I love hedgehog crisps!

Awww they're so cute
I nearly kicked one in the winter, it was dark and luckily I saw it just in time, I put my big chunky mitts on and tried to move him over, those spikes are lethal

Our dog killed a baby one last year
We saved the other baby, and the mum... but one of the babies died in my hand... I cryed for hours.

All right
We once had a hedgehog family in our back garden, they were so cute. They had three little baby hedgehogs and I used to look out for them every night
My hedgehog's cuter
Don't forget that milk is bad for them, unless you want a lot of smelly hedgehog poo in your garden.

It was horrible. I love my dog to bits, but I couldn't look at him for a few days, even though I knew he was only doing what came naturally.
mine was more scruffy

LOL... presumably you're letting the one in your garden just get on with what it was doing then. The one in this pic.... kinda looks like he's giving a really dirty look to the camera!

What happened was... heard the dog going mental in the back garden... rushed out and he was trying to jump in a wheelbarrow full of water (we keep it full of water cos the birds like to bathe in it) that was by the back fence. I grabbed a torch... and realised there was a baby hedgehog in there.... grabbed a plant pot and scooped it out.
Meanwhile hubby is catching the dog. Then we saw the mum scuttling down the side of the house towards the front garden. So I took the baby out the front... and we watched them reunited. A happy ending we thought.
Meanwhile, daughter had heard all the noise and gone out the back (letting the dog back out) to see what had happened.... seeing we weren't there she then came to the front of the house. (leaving the dog in the back garden).
Came back through to the back and saw the dog was at it again.... dragged him off the other baby... but he had bitten it hard... I picked it up.. and after about a minute, it shuddered and died.
We put the dead body by the side of the house for the night (dunno how sentimental mummy hedgehogs are, but I wanted her to be able to see her baby had died, rather than just gone missing).
A few nights later we did see mum and the surviving baby... and they were regular visitors to the front garden for the next month or so.
awwwwwwwwwwwwww my dog let us know it was there to

I don't think the dog would have been able to hurt an adult... too spikey. But the babies were obviously not spikey enough.

oooh dear. i'd have been an emotional wreck by the end of the night - and i'm not that big of an animal lover
glad it was all okay for the mummy and other baby though
I have four hedgehogs in my garden; I often stand outside and listen to them snuffling about.
One time, I was stood quietly, in the dark, and one of them ran right over my foot...I yelped so loud I woke up the neighbours

lol i'd love to do that - but seeing as slugs are my one and only phobia, i'm thinking a carniverous hedgehog may be a better option
on the slug/toe day, the neighbours rang to see if i'd been bitten by something - apparently i scream very loudly
I hate slugs but I like snails.

I like snails too... but not when they are eating my veggies. I always aim for a soft landing... next doors veggie patch

I must just be lucky.
I have all sorts visiting my garden; a fox, weasels, bats, frogs and toads, and even a deer once. There are house martins in the eaves, pigeons in the apple tree and a pheasant who keeps trying to turn my birdtable over.
My cats have learned to leave most of them alone...usually the hard way
