I have my flat aglow with candles and my Halloween decs out. Just munching some nuts and sipping a little Halloween punch... and looking forward to the night of spooky films on Film Four. And popping in here of course to see how everyone's Halloween is going

Indeed Milo is in his outfit - he's been out side in it but is waiting for me to carve the pumpkin - it's only a tiddly one as there were none left

my great niece was determined to be Medusa... her gran finally got a green wig and loads of rubber snakes from Amazon and wired them all in.   They've just left and I'm picking green hair up from all over the place.

I have a posh Marco Pierre White black casserole pot that I swear looks like just like a cauldron. I'll make Irish stew in it for supper tonight [on a vaguely celtic/Samhain theme].

Rosie, I bought black cast iron pots last year ready for the new kitchen, so the soup is looking like it's in a cauldron.  (Mexican black bean soup)

Chunks I just saw a great tip on twitter.  It said when halloween scroungers come knocking open the door and flick water at them while saying 'let the power of Christ compel you'.

Great  sounds yummy, and thats so suitable Cinds, as tomorrow is Mexican Dia de Los Muertos - maybe an even spookier festival than Halloween  I'm gonna keep celebrating as I once saw a documentary on it and love the whole idea http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Day_of_the_Dead

I think tomorrow is All Saints day and 2 November is All Souls Day. I been reading up 

We can all keep celebrating  Funny how it coincides with Day of the Dead isn't it? They make bread for the dead which is similar to celtic soul cakes. Plus they  have a night-time picnic on the graves of their loved ones. I find that so touching 

I've converted the 3 audio files I posted earlier to mp3 files and that may mean that Cinds and other Mac users can see the arrows by the files though this may not work.

 

The Addams Family is on Film Four right now, part of  their spooky night of films. Great film 

Just to add some balance to some of the stories on here. I've had about 40 children around: all of them dressed up; all had to be persuaded that they could have three things each; all took turns choosing, and all of them said thank you

I'm currently defrosting myself in the exotic Newcastle 

Oh and I'm secretly hoping that I don't get too many more so that I can stuff myself with the leftover 'screme eggs' etc.

I couldn't get a big pumpkin today as I left it too late so I had to make do with a tiddly £1 effort from Lidl but hey I had a go at carving an ghoul - load of rubbish but I like him 

I've ignored the door all night.  Creme eggs are to be enjoyed intimately and not shared with anyone.
