Happy May Day to you too Joe. 

 

My head has been so all over lately, I was driving to work today and in my head working out dates and I got this awful dread feeling that I had forgotten to post birthday cards to friends in the USA who share the same birthday.  So I sent texts apologising, as soon as I sent the texts I remembered it was the last day of April and not the 30th of May.

I know Cinds, it was awful. I didn't believe it until I saw a picture of my mother on the motorway covered in a blanket, presenting it to my aunt and she broke down and told me. It's been a long time and I only think about it once a year. It's just unlucky that it's the 1st of May.

She was running away from two men. My brother (back in Germany) dealt with them. It's not my life. I was adopted when I was very little, but the connection always remained. I saw her all my life and loved the bones off her. We were like two peas in a pod. Skinny mares with big eyes. Everybody thought we were sisters. 1 May and 1Dec (her birthday) are when I remember her.
