Do you have a new short list now Ells?

I have no idea what this baby is going to called now. My partner and I keep going off names we had liked at the beginning. I am going to wait until I get the gender scan then have 3 or 4 names for when the baby arrives so I can see which he or she suits. At this rate the poor thing will be nameless.
Wait until you see him or her and see who they are. I had 3 fav names for Master C, but when I saw him he wasn't any of them, and the name I chose (it was an Uncles name on his biological fathers side) just popped in to head and that's who I thought he was.
Haley?
Bailey for girl or boy
Kyla for a girl

I've got a shortlist. I think. Well it's subject to change but for now we've narrowed it down to:
Madison
Abigail
Lauren
Not too sure about Lauren because it's too similar to mine (Laura).
I know girls named all three of those and the last two are lovely girls but the 'Mads' is a right little sod!
I love Lauren and the other two are nice too
I love Abigail ,not so keen on Lauren .

What about Ella (Bella)?
MEANING: Ancient Irish name from the noun aine that means âsplendor, radiance, brilliance.â Aine is connected with fruitfulness and prosperity. The queen of the Munster fairies was called Aine as was one of the wives of Fionn Mac Cool (read the legend). Aine appears in folktales as âthe best-hearted woman who ever lived â lucky in love and in money.â
GENDER: Girl | Female
PRONUNCIATION: awn + yeâ
ENGLISH: Anya, Anna, Hannah
My best friend for years was named Aine, she was a right bitch.
My kids have taken it upon themselves to find the baby a name.
The eldest wants to call her Mya and the youngest wants either Jane, Mary or Summer.

Aine is out then .
Mya is a wonderful name ,best name so far .
I do love Mya Just thinking it might be too similar to my recent niece, Mila. I will give it some more thought though!
I remember an episode of 2.4 children and the word (name) Mya had a very sinister relevance in one particular episode.
My favourite name for females in the Sims3 is Persephone ...... I think it has a ring to it. I don't know why it stuck with me but I like it.

I used to think that was pronounced Percy-phone
my friend had a cat called Persephone ..........I thought it was a lovely name - my cat was called Winkle
Incidentally there is no way I'm advocating Winkle as a possibility - Scallop or Scampi at a push .........................and no matter what Cosi tells you don't whatever you do go for Whelk.

I'd avoid most fish-based words:-
Limpet, flounder, dog, cat, cuttle, prawn, etc.,
What about Phaedra?
It's different and quirky, but not "TOWIE loving mum trying to be American" quirky.
Plus she can shorten it to Phae, to give it a little je ne sais quoi.

You've never read Euripides' 'Phaedra' have you?

Not exactly.
I 'read' the play in a desperate attempt to get an O'Level in Ancient Greek because back in the day if you were thought to be an Oxbridge candidate it was encouraged to add it to your educational arsenal. Suffice to say, I didn't even achieve other peoples' expectations in all respects. Got a bad degree from a red-brick uni eventually.

Different ok... but Peaches Geldof got there first (although she though it was a boy's name)
Xochi, you make me feel stupid.. you think Greek Mythology and I think Celeb babies and Tangerine Dream albums...
