Although saying that, the initials may not be such I good idea for him.
Thandie Newton has named her son Jombe
Jambalaya and a crawfish pie and fillet gumbo
For tonight, I'm a-gonna see my, my Cher a mi-oh
Pick guitar, fill fruit jar and be gay-oh
Son of a gun, we'll have big fun on the bayou
Ells, you just go with your favourite. If I'd had the good fortune to have a girl I'd heve called her Raphaela, (Raffy for short,) and no references to Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles/it's a boy's name etc. would have put me off
For a girl atm i like Isla said eye-la
Aileach in Irish? Nice
Brody (although not too sure about this one)
Girls:
Leila
Have you watched Homeland? Yummy Yummy!
I like Leila but it's become v popular recently
I found it very hard to name my own babies (names in hat, Faye Dunnaway made an entrance), so I wouldn't presume I could do it for you.

Ooh yes, I watched Homeland but I didn't even connect the two when I saw the name on one of those baby name lists!
I really like Leila but my OH has just pointed out it's too similar to my sisters baby's name. And while I don't mind stealing some relatives names, her kids and mine are close so they'd be together a lot.

It's sooo hard Col!! I don't remember it being this hard the last 2 times.
Names in a hat is a very good suggestion at this stage
I think when I find out the sex it will make it easier as I only need to focus on one gender then.
Although saying that, the initials may not be such I good idea for him.
*ahem* MY initials are BJ....
I will not respond... I will not respond... i will not respond....
Don't know what has gone before so.....
boys: Oscar, Xavier, Austin
girls: Lexi, Taylor
Sorry I'm so late to this - I was out last night.
I rather liked one of the names on Crimson Field on Sunday. Adelinde - I've never heard it before and thought that'd be nice.
TBH - I really don't like modern names - I always prefer traditional so I may not be much help.
Thanks Cosi, I also asked her just to edit it out of any quoted posts or mention of it. I hope no-one minds?! It's not a big deal but I just think it gives too much away as my sons are named here too
I'm not keen on Rawky's suggestion. Next he'll be suggesting gold ties for the christening.
You can delete anything of mine, Ells. I think you're right - because we're so small and have chatted for so long it feels sort of safe and private here... but the 'gypsy benefit' thread should probably remind us it's not..
I still like Ells's choices of Amber and Mason best
Other nice Irish girls' names are Eeefin and Ailish [ not sure of the spelling but that's how they're pronounced ]. Always loved Eeefin -associate it with "elfin" ie fairy like.
Or Grace as someone suggested. After Grace O'Malley the Irish pirate queen of legend

I love the name, Frog Morton

Oh I hadn't been in there to even see what was going on. I just thought I had spilled TMI even though I do already have a few of you on facebook. I'm not worried about any of YOU knowing my name.....just random people who might only stop here for a nosey or whatever.
Jen has been lovely and deleted any mention of it and the thread has survived
I just wish May would hurry up and get here I really wan to know if it's a girl or boy!!
My OH is convinced it's a girl but I'm thinking it's a boy which is why I have been more focused on finding a boys name.
Sons have been asked for their suggestions. Eldest wants anything related to xbox games and the youngest wants a footballers name......last night he suggested Bale or Ronaldo

You're just right Ells- and being a good mammy . All someone has to do is google a name and surname and this thread would come up.
Yes Rog, then facebook it or whatever
Indeed, Ells.
Seeing as you're getting salad cravings, how about these for names:

I can see her now, with her siblings Chardonnay, Argos and Versace
For christening gifts... necklaces with their names spelled in diamante. Sovereign rings for the boys of course.

There was a character in a Miss Marple book, called Lettice Protheroe. She said it ought to be pronounced 'Let-eese' but everyone called her Lettuce.

Curses. I wasn't so lucky. It is my middle name because my grandma died only months before I was born.

Hmmm I was swaying more towards Mayfair Blue Ivy for a girl.

I like that, BUT, Mayfair Sky Blue Ivy sounds better.
