Oooh, time for one of my favourite pieces of trivia..... Everyone thinks "Here's one I prepared earlier" comes from Blue Peter....but actually, it was first coined by Fanny Craddock on her cooking show, years before Blue Peter was aired.... Not a lot of people know that....
She used to scare me..still does if I see anything old with her in it....

Much maligned the prawn cocktail by pretentious types. I tastes LOVELY! Who care if its fashionable/naff/retro-chic/crappy bollox. Gawd bless mental old fanny (God I just typed that didn't I? I really did)
I confess I'm rather fond of prawn cocktail myself...I often have prawn cocktail sandwiches for lunch.

(And who are you calling a mental old fanny? )

Do you have any relatives with very "shocked" eyebrows?
Usually, by the end of the day!

Though none of us have been able to top my son, aged 4, calling my mother a  bitch at the christmas dinner table.  (he felt a major injustice had been committed... my mum telling him to take his Adams family robotic 'thing' hand off the table... whilst his sister was allowed to keep the furbie on the table).

Worst bit was... once the tellings offs had been done... and things smoothed over, he then calmly looked at her and repeated "bitch" again!

I have never been so shocked in my life (though I did have to excuse myself to go and laugh it out in the loo for a few mins)

Nowt gets past kids.   They notice everything!
