Most of my crockery is plain white..... although I do have some patterned mugs... from a bygone era

I have patterned mugs and the same pattern plates (wedding present).  We have broken some over the years, but still managed to keep enough!

Will only drink out of bone china mugs...........one step up from my mum who would only drink out of a bone china cup and saucer....

Well, I have some nice matching purple square plates (which match the purple walls in the kitchen!). I don't ever use the dinner plates though, as they are too big to go in the dishwasher!!

 

Also some nice grey square plates - which are a bit smaller, so I do use them.

 

Then everything else is a complete mishmash, and some of it (oh, the shame) is chipped, but I can't bring myself to throw it away.

 

Cups or mugs? Mugs every time

 

I have dinner service I bring out at Christmas, it's black and white,,, otherwise I use a set of cream for everyday and have mugs to match. Although I have loads of mugs and don't think I own a saucer  

LOL! I think I've got two saucers - which don't match. Saying that I still have my Nana's crockery from when she died, allthough I don't use it

I'm all white .....................I have lots of these square pots (small and large) and white porcelain plates and bowls ............we bought a whole load of stuff from a restaurant that went bust! I don't struggle TBH - can always make something simple look good! At Christmas I have red and gold charger plates and the white porcelain goes on it whatever the shape. Square pots for starters - round plates for main (with a side plate) and bowls or a small plate for dessert (pudding).

 

TBH - you're spoilt for choice in my house!

I'm on my own and don't entertain Soozy so I don't need a great lot TBH 

Large white square plates.  Probably too large because I seem to be able to get too much food on them  I also have small round black plates which would be much better to eat off when trying to cut back.

 

Mugs are just a mix of ones from easter eggs, plain white ones and some 'funny' ones.

Far from it!

But we got a new kitchen in June and I got new, matching crockery.

LOL! If that's what I've got to do to get matching crockery.....I shall be forever unmatching  

 

I had to wait nearly 20 years for the new kitchen.

It's the first time in decades I've been all matching.

We redecorated the kitchen this year and bought matching accessories ... I just wish I had measured to see if the plates would fit into the dishwasher

Now see - I loved the kitchen gadget/cutlery thread a few weeks back ...........................and I really love this too!

 

My daughter has been round tonight we've been planning. EXCITING!

I got my first dishwasher with my new kitchen, I love it.

All White.Mugs are Red( accent) as my kitchen is Oak with Grey worktops.

See........I know what a good kitchen looks like..........I just don't have one 

They are ridiculously enormous Yogi ... a full sized meal covers a quarter of them

 

How did we ever do without dishwashers???

I have an irrational fear of patterned plates...   cos I was brought up in a house that had Royal Albert everywhere....  EVERYWHERE   (she even has a faux Royal Albert snail on the hearth)

Mr Yogi would love giant sized plates, he loves his food.

I will refuse to be without a dishwasher ever again - it's an essential!

Oh, me too, I think I'd rather do without a washing machine than a dishwasher

I toyed between the two tonight and gave in..........the dishes got washed

Lmao sprout Ours are mugs. We have random ones here & there in the cupboards, my personal favourite is a large one from niagra falls that has maid of the mist on it. Our main set are on a tree mug in the kitchen and are black & white- 3 spotty (black with white strips).. Oh, hang on..

Oooh, that's like being asked to chose between your children.

Have you tried washing towels and sheets by hand?.............oh the wringing!!!!!!
