I've returned home late after a night out of a friend's celebration, I left the video running on Ch5 because of a programme I wanted recording, but it's also recorded Big Brother, which I've skimmed through and it seemed it was all about arguments and bad language, what's new there. Apart from one series I've watched them all from the beginning. For this one I watched the opening night and one episode and didn't like anyone even though they fitted this year's BB theme...not my type of those I'd like to know in rl as I've never been career driven or had a competitive streak whether in a game or in real life.

So, in the last year I've given up watching X Factor, Britain's Got Talent and finally Big Brother as I've not seen anyone to like, I have to like someone in a reality show as I'm just wasting precious time if not. Maybe I've pulled out too soon from BB, I don't know, just gone by my instincts so far.

I think I'm turning into my parents!
Call me a snob but this format is designed for the untermensch. These youngsters seem to think they have invented everything. Sex tapes? We've all done sex tapes. Although to be fair, in my day, it took two people to carry and operate the electrical equipment. We had none of these smart telephones then.
And it was restricted to a better class of person.

Yes I understand exactly what you mean Yellow Rose. I don't relate to, and wouldn't want to spend time with most of them. There are a few nice characters but they're overpowered by the nasty ones.

This year's BB also feels quite orchestrated at times - like they're doing pre-arranged set pieces to push our buttons and create controversy.

I'll stick with it though because I enjoy the shared experience and laughs with you lot there.

If it were not for chatting about it on here, I doubt I would bother with it at all. It isn't BB any more.

That's been my attitude for years - certainly since C5 took over.
It's all your fault I'm still here!

Seriously though: I'm trying to make most nights for the first week to see how it goes, but I'm giving a lot of thought to winding things in a bit for the rest of the series. Other commitments (and I don't just mean the football!) may make the time normally spent on BB something I can't really afford this year - not least because yet again my holidays may conflict with the last few weeks...
