Yes I went a couple of hours ago. It was very quiet in the polling station.

Yes at about one o'clock,pissing with rain up here in Glasgow that might affect the vote.Three ballot papers up here.One for the AV,one for Constituancy MSP and one for the list MSP. The list one was nearly two and half feet long,lots of candidates on that one.

10am. Three people behind the table. Two of us voting.

We are lucky if we get one visit during the campaign.

 

I'm waiting for my son to finish work, so that I can drag him down there and tell him what to vote for. 

Not yet, a car does keep going round with aloud hailer shouting at you too go and vote  and it scares the poo out of me everytime it does

I voted about 5 hours ago. There was someone ouside making a note of those who had voted, and I've just seen him walking down past my house knocking at the door of those who hadn't yet voted, so he didn't knock at my door.

 

Apart from a couple of flyers, one Conservative and one Liberal (Labour doesn't bother as they have no chance of winning the ward where I live), I have had no-one knocking at the door during the campaign.

 

And at General Election time I am unlikely to ever get people knocking at the door as my MP represents another town over 10 miles away.

Maybe it's just my area then   I even got asked by one of the people at my door if I had voted for their party!  It was tongue in cheek but still put me on the spot

You should have said, "Well, I voted for AV, but I didn't realise it stood for Annoying Visits!"

 

Haven't been round to vote yet but will do later,tbh it's a case of feeling I have to choose the best of a bad bunch,I know who I don't want to be elected.

I would have said no even if I had they shouldn't be asking. But at least it wasn't on the way in.

 

I voted No to AV it would be ok if there was 4 or more main parties but as it stands it would favour the libdems  too much.

They don't bother here. The chance of anyone but the Tory party is remote. However the also took the constituency in the general election, so we have a lot of work to do

We will be off to vote in a little while, but never seem to get anyone knocking on the door to check....

Foyle....aye it was quick, in fact there was only one other person in voting but a lot of people outside the polling station.

I've just taken Growly Jnr to vote for the first time - she was very excited   We haven't got local elections here, so it was just the referendum vote.  I don't think I've ever missed voting in any kind of election since I was 18. 

 

We don't seem to get many canvassers round here during the run up to elections - perhaps after all these years, the Labour Party know better than to come knocking on my door

The Tories occasionally send me birthday and Xmas cards - how nice of them - nice to know tax payers' money's going on worthwhile expenses!   he he, they'll have to try a lot harder than that!

The Tories haven't been back here since I told one of them I would NEVER vote for the Nasty Party. Apart from that, we never get canvassers and I wouldn't answer the door to any of them anyway.

But it's not about what the state of the parties are just now, it's about how things might be and/or become in the future too. How do you know you WONT have 4 or five to choose from in the next election, or  the next, or the next...







And yes, I've voted, why do you think I'm so late home. We have three papers to fill in in Scotland....for a person for a specific seat, for a party for a general seat and for the AV referendum.

I don't nor do I know I will have. In the here and now I am not happy with AV so chose to stick with FPTP I would have voted for PR but that wasn't a option. The way I see it with only 3 major partys it would only benefit the lib dems.Plus no one else seems to want it (labour is split on the issue)

Yes i have voted, and yes that Scottish one took some reading !  Hope the weather doesnt put too many people off going out, its raining heavily here.  Will be interesting seeing the results, as Labours top man is a bit of a muppet (Iain Gray), a view given by many , not just me ....

Just been and voted which is a bit momentous because the way it looks that was the last time I'll ever vote and the next time will be the first time in a quarter of a century that I ever missed

am sick of all politcal parties... they can all do a running jump and they are all pretty much, much of a muchness nowadays despite pretending they aren't..

 

That's sad. I understand your viewpoint but I would prefer more people to vote otherwise democracy doesn't work. A hundred years ago you probably wouldn't have been allowed to vote. Since then many activists died, went on hunger strike, or merely chained themselves to railings so that you might vote. Ah gwan, gwan, gwan! You still have time. I don't care if you vote Tory and Yes!!

Never had a single visit here. Labour seat for years and years and years. They barely bother getting off their arses and the other parties can't be bothered to waste time and money on a no brainer...

We could always form the gaga party with a policy of free 20 megabyte broadband for all

My next door neighbour went to vote an hour ago and she said she was the only one there    no one ever comes and knocks on our doors to remind us to vote
