Happy Birthday to J M Barrie who would have been 150 today. Without him Great Ormond Steet Hospital would have been a much poorer place.

The recent revival by the National Theatre of Scotland had only average ratings in the reviews.
Some said it lacked tension and was less than mesmerising.
However, as you remind us El Loro, the hospital still benefit.
It would seem they will have a 'Peter Pan' income indefinitely. I don't foresee the attraction for Peter Pan fading.

The copyright law is complex. As far as the UK is concerned, normally copyright would have expired in 2007, 70 years after J M Barrie's death. However, a copyright act passed in 1988 uniquely extended copyright here in the UK in perpetuity. In the rest of Europe, copyright expired in 2007 apart from Spain where it will expire in 2017. In the States, although the copyright on the book has expired, the copyright on the play remains in copyright until 2023. This information has been taken from the Great Ormond Street Hospital website, so I take no responsibility for this information.Specifically at the request of J M Barrie, Great Ormond Street Hospital does not reveal how much money they receive.
