Ladies of the BB forum (and gents but I'm guessing this isnt going to interest you)
I require a graduation ball dress and I'm faced with a whole worldwide web of offerings. Please help me narrow down/ find the perfect dress as apparently this will be a highly photographed event.
I'm 5ft 3 so the right length is critical here (plus this is a university event- the yellow buses that take us to the venue are the very same buses used in freshers week- vomalious)
I will link up a few that I like and I'd really appreciate your feedback/criticisms and any dresses you see that will suit this event

Whoooo Trix - I have just gone through the ball dress horror for my daughter, who needed one for her post GCSE ball.

We got a great one from Coast for her ... but that might be a bit mainstream for you.

Hope it's all going well

Trixy I like the first two you posted - I would recommend you try Monsoon too - I struggled for months to find a dress for a wedding last year and had a choice of about five in Monsoon

Bo - how are loooove? - haven't seen you in ages

That link doesn't get you there sorry.Try googling Wedding Favors Beverley Hills.scroll down to Wedding favors Bargains. When you are on the site,  on the lefthand side there are Prom Dresses click on that.

Well done on the graduation.... for what it's worth I liked the b&w gothic dress ...I was looking for an occasion dress with my daughter a few weeks ago and after raking through the racksin TK Max she had a good choice to try - and she got a good buy.  Might be worth a look in there

TK Max is often good - unfortunately, on the day that we went you had to be of a flamboyant nature and a certain age to enjoy their dresses. Think Bet Lynch

I was well cross coz my friend had been there the week before and got a darling of a dress for her daughter which cost £35

The green one  I never got to do a Prom. On my 21st I wore a vintage Worth Couture dress that my mum bought from Paris in the 1960s. I still have it and had this dream that I would let my daughter wear it to her first formal thing if I ever had a girl.....I ended up having twin girls 2 years ago so it will just have to go to the one it fits and suits better

Hi Trixy

Out of the Debenhams links at the top of your thread, I much prefer the green one - it looks more for special occasions than, say, the black and blue one - dont like the red one, but that may be cos I really dont like the colour red

Hope you find something special and have a fab time

I hated the blue one

I've had this response from a lot of people haha, I'm rubbish at being girly much more at home in my skinny jeans and baggy t shirts, or dresses that in no way resemble prom haha so I thought it best to get some advice.

Funnily enough that's one that caught my eye too - it's gorgeous - I also like the Erica Statement Bandeau dress.

That's the problem with Monsoon online too - I'm only 5ft1 so it was  impossible to check the sizes properly.

I ended up going into the store and found most of them were too long

I know that well.
I am sending my mum out on a hunt for all these dresses in shops, she can tell me if they are long enough/short enough as she's only a teeny bit smaller than I am and how nice they look on the hanger and then I can rush home after my final exam to go and try on the chosen few and finally decide on one. Exciting but also not a moment that I am particularly wishing to come faster- I need as much time as possible for these exams.

Green You will look fierce
I love the green one, so does mummy, brother and male friend. Male friend wondered if it would be too formal, mummy said not with the right accessories. Housemate told me it was awful and would make me look like a dwarf.

Well good luck with them Trixy - even though it's over 20 years since I sat an exam I still remember the feeling of panic

Oooo I adore the first one super thats gorgeous! *sends mummy a text*
Lovely isn't it? And I can just see you in it with those beautiful big blue eyes, hair up with a few 'tendrils' to show off the back and bodice and some nice strappy high heels
