I saw the first episode but missed the second. At present the Flash Player crashes when I use iPlayer (doesn't crash elsewhere) so I can't catch up. Although Paul Merton is good, this series doesn't seem to quite as good as the 13 part series shown in 1980 called Hollywood. It was made by Kevin Brownlow and David Gill and is probably the most authoritative documentary series ever made about silent films. I don't think it is currently available on DVD.
The last episode was all about Roscoe "Fatty " Arbuckle and the great injustice he endured due to the so called "moral" bunch.

That's a little ironic, because my understanding is that the original idea behind the series was that Merton wanted to do a programme about his hero, Roscoe Arbuckle. The BBC were interested, but felt it wasn't enough to justify filming, so it was expanded to a "history" of Hollywood's early years, with Arbuckle's story taking up the 2nd episode...
