Labour have only got themselves to blame. The only stuff I got from Labour was to urge us NOT to vote SNP, but there was nothing to encourage us to vote for them,

And the LibDems turned themselves into a bit of a joke really.

Just catching up now, what a night for the SNP, Libdems took a fair old kicking, as expected . I can only say thank goodness we dont have Iain Gray as First Minister

ooh  I posted last night then closed down and missed this. .thread's grown a lot since then.. [still got to catch up]  .I understand what you are saying about the fight for the women's vote etc.. but now we have it we also have the choice to vote or not.. this time my protest was in choosing not to vote. .tho I don't often vote in Local elections anyway and was not happy with the AV vote but want a change to the FPTP thing too. .and I usually vote Tory in a General election cos of being slightly right of centre in my views.. *ducks form all the flying things from the lefties on here *

also tis not easy for me to leave the house as it is [being a aggy sufferer]  so wasn't going to stress myself for something I didn't want to partake in anyway

anyway this time I feel if there was an election tomorrow I would not want to vote for anybody.. my first choice disappoints me and I don't have a second choice. I have felt that over the last decade or so Government has become divorced from the general population and the real people behind the leaders have come out from behind their screens ..ie big business here and abroad.. . and I don't see it changing ever again really regardless of who's in power.. 

Tho if some parties like the commies, BNP or fascist starting gaining some ground I would go vote to ensure they didn't get in..

In reality I am a political philistine. .
