I did to know you were having a baby that's superb news
Aww Sweet, I posted about it in the random thread a few times I'm getting more and more excited about it now. I'm only 17 weeks but found out so early so it feels like I've been pregnant ages!
Mayfair Sky Blue Ivy is just perfect.
I wonder if Bey and Jay will object to me using that colour and plant in my baby's name.
I'm so happy for you though, it's very exciting- what's your due date?
I'm trying to think of some names for you
But I do like Eve, Madeline, Polly, Harriet, Emily, Scott, Carl, Elliot...
18th of September so still ages away. Loads of time to think of names but I have been thinking a lot about them since finding out I was pregnant and it's just getting harder!
We prefer the classic names. Think Kings n' Queens!

Joffrey?

But I'm an Irish Catholic so I don't think baby William would go down too well with the locals
My Granda (who was an Englishman) was called Harry and I do quite like that but my OH doesn't.

Being catholic it's not arbitary to name your child after a saint, but when I was growing up that's exactly what parents did.
The saints name thing is done on their confirmation now so I think that's still nice.
Roman!!!
Not Ronan or Rowen, but Roman!
Oooh, i like that.

No maybe not
Harry is nice though.

There was a Roman in Home & Away a few years ago.
Names always make me think of soap characters

my parish priest was refusing initially to baptise me because my name wasn't a saints name and unusual for the time - eventually he gave way as my second name is Elizabeth

You can't go wrong with Harry My oldest grandson is Harry - I love the name.
Now if it's an Irish name you're after .......................surely - you can't go far wrong with Patrick (it's only recently I've got around to liking that name - I have an uncle and two cousins with the name). Always thought 'meh' but - it is really rather a nice name. Or Seamus.
I dunno Sooz, Patrick and Seamus are a bit too old fashioned for me. I'm not sure about an Irish name either because I can't see any that I really like.
I keep thinking about the name Harry. My partner really doesn't like it but I think I will try to use it as his second name.
(I am saying 'his' as I really think it's a boy and that feeling has got a bit stronger this past few days).
I love old fashioned names Ells ...I have a Thomas, Ben and Georg(ina) and my grand sons are Harry and Jack.
I rather like Albert

Albert was my great grandas name (I think).
Aww I really am struggling to make a shortlist.

How about Henry?
My favourite book in the worls is 'A Star Called Henry by Roddy Doyle' doesn't come much more Irish than that and ..........................Henry's are often called Harry ......................Prince Harry is actually Henry.
Horrid Henry is a regular on our TV screens in here.
I know I am saying no to all these suggestions but I really am grateful for the suggestions. I just wish something would come along that I just think 'YES!' to!

What are some names you hate, Soozy?
Jayden, Keanu, Brooklyn anything that's sort of made up American rubbish actually (not really keen on Mason tBH) sorry
Don't like surnames as christian names if that makes sense.

Oh I like Jayden and of course Mason Now we're getting somewhere
Yes, there is a trend of surnames becoming christian names now like Mason, Austin, Jackson, Kennedy etc.
I do like American names also
Ells my toes curl when I hear Jayden don't know why but it is a name I absoluuuuutely detest!!!
I'm just getting old and miserable TBH.
Soozy it is quite often referred to as 'chavvy' so it's not just you who doesn't like it.
I think it might go on my shortlist for now
Don't know what has gone before so.....

Sorry Machel I did miss your post with so many adding to the thread!
Oscar is actually a lovely name. Xavier Austin is the name of another character in Home and Away lol. I always think of that when I heard the name Xavier.
My lovely niece is a Taylor and is Lexi short for something?
Congrats Ells!
Saw our first Khaleesi n the paper the other day.. (oh how we laughed )
with a dead standard british surname...
Mother of Dragons Jones type thing..
(so those that don't watch Game of Thrones... Khaleesi is the royal title for one of the female characters, it means Mother of Dragons)
