My overall impression from last night was that C4 do not like any of their chosen (potential)HM's. The treatment of them was verging on the mean considering the hurdles they had had to clear to get into the house. By the same token they made it pretty clear that they had nothing but contempt for us on their forum. Was that your impression too?

Yup...I don't think C4 want anything to do with BB at all...if their opt out fee's weren't so high they would've dropped BB years ago.

I don't think I recognise your name from the old C4 forum, although you might well have been there. But I think all of us who were on there in the last few months felt a general feeling of contempt for us fans. They booted us out with as little notice as possible and it was only the clever thinking of one of us (Bovrilking) that enabled us to move over and continue our little community.
It was just that watching the show I got this same feeling that they had no respect for the potential HM's in a way I have never felt before when watching the show. Just my own opinion which is why I asked whether it was one that anyone else shared.
Also not everyone wants to see HM's treated in an evil way, I just want to watch HM's in the way it used to be. Each to his own.
Is it really any wonder that channel 4 is worried about advertising revenue, begging the BBC for license fee money and failing to provide any original programming? They treat the fans of their biggest cash cow like idiots.
I would be interested to see if they earn much money this series from voting.

And that's fine you're entitled to it as I said I was confused as to why you felt that way but you've explained it but I don't think that's the case personally - As I said we've (perhaps not you or all people by any means) moaned and griped about how BB could easily be more mean/cruel/evil to the HMs; we get it first thing this year and around the time-frame on which CH4 have given us to watch the show at all and some people still aren't happy about it?
lolPersonally for a show which has been flogging a dead horse for many years prior without such a clip on a new 'twist strategy' - as much as they've still NOT redeemed themselves in my eyes they pulled a pretty good one, for the start of the show, IMHO.

I was referring to the point about the situation they've put HMs in.
I mean logically it seems the contempt we all have for CH4 now is overshadowing the fact they've actually pulled one half of a decent series out of the bag. - They've created their own downfall though...
Because see if they keep this style of play up throughout the show - HAD they coupled it w/ continuing the L.F, it would have gotten BB back to where it was in the beginning.

Well I won't be voting this year as there is no live feed, don't like to make decisions on the edited version

I don't mind BB being mean/evil....but I do think that the HM's and us are owed a decently hyped and suitably razzmatazzed launch night show. Which we didn't get imo...it all has the feeling of 'doing it because they have to'.

Well you're doing better than me GJ because so far I am not taking to any of them. The only mildly funny thing is how they all think they are so special and unique and then they find themselves in a room with 15 other people who all think the same
I think Channel 4 will scrap bb if this series doesnt go well considering the recession right now and them cutting costs like the forum, live feed

I haven't watched any since 10pm last night. The first guy had a PPE degree, and the Lesbinim woman looked nice. After that it went downhill with so many usual suspects they might as well have put last year's in.
Whatever has happened since I'm not sure.
They do seem to be treating the show like a colostomy bag. Absolutely neccessary to your well being but not something you'd brag about to your friends.
