A lot of scare mongering went on and people are afraid of it.
They don't realise that they don't need all the extras to use the Forum when it moves over.

Lots of confusion over that I agree. Thats why I haven't bothered with the Cloudy bit. I am quite happy to wait until we're thrown over there before I start venturing forth. I am quite happy just using this forum in the meantime.Big Grin

So is mine. I spend most of my time staring at the lights on my wireless thing waiting for the red light to turn back into green. Mad

I just got back online after posting the above. A full hour of being cut off. Mad

Is it bad weather? My connection was terrible here yesterday because of high winds. Poxy British weather!!

Yes and no. It's because all out telephone lines are overhead, and also they share the same poles as the power supply. The powerlines cause problems with wireless internet connections. So high winds affect the connection, but also when it rains as the rain gets into bits that should be kept watertight. As we get incessant rain here it's a daily problem.

Oh that's a shame, I thought broadband coverage was pretty good across the country.

Not in many rural areas, especially in Scotland. It's not that good when I'm eventually connected either as vids and iPlayer often just sit there buiffering endlessly.

Oh I see, that's a shame. Do you think it will be sorted out?

I doubt it as it all comes down to money. BT have laid off a lot of their workforce recently, and there's really nothing they can do about the overhead telephone lines in most rural places as it would be far too costly to put them below ground. Still, we're moving fairly soon, and we hope we get a better internet wireless connection where we end up. Thumbs Up

Hope you do get it sorted when you do move, you just don't think of things like that living in an urban area like I do, you just take it for granted that all the services that you want will be there the second you need them.
