I found it very hard to name my own babies (names in hat, Faye Dunnaway made an entrance), so I wouldn't presume I could do it for you.

Ooh yes, I watched Homeland but I didn't even connect the two when I saw the name on one of those baby name lists!

I really like Leila but my OH has just pointed out it's too similar to my sisters baby's name.  And while I don't mind stealing some relatives names, her kids and mine are close so they'd be together a lot.

It's sooo hard Col!!  I don't remember it being this hard the last 2 times.

I rather liked one of the names on Crimson Field on Sunday. Adelinde - I've never heard it before and thought that'd be nice.

TBH - I really don't like modern names - I always prefer traditional so I may not be much help.

You can delete anything of mine, Ells.   I think you're right - because we're so small and have chatted for so long it feels sort of safe and private here... but the 'gypsy benefit' thread should probably remind us it's not..

Other nice Irish girls' names are Eeefin and Ailish [ not sure of the spelling but that's how they're  pronounced ]. Always loved Eeefin -associate it with "elfin" ie fairy like.

My OH is convinced it's a girl but I'm thinking it's a boy which is why I have been more focused on finding a boys name.

Sons have been asked for their suggestions.  Eldest wants anything related to xbox games and the youngest wants a footballers name......last night he suggested Bale or Ronaldo

We have used family names in the past like George, Lucy, Thomas, Phoebe - one that has never been used which I love is Jemima. Great Grandma and Great Great Grandma ..................we never really wanted to use one Nans name though - that was Hilda

Curses. I wasn't so lucky. It is my middle name because my grandma died only months before I was born. 

Hmmm I was swaying more towards Mayfair Blue Ivy for a girl.

I like that, BUT, Mayfair Sky Blue Ivy sounds better.
