No, he said 'caught on a line', he didn't say Caught by Fishing Rod.quote:Originally posted by paace:quote:Originally posted by old hippy guy:quote:Originally posted by mozart:quote:Originally posted by erinp:
I am scared to ask but ,why does it say Dolphin free on the tin they had?
it probably said dolphin friendly.
yip means the tuna was caught on a line and not in a net as the nets often catch dolphins as well and a while ago there was a bit of a "stink" about how many dolphins were caught in their nets and dying,
"Discoverly channel" instead of hollyoaks or ugly betty,
You mean all there salmon was caught by guys using fishing rods ! I find that hard to believe for a global company.

Tuna are caught on fishing rods - Dozens of men stand on a platform at the side of the boat and fish with rods, they don't have to bait the hooks, in a tuna shoal the fish are so 'frenzied' they bite anything and so get caught - its amazing to see but thats how it's done.

As a veggie no, I haven't but my daughter is having tuna/pasta for dinner tonight - I'd better warn her and remind her how fattening 'brine' is! ...

I always thought tuna were much bigger than that, so was wondering how on earth you could catch one on a line
I would hope that quality control would keep the dolphin out of my tuna!
