the same species of animal, but from a different region or country.

For every animal sound that the housemate correctly identifies, ÂĢ2,000 will be added to the prize fund. As there are five different animal noises, the house could win a total of ÂĢ10,000.

The animal sounds that the housemate will have to guess are a German field cricket and a Spanish field cricket, a Glaswegian bat and a Devonshire bat, an Egyptian camel and a Balinese camel, a pheasant from Gloucester and a pheasant from Devon, and a grey seal from Dorset and a grey seal from Wales.

The housemates had their prize fund taken away from them after breaking into the camera run.

Noirin: 'Big Brother needs a sex den'
Day 86, 19:21 BST
By Daniel Kilkelly, Entertainment Reporter

Noirin has claimed that Big Brother producers should introduce a sex den on next year's series.

The evicted housemate told the Daily Star that the show could recapture the attention of viewers if contestants had designated areas for romantic moments.

In an interview with the newspaper, she commented: "There needs to be a sex den. This year's house was really dull. There were no little rooms to hide away in. We all felt really exposed.

"Next year they should build a couple of small rooms, throw down some cushions and turn the lights low. If people feel like they are at home and not on a TV show, then they are likely to drop their defences and do something stupid."

Noirin also called on show bosses to stop shying away from controversy, arguing that an uncensored house would better reflect real life.

"Big Brother needs to stop meddling and let people do and say what they want," she explained. "Before I went in, I was told I couldn't discuss racism or gay issues in the house. Why not? We talk about these kind of things in the real world. They need to stop playing God."

Channel 4 confirmed that Big Brother 11 will be the final series with the broadcaster earlier this week.
