Can i just say ...
I am fed up with people expecting Gordon Brown and other politicians to have an answer to every little problem.
Mr. Brown can't do anything right - the others don't have any alternative ansewrs cos they are dealing with the same problems - world problems.
I think they work hard - make mistakes - don't do wot everyone wants - can't do wot everyone wants.
I get tired of all the attacks at every move they make

I can't see Fox News UK (Sky) leaving a mike on Cameron. Stinky mess!
Seems odd that the the person from Sky who mic'd him up didn't remove it before he got into his car, surely that person who's job it is to do that must have done it many many times when Sky interview someone. Kay Burley seems to be relishing in the scenario with all the negative comments she's been coming out with. The media are like vultures as usual hounding the poor woman involved in it all

This is a link to the BBC article as it now stands which goes into more detail as to what exactly was said at his first meeting with Mrs Duffy, what was said in the car, her initial response on being told what he had said, Brown's initial apology on Radio 2, and Brown's comments to reporters after having visited Mrs Duffy. What is clear is that at their first encounter Mrs Duffy kept on interrupting Brown as he was trying to answer her questions. I think it is likely that Brown's comments in the car were, although ill-judged, were said in irritation at having been heckled. Apparently Mrs Duffy has accepted his apology, and the matter is closed. Whether the media see it that way is open to doubt.

This supercedes my earlier post on the matter. For the record I have never been a Labour supporter.

I also feel very sorry for her. She's a 65 year old widow, living on her own and she's been dragged into this horrible media frenzy caused by the thoughlessness of our Country's leader. It beggers belief...
A 65 year ild widow who's probably never been better off! My mother is a 78 year old widow and what with cold weather payments etc. she's never had as much money in her pocket. all this talk about our own old people being neglected over immigrants is complete garbage. My mother smokes .....likes her sherry and still has more money than she's ever had in her life.

that woman was a bit full of her own importance .......she knew it was being televised and just shot from the hip without even listening to his responses .............pure vanity ...she thought she had her moment of glory ..........well she got that and a bit more on top. I certainly dont feel sorry for her - I think anyone would have sounded off after that. It's one thing to have a conversation but quite another to simply rattle on without listening. No wonder GB was frustrated ...........i thought under the circumstances his response was quite mild.

You've taken the words right out of my 84 year old mothers mouth soozy, she's never had it so good. No tv license, cold winter payments, pension credits. She takes three 4 day breaks a year with her sister, only because a week is too much for her. She's more clothes than me, got a better social life at the weekends than me. Going to her local club two nights over the weekend by taxi. she's the first to say she's never had it so good and that's why \i will be driving her on polling day to mark her card for a Labour vote.

By the way, I thought the attitude of the woman talking to GB was downright awful, and yes she did sound like a bigot. She was spouting and not letting him answer, and after listening to her I think he did well to hold his response until he got into the car.

LOL... so now it is the woman's own fault that Mr Brown was rude. The fact that she talked over him is no excuse.... let's face it, he (and all politicians ) should be used to it.... they do it to each other constantly

He said what he said in private or so he thought Baz, she said what she said on National Television. It wasn't that she talked over him, it was the words she used that I thought were awful.

I am so shocked that people are calling the poor woman all sorts now, she is a genuine lifelong Labour voter, she was (trying to) sincerely question him over matters she was troubled about.  She told the reporters afterwards that Gordon definitely had her vote (before she found out what he had said).
