Is anyone doing anything special for it?
I'm putting up my decorations and carving a pumpkin tonight. [The pumpkin, sadly, is a modern concession - those turnip lanterns of my childhood are too hard to carve].
How will you mark Halloween?

seems to be a regional thing. Its big where I'm from [ NI ]. We're all pagans...
Ah yes... remember you saying you had the grandkids last year
giant garden spider has too much damage but other decorations are ok, pumpkin ready to be carved and large stash of sweets in cupboard
Have been drawing on the pumpkin, trying to get the face close to the original Halloween movie pumpkin... now about to carve it.
I'm the world's most kack-handed person so wish me luck !
I have made a cauldron of witches brew punch for any visitors... please feel free to take a cup... rest your weary bones down by the fire and tell us tales of your own Halloween celebrations

Welcome Machel. Sounds promising... what happened to the giant garden spider?...
I'm answering my own thread, which is pretty pathetic but anyway... I love Halloween

I will miss most of the guisers because of overtime.
Right now, I should start my Jack Skellington cake. Wish me luck.

Joe may I say, you and I haven't got on in the past, but when it comes to Halloween.., we have common ground. I hate callers...luckily my buzzer hasn't worked for two years
Hats off to you for your forthright approach...
I too saw the ket and bought a big tub of it all for meeeeeee
Remind me of this next week when I start a thread about a sudden out break of spots

What I posted here about what I will be doing was a very toned down version of what I tweeted I would be doing.
My girls always used to go to a big party down the road. The (mad) mother host of the party used to dress up as the Grim Reaper and take all the party goers round to their houses for trick or treating.
Nowadays they have all grown up
last year I got a whole pile of sweeties in but no one called. I've done the same this year. Guess who'll be eating Haribo throughout November
I'll be enjoying seeing all of the children in the village dressed up and having fun as they go around the doors...must remember to get a load of goodies to dish out to them

if only you'd said sooner... i've got a bowl full of mini bags of haribo and fruit chews - and I've still got an unopened bag - and about a dozen packets of surprise eggs things liberated from work's sample store. I'll be joining Rexi in the haribo pig out I think.

Happy Halloween everyone!
Well I have the pumpkin carved, the fruit and nuts set out... decs up, plenty of candles. What would make it perfect.... is any tales of ghosts or the supernatural you would like to share - has anyone had any?
Or just tales of how you celebrated Halloween as a child would be really nice too
To celebrate the day and all thats spooky....
Please sit down by the fireside and sip some punch....and read this tale...
So what do you make if it yourself ? Can't figure it out but its scary i.m.o.
Love this costume. Wish I'd seen it earlier - think I coiuld have cobbled something together for Jack

So did I but he didn't notice anything out of the ordinary
I shall spend Halloween opening the window, taking one look at the eager little faces of the Trick or Treaters and shouting 'Bugger off, this isn't America!'
Every night is Halloween for me. Richard III dropped by the other evening and we spent a very pleasant evening chatting over a cup of (Yorkshire) tea and sharing a tube of Pringles.
I can tell you that he's not too happy at being dug up and having his old bones yanked about and gawped at - he was quite content under his car park
