thanks roger ...I want to know if it cost alot

Adoption CAN make things a bit tricky, but not necessarily. It also depends on whether you want to follow the adoptive family or the biological family. Of course the more you know about the antecedents - and I mean real hard facts - the better, but you can still ferret out details  EVEN IF YOU DON'T KNOW MUCH it's just a bit more work involved.

I see, like by an aunt or uncle or grandparents? So the adoptive family and the biological family are pretty much the same.

If her mum and dad were married (or on good enough terms) it'll give his name too and their occupations.

I guess your mum's real name is best , but try both and see what turns up ....its often a case of trial and error

Quite often these things are linked and the one will bring up the other.
