I think Oisin is nice for a boy.

My eldest has an Irish name (Caolan) so I wouldn't rule it out.  Just haven't seen any that I really like yet.

.. and how do you pronounce that?

Key-lan or Key-lin.  Or jesuschristwouldyoupackthatin.

For a girl I have a few names I have always liked. Hannah, Emily, Charlotte to name three. They just seem very clash names to me.

I would like to change my name to Xavier.

Hannah is a lovely name.  I just know I'd call her Hannah Banana though.

I probably shouldn't tell you that my great niece Abby gets 'Abby Kebaby' or 'Abs Kebabs' then eh?

Awww but

I dunno Sprout, Mason..... not 100% sure on it but the middle name will be Michael (after my Dad) so I think that makes it a little easier on the tongue.

Kyle is actually a name that is already in the family but I just feel like saying so effing what?  It's not like 2 cousins can't have the same name, especially when their families aren't close.

A few generations ago the names of children were given following fairly stringent rules :-

1st boy named for father's father

2nd boy named for mother's father

1st girl named for mother's mother

2nd girl named for father's mother

So it was fairly common for several cousins to have the same first name.

I was named after my auntie and either my mam or my mam's brother's wife (both had same name)

Exactly.  You's have been as much use as a chocolate teapot.

Although you's have also been a lot more help than my OH who just says No to everything except Mason as he had been told from day 1 that that's what I was naming the baby so he better get used to it.  He's gotten used to it and now I'm not so sure.  I think he might kill me soon.

1st son has his dad's dad's name as his middle name and 2nd son has my dad's middle name as his name (kinda....Dad's middle name is James but we named baby Jamie....close enough).

I've just been looking through Irish names and nothing is sticking out just yet.  My OH is more interested in Irish names so I will set him that task to pick some out!

Patrick or Logan?

Sinead?

Finn? (maybe a bit close to Vinnie though).

erm... will ponder further.

I always want to shout "Yeeeee-hah!" when I hear that name.

(We have an Ellie Mae in the family....)

Yes, anything with a Mae/May after it makes me think that too.  Ellie is a lovely name though.  As is Amelia.
