Hmmmm
Bateman.......forever the contravertial (spelling????)
This is my little soldier with his wife and sons just back from Afghanistan. So, yes, I completely endorese the 'Help for Heros'.
Not for nowt's sake, lol. Just a well rehearsed debate about what constitutes a hero these days. Been in too many and been battered with the notion that anyone who serves in the nation's armed forces is by definition heroic. I disagree. :/
my son has been in iraq once and afghanistan 3 times ,,,,,, know matter what anyone thinks in my eyes he is a hero ........ always will be
who would step up ......... would you ?
U is entitled to ur balanced opinion Bateman but MY SON IS A HEROE imo
Reference:
SON IS A HEROE imo
Change that to (im)balanced and there's nothing I can rationally disagree with there.
in front of a gun .......... you would faint lol

Well quite. My son's been shot at, had to de whatever IEDs, the vehicles he drives are forever been blown off the road, so yes, unless you want to step up to the plate, shush and go about your mundane daily business. Reference:

I've had a gun stuck in my face. I've had knives pulled on me... etc etc. I did not faint. Just to correct you.

Just felt I should correct you that not being in Her Majesty's forces does not mean you would faint in the face of what these people have to face on a daily basis.
As you say - it's not a competition.

Thing is though, you go to the office or whatever job you have to in the morning, these people (including our sons) get up to a day where they might not see the end of it and, whilst I agree that they have made that choice themselves, in my son's case (as many other's), he never thought he would see a war. He wanted to, but never thought he would, now he doesn't want to anymore, but knows he will again.Reference:

You behave, lol. Why would I fall out with you...

He joined the "armed forces" but never thought he'd see a war? Did he not read the prospectus? :/
And yet he "wanted" to see a war?
This all seems very odd. Was it any war he fancied seeing or just armed conflict in general? Until he changed his mind.
Yo Madamski. Enjoy the interim.

If that's normality, I'll "cvivvel" away happily, love. Bonne chance!
