(I'm a .... too - I feel your pain).  It's a good excuse to go for a different or more individual name though

Keeping up wih the ....

And I had thought Nathan was an ok name.  It's a definite no now tho.

Why not???  I like it.

It's funny how things like that can put you right off a name.

Exactly.  There are some really lovely names that are no good because of silly reasons like that but I know I couldn't name my baby after someone I really didn't like.

(Sorry to any Liverpudlian football fans who have been offended by his reaction.)

Tsk.. tell him, boy or girl, it's going to Beyonce and you won't be moved.  That'll sort him...

I would be exactly the same.

I'm stuck for names for the baby.  Yes, it's a little early but I need time to get used to the name and persuade my partner to go along with it.

So far I haven't found one I really LOVE but am swaying towards Mason although I'm not sure it fits with my surname.

I'd like some help from you lot.  What's a nice name to you?  Are my shortlist names awful?

Boys:

Mason

Kyle

Brody (although not too sure about this one)

Girls:

Maddison

Abigail (Abbie)

Amber

Leila

And I will add to the thread as we go along and see if we can find a name for this baby before it's born!

The choice of first name will have to scan well with the last name, so that will discount some suggestions.

We can mime if that helps?

Can you sing 'Far away'?

State your distance

My Dad used to catch us with that one.  'Can you sing Far Away'?  'What's that Daddy?'  'The farther away the better'

Cheeky sod.

For a girl I have a few names I have always liked. Hannah, Emily, Charlotte to name three. They just seem very clash names to me.

I would like to change my name to Xavier.

Hannah is a lovely name.  I just know I'd call her Hannah Banana though.

I probably shouldn't tell you that my great niece Abby gets 'Abby Kebaby' or 'Abs Kebabs' then eh?

Considered any Irish names Ells?

I think Oisin is nice for a boy.

My eldest has an Irish name (Caolan) so I wouldn't rule it out.  Just haven't seen any that I really like yet.

.. and how do you pronounce that?

Oh God.  My nephews girlfriend is called Abbie and is ummm 'Jolly' as Pirate would say.  Now I'm going to think of her as Abbie Kebaby.
