I am guilty of that... twas my hubbies bday three weeks ago... he got a new wok (cringe, I'd kill him if he got me kitchenware), a book (he wrote down the one he wanted).. and money towards a new exhaust for his bike! 
TBH though.... unless we have uber money to make a big show... something special, then whats the point in spending money on tat just for the sake of it. At the moment we ain't got it... so its the little things that really count.

I did that the xmas before last.. Next Directory. Only just finished paying it off
He did, surprisingly, like the stuff I got him tho! wasted a bomb cos I had no set idea just picked loads of stuff up, and it sharp adds up in there.
