Hi hun, Babies are very good at tugging on the heartstrings aren't they? I was just the same as you, I didn't want to leave mine to cry, but I promise you no harm ever comes to a baby left to cry for a while, just try to manage 30 minutes, it wouldn't surprise me if your baby was asleep by then! Even if you can last 10 or 15 minutes it is a start and your baby will get used to you leaving the room rather than having to be there all the time which is exhausting Hug

Sometimes having them sleep in the same room as you are, and listening to normal everyday sounds....TV, talking, hoovering, dishes clanking makes them settle easier...babies do cry, and the tenser you are the louder they cry, try to relax BeerBelle (easier said than done I know)...go and run the bath....baby will be sleeping soundly soon and you will be prodding, just incase HugValentine

It's a nightmare I know.

My daughter was just like that. I was so sleep deprived I just didn't know where I was. She was born in April and it was my birthday at the end of September. My Mum asked me what I would like for my birthday and all I REALLY wanted was a good solid night's sleep.

So my Mum took my baby off for 24 hours while I just slept and slept and slept. It was the best birthday present i have ever had.

The first 6 months were hell.

You've just got to cope as best you can and take no notice what other people tell you. They all give conflicting advice and every baby is different.

TRUST YOUR OWN INSTINCTS.
Remember "Time and the hour run through the roughest day."
It will all work out OK in the end.

He WILL sleep alone BeerBelle. I had a 4 week old last year (I'm a foster carer) and the first night was HELL!!! I got less than 2 hours sleep in total. By the 2nd night, he sussed out that he would have to sleep in his moses basket and all was fine. I know it's hard but for your own sanity, you have to be firm.

Although, sleeping in your bed is fine as long as you haven't been drinking or taking drugs.
