Right, this isnt as obvious as it sounds... it's my daughter's puppy.. He is a 14 weeks old Irish Red Setter... and he cannot travel for more than ten minutes without being really badly travel sick... tried everything... not giving him a meal for a few hours before any travel.. giving him lots of very short journey/s to try and get used to it...front seat/back seat and boot part of car... (hatchback).. lol.. she wants to be able to take him all places they go, vet did say reluctant to give him medication as it will be some sort of sedative.. and that isnt helpful when they want to go places where he will have to then walk.. any ideas/suggestions anyone, please?... appreciate all tips.. He is going to vets again today, for worming medication, no doubt he will be sick again, poor Oscar!!..

Thanks hun... I believe Leanne has looked over the net... I have emailed her the link though, as it's a very interesting site to have anyways.. I wondered if anyone had experience with their own dogs... and could give some hope/advice as to if and when it sorts itself out?... Thanks again...
kasper might be able to help Di .. I'll tip her off when I next see her

No short cuts sorry Di I will try and help but we have had an horendous year with this puppy his name is Conway and we have had one other who was travel sick his name was Kasper. Our dogs our Guide Dog pups we walk for a year.
Kasper was cleared fairly quickly with ginger biscuits before we traveled, we also found a little tuna in his biscuits helped as well, but we did not realise this until we had Conway
We have a DAP plug in the electric socket this gives out feromones and is calming he also has Werners on his biscuits this is a herbal mixture and it is also a calming agent. We tried lavender oil on his bedding in the car that did help a little but it is gradual slowly slowly, then one day he did not want his food so I had some tuna in the fridge so I just put a little amount just a teaspoon mixed in with his biscuits our dogs only have dried food so it makes it easier.
Now I am making no hard or fast claims here but after we did that we found we could go further, but we never if we are going a long way feed him before we go and if we are out all day, would when we got there just give him a very small amount of his biscuits. Then we would spend the day out letting have plenty to drink but no food and feed when we get home all this is done with Guide Dogs approval and the DAP and Werners are supplied by them Hope this helps as I dont come on here often tell Zaph if you would like to speak to me again as that would be fine Cheers

Oh I forgot to say the Tuna is the type in brine so no extra oil or fat

you can get tuna in springwater now too, so no salt either.
Thanks so much for that Kasper... I'm copying and pasting all your reply into an email to send onto Leanne... the nurse at the vets mentioned something like a plug in?.. she said best to just wait till they grow out of it, but I'm sure she will find your info really useful, nice to hear from someone who has experienced similar... thanks again, really appreciate that.. Also, thanks very much to Zaph.. and Shep too..
